I purchased the Cinetic Big Ball Animal to replace a 10 year old DC07 Animal. The DC07 was still functioning, but I realized that it was not doing as good a job as it had in the past. The good: This things picks up EVERYTHING. I have a 110-pound lab and there is hair everywhere, especially in the spring and fall. This vacuum has made my carpets look a ton better than they did with my old vacuum. This thing will suck up items, clothes, laces from a distance, so be careful! The new power tool (to prevent tangling with hair) is awesome and works great on furniture and stairs. The bad: After being a Dyson user for the last 10+ years, there are couple of things that I think are not as good as my previous DC07. First is the bin. I have several issues with the bin. It is smaller than the previous one, which means more frequent emptying. With how much more this picks up, that amounts to nearly twice as much as before. It is also more difficult to dump. The button is not as easy to press, and its harder to close up. Second, is the stand. Getting the thing to stand up after vacuuming can be a pain. Moving the handle to an upright position makes a "click" when the wheels come out, but that does not necessarily mean that the handle is "locked" in the upright position. It falls over about a quarter of the times I try to get it to stand. Both of these issues, I am sure that I will get used to. But these are minor inconveniences compared to the sheer cleaning power that this thing has. I would definitely recommend it!

This is my second Dyson. I also had the original Animal unit. It was a great vacuum so I bought a second. The cleaning power is amazing. However it is heavier than my last Dyson. I am also not completely sold on the ball roller. It really isn't as flexible as I thought it would be. All that being said the suction is unsurpassed and that is the most important to me with two dogs and I will just get used to the other issues. The tools that come with the system are impressive and I can't wait to put them to good use.

People think I’m crazy for spending so much money on a vacuum but it has been the best purchase I have ever made. I previously had the Dyson DC65 Animal Complete. It too was a wonderful vacuum and had a lot more life left in it. But when my kids were sick non-stop, I took them to an allergist and one of my children has pet allergies along with almost every other outdoor allergy, then my other child has allergies to what our dog was bringing in. We had to find our dog a new loving home after searching for the perfect new “parents” to her and had to clean absolutely everything in the house. When I read reviews about this new Dyson, I had to try it. It was getting out more pet hair than the DC65 had and a lot more white dust from the carpets (even after steam cleaning them). That right there sold me completely. It has saved me from having to pull out all the carpet and installing hardwood with their allergies, especially since we just had new carpet installed 2 years ago. My kids haven’t been sick since and I really have Dyson to thank for this. Don’t be hesitant to buy this vacuum. It is worth every penny.

My family thinks I am a vacuum cleaner junkie because I keep buying different brands. It's really because I have never found one I love...not until my Dyson! I absolutely LOVE it! It's easy to use and works easily on carpet and hardwoods without having to change the settings. I have a dog that sheds and need to vacuum every day. This is the first one I have found that can do it all!!!

This vacuum is awesome. It picks up an incredible amount of dust, dirt, etc. and is very easy to use since it is bagless and never requires changing filters due to its design. Also, the vacuum comes with an incredible amount of attachments (more than any other vacuum I'm aware of) that can handle any task.

The Animal Dyson does everything it promises and more. The suction is unmatched to any other machine I have used, even professional grade, and yet handles with ease. Great with corners, easy to empty and even handles the stairs. Easy to switch between hardwood floors. A must have for every home.

Just like everyone else, my wife and I decided to go big or go home with our new vacuum. It performs as advertised and it's a powerful machine. Our apartment already looked clean but it was somehow able to lift small dirt particles from deep within our carpet. My only gripe is the quality of the construction and quality of the plastic that is used to hold it all together. For example... the handle is not a solid piece. It's constructed of 2 pieces that are snapped together and when you do a twisting motion while vacuuming you can feel it slightly separate with the stress. Also, in order to get the dyson to stand upright you have to snap it into place. That in itself also makes me uneasy and I feel like I may accidentaly break it lol. There are dozens of pieces you can see from it's exterior (and when emptying the dirt bin) that are very small and constantly used, under continuous strain and made of flimsy plastic. That being said the unit does have a warranty over several years. But honestly, who wants to bother with that. Bit disappointed that there wasn't a more sturdy construction for the amount that was paid. However, I've had it for 2 months now and it does not have any broken pieces and has held up very well. But we also don't have kids and treat the vacuum as well as I do my PS4... with a lot of love and respect.

I have multiple pets that shed - EVERYWHERE! This vacuum does what it says it does and picks up fur very well from carpets, furniture, floors, bedding, etc. The attachments make is easy to remove dust from ceiling vents, ceiling fans, and baseboards. I especially love being able to vacuum my baseboards without bending over since I have a really badly damaged back. The bag for the accessories is very handy as well. I'm really impressed with this vacuum. Areas I was vacuuming that visibly didn't seem like there was much in the way of an animal hair showed me I was mistaken because of how many times the vacuum's dirt chamber had to be emptied. It has to be getting deep down in the carpet fibers because there is no way that much fur was coming from the surface of my carpets. I have light colored carpet and several dark colored pets - so if their fur were on the surface of the carpet - you'd definitely see it. I'd recommend this vacuum to anyone who wants to reduce dust and fur in their home.

    Replacement for old model animal

I bought this to replace my almost 6 year old Dyson Animal (before the dual cyclones and before the ball). My old Dyson's wand hose was becoming permanently stretched out, and the suction was just beginning to show slight signs of end of life, but given almost 6 years of two times a week vaccumming a 3200 square house, it worked flawlessly for over 5 years of a Doberman and a Lab. The new vac is obviously more manuverable given the ball. The lack of a filter will be a welcome design improvement to not have to wash out a filter regularly. The pick up is all Dyson, thus no disappointments there. Yet to try the old Dyson tools (Dyson vacs come with LOTS attachment tools, and this new model is no different) on the new vac, for a massive amount of options. If you've never had a Dyson, they are QUALITY THRU AND THRU, even the attachments are heavy and built like tanks. If I get 5 good years out of this one, I will have no complaints and will be a Dyson vac owner for LIFE!

Worth every penny spent. This vacuum is everything I wanted and more! You'll find yourself wanting to vacuum just to use it, and again and again be amazed at how much it picks up that your old vacuum was leaving behind. Excellent for a multiple pet home. Dyson is the brand! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a new vacuum.

We switched to this from a Kirby. I always loved my Kirby and thought it did an excellent job; much better than the typical store brands. However, when we purchased this my wife had just vacuumed the living room. She then vacuumed again with this and the results were incredible. The amount of fine dust this picked up was incredible. I am a believer in Dyson now. Easy to use, easy to put together, tons of great attachments, and amazing power. You can't go wrong with this.

I bought this vacuum to replace the Dyson that i had purchased 15 years ago. The beater brush in my old vacuum was driven by the vacuums suction alone. This vacuum has a motor driven beater brush. It also has better suction, it really pulls the dirt out of the carpet. One feature that has improved is the longer electrical cord, I don't have to stop to move to a new outlet as often . The bad: The tangle free attachment doesn't work as well as i would like. It doesn't pull dirt out of the material like the original beater brush. The ball doesn't maneuver very easily on bare floors. I think it is a traction issue. It seems i have to fight with it to make it go where i want. Weight doesn't seem to be an issue with me like others have suggested. Overall it's a great vacuum and would purchase again if i were looking.

I had purchased this vacuum to replace a Dyson DC14 that I have had for about 8 years. I had been doing a lot of research on vacuums before I purchased this one. When I had to finally replace my old Dyson, I was fortunate enough that the vacuum went on sale at the right time. I used my old Dyson to vacuum the living room carpet thoroughly before I used the the Cinetic. I wanted to see how much of a difference the new technology would make on a vacuum, and I was really impressed. The Dyson Cinetic was able to pick up the fine particles that my old Dyson missed. I could not believe how much fine particles were in left in the carpet. One of the best things about this vacuum is that there is no maintenance (no filters to clean). The only drawback with this vacuum is that the canister is much smaller than my old DC14. That just means that I have to make more trips to the trash bin. After a few times of using the Cinetic, you will see that there are less trips to empty the canister since the carpets are much cleaner than before. Although this vacuum is on the pricier side, I would definitely say it is worth it (especially if you can find it on sale).

I suffer seasonal allergies so that's why I splurged for this vacuum. If your allergies aren't as much a concern you could get model down but can't go wrong with dyson. Hasn't lost any suction. I've only used a few of the attachments to suck the dust off of fans and around tv. Worked great. I'm glad I invested in this vacuum.

This vacuum really sucks! Have a Labrador Retriever and it picks up the fur wonderfurly! Only used the attachment once but also had a lot of suction. Only complaint is that I was told there were no filters to clean/change. After several uses U would turn it on then it would automatically turn off. Turns out there is a screen on the canister that had become clogged with dust. After cleaning that it started working again. Now know to keep an eye on the screen. It is a little tricky at first on how to "steer" it. The cord is long but heavy. Wish there were a clip to keep it up near the handle rather than straight down to the floor. I looped the cord through the handle to solve that problem but a clip would have been helpful.

I have wanted one of these for a long time and finally bought one. I was skeptical but thought it cannot be worse than experiences I have had with other vacuums. It is awesome! Easy to use, great attachments and it sucks up pet hair in a flash. Time will tell regarding performance sustainability but I am loving it now.

Best vacuum I have ever used hands down! Does very well on carpet, or hard surface floors (just make sure to turn off the bristles on harder surfaces). Came was a ton of attachments, no filter that ever has to be replaced and never loses suction due to a clogged filter. The ONLY knock I could give this unit is it can be tricky/difficult to lock it into the upright position for storage or carrying around the house. It is tricky getting it to actually lock into that upright position, and sometimes when you think it is locked in, it's really not and doesn't take to knock it back out of that position. Other than that, awesome vacuum that will last many many years!

This animal vacuum is extremely powerful!!! This one combines the best of my last two Dysons: long hose to reach top of stairs, long cord that can reach most of house, good attachments (also interchangeable with my last Dyson)and the ball technology. Great vacuum if you have pets.

Suction is amazing. I have a long- haired giant dog who sheds more than any other dog I know. This takes up every stand out hair and then some. Carpets look new after the first use. Hair does get stuck in the rear part of the canister making it difficult for fast release and emptying.
