Works like a charm. Gets all the dog hair out of my car and off my sofa.

The Dyson Car and Boat Handheld provides powerful suction in a relatively compact and light package, making this is compelling option for those looking for an on-the-go vacuum. For the most part, this vacuum lives up to the Dyson name but may not be the most versatile or best option for all users. There's a lot to like about this vacuum which excels in performance. As mentioned above, it features plenty of power while being manageable and compact, all while being relatively quiet and having a lengthy battery life lasting upwards of 50 minutes on normal mode (there's also an extra powerful max mode, which I haven't found much of a need for thus far). Beyond the performance, this package includes only 3 accessories, but all 3 serve a strong purpose. The crevice tool and the multitool have been included with a majority of Dyson vacuums I've had over the years, but the 3rd, the mini motorized tool, is a new one for me and offers an effective cleaning ability on any number of surfaces from cars to stairs to hard to reach plots of floor. It's also remarkably easy to clean, meaning hair isn't much of an issue. There are, however, a couple of issues that I do have with this vacuum. My main issue is that it does not have a removable battery. This is an issue for two primary reasons; you can't have multiple batteries on hand for longer run time and as the vacuum ages and the battery deteriorates, you'll end up having to throw the entire vacuum out instead of just replacing the battery. My other main issue is an ergonomic issue I've seen with all handheld Dyson vacuums I've used; it features a trigger style on switch, meaning you have to continuously hold the button down to use the vacuum. I'm not entirely sure why Dyson has chosen this method, but to me (and my wife), this is not as user friendly as an on/off button style trigger. My final issue is that seemingly in the name of being a "handheld" first vacuum, Dyson has neglected to include a wand in the package. This brings me to my final point about the Car and Boat. This is essentially a rebranded Dyson V8 vacuum with the added mini power head accessory instead of a floor attachment and without a wand. What this means is that if you already have a handheld Dyson vacuum, your money will likely be better spent buying accessories for your existing vacuum instead of shelling out money for the Car and Boat. Overall, I've found the Dyson Car and Boat to be a powerful, compact, and portable vacuum. Whether it's worth your money likely comes down to whether or not you already have a Dyson handheld style vacuum. The lack of a removable batter and the absence of a wand also make it less versatile than it could be. But at the end of the day, it's a Dyson vacuum, and that means it's a strong performer.

The machine is good but the only issue I have is that the battery life is not good at all.

Have been using this vacuum mainly for my vehicle and small areas around my home. The obvious positives always stand out with Dyson, which are power, solid build (but slight drawbacks I'll get to) and feel of durability. Dyson rarely if ever fails in these area. This is marketed as a vehicle/boat vacuum and that's fine and it does its job. The suction power is undeniable and with the onboard cleaning attachments, even the smallest amount of crumbs, french fries that fall between the seats, our no match for the quality and power that Dyson brings to the table. You will need to charge this up. Right out of the box, but once done, you are ready to go. I found that you will get a good forty minute charge out of the vacuum after it has been fully charged capacity. The unit comes with an on board charger and charges fairly quickly. There are a couple of filters which seem to be standard with all dyson products and can be easily removed and cleaned. Just make sure you allow for proper drying time to avoid any unwanted odors. Clean up and the dumping of debris is very simple, has easy access. You simply pull up on a tab, and the bucket is ready for dumping. Again, with the attachments you can use this as a mini sweeper, if you will, and it also comes with attachments to reach those hard to get spaces in between seats under seats in tight spaces. If you are using this for a car and or boat. A couple of reasons, for not giving a full 5 star rating is due to first of all, the vacuum feels a bit bulky, it is easier. I'm sure for boats, but could be a bit cumbersome when navigating through a vehicle. Also, since this is a unit that on paper is to be used for cars and or boats, a real plus would have been the inclusion of a wall mount for easy or storage and access for use. I've always been a fan of dyson products and continue to be one a smaller and sleeker design would have put this over the top and easily a five star rating. I do, however, absolutely recommend this product for not only boat ant or vehicle use. But for those smaller, clean up jobs around the home.

In the Q&A on the Dyson-car+boat cordless vacuum it states the vacuum on a full charge will run up to 50 minutes. My Dyson ran 9-11 minutes fully charged! I tried it 3 times and the same thing happened. Disappointed, I return it. Also takes several hours to charge. Not worth $ 199.00.Disappointed

I’ve owned many Dyson products over the past few years including vacuums, fans, and air purifiers. Dyson products are exceptional in terms of quality and ingenuity but they do come with a premium price tag which I’ve always thought as being justified. I love my Dyson vacuums for their power and effectiveness and was pleased to see Dyson develop a car vacuum. More specifically it is marketed as the Car+Boat Handheld Cordless Vacuum. I’ve tried various car vacs over the years and I found them all inadequate for one reason or another. Particularly the cordless ones I’ve tried were poorly designed and had weak batteries. I was confident that Dyson’s foray into this market would put the competition to shame. In the box you find the vacuum, the battery charger, a crevice tool, a combination tool, and the mini motorized tool. The vacuum itself is reminiscent of the vacuum part of a Dyson stick vacuum. Upon unboxing, you immediately get a sense of Dyson quality since the vacuum has a quality feel and weight to it. Design wise, typical of Dyson it looks great too. The vacuum was charged out of the box but I topped it off prior to testing. The specs state that you get 50 minutes of fade free suction on a full charge. A truly impressive battery life and way more than enough to vacuum any vehicle. There are 2 power modes called Eco and Max mode. Eco is plenty strong but Max is like turbo powered suction. I first tried it around the house. It made quick work of sucking up dust and debris around my home. I particularly found it useful for stairs which can be awkward and frankly dangerous to vacuum with a full size vac. It’s just the right size and weight at 4.2 lbs. for those other smaller cleaning jobs where lugging out a larger vacuum is too cumbersome. Moving on to my car I found it immediately superior to any other car vac I’ve owned. The Dyson size is perfect for maneuvering inside a car and the exceptional suction made the precision detailing of my car interior a breeze. The tool selection is perfect for different areas of your vehicle. The crevice tool for reaching under and around seats, the combination tool with its brush worked great for vents, and the agitating action of the mini motorized tool worked great on loosening dirt in carpeting. While the tool selection is fantastic, I do wish Dyson included an extension hose attachment, which would be particularly handy for better accessing all those nooks and crannies in a car. Fortunately, I own one (which can be purchased separately) and I highly recommend getting one Ultimately, I knew this product would be a winner, and it did not disappoint. The Dyson Car+Boat Handheld Cordless Vacuum exemplifies the comforting reassurance of Dyson quality in yet another outstanding product.

Battery dies in 5 minutes, not worth the money!!!!

The Dyson Car/Boat Handheld vacuum was easy to assemble & get charged for use. It has several attachments. It is a substantial handheld device with a powerful motor and suction. It has two speeds and the trigger device works with a very gentle touch. I quickly vacuumed the car and it worked very well. Since it is Winter, I could not test it on our boat or pontoon. It should work well on carpeted boats. The emptying bin works very well and drops down and opens the hatch very quickly so emptying is easier than on other vacuums. Given the weight of the device, I felt like I would like a longer stick option to attach to this powerful motor so that I didn’t need to bend over as much. This would be especially good for cleaning up a boat/pontoon. I spilled a large amount of coffee beans on my kitchen floor and I used this device for clean up and it did an excellent job. I thought it would crush some of the beans but it didn’t so there was no residual smell in the dirt canister. Overall this is a nice device.

Which is a good thing. Because if it didn't my feelings would be a lot different. As a 'car and boat' vacuum it feels a little overengineered. I miss the little dust devil vacuums from my childhood. They took up almost no space when stored and they were great for cleaning up small messes. This evokes a lot of the same, but with all of the Dyson design philosophy, meaning it has filters and looks more like it belongs in a sci-fi movie than the trunk of your SUV. But that aside, it's a capable little sucker. The three heads it comes with give it a variety of solutions for different smaller messes including a spinny brush head like a traditional vacuum. I am mostly using this around the house to reach tougher spots and get under things that my fullsize vacuum just make difficult. (also a dyson) because the self retracting hose for attachments of the fullsize vacuum is so agressively difficult to actually use effectively because it demands to stay retracted as much as possible it feels like you need a fireteam to hold the hose to keep it extendedd so you can actually reach and get under things and behind stuff. This handheld dirtmucher on the other hand doesnt fight with me. Though it would be great if it had an extension so it could also be more of an upright vacuum as well when needed. (could rebrand it for cars boats and RVs then :D)

As I examined the vacuum, I see that it is the same as the full bundled version. Same powerful vacuum with not as many attachments as the floor model. This bundle is specific to be used in small spaces like cars and boats as it has the crevice tool, brush tool, mini motor tool, and charge cord. The charge cord is a standard plug but doesn't have a car charger adapter. On one charge, the vacuum can be used continuously for about an hour. If you decide to keep this product in the car or boat, there needs to be a way to charge it. While the overall suction power of the vacuum has been impressive, I'm not impressed with the performance of the attachments. The motorized tool kind of drags along the surface not really picking up much and getting clogged often. The crevice and brush tools are standard accessories and I have no problem with them. Overall, While I do think this product is convenient for car and boat owners, I don't think this is worth the money, especially since it's the same vacuum as the other model, just fewer attachments.

Wow! Game changer, I don't usually bother with reviews, but this little machine is fantastic, could not be happier

Dyson for me is one of the best. They are now making dyson where parts are easy to change and buy. I Would buy another when and if it goes on sale.
