We replaced a 20-yr old Hoover with this unit, and didn’t realize how much we were missing until now. On regular carpet, this is amazing! After vacuuming, my carpet looks new (and even has a softer feel to it). That tells me this vacuum is doing its job! WARNING: Don’t be lazy…Make sure you empty the dust bin religiously!! It has a Max line for a reason! Don’t complain about motor or clogging issues if you’re one of those folks who wait longer than they should to empty out the bin. This is your fault, not Dyson’s! The attachments are just a slight learning curve, but once you figure it out, they are nice to have for any occasion warranting such. The suction is bar none! Even with attachments, it virtually reaches out and grabs the dust as of to say “Get your rear end over here!!”. That makes vacuuming much easier! If I had one complaint, it’s that other vacuums can easily be propped up on the back wheels and rolled around to the next location to be vacuumed. However, this one (even with double clicking the unit in place) is a bit weak, and it causes the main floor piece to come down harder than one would like. To remedy this. I make sure to put my toes on the roller/wheel, while gently leaning the unit backwards, then walking to the next room. I’ve found that being a little more gentle in this stage will keep it from “unlocking”. Of course, there’s wheels all over the bottom, so you can easily push to around without leaving it backwards, but most of us have gotten accustomed to the leaning method when moving a vacuum, so if that’s you, then take my advice on how to do it safely.

This is my second Dyson vacuum, the first of which I sold looking to get this upgrade. Sure it wasn't necessary, but my slightly older animal version had a pesky filter that would need to be washed regularly and when I found out this one did away with that filter altogether, I had to have it. Only slightly bigger in overall size and beefier, this is the definitive vacuum to get. Sure it's pricey, but you are paying for the ease of use and for the best suction on the market that is guaranteed to last you at least 10 years. No filter, a better removal canister than can be taken apart to clean from the inside once dirt is dumped to maintain that new clear canister look, and the best suction all make this purchase highly recommended. You will love this vacuum and its many attachments, which by the way, comes with a handy little pouch to tuck them away and store them. Dyson is the best.

This is simply the best vacuum money can buy. So much suction power, it amazing and sometimes disgusting how much stuff this vacuum will pick up out of ones carpet. Easy to use right out of the box. It comes with a impressive set of tools, especially the furniture vacuum tool you put on the hose. This vacuum is a must if you have cats or dogs and even kids. :)

This is a 2nd Dyson vacuum we are purchasing. Still use the old one, had it for 8 years. Extremely satisfied with product performance, powerful, easy to use, convenient to turn corners and reach out under furniture. Even kids enjoy using it to clean their rooms!

It is expensive but with the incentives Best Buy was offering it made me pull the trigger on the purchase. I previously owned a Dyson DC-40 and this performs better for several reasons. On hardwood, the base has changed to not allow crumbs to shoot through the back of the vacuum, and there is a soft piece that kind of dusts the floor. On carpet, it is amazing and gets up more dirt and pet hair than my old one. The tools are great, too. I especially like the reach under tool to vacuum under couches and bookcases on our hardwood floors. Overall, it feels more solid than my old Dyson. I like the long cord - no more unplugging and plugging back in for different rooms. Be aware that it is much heavier than the DC-40 or other smaller vacuums. I was surprised by that, but it is not a big deal for me. One last thing: I love the filterless technology and the fact that there is nothing to wash.

The motor is bigger and more powerful. It is a standard Dyson, but better. The only downfall is that it is bigger and slightly heavier, but that is to be expected with a bigger motor. It comes with a ton of attachments and a nice tote to store them in. I never thought I would ever in my life pay that much for a vaccum, but I am glad I did!

In comparing the Cinetic Big Ball Animal vacuum cleaner with my previous Dyson, it definitely has great suction power and does a thorough cleaning. One of the problems I have with this vacuum is it is heavier and harder to maneuver. One of the major reasons why I like Dyson is because how it turns around corners or furniture and this particular model takes some wrist strength. I also bought this model hoping it would help pick up cat fur, which it definitely does, but I find on hardwood or tile flooring any fur off to the side gets blown around and I find myself chasing after the flying fur. The end result, however, is why I gave it 4 stars. I would definitely buy another Dyson, but might do a little more research on the different models.

I've always heard great things about Dyson, and boy they weren't lying. We vacuumed our carpet with the old vacuum (a Hoover) and then with the Dyson and the Dyson picked up about as much as the Hoover. It's easy to use, extremely good at its job, and totally worth the money you have to spend. There are only two things to remember: 1) Empty the canister often - it picks up A LOT and you don't want it to get clogged, and 2) there are no wheel to roll it. You have to kind of push it on the pseudo wheels on them. It's definitely not ideal, but not enough to really be a problem.

I purchased this model on the recommendation that it picks up hair. That it truly does. It has a powerful suction so it is easy for things to get pulled into it. I find myself having to frequently empty the dirt container since it accumulates so much in so little time. The attachments are easy to use however, they don't have a far reach to them so you need to have the main vacuum handy at all times. I also find that when I am done vacuuming not only is there hair around the base. You can adjust it so that the roller doesn't spin, however, it is not full proof but also hair gets caught in the upper part of the interior canister. It is made out of cheap plastic and overpriced to say the least. One thing in its favor is that there is no need to clean a filter since it does not come with one. There is a hair attachment but I doubt I will be using it.

All in all it is a wonderful vacuum. The edge to edge suction works great and all of the attachments it comes with are really useful. Captures a lot of dust and particles and performs extremely well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the hefty price tag that comes with it.

When you look at higher-end vacuums, Dyson is up there. My mom had spent several hundred on a rainbow vac. My in-laws use another brand. All 3 get the job done. Cost-wise, mine's in the middle. From a cleaning and use standpoint, there are no bags no dirty water to pour out and no heavy noise. It moves well on almost every surface and the attachments are reasonable. After clean ups, you definitely see all the loose fibers, dust, hair, etc in the receptacle - and you are thankful for the efficacy of dyson. Dumping contents is not as pleasant or easy as I would expect from big innovators (maybe wishful thinking). Also, small canister size requires slightly more frequent trips to trash bin. Nonetheless, storage and "putting up" the vac are exceeding easy. Overall, very happy. Would buy on sale again.

Bought this as a replacement/upgrade for our previous Dyson DC41 Animal. We have 2 cats and a dog and vacuum every day, so we use our vacuum a lot and decided to go all out on the new one and we purchased the Dyson Animal/Allergy Cinetic Upright and we have not been disappointed. Some other reviewers commented on this vacuum being cheap plastic and heavier than previous Dysons, but with our DC41 it is very similar in build and bulk. We used our old vacuum the DC41 animal and then right after used the Cinetic and i couldn't believe how much more the Cinetic picked up. If you have pets then this is the vacuum for you. If your like us and have lots of pets and kids and always have to clean your floors then this is worth the investment!

I was honestly a little hesitant whether to get this vacuum but I think it was the best choice. Has over 10 different tools to add to the extension, it's truly powerful and easy to operate. It is a big heavy, but nothing major. I use it 2-3 days a week due to the fact that I have dogs and I have allergies that's why I opted for this vacuum.

This is the best of the best of Dyson. This was the perfect addition to the home because the house has pets galore. This was the logical choice because pretty hair seems to get everywhere, as well as per dander. All the attachments are easy to use and come with a pull string bag to carry them all in. The included attachments allow you to clean blinds, ceiling fans, and many more things to make sure you remove any and all dust and dirt from your home reducing allergies in your home. The power of this unit is the best I've seen so far. So, if you have pets or seem to have allergies when at home, get this unit and use the best tools on the market to make your home a clean, allergy free zone!!

I've been really impressed with this vacuum, it does an incredible job. I only have two small complaints: 1) There's a lot of plastic for such an expensive machine. It doesn't seem like any crucial areas are flimsy, and I'm sure it keeps the weight down, though. 2) It comes with a ton of attachments, but the instructions don't tell you what they're for, and there's no real good way to store/organize them. It comes with a bag to put them in, but it doesn't have any specialized compartments or anything. But, aside from those two minor things that don't even really affect its usage, it's awesome. It picks up everything, and it's easy to use and clean.

I've always heard that Dyson vacuums were the best and that it was worth it to pay the extra price, but I was skeptical until I purchased one. Once I took it home and used it on a rug that I had just vacuumed earlier with my Shark, I was amazed at how much more came out of the rug. Never again will I rely on lower cost models when purchasing vacuums. The Dyson Animal 2 is great for pet hair and the additional attachments are an added bonus to help clean off furniture.

We invested in this vacuum about a month ago and could not be happier. Our old vacuum was a 9 year old Costco special that had been giving less than stellar performance for about 3 years. We have a one year old and a 4 year old so needed something to do a better job cleaning. This not only made the carpet texture feel different, but also helped to fluff up the areas in our great room that are somewhat matted from heavy traffic. We pulled up all our carpet and installed hardwood about 2 weeks after getting this vacuum and it works just a great on the hard floor. We vacuum up EVERYTHING and the amount of dust is picks up is AMAZING. Make sure when you're using it on hard floors to ensure the brush spinner is off, a few times when we first got it and I was trying to use it on the kitchen tile floor I could not figure out why it was throwing junk all over the floor. It was because I had the brush spinner on - only use it for carpet. This model was worth it for us because the cost of the attachments/accessories that it comes with is more than the difference in price between this model and the one below it. 100% recommend! Keep in mind that you need a vacuum to do a GREAT job cleaning when you use it so you don't need to deep clean the floor on a daily basis. This is an investment item and DEFINITELY worth it.

Our household only had one dog but that dog is a Newfoundland. So finding the right vacuum has been quite a challenge. It would appear that the dog hair has met it’s match. This Dyson has their new “cinetic science” meaning filterless. I do appreciate one less filter to worry about in any vacuum. Overall it has performed very well. We have had little to no dog hair buildup on the motor head. That is a big win for us because it has been a continuous problem with all vacuums that we’ve purchased. Only complaints are that this being the Dyson big ball it is a little on the heavy side and the plastic chassis is quite flimsy. This vacuum has very strong suction! So in the scenario of using the vacuums hose or wand it is quite the workout.

I always thought id never buy a expensive vacuum, but i am very glad i did it is expensive but it does an amazing job.

This is an excellent vacuum. I have a lab that sheds everywhere, and previous vacuums had issues picking up her hair, but this vacuum gets everything. Not only can it suck everything up, but it smells a lot better compared to traditional vacuums that had filters. There are not any downsides to this vacuum except the high price tag, but it is worth it.
