A couple of years in and it really doesn’t have enough suction and the beater bar doesn’t spin. The support line was helpful enough and sent out a new bar but that didn’t solve the issue. Can’t see why something so expensive and highly touted by the founder really doesn’t hold up to normal household use.

I'm happy to inform you that Dyson canister vacuums are generally among our most powerful offering in the Dyson line of vacuum cleaners. Like all Dyson vacuums, they are designed to not lose suction as long as they are properly maintained as outlined in the user guide. The Dyson Big Ball series does contain filters that require regular maintenance in order to maintain the machines intended performance.

Don’t waste your money...buy a different Dyson
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This vacuum is perfect for you if you are planning to vacuum a completely empty room with no furniture or rugs. It’s so incredibly frustrating to use. The ball gets caught on every corner and wall in the room. They market it as if you can simply keep pulling when you get stuck and the vaccum ball will nicely upright itself, but this feature does absolutely nothing when stuck on a doorway or piece of furniture. Additionally, the suction is too much for rugs and carpet, even when pulling the release under the handle. I end up literally having to get someone to stand on the edge of the rug, so the vacuum doesn’t completely pull up the end and get stuck. Inefficient and so annoying. With the retractable cord and many switchable heads, I really wanted to like this vaccum, but that is NOT the case. But a different Dyson...this one is so poorly designed.

The Dyson Big Ball canister vacuum was designed with the low center of gravity to self-right itself back up if tipped, but with the low profile in the wheels, the machine is designed to round thosse corners and get through doorways with ease. We're sorry this did not occur in your experience.
Dyson machines, like the Dyson Big Ball canister vacuum, are suitable for most flooring types. However, we are unfortunately unable to test our machines on every flooring permutation, and every type of unaffixed rug. Therefore, we always recommend that you contact your carpet, rug and/or flooring retailer/manufacturer before using your new Dyson or any other vacuum cleaner. Some have restrictions and recommendations on brushbar, suction power and even brand.
