Okay, so I have literally tried them ALL! I thought with the extra 20% off today... why not!? I went to bed with wet hair and with it up (bad, I know), so when I brushed it out to a fro-ey bed head mess, I applied just a simple heat guard and straightened away (same amount of hair, passes and temperature). *Note - my hair is super thick and coarse* Not only did my GHD platinum iron straighten way faster, but it blew the Dyson by overall performance and the finished look out of the water... BY FAR! The only 1 star worthy of it, is that it is cordless! Dyson finished look is your/screen left.

Best flat iron I’ve ever used

I really can’t say enough good things about this product. Out of the box it comes in a beautiful high quality suede on the outside, satin inside carrying case. Inside you’ll also find a sturdy charging dock that doubles as a very convenient stand that you can place it on during use. The product itself is VERY well made and sturdy in your hand. Out of the box it only took about 30 minutes to charge and was ready to use. I’m an African American woman with very thick, natural, mid back length hair. With any flat iron I’ve ever used I’ve always had to turn it to the highest setting to flat iron my hair, usually 425° and sometimes THAT wasn’t even enough. I’ve attached a photo and you’ll notice on my right, my hair is brushed out with no product. On my left was me using the Carrole flat iron on 365° and only ONE swipe of the flat iron! In addition to it coming out straight with ease, I noticed my hair was also very soft instead of a burnt, coarse feeling I’ve experienced in the past. I have never in my life been able to achieve my hair being straight with so little heat and effort! It usually takes me an hour plus to fully flat iron my hair. Thanks to Dyson I am not able to achieve my desired look in about 20-30 minutes and it looks like I’ve gotten a blow out. The battery life is decent, I’ve had a wireless flat iron run out on me halfway through my hair but, with Dyson I don’t see me having that problem. Since you have to charge it after every use, I can’t really say how long it will last on a full charge since I haven’t needed it for longer than 45 minutes. The OLED display is clear and easy to read. The flat iron notifies you with beeps when it has reached your desired temperature, of the temperature decreases and just about anything else you need to know. It also has an airplane mode so you can travel safely with it in your carry on with instructions on how to use it. I’m in awe and so thankful to Dyson for creating another amazing product. This is a must buy! If it’s the price you’re concerned about, honestly it’s worth every penny and MORE. Another great product from Dyson which I’ve come to expect. You won’t regret this purchase.

Awesome straightener

I was amazed at how quickly this unit comes to temperature (about 30 seconds). It is very easy to adjust the temp to your liking. It also shows you the battery life so you can recharge before needed.
I am attaching pictures of my daughter's hair. It is naturally wavy and is currently frizzy and has lots of split ends but because of the quarantine, she is unable to get a trim. It only took about 10 minutes to straighten her THICK head of hair! The hair was smooth and the frizzes were controlled after. The shape of the unit lets you put a little curl on the end for a nice finish. This is a pricey straightener so it's for those that use a straightener daily and would get their money's worth.

Heavy weight but leaves nice shine

I was hoping this high value straightener would surpass all the issues I’ve had with other similar products, but it did not. It’s super heavy and when using it for long hair becomes quite tiring to use. The iron does heat up really quickly for use which is a plus. Unfortunately it doesn’t glide well-hangs up when pulling through my hair causing damage to some strands. After use I was pleased with the shine it left on my hair but not worth the cons that came with this product-I’ll stick with my affordable, light weight straightener even if I have to replace it once a year.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener. We're happy to head that you were pleased with how fast the straightener heats up for use, and how much shine it left to your hairs appearance.
The Corrale™ straightener uses four key pieces of technology. The flexing plates provide just the right amount of flex to gather and adapt to the hair, and also provide the tension needed for styling. The intelligent heater system delivers the required heat to the plates. Intelligent heat control regulates the temperature of the plates 100 times a second to make sure they never exceed your chosen temperature. And finally, a 4-cell lithium ion battery enables enhanced styling with cord-free versatility.
We would value the opportunity to ensure that your Dyson is performing as designed, or address any questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to email [email protected] we are happy to provide you with support.

The Dyson Corrale Hair Straightener in Vinca Blue/Rosé is a really cool hair tool. It looks great and it's cordless, so you're not tied down by a cord. It's gentle on your hair and heats up fast. It’s quite expensive, but it's a fantastic addition to your hair routine.

Unique Straightener with Great Features

The Dyson Corrale feels sturdy during use and comes with some nice features including a charging dock that doubles as a stand, a travel pouch for storage, flight-ready mode that disarms the battery, 3 precise heat settings, and the incredibly unique flexing plates.
I straightened about inch-thick strands at a time and the first swipe was very smooth and straightened my hair very nicely, sometimes I didn’t even have to do more than two swipes. Since my hair is thicker, the flexing plates give more coverage especially when applying more pressure on the plates.
I have thick curly/wavy hair with 2b on the outer layers to 2c on the under layers, sometimes even 3a depending on how healthy my hair is at the time. It takes me about 70 minutes to fully straighten all of my hair but my main use of a straightener is to accentuate curls. The unit’s round shape around the plates makes it easy to stylize waves and curls which is something I look for in a straightener and I found that in the Dyson Corrale.
The charging dock/ stand duo is pretty awesome. It’s nice being able to set down the Dyson Corrale when letting down a layer of my hair or whenever I need to adjust clips or hair strands. I find that I like using the stand more than just setting down a corded straightener on my counter. I started out wanting to somehow use the corded straightener and the stand at the same time, I’m new to the cordless feature, but I took Dysons advice and used the stand as a charging dock to intermittently charge the straightener while I adjusted hair layers or strands. It’s a small learning curve to get used to and it is nice not to have the cord in the way if that’s how you prefer to use this tool.
I enjoy being able to choose what temperature my tool heats up to. My hair stylist recommended I get a tool with temperature control and to use it at around 350 degrees Farenheit, the Dyson Corrale lets the user choose from 330F, 365F, and 410F. I defaulted to the lower setting and have been using 330F with no issues.
I found that the advertised 30-minutes of cordless use is true. I charged the Dyson Corrale to 100%, the OLED Display will show battery level (and temperature settings) as well as the LED light under the sliding lock will turn green when it’s fully charged as opposed to orange while it’s charging. It took about 20 minutes to charge fully and found that placing the straightener on the charging dock while in use will extend the overall use time.
The flight-ready mode is a great plus as I travel a few times a year. The travel/storage pouch comes with a little holder for the flight-ready tab. The pouch itself is cute and practical. The pouch does not fit the charging cord and or stand, only the straightener.
All in all, this is a very nice heating tool with cool features and I highly recommend it if you’re considering the Dyson Corrale.

Cordless wonder!

I have had this tool for a few weeks and am very pleased with it. This flat iron is like no other styling tool I have seen. The corded/cordless design affords flexibility to style your hair without the hassle of working around a cord or for those who need more than 30 minutes to achieve their desired style the option to plug it in and keep going. No clunky batteries to keep up with or recharge like the old cordless styling tools that I used as a teen. It is definitely heavier than your average flat iron, but the weight is well distributed. The iron has a locking feature to lock the sides closed for travel or whenever you might want it collapsed rather than wide open. This iron comes with its own travel case and to ensure TSA compliance for those of us who always carry our own styling tools, they even created a jumper/pin you can remove to ensure the Lithium ion battery can’t accidentally engage in your luggage, making it carry on safe! To further ensure the battery can’t accidentally engage when the iron is packed in its included travel case there is a tethered cloth flap to slip around airplane jumper pin to keep it separated from the unit. The case does not provide enough room to pack the power cord or charging base with the iron, so you will need to find space for those in a different spot when traveling. The charging base is quite sturdy and has good weight to it as well so it is an excellent support to the iron and would not be easily knocked over. The power cord is a bit bulky and seems more like what you would expect to use for a laptop than a hair tool.
To operate you press and hold the power button then press the +/- temperature button to select your heat setting. Once that is done, the iron will beep to let you know it has reached your temperature, typically takes about 30 seconds. Once you have finished using the tool, just press and hold the power button again to shut it off and the power button light will pulse until the plates have cooled down.
I have straight hair that gets unruly when it isn’t washed daily and this tool has made it possible to complete my styling on a lower heat setting (330*) in less than 5 minutes where with my other flat iron I need about 10 minutes set at 365*. The lowest heat is 330* and the highest is 410*. The flexible plates have slots/grooves in them that might catch some hair types, but overall just allow the iron to smoothly glide over your hair.
I have been able to achieve curls with greater ease than other flat irons and have really enjoyed the ability to go cordless. Yes you could buy several hair tools for the cost of this one, but none of them will be quite like this one! Love it and you will too!

This is a good cordless straightener. After using it, my hair is shiny, doesn’t smell and has a bit of volume compared to other straighteners. It is also a bit heavy and the battery doesn’t last long (~20 mins) but you can use it with the cord while is charging. Overall, I really like it and it is the best straightener I have ever used but you are also paying premium $$$ for this. If money is no objection and you straight your hair a lot then I highly recommend it.

Would give it 5 starts if it wasn’t so expensive. It’s a great straightener overall. Less passes necessary. The stand sometimes doesn’t charge the unit even though it is placed to charge. When charging you’ll notice a low frequency sound but I guess it’s normal? Others say it’s heavy. Not the case at all.

It does leave my hair pretty straight and soft but it does have its down sides. It tends to turn off out of no where even with full battery and it pulls me hair even if I don’t apply much pressure.

This is big dollars for a flat iron. But, it works well and if I put some waves in my hard to curl, fine, straight hair and the style lasts for a long while. I’ve tried GHD platinum, T3 Single pass, CHI, ion, etc. which slides through the hair easy but the styles just do not stay and the other brands make my hair flatter, if possible.
The Dyson allows you to keep some volume and results last, which is why I decided to keep it. Also, importantly, because it’s cordless. I can take it in my bag and touch up if I have an important event. Can even use it in the car or places that don’t have an outlet in a pinch. It only takes about 20-30 seconds to heat up… super fast!
I have read many reviews on this item and some folks complain about the battery life lasting 30ish minutes. Since my hair is baby fine, I’ve been able to use it three or four times on the same charge but many times just a touch up or to fix a bend in second day hair.
Lastly, I have the Dyson blow dryer, the AirWrap and now the Corrale. My ride or die product is the Airwrap…followed by the Corrale…
I’ve bought all of these items myself and hope this review helps others agonizing over the dilemma of whether or not to spend the money.

I have been waiting 12 years for a cordless straightener to come out. back when I had the idea there was no such thing. now I think there r a few options from other companies. I was willing to pay $500 for a cordless straightener bc if I spend the hour it takes just to get it from start to finish (not including the time it takes with all the shower essentials) I dont want to leave the house with great hair and get stuck in the Florida humidity or the afternoon quick rains without being able to touch it up on the run. IN MY CAR!!! granted its heavy... heavier then u would like but if u have a battery that big, its going to need to b heavy. so the lowest setting is 330 degrees. my hair weighs a ton. it super long and extremely thick. I ran this thru my hair today in less time then it took to kill the battery, but I purposely kept going bc im a crazy person who never charges anything till it is completely dead, and it was way less time then my old straightener. it did take 2 passes... 3 in the front bc that's where I like it to b most straight. my hair is much softer and silkier then my previous straightener that has now found itself in the trash. I suggest the warranty ($80) bc its cordless and u no what that means.... eventually it will loose its stamina in the battery department and at some point IT WILL FALL ON THE FLOOR!!

I love my straightener from the first time I used it. Being cordless makes the world of difference in styling or curling your hair. My hair is about shoulder length so with shorter layers I can't make the curls like I would like to but will be able to soon. My hair grows pretty fast. What I can do is curl the top of my hair and bangs with this straightener. I was never able to make curls with other straighteners so I was amazed how easy it was to use. I debated to whether to spend that kind of money but after days of research I went for it and so so glad I did. So people complain it is heavy and full charge last about 30 minutes. I use it and place it back on the charger after each section while I'm moving to another section and never have I ran out of charge. For the most part if it takes you longer than 30 minutes to straighten or curl your hair maybe you are not doing it right. In the past I would put the heating setting on high but I use medium with this one. My hair is not hot to the touch. If you use product in your hair like heat protectant then it is possible to see steam coming from your hair but it isn't too hot it is the product.

The Corrale heats up in less than a minute, goes thru my very curly and damaged hair with ease. Leaves my hair soft and frizz free. I love that its cordless some may say its heavy, but not having to deal with a cord is a bonus to me. I wish the product was a little cheaper, but since it works I think its worth it.

I was like a kid on Christmas. I opened the box and put it together quickly and easily. After I charged a bit, I was ready to play. I usually get keratins to make my hair frizz free but I may never need another one again. This is amazing. My hair is so soft and silky. I’ve attached a picture. I have the hairdryer and the Airwrap also. Dyson never disappoints.

I have 2 parts to this review:
1) I ordered online and picked it up at the store as a christmas gift for my wife. When I went home, I noticed that the seals of the package was already opened and also the inside. There were finger prints all over the straightener. I went back and gave me another box which was also already opened. They wouldn't give me an 'open box' discount. Customer service was useless.
2) The straightener is nice. Not sure yet if it's worth the price. Pros is that it is cordless and charges and heats up very fast. Cons: price and heavy.

I have purchased all of the Dyson haircare items for my wife and she loves them all. This was purchased as a mother's day gift and while it is very pricey, it's a fantastic product and she loves it. It is a little heavy, but she loves that it is wireless. The product heats up quickly, but doesn't take forever to cool down. The included mat and stand make it safer to place in a location that little hands can't reach up and pull it off the counter. Overall, if you have any of the other Dyson haircare items, you won't be disappointed with this one. I really think it should be about $100 cheaper, but you are paying for a quality item. Guys, if you want to hit a homerun in the gift giving department, buy this for your wife/daughter/mom. You will be the champion gift giver guaranteed!

I was very excited about this flat iron..I mean it’s Dyson..and I do like it but I am not amazed by it..however, for this much money, I think I should be amazed..
Great things about it: cordless, so I don’t have to wonder if I turned it off when I am not home. Quality is good- leaves hair nice and shiny looking.
Meh things about it: size- definitely shorter plates than most flat irons. My hair is fine and I have to charge it after two uses..it is heavier than most other ones but not too bad..
