We have three Keeshond dogs. If you're not familiar with the breed, they have very thick double coats. They blow their coat out twice a year. This vacuum is perfect for whole house touch-ups or for full house cleanings. It has three power levels and honestly, on the strongest setting, it's tough to move on the floor (carpet or hardwood) because the suction power is very strong. I use it daily and mostly on the low setting. I can get about an hour of use on mixed surfaces (pile carpets, runners and hard floors (tile & wood)). I absolutely love this machine. Great power, awesome tools and cordless! I am not disappointed at all. If I had to say something negative about it, it would be that the package I purchased included several extra tools/attachments, and there is no storage for all of them provided. Luckily I was able to purchase a wall mount storage caddy online for about $10.

I got my 1st Dyson vacuum a few decades ago, 2nd a decade later. Both still work good, 1 upstairs 1 downstairs. This new cordless Dyson is much better. I may never use the others again.

This is not just a regular run of the mill vacuum. This is top of the line. Worth every dollar spent. It is so light weight and versatile. It takes some getting used to at 1st. But once you do you feel like you are not even doing house chores. Dyson is the only vacuum I would recommend. I can’t even remember the other vacuum company names. The picture shown is with the Dyson Dok.

I currently have a Dyson stick V6 and the upgrade to a V10 is nice step up. They are some differences in the configuration now, but the benefits are more power, capacity, and duration. The unit comes with a bunch of accessories, 3 powered brush type devices, and the rest are just suction. The extension pole carries power to the accessory if needed. The powered soft pad one worked great on my hardwood floors. Picked up pet hair to debris with no problems and no scratches. The other powered cleaning tools are for carpet, one is full length and the other about half the size for tight areas. All work well, the ones will balls roll easily and the whole unit can be laid almost flat to get under furniture. On stairs whether with powered or suction only accessories the device had great suction and cleaned well. The canister is bigger than the V6 (40% or more I think from the brochure) and they did it by changing the way it empties. On the V6 and V8, you hit a lever and the bottom releases. The intake is to the front of the device. Now, the release is to the front of the device too. So, you have to take off any attachments in order to empty the bin. Not a big deal overall. The release is easy, and canister moves forward and then the hinge is pushed releasing the door to let the dirt out. It’s a cleaner operation than on the V6. The dirt doesn’t stay in the container as much. The battery is a little bigger on the V10, but it goes to 60 minutes. A lot better than the 15 minutes on the V6. The power stayed consistent for long runs with multiple canister emptying. It still has a filter, it’s on the top rear now and with a small twist pops right off. Needs to be cleaned once a month per the instructions. One of the best parts of the setup was the fact that the V10 wall charging unit uses the same distance on the screw holes as the V6, so no drilling new holes. Just remove the old and put in the new. The V10 also has a multi LED charge indicator. The unit is light, didn’t feel heavier than the V6, but with the canister on the front of the head unit and with an attachment the balance is a different in your hand, but that is something to just get used too. Dyson wants this to be the only vacuum you need. For a smaller house or apartment, I think it could do it. For a larger house, I’m glad I have the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Allergy vacuum. The main reason is the canister size. Although the V10 is powerful, the canister is still small compared to an upright. Stopping to empty it would be a pain trying to do a whole floor or more. The powered accessories are a plus over the upright, but with pets, the V10 canister still fills up fast. The upright is more powerful too, but different tools for different jobs. For a portable cordless vacuum, the V10 does it all. I included a picture of the V6 (yellow) and V10 (blue plastic is the filter that twists off) next to each other and the V10 opened. The bottom half of the V10 canister is about the max fill line.

Dyson Cyclone v10 Setup/Testing/Conclusion I’m going to first start off by saying Dyson did a great job with the materials and craftsmanship of the Dyson Cyclone v10. I enjoyed the packaging they used and it honestly hooked me and would hook other consumers as well. I personally feel like it's really important for a company to market their product by creating an attractive packaging to contain the beauty of whatever it is they’re selling. Dyson definitely nailed that here. Although majority of the parts are plastic (the exception is the extension tube), the build quality feels sturdy and the Dyson Cyclone v10 looks sleek. Once you open up the box and take all the parts out, it’s honestly really easy to put together. I first plugged in the Dyson Cyclone v10 to give it a full charge. A full charge typically takes approximately 3.5 hours. I highly recommend going over the operating manual because it tells you how to do a lot of different things such as attaching the attachments, how to empty the bin, how to wash the parts that could be washed, the different modes/functions, and of course proper safety guidelines. Now to the usage. I got about an hour of usage on a full charge. I tested the Cyclone v10 on carpet and hardwood floors. First, I will state that the Cyclone v10 definitely did an excellent job cleaning my carpet and hardwood floor. My wife sheds on the regular and her hair is basically everywhere throughout the house. The Cyclone v10 had 0 issues picking up her hair and not only that, it didn’t get tangled anywhere. Both the torque drive cleaner head (for carpets) and the soft roller cleaner head (for hard surfaces) glided with ease. I love the fact that the Cyclone v10 is cordless yet has the power and suction of a corded vacuum. Squeezing the trigger to activate the Cyclone v10 is honestly pretty fun and cool. It makes a sound when you let go of the trigger, to be honest it reminds me of a ray gun or something; long story short I like it. The Cyclone v10 is not loud at all. I’ve owned several different vacuum cleaners in my lifetime. The Cyclone v10 is not loud at all so if you need to use it for a quick clean when it’s late, you shouldn’t be too worried about bothering your neighbors. Cleaning the Cyclone v10 is also relatively easy and the filter along with the head(s) are washable (read the manual folks!). Now to the personal problems I have with the Cyclone v10. The only three things I’m not too fond of on the Cyclone v10 is the bin capacity, charge/usage, and the manual. The bin doesn’t last too long, I found that I needed to empty it about 15 minutes in to cleaning one room. I mean my house isn’t THAT dirty but the max fill line gets filled pretty quickly. With the corded vacuum I have, you can vacuum the entire house before you have to empty it. Granted the vacuum I have prior to the Cyclone v10 is bigger, bulkier, and heavier. The other problem I mentioned was listed above. So with a 3.5 hour charge, the Cyclone v10 only lasts about an hour. If you have a two story house with several rooms, you will not be able to get your entire house cleaned with one full charge. I purchased the previous model for my mom to clean her house and that was her main complaint; not being able to clean the entire house with a full charge. Although the Cyclone v10 charges in 3.5 hours instead of 5 hours like the v8, 3.5 hour charge to give you 1 hour of cleaning isn’t really enough time to completely clean a house. The last problem I have is with the manual. In my personal opinion, there’s not enough explanation in there. There’s a lot of illustration with “clik” here and there but there’s literally not much written explanation/instructions. So for example the 2 brush heads that came with the Cyclone v10, what are you supposed to use them for? The manual doesn’t explain it anywhere. I mean I’m not asking for paragraphs and paragraphs. The illustrations are nice but I feel like some more written explanation/instructions would’ve been helpful to new users. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy using the Cyclone v10. It honestly has a very strong motor and does an excellent job cleaning. I had 0 issues vacuuming long hair that my wife sheds and had 0 issues picking up anything and everything on my floor. No real complaints there. As mentioned above, the only personal problems I have with the Cyclone v10 is the bin capacity, the charge/usage, and the manual. Would I recommend this to a friend or relative? Definitely. Because the Cyclone v10 does indeed do a good job with cleaning. But, would I tell them of the personal problems I came across with it? Absolutely. This way the person purchasing the item would know the ins and outs of the product. In conclusion, I feel like Dyson has definitely made an improvement over their last model. But as always, there’s always room for even more improvement. With this company’s great reputation and excellent marketing, my wife and I were eager to purchase our first Dyson vacuum. And at first this device seems like a godsend, as it was able to do a great job cleaning our wood floors and area rugs. However, within five months the motorized head began to self-destruct. Whenever we ran it there is the smell of burning plastic and shards of gray and purple plastic went everywhere. I’ve tried communicating with Dyson customer service. They are polite, but unhelpful. And you know what, there’s no way to replace this on your $700 device. Dyson won’t sell it to you, local repair shops don’t have access to it. Basically you end up with a very expensive stick they can suck air. Avoid this product until they create parts that will last.

    Almost replaces a corded vacuum

I bought this dyson vacuum because it is such a chore to struggle with my unwieldy corded canister vac. We heat with wood and constantly have ashes and dust on the floor. The dyson is fairly light, and I don't need to find multiple outlets for the cord to reach. This unit is not exactly cord-free, because you need to charge the battery. It comes with a wall mounted charging station which needs to be installed near a source of power. The machine has pretty decent suction on the moderate and high levels, and will pick up light dust and debris at the low setting. The higher the power, the sooner the battery dies. Cleaning is easy enough so that I empty the bin every time I use it. There is a washable filter that needs to be cleaned periodically. I had to clean mine after about 2 weeks of daily use, but I have been told that this is because the vacuum does such a good job that during the first few weeks the dirt accummulation may be very heavy until the background dirt is removed. The filter is easy to clean, but needs to air dry for 24 hours, meaning that you can't use the machine during that time unless you spend $50-75 on a second filter. This vacuum could have earned five stars from me except for: 1. The battery is not removable and does not last long enough for me to do the entire house on one charge. My most used attachment is the soft roller, sort of like a paint roller tube in a motorized floor attachment. There are three different motorized tools, and they use extra power, shortening the life of a charge. Dyson says that a medium setting will last an hour before the battery is discharged. It seemed to me that I was able to vacuum for about 20 minutes using the soft roller, and then would abruptly stall out and need to be charged for a few hours before the battery is restored. The soft roller is my favorite motorized tool, although my vacuum set also contains a large and small motorized floor attachment. The limited battery life is the major issue with these vacuums. 2. There are several attachments. I have yet to figure out how to store them, so they sit in a pile on the floor. But there is a wall mountable charging rack that can hold a couple of attachments, and I intend to make a holder of some sort. 3. The attachments are a little difficult to switch out. A flexible tab needs to be pushed in to release them. Installing them is literally a snap. 4. The power trigger can't be locked. This is by design to preserve power, but really should be the operator's choice. 5. As mentioned, the filter is washed with water and needs to be dried out before use. A second filter would solve this. All in all, I doubt I will ever use a corded vac again, unless I am desperate to complete a job and the battery is empty. Dysons are pretty pricy, but worth it to me. Just make the battery removable and you will get that last star.

    Replaced my conventional vacuum cleaners

The variety of attachments, the portability, and the lack of a cord were the main reasons to get this model. With the old, conventional vac. cleaners from a well-known (and much more expensive) manufacturer, the process of changing different heads was too cumbersome, let alone the vacuum itself was too heavy to carry around. I knew this model worked about 6-7 min. at the max. power suction setting; however, I had to use this mode only once--to clean the entrance rug; for the rest places, the medium setting was more than enough (about 40 minutes). I'd even say, that on hardwood floor, the lowest setting will do the job just as well). Most importantly, with all the attachments that come with the model, I can pick up dust from virtually any surface, and that's its beauty. I'm not sure, however, that this vacuum is designed to remove significantly dirtied surfaces, but for such jobs, I think renting a semi professional vacuum from a hardware store would be still a better choice than using a conventional (even the most powerful) vacuum. For casual, daily/weekly cleaning, I think Dyson is a dream come true. One concern that still bothers me is that its battery does not seem to be replaceable (readily swappable). Which may mean that, over time, the battery will degrade and the entire unit will be good for nothing. I've read that Dyson provides a 2-year warranty on the battery and that it can be technically replaced, although no battery replacements currently available for consumers. I hope that they will come up with battery replacements for this model and which consumers will be able to install independently.

The saying you don't know how dirty your home is until you get a Dyson is so true. I live in a 3 floor home (2 with carpeting). It is just the 2 of us and no animals. We had a well-known pet vacuum (because I always thought they would be best if they dealt with pet hair, etc.) and vacuum a couple times a week. We charged the Dyson V10 Absolute out of the box, when fully charged, my fiance tasted it out on our steps, which had just been cleaned two days prior. I was beyond disgusted and in complete awe of how much dirt came out of just a few steps. We are able to clean all three floors of the house one the low setting without running out of battery. I love how lightweight and powerful this vacuum is. The fact that it is cordless is beyond amazing. I can take it from the how to vacuuming out my SUV if needed. There is literally an attachment for everything you need included with this vacuum. The price tag took me a while to come over to the brand, but the quality, convenience and ability make it worth it. Great buy.

With Dyson cutting the cord on all their models I was sceptical. This is an excellent vacuum, has plenty power and is extremely easy to use. Recently my mother visited and asked for our broom to sweep up after our toddler made a mess. I laughed and said here use the v10. She instantly fell in love with it and vacuumed the entire floor instead of just the mess from the 1 year olds lunch. There are a few things Dyson could do to improve; 1: have a detachable battery (like a drill) if the battery dies you are done until you recharge. 2: the wall bracket that comes with the machine should house or hold all attachments not only 2. 3: would be nice to have a trigger lock (also like a drill) adding those features would make it a 5 star machine.

Wow! Always owned a heavy corded Windtunnel most of my life. I loved it because it is built strong and the suction was just excellent. I could always count on it However, lugging this vacuum to the second level and to do stairs was just such a chore. It was too bulky and the cord was never too long to find a outlet and the wire was always in the way. All of these issues are now in the past. I resisted purchasing the DYSON V10 Absolute due to price for some time, but the Recent $100 off was just too much to pass up. Now that I have used this item for a month, I can never go back to a corded vacuum. The vacuum has a lot of suction power and is so nimble. The floor attachments for hardwood floor and carpet just turns so easily and is very easy to maneuver. I can go under beds so effortlessly. It is such low profile. Getting rid of cobwebs on the ceiling corners is so easy now! Although the commercials showing how easy it is to dump the dirt. But in real life when you have a full canister and has a lot of hair. I use a small stick to finesse it out. Not a big deal for me. After using the product, I can tell the product is well designed and for a powerful vacuum is quiet compared to my previous vacuums. I actually enjoy vacuuming now and do it several times a day since I have a couple of kids. Just going anywhere without the cord holding you back is absolutely fabulous. The 2 year warranty out of the box is excellent! I read reviews about the downside of battery life and maybe in a few years the batteries will last a lot longer on a single charge. However, the batteries last long enough to do my house. The battery life issues is compensated by all the numerous benefits I spoke about earlier. It changed the face of my housework! Happy with my purchase.

Dyson products are not inexpensive. If you are willing to pay the cost such as this Cyclone V10 Absolute Cord-Free Stick Vacuum, it's worth the cost. This is a light, super powerful vacuum that is not corded. Find that I actually will sweep/clean more often as it's easy and efficient. Had an older model for years...and this is a terrific progression of technology and improvements. This particular model is not the computerized one, but the price of this one is also $200 less. I can manage just fine for the difference.

I'm a fairly clean person. I own the Dyson upright Multi-floor vacuum already and try to get my whole house at least once a week. However, the mere thought of lugging it up and down the stairs, plugging it in, tangling the cord, running over the cord with the vacuum, getting the cord caught on literally everything deters me from cleaning more frequently. I thought, let's give the cordless thing a try. When I say that this has changed my attitude toward cleaning, it really doesn't do this thing justice. Aside from looking like a weapon used by invading aliens, I have nothing to say about this machine but BUY IT NOW. Baseboards? There's an extension for that. Cobwebs caught in a chandelier? There's an extension for that. Bare floor, hardwood, carpet - no dirt can hide. And the sheer convenience of grab and go has made me clean far more frequently and here are two things that stand out the most: I now do a light clean every other day and am alarmed not by just the amount of gunk that I get up each time, but the fine particulate dust that we inevitably are breathing in without realizing. I feel strongly that the air quality in my home is improved. Additionally - the surfaces in my house that previously gathered dust have FAR LESS dust demonstrating that this actually reduces the amount of accumulation and when I checked my HVAC filter lo and behold - much cleaner than it would have been for the time I've had it in previously. I can blah blah blah about the battery life and the sucks per minute but all I can say is that it's worth the price. It works phenomenally. You'll clean more often than you ever have before and that's an investment in your health. And, if you find yourself looking forward to waking up early, attaching the roller brush and tackling your stairs don't say I didn't warn you.

I've only had this vacuum for a day, and was so blown away in using it for the first time I had to write a review. I live in a 3 story townhouse with my german shepherd and keeping the house clean with a dog that sheds is a constant chore. I have two corded Oreck vacuums and love everything about them, but they are heavy and when you are having to lug a 15 pound object up and down the stairs and switch between the handheld and regular vacuums and plug them in, unplug, move to another outlet, etc...its a pain. Not to mention the noise they make, which freaks my dog out. So I took the plunge and bought this rather expensive vacuum hoping it would be more functional. This completely exceeded expectations and if you are in a similar living situation you do not know what you missing. First off, everything about the vacuum from the way it feels in your hands to the ease of switching out attachments and emptying the canister feels precision engineered to perfection and well thought out (as one would expect for the price). It makes me WANT to clean, which is saying alot because I hate cleaning. On low power, I was able to vacuum most my floors, rugs, carpet, and furniture in less than 30 minutes without breaking a sweat. I ended up with about 10 canisters of dust and dog hair from the first clean...I had no idea what my other vacuums werent picking up! I was almost appalled how my seemingly clean house was in fact hiding enough dog hair to make a sweater. And these results were achieved on just the low power setting. I will have to see how it stands up over time, but I feel like my house will be clean at last and what was a constant chore will be quick and effortless. You get what you pay for with this product, and that's a darn good vacuum. I tip my hat to you Dyson.

I was totally against buying this since a. It is too expensive for a vacuum cleaner b. I thought it would be heavy. Well, I was wrong. It was really easy to use and the convenience of cord free really won me over. It is almost enjoyable to vacuum now. This is not perfect yet as the battery would not last long enough for the whole house (it lasts only 6 to 7 minutes on Max mode, but I have learned not to use the mode). Also it is still too expensive in my opinion.

I have 2 sets of stairs in my house and appreciate the ease of cleaning them. Light weight and with the crevice tool I can get the whole thing cleaned in a matter of minutes. Very powerful. When I seen what came out of the dirt cup, I am a believer. This is not a replacement for my regular vacuums, but a great in between job or before & after a party, quick pickup. We like how light weight and how powerful the suction is on the vacuum. We thought we had a relatively clean carpet and have vacuumed more dirt than we expected. I like to disconnect the long piece and use it to vacuum vehicles. It is very powerful and easier to use than a commercial vacuum at a car wash.

I would recommend this to a friend
