You can tell the difference between non-genuine and genuine Dyson filters. Non-genuine usually create a whistling sound when the fan is on. Fan works like brand new with a new replacement. Filter usually lasts at least a year depending on your usage.

In being that, I know that it is cleaning the air as designed by Dyson, the whole reason for buying the Dyson in the first place. I do not trust some of the "off-brand" of filters out there, as I do not trust their ability to clean the air, which is very important. Yes, it is pricey but to have the original filter I believe makes all the difference. Glass HEPA filters tend to do a better job than simple paper ones. Hope this helps!

A necessary part of the Quiet Cool Fan

I just wish they were more affordable, why I took off 1 star. It does a good job of filtering air. Very easy to replace.

The replacement is very straight forward, and everything is labeled so I had no issues. The price is a bit high though.
