With that out of the way, on to the review. So how did I end up getting this Dyson? I was originally in the market for a smart indoor air quality monitor that I can use in our bedroom since my wife have asthma. She kept having attacks and we cannot figure out why.. Do note that we already have an air purifier at home, so at the time, I haven't thought about getting this. Then we bought a high end, top of the line indoor air quality monitor that's almost the price of this Dyson (refurb on their website is even cheaper!). Then it dawned on me, why use that air quality monitor if I can just buy this Dyson. So I returned that air quality monitor for this. Oh boy I don't regret one bit of it. The Dyson measures most information (sans CO2, CO, Ozone, and Air Pressure) and I think that it's ok since considering that this is an air purifier + fan + air quality monitor all in one. As for the performance: 1. I can honestly say that this will not replace a dedicated fan in your house, but the breeze it gives you is decent, but probably not enough during summer time. 2. Common sense tells me that that yeah, this probably doesn't have enough physical/large enough motor to have high CADR rating, BUT the the oscillating fan probably negates that since it is distributing the filtered air more efficiently. Dyson did say it's all about EFFICIENCY (more doesn't mean better). In summary, if you have bad allergies/asthma, and is thinking of getting an all in one device (fan + air purifier + air quality monitor), then yes, I highly recommend this Dyson product.

It isn't as quiet as I thought it would be, but it isn't to the extent where it makes to much noise where you can't concentrate on what you're doing.

With it being a fan, it is designed to cool a person by moving the air over and around them. It is not designed to change the temperature of the room.
Please rest assured the machine is engineered to be quiet, with streamlined air channels for reduced airflow turbulence. It has a high sound quality that produces a comfortable tone of sound for the human ear without a compromise of performance. At minimum setting, the noise is almost inaudible to the human ear.
