Get Super Powers With The Dyson DC59

Now I have had stick vacuums in the past, in fact, I have the predecessor to this Dyson model, which I have loved having. But I must say, the power that this new Dyson has, takes my old Dyson to the cleaners, so to say. With a Dyson, I love that they have more suction power than other vacuums I have owned, and with the Dyson DC59, you get 3 times the suction power than you get with a ordinary vacuum! I also appreciate that I can get 26 minutes worth of use on a single charge, so when the kids, animals, or even my husband come tracking in dirt and mud on my freshly cleaned floors, I can pull my Dyson DC59 down off of the charger, and eliminate that dirt that mysteriously showed up on my floors. I can also follow after a snack time with Wyatt, go over the trail of crumbs he left behind, and clean up any evidence! Aside from the fact that this vacuum really does "suck", and that it is easy to take down from the charging station, use then put back on, I love the motor in this vacuum. I mean, my husband can go on and brag about the motor in his muscle car, but at least the V6 motor on my vacuum, does more than his does! I get more suction power than the V2 my other one had, it also performs just like a upright vacuum, and with the 2 Tier Radial Cyclone Technology, that is brought to the cordless vacuum for the first time, I have a machine that actually does work and that I do not have to spend hours under the hood on either! Another feature that I really like is the re-engineered brush bar, which is great for both hard floors and carpet cleaning, making it easy for me to truly follow those trails of dirt and crumbs as they go from carpet to hard floors! And with the Dyson DC59 weighing only 4.65 pounds, I can truly feel like a super woman, I mean, I do not see my husband being able to lift up his vehicle with a V6 motor, eliminate the dirt in the house, and effortlessly place it back up on the wall! So if you are looking not only for a stick vacuum that can not only get the job done, but that is also lightweight, then head to your local Best Buy today and get the new Dyson DC59!

The power on the Dyson is amazing. The suction is great, The vacuum is lightweight and easy to handle which is a great plus. the big drawback is that it only lasts for about 6 minutes on boost or 10. They say 20 but I only timed it at 10 minutes. It is the best to get cat and dog hair out of rugs. I have what I thought was the most powerful built in (the walls) vac in my home, but Dyson does a better job on the pet hair on the oriental rugs.

This is a great cordless vacuum that picks up with amazing suction. It hangs easily on a wall in a convenient place near an outlet (mine is in a utility closet which fortunately does have an outlet). It assembles in a snap and empties easily. Although it is expensive, I feel the ease of use and convenience justifies the price.

I use it every single day. The battery lasts long enough to clean whole rooms easily and still has enough left to clean other places in the house too. It's plenty powerful enough to pick up most stuff in one pass, but I habitually do it twice anyway. I use it to clean the car too, since it's turbo mode is awesome and of course it's still cordless. Super good at picking up cat hair too! I even use it to suck up the occasional spider who finds his way to my ceiling! My only real complaint, besides price, is that there is a little gap on the hinge of the canister that the door drops open on; that hinge provides lots of room for small dust and particles to fall back out when the bin is not completely empty and hung back on the wall. Numerous times I've dropped cat litter on the floor from that small hole, only to have to suck it up again, then place my finger over the hinge while I dump it out. The one odd thing I noticed was when I opened up the package. For some reason, they provide this awesome wall mount that's really easy to use, but they don't provide any screws to mount the wall mount with!!! They even provide a nice mounting diagram with exact measurements between the screw points (5 inches). But no screws. What the heck? I had to go to Lowes to buy screws just for this one task. Then finding a wall that had both easy access to a wooden stud and immediate access to an outlet was a little more difficult in my house, but that's really not their fault, I just happen to have a lot of block external walls and not many interior wooden walls. Otherwise, GREAT vacuum.

Best Vacuum I have ever owned

This vacuum is light, portable, compact and can fit into my the useless space between my fridge and wall (otherwise known as the dusty bunny collector). It’s a cordless vacuum cleaner with a slim design and a weight of only 4.65lbs. It has a fantastic pivoting head that makes it easy to vacuum at any angle without having to contort yourself into strange positions. When fully charged, the Dyson DC59 has a 26 minute clean time which is perfect for zipping through our smaller house or an apartment. Thanks to it’s V6 motor, 2 Tier Radial cyclones and a re-engineered battery, the Dyson DC59 Animal can suck up as much dust as a corded vacuum. Don’t mistake this for your hand vacuum from your past – this puppy easily transitions from floor to upholstery and has some serious suction. I have tried several types on vacuums on our couch and NONE (including another upright Dyson) worked as well as the DC59! The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

I think that this vacuum works better than my Dyson ball. Seems to have better suction. I bought it because I was looking for something easy to use on my stairs and to pick up dog and cat hair with ease. The fact that it is cordless makes it much easier to use. No more hassle with a cord. The only downsides are the short battery life and the length of time it takes to recharge. Most of the time I can still vacuum my entire 1600sq house on one charge so I am content. The battery takes 3.5 hrs to recharge when it is empty.

I love how well it picks up, as good or better than most corded vacuums. The only downsides I see are the high price (as much as the best Dyson corded vacuum), and the run time is a little too short. You can barely vacuum a decent sized bedroom on one charge. If you are doing a spot vacuum, it is fine, if you are doing a good, thorough cleaning, you may need to do a section at a time. Overall, I really like the vacuum, especially the portability and flexibility of the design.

As far as its ability to pick up dirt, it bests any vacuum I've owned short of an all-out shop vac. Mix in how crazy light it is, cordless, bagless, and the fact that you clean the filter via running water in the sink, nothing comes close to it. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it. If the DC59 is on your list of possibilities, you will be doing yourself a tremendous disservice buying anything else.

This is an excellent product from Dyson. It is very lightweight and easy to use. Very useful attachments that are easy to put on and take off. It is cordless and rechargable - not having a cord is great! Unfortunately, it only stays charged for a short period of time. This would not be a good choice for your main vacuum. It's great for "touch ups" and hard to reach places.

I have not paid over $200 for a vacuum, but I did the research on vacuum cleaners before I purchased one. I need a vacuum that was great for multi pet (3 pet), I also wanted a cordless vacuum, lite weight, great for either carpet or hard woods, extended battery life. The Dyson DC59 was the vacuum that fit all of the above. My husband almost had a heart attack when I told him I ordered it. NOW HE SAYS IT IS THE BEST MONEY WE HAVE EVERY SPEND. HE WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYBODY AND HE DOES. When friend come to our home the first thing he does is demonstrates how great the vacuum is. He vacuum everyday. We have been married 38 year I wish I would have purchased it 38 years ago.

I bought this at a significant discount and told myself 'well I can try it out and if it wasn't worth the money I'll return it' Several months later, I use it almost daily (we have a dog). Even our cleaning lady has stopped taking out our larger vacuum - and she gets the house cleaner than before because the floors are cleaner day to day. I absolutely love the light weight and the amazingly powerful suction. I anticipated we would use it for little touch up cleaning between maid visits, but it's so easy to use its almost replaced our larger Oreck. It seems as though lots of people in reviews don't get much run time out of the battery. We consistently get 20 minutes or more with non-motor tools on it and about 15 minutes with motor tools, especially if you lay off the trigger when you aren't actively picking up dirt. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to keep their house clean between maid visits. It was worth every penny and works very well. It is so light and easy to use there's almost no excuse not to vacuum daily if you own pets. It is also much more convenient than lugging out a huge heavy vacuum for dry spills and messes and works just as well or better.

I really like my new vacuum, I would love it if the holding canister was a little bit bigger but one can't have it all. It is lightweight. Very convenient not to have to drag around a pesky cord. Does excellent going from tile to carpet to linoleum back to carpet. All in all very happy with my purchase. A little on the pricey side but I waited until it was on sale.

The Dyson DC59 is easy to install and use. My wife really really likes it for our two story home. The only problem we have faced is that dust gets lodged up at the top of the cannister and cannot be easily removed. I think I will have to take it apart to get the dust out periodically. Ordinarily, it should be easy to get the dust out, Dyson almost got it perfect, except that there is a spot where it gets stuck and builds up. Regarding the install: It was easy. I have ours hung on a wall in a closet and permanently plugged in there. I wanted it near an outlet and there wasn't one in that closet, so I installed one of those too. You do need to get some decent wall anchors, but those are both cheap and easy to use nowadays. Regarding the use of the DC59. It is both easy and efficient.

Cleans floors with dust better than my big Dysons. Picks up up dog hair on short pile carpet better than my big Dysons. Attachments don't have a lot of sucking power. The magic is in the soft brushes. Disadvantage is that it looks like with regular use you will need a replacement brush roller once a year. Also this is expensive! I like it though and kept it. Great for quick clean ups and we have 3 dogs. Canister needs to be removed usually to fully clean out which is a pain. Excellent on bare floors only good on some short pile carpets.

Good Vacuum but a few issues

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is my 5th Dyson and 2nd cordless unit. First one ever that requires routine maintenance at least for me. After two months use I noticed it was leaving 'scratch' marks on my hardwood floors! Yikes! Looking closer the two small concentric 'wheels' at the pivot point where very abraded and were leaving marks on my floors. I then realized that my tile floor - which is rough slate style tile - had abraded those little saucer wheels and then the rough edges on them was marking up my wood floor when I moved to that part of the house. NOT GOOD. And not warranted. $1.99 EACH from Dyson. At this rate I'll be out $24/yr putting new tires on the Dyson or I'll need two units, one for tile, one for wood. This plus the tiny dirt compartment plus the battery only lasts 5-6mins on high speed. It's a great little dog hair picker-upper but for the price, I think it's going to be returned.

This vacuum cleaner is very light and great to use on both tile and carpet! I have tried many and this one is the top of my list. The one negative thing I would say about it is that you have to hold the trigger the whole time while vacuuming which is not awful as the battery only last the advertised 20 minutes so it could be worse. Needs a trigger lock but I think that it would decrease the battery as you stop and start.

Love not having to deal with a cord and then to be able to get such great suction is wonderful. I had the Dyson 44 previously and then upgraded to the 59. The "on" button on the 59 is much more comfortable than the 44 and the cleaning head is wider.....like that a lot!! If you have the money, it sure makes life easier than having to deal with a big corded vacuum for some little job!!

I have had this vacuum for 3yrs now. It is Fantastic. Lightweight, versatile, and the Dyson company has been the greatest. Every time I have had an issue ,including last week they have walked me through getting it working again. The mechanical parts are still running like new and I use this machine almost everyday having a dog with tile floors. My issues always came down to operator error or a simple piece of tape stuck in the tube I didn't see. I highly recommend this product and the company and if it ever does quit working will buy another.

I hate vacuuming, so when I say that this made this awful task extremely easy, I want you to fully grasp what I am saying. Never runs more than 25 minutes. Love it. Means I vacuum regularly but since it's a point & shoot and throw aside tool, I never 'vacuum' anymore. Mindless task now. Great for folks who get super OCD when they pick up a cleaning tool and spend the next 3 hours cleaning.
