I recently moved to the west coast where AC in unit isn’t common. This fan definitely helps a ton! Helps move air efficiently. It is a little louder over setting “6” but that’s to expected. It definitely works. Slim design that fits into a room without looking like a clunky fan! I have no regrets!

As with pretty much all Dyson items, this Dyson Cool Tower Fan AM07 (White/Silver) is very easy to assemble, the design is simply beautiful, and it complements living room furniture (or, in my case, my Bowers & Wilkins speakers) nicely. As you can see from the picture, the fan is just about the same height as my B&W 603 S2 speakers. Although the fan is pretty lightweight, I feel it's still sturdy enough and does not easily tip over. Dyson advises though to always carry the fan by holding the base and not by holding the loop amplifier. The electronic display on the base of the fan shows the fan speed in white color. Due to the fan being blade free, it's totally safe for dogs to stick their nose in the loop amplifier (and of course, it's also totally safe for kids to move their hands through it). No blades. Just can't beat that!
The remote control is the only way to fully operate and control the fan from selecting the desired fan speed (between 1 - 10) to turning on/off the smooth oscillation feature for wider area cooling, and setting the timer - you can program it to run for 15 minutes up to 9 hours. The base only allows you to turn the fan on and off at the previously selected level. As such, to avoid losing your remote control, best always attach the remote to the top of the loop amplifier to store it after using the fan. It attaches to it magnetically. The remote's battery is type CR2032, also known as a 'Button Cell' and it appears it's easily replaceable. I found that you need to point the remote toward the base for it to work most responsively.
At low fan speeds, it runs surprisingly quiet but gets more audible especially when running at at speeds higher than 8 (level 10 is the max). I want to say you can already achieve a very powerful airflow at level 5 along with a cooling effect that you can feel, which is what I have run the fan most of the time. At lower-level fan speeds, for example, level 2 or 3, it should be fine to run it in a bedroom at night without being bothered by the noise while still enjoying a good-enough breeze.
I am giving this fan a well-deserved 5 stars, and can very highly recommend it. You can't go wrong with this one.
P.S. Please note that even though it says it's a cooling fan, it is not air-conditioning the air. It's not filtering the air either, and as such, there is no need to replace air filters.

Pros
Sleek design
Tons of airflow
Simple to operate
No visible fan blades to get damaged
Near silent at slower speeds
Precise speed control with 10 levels
Magnetic remote storage
No annoying sounds on high, just the sound of wind
Small intake grating catches most dust and hair for easy cleanup
Cons
Air multiplier portion feels like cheap plastic
Unit is so light it wobbles from airflow if placed near anything
Sensor for remote too low to ground
Controls are limited if remote is lost or damaged
No smart functions for what is a high end fan
Cleaning inside of base would be difficult
The Dyson Cool Tower Fan is probably Dyson’s simplest appliance. It contains no fancy features, no filtering, and no smart controls. It is simply a tower fan but made the Dyson way. While not truly bladeless, the blades are hidden in the base which contains the blower fan. It is much lighter than their Pure Cool fans which is likely why it has a base plate is to improve stability. In the box it is separated into the base plate, motor unit, and air multiplier. The bulk of the fan is the motor unit, and the air multiplier is very tall and extremely light. In fact, it almost feels cheaply light as the plastic is easy to deform. Also included is a small coin cell operated remote which stays in place magnetically on the top of the air multiplier portion. While some functions can be controlled from the base, you need the remote to have access to all functions. You can control speed, oscillation, and sleep timer. There is no smart functionality or app control included.
Setup and Performance
Setup is easy. The base, power unit, and air multiplier have stickers that indicate where you connect them. Once inserted you turn it slightly until it clicks, and you are done. The remote is ready to go out of the box. The fan offers 10 levels of speed control giving you far more control than most fans. The oscillation control is a bit different than most. On most fans when you press the oscillate button it stops the fan with the first press and reverses it with a second press. This way if you are trying to point the fan you can use the button to find tune where it is pointing. With the Dyson Cool Tower, the button only works to stop and start oscillation. If you miss the spot you wanted to point the fan you have to wait for it to go through the entire cycle again and try to aim again.
When it comes to cooling performance, this fan puts out a lot of air for its size. While it can get noisy at high speed, the sound emitted is just the sound of air moving. No unpleasant fan blade sounds or motor whining. Another bonus is since the fan blades are not exposed you don’t have to worry about seeing dust covered fan blades and how to clean them. The blades in the base also seem less likely to build up dust and hair because the intake grating at the bottom is small enough to where a lot of dust collects on the outside making cleanup quick and easy. While overall it feels well made, it does have some qualities that make it feel slightly less premium. The first is just how light the air multiplier portion is. Besides the flimsy feeling mentioned previously the unit is so light that if used near other items, such as a wall or furniture, the fan will wobble and shake. While any fan can do this it just seems out of place for what is intended as a premium fan. In any case the wobble doesn’t make any noise or affect operation and is more of nitpicking.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Dyson Cool Tower Fan is a very nice fan. If you are a fan of Dyson product and need a fan the choice is easy. For everyone else, if you like the idea of a fan with no visible blades to worry about, like a sleeker simple design, or want more than the normal amount speed control then this fan could be a great fit for you.

So ofcourse I knew this fan would be awesome, simply because dyson hasn’t let me down yet. This fan gets cold fast and even on the lowest setting I’ll still get cold. I love it, it’s super quiet and love that it’s blade free.

Cool Simplicity

The Dyson Cool Tower Fan is all about efficiency. Assembly couldn’t be easier. Three pieces: A base, a connecting collar, and the tower. If you can align arrows and rotate, you can assemble this fan.
The remote control is as simple as they come. You can control power on/off, fan motor speed, oscillation, and sleep timer. The remote sensor is located on the bottom front of the fan base, so if you can’t see the LED display – say the fan is on the floor at the foot of your bed and you’re using the remote at the head of the bed – chances are you’ll have to raise your arm to make changes. There needs to be a line of sight between the remote and the fan base. The current fan setting speed is displayed by a two-digit seven-segment white LED display on the fan base. When changing functions, the display briefly displays pertinent information and then returns to the fan speed number (1-10). The remote has a magnetic storage feature that allows you to place it securely and unobtrusively on the top of the fan tower (see photo).
I am impressed by the amount of air this fan can move. With proper placement, even at low speeds it effectively circulates and cools an entire medium- to large-size room. The airflow from the fan tower is surprisingly directed. Setting the fan to oscillate remedies this. In front of the fan, you experience a steady stream of air. To the left or right of the fan tower, the air is undisturbed. If you’re accustomed to a traditional tower/table fan, this takes some getting used to. It is definitely worth the adjustment. One of the things that stands out to me is how smooth the airflow is. The air is expelled from this thing like water from a quality spout. No turbulence. Just a smooth, steady, uninterrupted stream. I never realized how much buffeting occurs from a traditional bladed fan. This Dyson Cool Tower Fan has educated me.
There are 10 speed settings. Setting 1 is silent and moves just about enough air to extinguish a match. Each power level blows harder with a little more noise. At speed setting 10, if you’re not careful it will blow papers off a table across a room. I would describe the sound at level 10 as a whoosh. It is not even noticeable during the day with other activities going on. At bedtime, it reminds me of a quiet white noise machine. Present, but not obnoxious.
The Dyson Cool Tower Fan is lightweight – about 6 pounds – and easy to take from room to room. Fan placement and whether to oscillate are about the only things that require any thought or experimenting. Once you know where to locate it, simply set it, forget it, and enjoy the cooler feeling room.

Great Fan with Small Form Factor
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Dyson has a basic cooling fan, model AM07, available for those that need air circulation in small areas. The box includes the motor unit, the air outlet (elongated piece), plastic base, remote control, and quick user guide. The fan comes with a manufacturer's 2-year warranty.
PROS:
-----------
* The fan comes packed in the box in 3 pieces which are easy to click together.
* The fan has a very small form factor, meaning it takes up little space but packs a nice punch. The unit itself is only 7.25 inches in diameter with the wider base snap-on being 9 inches in diameter.
* As stated, it packs a nice punch with air flow ranging from power settings 1-10 (10 being the highest). As the unit puts out more power, the motor dB/sound level does increase somewhat. At night, if you have the fan set to 10, it actually creates a type of "white noise" while you sleep.
* The fan is moderately tall at 40" which would be tall enough to effect people sleeping at normal bed heights. To put that in perspective, it's a couple inches taller than a standard door knob.
* Easy to clean with a damp cloth. Cleanable areas are mostly plastic.
* If you place the remote control FACE DOWN on top of the fan, there is a magnet which will hold it in place. If you ever need the remote, it will be in plain sight and not have to put it in a drawer or in a place where animals could grab it use as a chew toy.
* There is an easy-to-read lit display on the bottom of the fan that shows the fan level (1-10). When the unit is turned off, the display is also off.
* The available sleep function times are 15m/30m/45m/1hr/2hr/3hr/4hr/5hr/6hr/7hr/8hr/9hr. This is actually a useful function as you can have it set to turn OFF just before you get out of the bed in the morning (so you don't freeze when you get out of the bed).
* If you lose the remote control or if the remote battery dies, you are able to turn ON/OFF the power, and by holding down the power button, the fan speed will change up 1 thru 10, then back down to 1 until you find your sweet spot.
CONS:
-----------
* If you lose the remote control or if the remote battery dies, the rotation function and sleep timer cannot be used. Perhaps those basic functions could have been added to the base next to the existing power button in the event the remote is not longer usable. Then another remote would not have to be purchased OR the user could still use those functions while a new remote is being purchased.
* The 2nd night I used it, there started to be a low-to-high buzzing/fluttering sound coming out of the motor. There was nothing in the fan area (when the top was removed) like a card in a bicycle wheel type scenario. I turned it back on (after checking the motor), and the sound started again, and the volume went up and down enough that I decided to turn it off for the night. I have used it 3 nights in-a-row since then, and it hasn't made that sound. If it continues in the future, I'll have to contact Dyson regarding a resolution.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
---------------------------------
* The power cord is approximately 6-ft long, and has a 2-pronged polarized plug.
* To operate the fan via remote, there needs to be line-of-sight between the remote and the BASE of the unit. That is where the IR sensor is located on the fan.
* If used a lot, the air intake vents on the base might need to be cleaned from time to time so the motor does not overheat. The vents are in an easy place to wipe off or vacuum.
* This is not an air purifier. It also does not have a "cool/heat" function. It simply has an air intake that blows existing air in the fan's facing direction.
* The remote replacement battery is a CR2032.
CONCLUSION:
=====================
Our family didn't need a super-fancy air purifier, so this fan worked out great for our needs. The extended timer (up to 9 hours) is a great feature for the purpose stated above. I do wish Dyson had implemented the timer and rotating function buttons onto the base in the event the remote becomes usable. To me, that's a pretty big "miss", given the limited functionality of the fan. Everything else about the fan is great including the ease to put it together. Overall, a solid product as one would expect from Dyson.

I've had this fan for about a week, and it's been solid. It blows really cold, and is easy to control with the remote control included.
The body of this fan is different from my previous model, I've had it for almost 5 years. While that one is a higher model, this new cool fan blows colder. It's thinner, taller, and weighs much less. Because it's just a fan, that's why it does not have the weight of my previous model. It was a heater, cooler, and ventilation model. It had a filter to be changed, and so on. This one does not, and make it easier for more people to use.
I have it on the lowest settings, and it blows super cold. I have it pointed right at me, and it's across the room. Amazing quality.
My only chance that I'm getting used to is the remote control. Whe it's just a few buttons, and I'm used to the old model. I do like this one, as it cost less and works much better for cooling.
In the end, my old gripe would be the build quality is a little less premium, and pretty much all plastic. Which makes it feel like it would break much easier Overall, I say buy it. Very quiet fan.

I absolutely love my Dyson Cool Tower Fan!!
I am a very big fan of dyson products, and one many dyson products, and this is in my top 5!!!
The fan was fairly easy to build/assemble, is not heavy and looks great.
I love the fact that it’s white which makes it look nice and clean.
I do wish the bottom of the fan (the base) was a little bit more sturdy though, but it does not affect the performance.
The remote/control is very handy because the on and off button on the actual fan can be a hassle to get to because it’s all the way on the bottom of the base.
Which by the way, don’t loose the control because then you can literally only turn the fan on or off- you won’t be able to control timer or fan speed.
Also. This fan is noisy but only on the higher speed - but it’s not the annoying noisy that you can’t hear anything else- it’s manageable and doesn’t buy me like other fans I have had.
The oscillation on this fan for some reason doesn’t work, I’m not sure why, but it’s to much of a hassle to return and I am happy with it as is.

It cools the room incredibly fast, and the airflow is smooth and consistent. I also love the remote control and the multiple speed settings—it gives me full control without ever having to leave the couch.

This review is on the "Dyson Cool-AM07 Tower Fan". In my perspective, the unique design of this particular model, compared to the models AM06 and AM08, is kind of symbolic of this product's high-tech nature. When you look at this model, you instantly recognize that it is certainly no ordinary fan. Honestly, regardless of how exorbitantly priced this product is, I just had to purchase, own, and personally experience this extraordinary approach toward providing a relieving breeze. Along with this high-tech approach toward what any ordinary fan is basically capable of doing, comes an exorbitant price. However, other quite ordinary and bulkier, yet very powerful fans, as "Vornado", are in a pricey range, too. I am, of course, not all that pleased with the fact that I could have enjoyed a good chunk of savings during the soon to follow Memorial Day sales event, which offered a $50 discount off the regular price. I placed my purchase upon this product's initial introduction, at regular pricing. To be entirely truthful, I had been definitely anticipating that this product would likely be sold at a lower cost if I simply waited a bit. Actually, models AM06, 07, and 08 were put on the market as replacements for, or improvements of, earlier released models, which had a noticeably louder noise during operation, especially at the higher speeds. Many customers bought the preceding models at an equally full price, and those models are often offered at clearance pricing now. All these newer models are unmistakably smoother and quieter during operation, though whether the louder noise of the earlier models is really a problematic issue to any customer is rather subjective. As for this, again uniquely designed, model AM07, it is an impressive fan. The manufacturer claims an improvement of significantly reduced noise, and it does run smoothly and quietly. As with cooling via any type of fan, there's the benefit of energy efficiency, but I must remark that the motor at the base, unlike conventional fan motors, doesn't seem to even become warm. At the center of the unit's base, there is one button. Most of the functions may be adjusted by directly pressing this button; though much more can be adjusted by using the accompanying remote, and certainly with more convenience. The remote can turn the unit on/off, adjust speed, timer, oscillation, etc. The remote controller is really small, and it's contoured to allow for magnetic attachment to the top of the unit. This is a helpful feature, since the size and lightweight nature of the remote leaves it vulnerable to misplacement or loss. Supposedly, additional remotes are available for purchase directly from Dyson, at a cost of approximately twenty dollars each, yet I and others have been told that such parts aren't available while these models are still in the "launch phase". I would hope that these fans will, eventually, decrease in price so as to become affordable to any consumer. Candidly, it isn't as if one cannot live without owning such an extraordinary fan, but it's surely nice to have such an attractive and fascinating product. In fact, when I am using it, I sometimes find that just looking at and pondering the unique concept and appearance is sort of fascinating, and slightly distracting from the heat, and that can additionally lend to its heat relieving capabilities. Incidentally, these fans are also a superb manner by which to accompany air-conditioning and efficiently circulate the cooled air. Further, and perhaps most important, there are no rotating blades, and the feature of a bladeless fan offers a vital element of safety. If this product can prevent injuries to children, pets, etc., everyone might concur that the expensive investment may be worth it. Well, realistically, the current pricing is rather exorbitant for the average consumer, and, again, hopefully bladeless fan products will eventually become less and less expensive. Anyway, this product is truly amazing and is pleasant to own.

I live where triple digits is common in our forecast. What's worse is my apt with a swamp cooler to help me "get through" those hot summers in the desert.(its just hot air). I was desperate to find a good cooling fan to help out the sticky and stuffy atmosphere. After researching and reading reviews, I was very Interested in this fan, but verrry skeptical of the price. Now that I have it, tried it, I am beyond happy I chanced it. It was more of an investment is how I accepted the purchase. It really does pay off. I use it everyday. My whole place is so cool and you hardly notice it with it's sleek design. It honestly produces such a cool air circulation and that's even when I only have it set on level 6 out of the level 10 it goes up to! That's with the fan alone. I have not turned on my swamp cooler at all, since I got this. I actually get cold and sometimes turn it off after an hour or so. The remote is definitely a cool little accessory as well. The fan is so quiet and has a timer and all. Assembly was soo simple. (And I'm a girl). I definitely love this fan and so does my home. I feel so much better actually coming home now and its just so much cooler inside. I know the price is a little scary, but again, think of it as an investment that definitely takes care of those unbearable hot days.

Silent yet powerful, it’s also lightweight, making it easy to move around as needed. Its sleek design allows it to be left out between uses. The remote control adds a convenient touch. It’s worth every penny, and surprisingly affordable compared to what you’d expect from a Dyson product.
