After doing much research (including all the Dyson vs. Shark talks) I decided to purchase the this vacuum, I've been genuinely impressed with its performance, I guess you can say I'm fully on the Dyson bandwagon for vacuums. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head with its laser is such a fantastic feature that I didn't think I'd need on hard floors, ensuring thorough cleaning. The Digital Motorbar does a much better job deep cleaning carpets than I thought it would. I'm really hoping Dyson makes a submarine attachment for even more uses. Overall, I'm very happy with my Dyson Gen5detect!

Best vacuum ever! Been wanting to purchase a Dyson for over 17 years and final bought one. It is the best investment and cleans so beautifully . Love how you can vacuum the rug and the dusty bunnies under the couch/ furniture.

This Vacuum is wonderful, no cord to drag around and the lite emitting bulb shows all the dirt and dust in front of you as you are Vacuuming, plus the strong powerful motor picks up all the dirt, dust, pollen and hairs, pet included.

Really upgraded great on hard floors with the light wand does what it says. This out runs all models we had from dyson and others. Love it and so does wife really if you can aford it you won't be sorry.

I love my Dyson. Especially the light feature on the hardwood floor. Shows all the husky hair that is being vacuumed up.

I love this vacuum. The only reason i am giving it 4 stars is because it doesn’t lie flat so you can get under stuff. I’d the bottom rotated so you can turn the main canister sideways would be ideal. Also the attachments need a bar not as long as the one to vacuum but maybe 1/4 of the length so you can get those hard to reach places. Then it would be the perfect 5 star vacuum.

I LOVE this vacuum cleaner. I thought I would just use it on my hardwood floors, however it comes with a carpet attachment as well! I decided to do a test and used my corded Dyson thats close to 10 years old and my new cordless one!! To my amazement my cordless picked up ALL the dirt and my corded one picked up like half! This baby really cleans!!

Continues to be the leader in suction power. This vacuum has two new features that I absolutely love. The first is the power button turns on the vacuum. There is not trigger so your fingers don't hurt. Second is the improved design of the shaft which is sturdier and doesn't flex so easily. Amazing! I love it.

Love the vacuum! Does better on carpet than hard wood, but better than other vacuums. A little on the heavy side for long use, which you’ll get with the longer battery time! Green light is amazing!

Amazing vacuum, I have 3 large dogs that shed a TON and this picks up the hair and dirt great. I do have to empty the tank frequently but it’s super easy to use.

It's a great vacuum. We had several models of Dyson vacuums and without a doubt this one has the most power in relation to the size.

I boight this one as a replacement for my V15 which i loved. I was skeptical on tbe price increase for what looked like a small number of features but boy was I wrong. Laser head is bigger, suction is better (boost mode), filter is amazing, power button, and the display is the best part. Now i know when my carpet is actually clean. I could not get the dog smell out of my carpet with the V15. Why? Because i wasnt done! There were still particles that i needed to keep cleaning and the display helped me achieve that by pin pointing the dirty sports and telling me when its clean.

Great Product. Works great for pet hair on wood floors.

Powerful vacuum with very useful equipment, a little bit heavy on hand

Great vacuum! I still think it is overpriced and I don't understand why the Gen5 does not incorporate the mop system (marketing), but we love the features it does have.

This is our second unit and like the first one it is very compact and powerful

Great vacuum. Pricey but functions very well. The green light definitely shows a lot that the naked eye can’t see. The rug attachment leaves my rugs fur free. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats and my house would be a mess if I didn’t have this vacuum. I have 4 other vacuums and none of them get the pet hairs like this one does.

I was hesitant to get a cordless vacuum but wow what a game changer. I did not know how much dust and dirt there was in my home. I love all the attachments.

Love this vacuum after having gone through 4 in six years we’ve had it for about 2 years with no issues! Use it on our hard wood floors and carpet weekly with no issues. We love the green light to be able to see the little things left behind you wouldn’t typically be able to see.
