The performance is very good for the first year, but you need to change the filter constantly to get a good result. After 1 year, you can use it for 45 minutes at medium setting, but after 1 year, this has decreased to 30 minutes and even 25 minutes now. I think they want us to spend $500-$600 on vacuums every two years.

Great cordless vacuum

This particular one is really good for small jobs, like dust in small areas. While the battery will last for quite a while, I did find that the weight of the motor in hand is significant and my hand would ache if I did my whole 1-bed carpeted apartment with this. The portability is also great for using this to clean the floor mats and other areas of car interiors.

I have hardwood floors and tile throughout the house, along with throw rugs. I have two heavily shedding dogs, so I use this vacuum daily. It’s a game changer to go cordless. The only issue I have run into is the filter needs to be washed out occasionally and has to completely dry. Since I use this daily, it would be nice to have two filters.

Good vacuum with a horrible battery life

Battery life is horrible! After a full charge it completely dies out after less than 30 minutes at Level2 power so I can barely finish a room and I have to wait for about 3 hours to start cleaning again so I’m spending the whole weekend vacuuming. Good for a studio apartment or a dorm room but definitely not a house.

Posted .Hello RW, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Dyson Cyclone V10. Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date.
