The Dyson cool air purifier works as Dyson describes. It can auto sense particulates in the air and adjust automatically to remove them. I have the device near the kitchen and when I fry food, burn something in the oven, etc, the purifier senses this and kicks-in and ramps up working to clean the air. As the number of particulates in the air drop, the fan ramps back down (if you have it set to auto). The purifier does a great job of removing smells from the room. You can control the fan with your smartphone as well as set a schedule for it to run. The smartphone app lets you see the history of how clean your air is. If there is a downside to the purifier, it is rather large (it takes a good amount of space on a table/desk).

Just a fan. Pushes air more than taking in and filtering. Wish I waited for the newer model that recently came out.

Had this for 3 months before the motor started whirring/screaming after running on "Auto". It is attractive, but too noisy, and the fan doesn't sufficiently circulate air. Swapped it under warranty for one of the towers, although it would've been nice if the desktop model had just kept working.

got this 2 days ago without a power cord or instructions manual. Tried calling best buy twice, but on hold for 2 hours and no one has answered yet. If I get the power cord and can use this then I can update this review.

It makes lots of noise, the circulating is a defect.

I tested this fan out because well... a blade-less fan is just awesome. The unboxing was straight forward enough with minor assembly required (attaching the hidden filters on the sides). I down loaded the app but only use it when I am too lazy to get up and find the remote. However, the data it provides is cool and for me was refreshing that I have decent air quality in my home. The fan works like most fans offering variable speeds (1-10), tilt, and the option to oscillate. With the two major Dyson features ever present. Which are, no visible spinning blades, and clean air filters. I really cannot say a whole bunch about the filters; since there are really no telltale signs they are working say for the fan's display and the data provided by the app. I will noted in its favor that the room smells clean (might be in my head) and I have been dusting less. As for the fan performing as fan, the amount of air output and 10-speed selection can please most. I do think though, that the higher speeds are louder than I would have anticipated from a superior name such as Dyson but maybe too, that is just their good marketing over the past few years. The fan offers another feature that will change which way the air blows much like a ceiling fan. Not much more to comment on here... It is a Perfect fan that will generate clean air, cooling air, conversation, and surely be a focal point in any room.

Impressed. This sums up my feelings towards this air purifier/fan. Yes, you are getting your money's worth. This is clearly the biggest factor, and de-motivator for that matter, for people considering purchasing this product. This is the best fan/air purifier I've ever owned. Right off the bat it's an aesthetically pleasing marvel. It will look good in your house, regardless of it's surrounding decor. It's also built with nothing but quality components and materials. In terms of performance, this thing delivers. This is the only fan that has truly done an outstanding job circulating the air in my room. It's unique designs allows for the best air projection i've seen yet in any fan.The engineering that went into this is bar none. What I absolutely love about this purifier/fan is that you don't even need to set it on a counter top or desk. Because of the fact that the fan tilts either downward or upward, you can literally have the fan on the floor and have it project upward or downward; no stand necessary!!!! The fan can also oscillate in a full 360 degree motion which is a feature I've only seen with Dyson. The unit also has a strict "purify" mode if you only want the unit to purify and not blow any cold air. Setting up the fan with the Dyson Link app was INCREDIBLY easy. Unlike other vendor apps that I've used in the past for appliances, the app on my android device synced to the unit immediately after following the easy steps. Once the app is setup, the purifier/fan will take air quality readings of it's environment. The app will display the air quality outside (depending on the zip code you provide) as well as inside your home. It also records the air quality daily and tells you if the air quality is getting worse or better. You can also set an "auto" feature in which the purifier will "self-adjust" in it's operation mode depending if the air quality is getting worse or better. It also has a night mode which is really nice as it will turn itself off automatically depending on what you set it for. The unit can also be completely operated from the app. The remote for this unit is great! It's simple, feels high quality, and it's also magnetized so you can quickly attach it to the top of the purifier/fan! If you're serious about your health and want the best air quality indoors to potentially improve issues with allergens, pollutants, dust, etc, then this is something you should definitely check out!

It’s so sad because this thing just will not work on my WiFi. Phone support was no help at all. I work in IT and I am perplexed that I cannot get it to work. I must have already spent 2-3 hours on this thing...

Does not perform well. Air reaches if maybe 3 feet. Not worth the price. Get a regular fan and add a WiFi plug adapter. For a stronger air flow fan.

I have owned several different air purifiers over the years and all of them seem to work about the same. So call me skeptical when I was reading of how this Dyson Purifier was a smart enabled product and it would work better than any of the other purifiers I have owned before. Well I am happy to report that I was wrong. We needed a new purifier for my sons room, his room gets the dustiest very quickly so having a purifier in there when he sleeps is a must. I was shocked when we turned on the Dyson for the first time and it told us the air quality was not great in the room, so we turned it on closed the door and came back a couple hours later and I couldn't believe it. The dyson was telling me the air quality was now better and I could immediately tell. the air quality seemed better it was like breathing in fresh air. I was utterly shocked. We have been using the purifier every night in his room and he has been getting better sleep every night since. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a purifier.

Dyson is always a great name, and they certainly prove that with this Air Purifier. It has a hepa and charcoal filter and they come disassembled from the fan base, so it must be put together before use, which is an easy task. It does have remote control, but this fan is designed for network use for your phone or tablet. You download the Dyson app and connect to the fan through your home network. Once setup, your phone/tablet becomes the remote and you can control the fan from anywhere which is nice. The app also includes an active monitor of all the pollutants the fan senses, and daily and weekly reports. The fan itself leaves a bit to be desired. It can occilate and also change fan output direction from straight out to towards the ceiling. The only downside is the fan is not exactly very strong, and it is very loud when turned all the way up. It sounds just like a hair dryer on high. The overall fan output is mild compared to many other fans yet then again it is more designed for the filtration aspect which I understand that. Overall it is a great fan for filtering like it is supposed to.

1st thing I have to say is I was given this fan by a third party for testing and evaluation purposes. There are fans then there is this fan, it’s fantastic it looks great for starters but then there are all the other features, I suffer from hay fever and in this hot weather sleeping with the window open is a must but I would suffer terribly in the night waking up with a stuffy nose and watery eyes, now I sleep with the windows closed and use this fan and its great, cools beautifully and removes pollen and dust from the air all of which leads to a great night’s sleep, the night mode is useful as it cuts the front lights and puts the fan on a low noise setting (that keeps my wife happy as she doesn't like noise in the bed room). I know this unit is not an air conditioner but I tend to put it on setting 10 in the bedroom for an hour before I go to bed with the door closed then I turn it to night mode and even in this recent heat wave I sleep like a log and at times the room even get a little chilly, and I am fine with that. The fan can auto rotate to almost 360 degrees and tilts up and down, the airflow is also programmable so you can direct it virtually anywhere and all the functions can be carried out with the supplied remote control. With this fan having no fast spinning blades I can leave it switched on in the living room when the grand children are visiting without the worry of them sticking a figure of other foreign body into it. the one thing that is a bit awkward is the power supply is built into the plug and it is quite large so if like me you want to stand the fan on a chest of drawers with a socket behind then the drawers won’t push flat against the wall as the plug is so big so you will need a small extension lead (but that's no big deal). I can't get it to work with alexa even after enabling the skill but that might just be down to me. All in all I think if you have hay fever or similar then this fan is a must have and I would have absolutely no hesitation at all in recommending it, my son has even ordered one after seeing ours in action

The Dyson DP04 is really a fantastic fan! Of course Nobody beats a Dyson!! Straight out of the box it was extremely simple to set up. The filter system consists of 4 pieces. -2 Carbon filter elements & 2 Hepa elements. Each set is 2 pieces (1/2 of a full circle) that simply snap together around the base. First the carbon set and then the Hepa's and that is it! There is no wrong way to do this since there is no "this side up" directional assembly. They can be turned either way. A Smart App is available (iOS and Android Platforms) and is quite handy. Not only for controlling all of the functions of the fan (from anywhere) but also to be able to easily view all of the "Monitoring Functions" (Information Menu) which includes: -Indoor Air Quality -Particulate Matter (up to 2.5 microns in size) that include Smoke, Bacteria & Allergens -Particulate Matter (up to 10.5 microns) that include Dust, Mold Spores & Pollen -Nitrogen Dioxide - Such as Burning Gas Fumes, and also Vehicle Emmisions too! -Detects VOC's as well, such as paint & chemical fumes **The filter system cleans and removes all of these Odors, Allergens and Hazards, giving you a much cleaner and safer air quality for your home. The Information Menu also includes: -Ambient Temperature -Indoor Humidity Levels and also displays the current status of your Wi-Fi connection and also the filter use/life. The fan itself also has a small display which will show you all of the details as well but it is small so using your smart phone app will be much easier to view. The fan has an "Auto Mode" that when selected, will automatically adjust the operation of the unit to correspond with the air quality. Such as cutting off when the air quality is good and kicking back on when the quality has "dropped" and needs to be "cleaned". The fan speeds will also adjust according to the need to purify the air again. This is customizable in the App. Pretty Smart if you ask me! This cool fan will also oscillate from zero up to a full 350 degrees. The increments (in degrees of rotation) are zero, 45, 90, 180 and 350 It also will tilt forward or backwards for your desired air flow direction. *You can set up the fan to run "Backwards", by this I mean you can set it to have the airflow to blow out the reverse if you don't want it blowing your direction. In either normal frontal or backwards operation, the fan always will be filtering and purifying the air no matter what. It has a Night Mode as well which runs more quietly and dims the display. Also customizable in the App. Now I've said a heck of a lot of info that puts this awesome machine in the "Limelight" BUT...... I have 1 gripe about it and that is the power cord! The receptacle plug is HUGE! It is about 1 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 4 1/2" so be prepared that it will take up a bit of space at your outlet! ALSO the other end of the power cord plugs into the FRONT of the machine and will stick out over 1 1/2 inches (without kinking the cord) *IMO This is a very poor design and I know for a fact that common sense would say that it should plug in at the back of the machine AND be a 90 degree plug which would eliminate the issue very easily. Maybe on the next model?? It's such a beautiful machine, but by having the plug in the front, it really distracts from the sleek modern beautiful look. At least to me it does. With my "negativity" on the power cord/plug out of the way, I still love the machine and would certainly recommend it to all. ***OH, I forgot to mention that it also comes with a remote (the battery/batteries are already installed so I can't say what type they may be. The remote also stores on top of the machine via an internal magnet for the convenience of not losing or misplacing it.

If you’re familiar with Dyson, you know that they love to create beautifully designed products that move air using some very fascinating technology. The DP04 is Dyson’s latest attempt to create an intelligent air purifier that does keeps your indoor air clean without you having to do any work. Setup was a breeze. I followed the instructions in the manual and was able to get the unit set up in under 5 minutes. I placed the DP04 in an ideal spot for keeping my air clean—the kitchen. Here, I plugged in the unit, downloaded the Dyson Link app, and followed the very simple instructions in the app for connecting to my DP04. After a software update, I was up and running and could configure my DP04 as I pleased. Just for a backstory, my kitchen is an absolute heaven of smells. But I often face the issue of my kitchen not having proper ventilation for my stovetop, which I use quite regularly. Unfortunately, my kitchen is also open, so all these smells go through the living room and climb their way upstairs, downstairs, and so forth. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who’s had a bad experience walking into another room only to realize that all your linens, towels, and other clothing smell like a deliciously seared steak instead of fresh clean laundry. The Dyson DP04 certainly aims to tackle that issue, so how does it fair? Surprisingly good—especially for being so small! I’ve had the opportunity to cook steaks a several different times on my stovetop, and the DP04 is intelligent enough to recognize that there are gases that need to be captured and air that needs to be purified. With some configuration set to “auto”, my DP04 will turn on whenever it detects that the quality of air is substandard. So when I start heating up my cast iron skillet and it starts smoking, the DP04 is on the job without me doing a single thing. My smoke alarm always goes off unless I have a large fan blowing air outside of the house, so I decided to test the DP04 in this regard. I cooked around 3-5 steaks on several different occasions. The DP04 alone, prevented my smoke alarm from going off, which was very impressive. That being said, it didn’t prevent the haze that I usually prevent with a large fan blowing outside, but I could definitely smell the difference between the kitchen area (where steak was still cooking and creating smoke) and the adjacent living room area (where all the purified air was being blown). Mind you, the DP04 is smaller than the TP04, which would likely do a better job. Regardless, I was impressed. Even after I was finished in the kitchen, the DP04 continued working away at ensuring that my kitchen was purified from harmful gases and unwanted pollutants. I was even able to go upstairs and check to see that my clothing, linens, etc. still smelled like fresh clean laundry, rather than steaks. With its Wi-Fi connectivity, I was even able to configure the DP04 from anywhere, set a schedule, as well as view stats and graphs for the quality of air. Personally, I feel like “auto” mode is all I really need most of the time. In the end, the DP04 is a product geared towards Dyson lovers (which I am, admittedly) and someone who wants an air purifier/fan that is intelligent while also having a beautiful design. With price aside, the DP04 is a great product. But if you find yourself not wanting to spend the cash, then there are probably plenty of affordable alternatives, but their execution may not be as elegant and seamless as Dyson’s.

Let's face it, I'm a total geek. Shades are always down and I have never opened any windows. The only air that gets in is when I walk through the door or put on the air conditioner. Needless to say the house is stuffy (not that I ever noticed it but friends did). It's not stuffy anymore!. The Dyson DP04 Pure Cool Air Purifier has made my house smell so much fresher. It has a great futuristic look to it and operates using my iPhone's Dyson app as well as using my Amazon Echo's Dyson skill by just saying "Alexa, ask Dyson to start" or other variations like "Alexa, ask Dyson to set the speed to 10", etc. It's quiet yet really moves a lot of air considering there are no blades. The HEPA filters are removable so they will have to be replaced once a year or so depending on how often I leave the fan on. The fan oscillates using Alexa, the app or the remote control.The remote magnetically sticks to the top of the fan so it doesn't get lost which is a great feature considering how small the remote is. My only complaint is in the app, when I click on the main green house for more information, it tells me that "This feature is temporarily unavailable"and will be inactive until my software installation is complete. It never completed so I called the company a week ago and was told to leave the fan set in automatic mode and the firmware would update in about 72 hours. It never did even though it's been on for a week. I'll have to call them back when I have a chance. Other than that, I love it as this fan breathed new life into my stale house.

I feel Product it’s not working for me send air really light n I need it for kids air

The Dyson Pure Cool Air Purifier is like a fan on steroids. It's not only an amazing fan, but it's also an air purifier with not one, but two filters--HEPA and carbon. According to Dyson it should filter out "99.97% of microscopic allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns". We have a HEPA filter on our air conditioner, but whatever it misses I'm sure the Dyson Pure Cool will get. I'll be interested to see how much stuff gets caught in the filters when it's time to clean them. I feel like Dyson really thought this product through. It's not inexpensive, but the features justify the price. The app is well done and makes it easy to connect the Pure Cool to your network. Once connected, the Pure Cool can be controlled using your phone and the app gives you helpful information such as outside air quality. You also have the option to set a timer if you want to have it shut off by itself. The amount of air this thing pushes out is impressive considering there are no exposed fan blades-also nice if you have small children that like to stick their fingers in things. Dyson advertises the Pure Cool as being quiet. On the lower settings that is definitely true. Cranked up to 10, however, it can get fairly loud. At the same time, other fans pushing out this much air would be much louder. As I mentioned, the Pure Cool is expensive. However, I'm hoping it will pay for itself in the long run as I should be able to turn my thermostat up during the hotter months. Lastly, it has a two-year warranty, which is indicative of the quality of this product.

Cleans the air really well and lets you know the quality of the air. Nice product.

This replaces a TP01 tower version. The TP01 was destroyed by an electrical storm. It performed brilliantly. The household has severe allergies and asthma so good air is essential. So when considering a replacement I researched MANY alternatives that would give more coverage for my dollar. I happily settled on this product. WHY? Here are my purchase reasons: 350 degree rotation; the app is fantastic; the previous model was super reliable; the filter indicator; the “auto” feature which turns on automatically when air gets bad. Did I mention we have four long-hair dogs? This product combined with high quality HVAC filters makes a huge difference in our house.
