My purpose behind buying this was wanting both an air purifier and a fan, so I started with Dyson because I consider it a trusted brand. Through a series of choices I decided on this model. I always thought the blade-less tech was a cool idea, but it makes such a difference when it comes down to how much you notice the fan being there. Other than it being a decent size, the only way I know it’s there is being able to hear it. Because I am shameless I have it pointed directly at my bed, and it makes a noticeable difference in the temperature in my room (in a house that already has A/C). It’s an easy set up, and with the proper placement it’s a perfect product for anyone.

Since buying this fan I do think the air has been more cleaner in my house. I have it set to auto, so sometimes after cooking or if I have burnt a candle the fan will Auto come on. I like the app on my phone to as I can see the different air quality settings

If you have allergy. Stuff nose. Diffulty breathing . This is what you need for a better sleep or anytime of the day. The price is worth your health. I breath a whole lot easier now all day. This dyson has two filters. It's app controlled through phone. Tons of information on screen humidity level, dust, temperature, etc.

Works good in a small apartment! My favorite features are the auto to turn on if any pollutants enter the air. The most notewortht occurrence was July 4 last year. While on a normal day it oscillates at 1, it ramped up to a 5 around 10 when most of the neighbors were shooting in our parking lot. Also, the phone app includes local information on pollen and air quality.

I have absolutely loved this air purifier. My close friend has terrible dog allergies. If I keep this running, it helps her greatly. I started carrying it to the bedroom at night and taking it downstairs during the day. I just ordered a second one to keep one permanently on each level of the house.

I, too, have been watching the evolution of the Dyson bladeless fans, heaters, and air purifiers over the years. I am in Kansas and in the last few years we have had to turn our central air conditioners on by the end of April because of the heat. However, I live in a very small town that thinks they are better at utility delivery vs. leave it to the pros and therefore, the cost of our electricity and water is outrageous. So, I was hoping that this Dyson could be a tool to not use as much A/C this year. I will say this, I originally ordered the tower, but Dyson sent me the desktop model by mistake and that is what I wound up with. Putting the unit together with the filters and other components took no time at all, and I was ready for business right away. First, I really love the design and simple appearance of this fan/air purifier. It has a clean and modern appearance and will be very easy to keep clean, which in my opinion is wonderful. Second, it comes with a fully functioning remote controller that happens to be magnetized and stick to the white circular head, so loss of the remote should never be an issue. Third, there is an operating manual, but there is also a also a short video on the Dyson website in the area where we are supposed to register our unit for the 2 year warranty. By the way, the serial number for the unit is on the bottom side of the base and there is a place to record that in the operating manual on page 5. While I was looking for the serial number, I noticed that there were pads affixed to the base to protect the surface it is placed on and also make the unit non-skid. This is a very smart machine. Until I watched the short video on Dyson's website, I did not realize that the metal base can be tilted in several ways so that the airflow is better aimed. Also, you can either direct the airflow to come out the front for more direct cooling or it can be directed to come out the rear so that the room cools without it being directed directly on the individuals. The air purifier monitors pollutants that could be in the air and if it picks up a pollutant then the symbol for that pollutant will display on the screen. Like I said before, this is a smart device that is Wi Fi enabled and can be controlled from a mobile app on your phone. This model's MSRP is $450, costly in anyone's terms, but it has all kinds of bells and whistles, and if it runs for years to come it will decrease my use of very expensive electricity on air conditioning and will start to pay for itself over time

I’m definitely broken up about this. I bought this unit last year in August. I had severe morning sickness and this allowed cooking to go on in my house without me puking my guts out. It really did get rid of every odor. I’ve used it normally, changed the filter etc. But now no matter what I do or where I put it, it’s gone off saying I have severe air quality. I’ve tried everything, plugged it in my neighbors house, every different room. This is the same house that had perfectly clean air the day before. Nothing traumatic happened to the unit, it just one day lost it. And of course I’m out of warranty (barely) so now I’m stuck with an overpriced device that gave me just a little over a year of function. It’s actually super sad because I really loved the thing but for that price i expected it to last at least 3-4 years.

Hello Tess, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review. We're so glad to hear that in your use, you have found that the DP04 Pure Cool air purifier has done such a great job at removing odors from your home. Dyson Pure Cool air purifiers will feature two airflow modes, a fan mode and a backward airflow mode for cooling and purifying both in winter and summer. These two modes, along with the airflow setting ranging from 1 - 10, and an adjustable oscillation angle from 45 degrees to 350 degrees, helps project purified air around the whole room.

We're sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your DP04 showing poor air quality readings. This is certainly not what we would expect to hear, nor the experience we would ever want or expect for any of our valued owners. We would value the opportunity to learn more about your experience to provide you with support and have this looked into further. Please consider emailing us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are look forward to hearing from you.

      Best wishes,

I’ve always wanted one of a Dyson bladeless fan because there’s a level of style that comes with them. However, I would find an excuse as to why I didn’t need one or just simply procrastinate. I finally got the Cool Air Purifier (DP04) and I don’t regret it. This fan is really smart about its surrounding air. I have a cat that SHEDS fur no matter how often I brush her. This creates an almost constant issue of fur and dander in the front living room. I placed the DP04 in hope of at the very least, creating an air cycle that would more or less create a lackadaisical counter. The DP04 IMMENSELY reduced the dander and dust that I normally encounter in that room and some of the near areas of the living room. It’s not blowing the dust off to different areas, believe me, I’ve used other oscillating fans that did that. The Dyson filters remove the dander that is normally in the room. But let me move beyond simple dust and pet dander; there’s the element of air quality. The Cool Air Purifier actually detects and gauges the quality of air. I’ve noticed a lot fewer allergy symptoms since using this Dyson. The various types of air quality it can detect is brilliant. The readout on the fan/purifier is displayed and will inform you if there is a change in the environment. I’m anxious to see how this purifier will perform during the typical fire season that we face in California where there’s an obnoxious amount of smoke that haunts the inside of the house even with all windows and doors closed. And speaking of smoke, I got to witness the purifier go into action when I accidentally burnt a pancake the other morning. The DP04 is about forty feet away from the kitchen and it auto detected the smoke which caused it to increase the fan speed all while the digital readout was updating me as to why the purifier had increased its efforts. I almost forgot to mention that you can change the direction the fan current with the press of a button. The DP04 comes with a remote that is easy to use but I highly recommend that you download the Dyson Link app which allows you to access more features and will give you alerts to if and when there are dangers in the air quality. The only regret you will have from the Dyson Pure Air Purifier is that you didn’t get it sooner.

I never thought I would get so excited over a fan. From opening the box to cleaner air in less than 3 minuets. Setup was super easy and straightforward. Just install two filters, snap covers on and plug in to the wall. My fiance has allergies and after just one night of using this unit she woke up breathing better. Mind you we have always had an air purifier in our bedroom. Just not one that worked as good as this one. Or looked as good too. The fan it self is very well constructed and feels sturdy, And that carries over to the app. The Dyson app is very user friendly and helpful. Has a nice look and lay out. You can control everything from the app from turning the unit on/off, adjusting the fan speed, make it isolating or not. Maybe it's a cooler day and you don't want a fan on you but still want purified air. No worries you can change the airflow on this unit so you don't have to move it or turn it away from you. The LCD display reports in real time what the unit senses (as dose the app) and gives you an report of air quality. Another just feature is the night time setting, dimming the LCD display and quiet setting.

    Always Wanted a Dyson Fan

I have to say this Dyson is awesome i really do like this fan. It is very quiet and pushes the air out. This Dyson has great sensors on it you can download the app the will let you know the air quality in you house and outside as well for your area. Now that"s cool it will tell you the humidity and air temp in the house. So this is how cool this works i was baking cookies and had the Dyson on Auto so the air quality was good so it was running on low. Now once i opened the oven the smell came out and the fan is across the room turned on high it detected the smell within seconds. Now i did not burn anything you can smell the cookies and they were good. But that is cool so when it detects the air quality has changed from good to bad it will turn on higher or lower. So if you get this just download the app set it to auto and let it do it's job. This will not let you down. The style is nice it's clean and i am happy i have this in my HOME. Now just to let you know i did have another Air Purifier another brand and it was a lot louder and you had to turn the speed of the fan up or down.

This Dyson DP04 is a very nice Hepa purifier, and it is a noticeable upgrade from Dyson’s previous air purifiers, which were also really nice. I will list the ways that this newer Dyson DP04 purifier is improved over older models. The first Dyson tower Hepa purifier had a normal power cable and plug permanently connected, and the power adapter electronics were inside the purifier’s base, this Dyson DP04 has a really nice rectangle shaped power adapter with a thin power cord that plugs into the base of the Dyson, this allows a power setup that can be disconnected from the purifier making it easier to transport. The original Dyson tower purifier did not have WiFi connectivity like this newer model does, and it could only be controlled by the supplied remote, this Dyson DP04 is fairly easy to setup so that it can be connected to a WiFi network and synchronize with a smartphone which has the Dyson Link app installed. This Dyson DP04 has a really nice digital display that has an unexpectedly high pixel count, the display is about the size and quality of a high end smartwatch. The display can be switched to several modes which can display anything from air quality to air temperature and humidity. The one thing that I liked least about the my previous Dyson tower fan, was that the Hepa filter itself was constructed so that the Hepa filter component and the carbon filter component were all in one solid structure and the airflow grill located on the outer side of the filters was permanently attached to the filters, this made it impossible to access the Hepa filter section where the dust collects, to simply vacuum up any trapped dust and in effect making the Hepa filter last longer before needing to be replaced. The Hepa and carbon filters and airflow grill on this newer Dyson DP04 is a substantial improvement over previous models, all 3 components are completely separate, and this makes it possible to access the Hepa filter and simply vacuum clean the outer dust collecting section of the Hepa filter, which will remove most of the built up dust and will make the Hepa filter last longer. This Dyson DP04 even tilts up and downward allowing the airflow to be directed at the most optimal angle. The oscillation mechanism on this newer Dyson DP04 purifier is a drastic improvement over previous models, and the purifier’s display has several settings which allows the purifier to oscillate in various patterns, this allows the airflow to be directed in the areas that it is most needed at. The oscillation mechanism on this Dyson DP04 is quite impressive. Even the instruction manual for this Dyson purifier is really nice, it is worded really well and has many diagrams explaining the overall functionality of the appliance. This new Dyson DP04 is improved in several ways that I was not expecting, making it a better overall Hepa purifier than I was expecting it to be, and I would suggest this product to anyone needing a fan to help keep cool in the summer, or just to anyone who wants to be able to breathe healthier purified air. I am giving this Dyson DP04 Hepa purifier a 5 star rating.

I love my dyson ! A bit pricey , but worth it ! The breeze can be felt across the room! Way better than my cheap box fan !!! You get what you pay for lol . When it rotates to give better air flow , you can’t even hear the movement . The device comes with 2 years warranty . The dyson app was very useful in figuring out what the numbers meant on the digital screen. I recommend downloading that to help you set it up and to keep an eye on the air quality in your house . This comment isn’t meant to be educational , it’s just to share my excitement on my new product !

So far I had this product for a few months now. At first I was skeptical on whether it actually cleans the air. But now I am very happy I got this appliance. It turns on automatically when it detects the air quality is bad. It is very easy to use and the app is extremely easy to use and informative. It is definitely not cheap but worth it for houses that have carpeting or people with allergies. So far this fall I have not had a problem with my sinus so think it is helping. I also like the fact that it can spread the air during the hot months from the air conditioner. The only con to me is the price and again the price of when the filters need to be replaced. But for health wise and air quality I think this is a great product.

I am so happy with this purchase. It works amazing if you have allergies. Since I bought this air purifier I didn’t need to take any allergy pill (it’s been a month! Usually the max I can go without taking anything is 2 days!!!). I love the app on the phone. So easy to set up and use. It tells you exactly what’s in the air. The auto mode is fantastic. It is a bit bigger/heavier than expected but it’s so powerful that I don’t mind. Highly recommended!

It's only been 3 months since I purchased this but otherwise I have it programmed to turn on every night for 5 hours when I go to bed. You can turn on manually, if you prefer. The oscillation can be controlled up to 360 degrees. I currently use it at 180 degree angle. It has a night move, air can blow in front or back, your choice and at different speeds. I have this in my bedroom and using as a fan and air cleaner. It comes with remote but I am using the iPhone app instead. The app tracks the daily air quality, temps, humidity, filter usage, etc. My bedroom is about 600 sq ft, including the master bath and 16 ft high ceiling. It feels like it can cool my room when I have the door closed at night. My air quality seems to be always in the GREEN and my room have NO SMELL! I feel good when i wake up in the morning, no stuffy feeling. Supposedly, the filter will have to be changed about every 6 months or depending on usage. When that time comes, I probably would not be happy. I can just imagine that the filters will not be cheap.

I put it together very easily but the instructions are not that great. If you are a logician, you will figure it out pretty quickly. As an air purifier, I think it works very well. I am very sensitive to odors and wanted something that would "clean" the air when I cook. So far, this has been really great. It gets 4 stars because it really doesn't do that great a job as a cooling fan. I have this in my bedroom, average size master bedroom, and even on 10 and oscillating, it doesn't help to cool down the room. I use the Dyson app to determine room temperature. It is VERY quiet on setting 1 but very loud on setting 10. If you like white noise, then setting 4 would probably be good for you. I don't like noise so I set it for 1 and it really doesn't cool all that well at night. I start to feel a difference at 4 but it's a trade-off between noise and temperature, so I use my ceiling fan for cooling at night. I do like that I can put it on NIGHT, but the app doesn't always want to connect to my phone. The remote attaches magenetically to the top of the fan but it's a very weak attachment. It's just enough to hold it on top of the fan. Love how you can adjust the direction of air flow, adjust the oscillation, and can also move the body upward. In general, LOVE that I can get rid of odors. I'm disappointed that it won't cool down my bedroom. It's an expensive air purifier with minor cooling as a value-add that doesn't add value.
