Outsize - The bigger, badder Dyson

The Dyson Outsize lives up to its name. It is physically the largest Dyson vacuum we’ve ever owned. Both the hand canister unit and cleaner head are noticeably larger than any of our previous Dyson vacuums. I attached photos of the Outsize cleaner head and canister side by side with a normal sized Dyson v11 head and canister. You can easily see the size advantage of the Outsize. Despite the larger size, it remains as easy to use as our previous Dyson vacs and doesn’t feel excessively heavy or bulky. We can still use it with one hand. Suction power is great and suitably effective on both hard floors and carpet. We have hard flooring throughout the lower levels and carpet upstairs. Switching between the two surface types requires no special actions on my part when in auto mode because the vacuum automatically detects the surface and switches to the appropriate speed and suction power. The only surface it doesn’t seem to like are smaller rugs, which is understandable. If a rug or runner is too small or light, the suction is too powerful and grabs hold rather than gliding over like it does other surfaces. The larger head makes cleanups quicker and more efficient with fewer passes required to clean larger areas. The larger canister means fewer canister dumps. The Outsize has three speeds: auto, eco, and boost. Auto adjusts to the floor type automatically and is the mode we always use due to our different floor types. Eco is lower power with longer battery life, and boost is max suction for tougher soil with shorter battery life. The cleaner head also has large rubber hair removal vanes on the roller brush to help trap pet and human hair on vacuumed surfaces. The Outsize also ships with Dyson’s smaller hair screw tool for cleaning stubborn hair from carpet, stairs, and furniture. The hair screw tool is a great accessory for us because we have several household members with long hair, as well as a couple pets, including a large but lovable hairy pooch. I can attach either the hair screw tool or the cleaning head and use the Outsize as a large hand vac not just indoors but also in my vehicle as well. The set ships with the vacuum, XL cleaning head, hair screw tool, crevice tool, combination tool, wall mount, and charger. It’s safe on all our flooring and doesn’t run as loud as traditional vacuums. It can also filter particles as small as 0.3 microns which helps us in maintaining good indoor air quality. Overall, the Outsize is a quick, convenient, and effective cleaner that makes quick work of cleaning different flooring surfaces throughout the entire house. It’s safe on all of our flooring surfaces and doesn’t scuff or damage our wood and laminate floors.

I have a Dyson vacuum that I've owned for a few years now, and I've been very happy with it, but it's a little limited in both runtime and capacity. On maximum suction, it gets maybe 5 minutes of cleaning power, which is generally fine for basic use, but I do find myself sometimes needing more or forgetting to put it back on the charger and finding it drained when I need it, so I was excited to try out the Dyson Outsize. The first thing I noticed on taking it out of the box is how much larger it really is than the smaller models. It has a massive debris chamber and the rolling head is easily 50% larger. It's also significantly heavier, weighing in at almost 8lbs. But man, does this sucker get the job done. The rear of the unit features an LCD display that allows you to see how much power is remaining in each of the cleaning modes, which is a fantastic feature. It can get up to 60 minutes of cleaning in Eco mode and about 15 minutes in Boost mode, which is enough for me to do my whole house (switching between modes where needed). Auto mode seems to adjust the level of suction based on the surface you're cleaning, and I've found it to be the mode I use the most. It's surprisingly nimble for how large the roller head is. Also included are attachments for getting into crevices and a smaller roller head meant specifically for things like pet hair, as well as a smaller multi-surface tool that's meant for cleaning up messes with larger particles. It also comes with a wall mount and hardware. The debris chamber is very easy to empty and clean, just aim it into the can and release. The filter on the back is removable. Dyson says this will filter down to .3 micron particles. I haven't had anything escape from it yet. Also, the battery on this model is removable/swappable if you need more running time, which is a nice feature. I'm very impressed by the Dyson outsize, and I'm looking forward to getting several years of quality use out of it.

The nickel/red version of Dyson - Outsize Cordless Vacuum is one stop vauum for large space with single charge to complete the vacuuming. With 60 minutes lasting battery, and larger battery and cleaning head help to ease the process without having to empty the bin too frequently with more coverage of sweep. Pros: suction is very good. Very easily takes care of dog hairs. Easy to maneuver. Easy disposal. Quieter than other battery operated ones. Cons: 1. it's way WAY too top heavy. 2. The vacuum does NOT stand alone so when you have to move an object to vacuum, you must put it down, move the object, get the vacuum from the floor then start vacuuming. 3. Start trigger. You must have your finger on at all times. You let go, vacuum stops. There's no fx to keep vacuuming without your finger on trigger. 4.Storage. Again, since vacuum does not stand alone, you must install the holder on the wall very close to an outlet to charge and held stand up at the same time. In few words, this vacuum is not blond friendly from use experience perspective, but focusing on calaning does perform well.

Amazing cordless vacuum with tons of power and hug

Dyson Outsize Cordless Vacuum Summary: Amazing cordless vacuum with tons of power and a huge collection bin. Pros: * Accessories are on point for cordless vacuums. The unit comes with four attachments: a wide-width rotary floor attachment, a narrow-width floor attachment, a long and narrow nozzle, and a wide nozzle with a retractable brush sleeve. It also comes with an attractive wall mount that conceals the mounting screws and the cord. Makes charging and storage of the unit a breeze. * Quality construction. The accessories and the body of the unit feel well-made and sturdy, typical of Dyson products (I own a ball vacuum). * Power. Now this is Dyson's technological advantage: the power and suction of this unit are top-notch. You can hear the unit spin up before it starts pulling debris in like a jet engine. I wish I could share a video because you can hear the power (and feel it once it is on it almost latches onto the floor). * The unit looks good and would be at home displayed in a closet or in an open space. * Did I mention the attractive and highly functional wall mount? Cons: * The base is heavy. It works well and when used as an upright vacuum, it isn't as noticeable. But handheld vacuuming stairs, or something, and you're going to notice. That power doesn't come from nothing and so this isn't a problem. * Price point. For Dyson, this is a reasonable price point and you're going to get your money's worth. However, if you need something for lighter jobs - you might want to consider something else. Use: We have an array of vacuums for different uses. We live in Colorado and leave the windows open when we can. We also have two dogs: a miniature schnauzer, and a corgi. The corgi drops a lot of hair. It can be overwhelming even with regular grooming. We have multiple surfaces in the home, too. Carpet, "luxury" vinyl, and tile. We needed a workhorse that can handle anything we throw at it. The Dyson's are a favorite because of their sheer power. In the pictures I have shared, I show two of the collection bin. We run our roombots every day for the two main floors we occupy. One has all vinyl, and the other has carpet, and tile. Every day they run. When the Dyson Outsize arrived, I assembled it, charged it, and gave it a pass on our third floor which has the carpet and tile. The daily vacuuming job had already run for the day and the Dyson still managed to pick up so much, it was as surprising as it was disgusting! LOL. I suppose that is why we got this unit. It is for our weekend cleaning when the humans do the deeper cleans and for that we need a stronger vacuum. It's clear we made the right choice. If you have high-traffic carpeted areas, pets, outdoors, and in need of a primary/exclusive vacuum with power and capacity AND mobility, this is the unit to buy. You won't regret it.

Sold new but definitely used. Opened the box after Dyson took my vacuum & never sent me a replacement. Not sure why I even bothered purchasing another Dyson but I’m closing my house and desperately need to vacuum. As soon as I opened it, you could tell the item was used and the canister dirty inside with the outside you could see was clearly dinged up from going under furniture. Wish I had time to return but I can’t. So disappointed in Dyson and Best Buy for not checking their equipment before selling it to people

I recently moved into a home with two floors and realized there was value to having a second vacuum upstairs to help keep things in better order. In shopping for something new, I already had heard amazing things about Dyson cordless vacs and they were at the top of my list to try out. I have two cats - which means I have two never ending problems: hair, and litter. Short of glitter, cat litter is the most annoying thing to be tracked around a home and it seems never to stop. How surprised was I when I opened the box to the Dyson Outsize Cordless Vacuum and saw the attachments were very pet focused! There are special hair removal vanes in the main attachment that keep hair from jamming up the beater brush, as well as a special anti tangle screw design to the smaller head that is perfect for stairs and corners. One particular feature I like is how intelligent the motor is. It constantly knows if you’re on carpet or hardwood and the dirt level of where you are cleaning. I made a very big mess the first day and without having to change any settings the Dyson spun up and worked flawlessly. Just pull the trigger and off it goes until the job is done! The battery life is more than sufficient for me to get all the way around the loft and my other vac is getting pretty lonely from lack of use now that the Outsize is within reach. The unit is extremely easy to assemble and clean, has a wall mount that holds attachments, and is a breeze to clean. Bottom line - this is easily a must buy for anyone who has to deal with clean up for pets, kids, or themselves!

    A Game-Changer in Cordless Vacuuming

I recently had the pleasure of using the Dyson - Outsize Cordless Vacuum in the striking Nickel/Red color, and I must say it has completely transformed my cleaning routine. Dyson has always been synonymous with cutting-edge technology and innovation, and the Outsize Cordless Vacuum is no exception. From its impressive power to its versatile design, this vacuum is truly a game-changer. Let's start with power—The cleaning performance rivals that of corded vacuums, making it an ideal choice for those seeking the convenience of a cordless model without sacrificing power. I tested it on pet hair, spilled dry food, and dust and it vacuumed everything with ease. What sets the Outsize Cordless Vacuum apart from its competitors is its impressive runtime and large capacity. The vacuum is powered by a rechargeable battery that provides up to 60 minutes of fade-free suction, allowing you to clean an entire home on a single charge. The battery time does drop when vacuuming carpet as opposed to wood and tile, this makes sense as there is more effort needed by the motor on carpet. This is particularly advantageous for larger households or those with multiple floors to clean. Additionally, the dustbin is quite large, minimizing the need for frequent emptying during cleaning sessions. Another standout feature of the Outsize Cordless Vacuum is its versatility. It comes with a range of attachments and accessories that cater to various cleaning needs. The Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head effortlessly glides across different floor types, adjusting the suction power to optimize cleaning performance. The Hair Screw tool sucks up long hair and pet hair fast without tangling so its great to clean up dog beds. One of the most impressive features of the Outsize Cordless Vacuum is its advanced filtration system. The fully sealed filtration captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, ensuring cleaner air and reducing allergens in your home. This is particularly beneficial for those with allergies or asthma, as it helps create a healthier living environment. A feature that some people might not like is the Power trigger. This has to be squeezed to be in the on position for the vacuum cleaner to work. Some may like this as it allows precision control of the on/off and can save battery life by only being on when in actual use. However, I found this tiresome and just wished there was a simple on/off switch that kept the vacuum always running when in the on position. In conclusion, the Dyson - Outsize Cordless Vacuum is a remarkable cleaning companion that effortlessly combines power, versatility, and convenience. Its exceptional cleaning performance, long battery life, large capacity, and innovative features make it a top contender in the cordless vacuum market.

I have never owned a Dyson before. I bought a Bissell that i really, really liked but ran over the cord and need to get it repaired. I know Dyson's are the near top of the line but wasn't sure i could justify spending $300-$400 on a vacuum. I purchased the protection plan at the advice of the associate, but Dyson does have a limited warranty on their vacuums and from what I have read from other reviewers, they do offer great customer service, something I can't say for other vacuums. I chose this slim style due to the larger cannister and the fact I could roll it under my child's bunk bed (that is very hard to move). I debated about some of the ones with the more high tech features or the traditioanl animal ball, but this one seemed to fit my needs the best. Plus since I have stairs in my house, I needed a light weight vacuum to get up and down the stairs. I think the vacuum does a great job of sucking up hair (I have 2 dogs this comes in handy), is super easy to maneuver, is light weight, and the battery holds a charge for a reasonable amount of time. You can also convert it to a handheld vacuum, which makes cleaning your car a breeze. The attachments are also easy to use. My only complaints are the cannister, the suction on plusher carpet, and the battery charging unit. The cannister takes a while to get used to emptying, so I would practice it before you vacuum a large area to get the hang of it or else all the dust you have vacuumed up will fly everywhere. My child's room has a plusher carpet, even changing the setting on the roller, I feel it is super hard to maneuver on the carpet, where my Bissell didn't seem to have that issue. My other complaint is the battery unit. You can use the battery on it's own which is fine. But if you don't want to leave it leaning against a couch or wall and risk it falling over and getting damaged, you have to drill into a wall to secure the upright charging unit. If you are someone who isn't handy or someone that doesn't have a ton of storage space, this could be a problem, especially if you would have to drill it into a heavy traffic location in your home, your dyson would be on full display. The last caveat is the battery lasts about 2 hours. If you are doing an all day cleaning marathon, you will have to stop to charge the vacuum more than likely. So be strategic, if there is mopping involved, charge it between mopping is all. I feel like my battery lasts longer than 2 hours but i also do a lot of stopping and starting with cleaning so maybe that is why. The gripes though don't negate from the vacuum and how happy I am with the purchase. I do think there are cheaper vacuums that will get the job done almost equally, but if you are spending $100-$300 every 1 or 3 years to replace a vacuum, when with the best buy warranty you could have the dyson repaired up to 7 years, you are spending the same amount of money and getting a better quality vacuum and spending less time researching, ordering, shopping, etc.. I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone that has considered a Dyson but hasn't taken the plunge. It is a reasonable vacuum and if you catch it on sale, you will be happy with your purchase.

I purchased the the Dyson Outsize Cordless Vacuum over a year ago and it has completely exceeded my expectations! This vacuum is a game-changer in both power and convenience. First, the suction power is incredible. It picks up everything from fine dust to large debris with ease, even on carpets and hard floors. The larger bin capacity is a huge plus—no more stopping to empty it after every room. I can clean larger areas without constantly needing to empty the bin, which makes cleaning faster and more efficient. The battery life is impressive too, especially considering the power it delivers. It runs long enough to clean my entire house (even with the high-powered suction settings) before needing a recharge. The LCD screen is a nice touch, providing real-time updates on battery life and performance, so I always know how much power I have left. What I love most about the Dyson Outsize is how lightweight and easy it is to maneuver. The swivel steering allows me to easily navigate around furniture, and the extra-wide cleaning head means I cover more ground with each pass. It’s perfect for quick clean-ups as well as deep cleaning. The whole design feels premium, and the quality of the materials is top-notch. It’s built to last, and the various attachments—like the soft roller cleaner head and crevice tool—make it incredibly versatile for all kinds of surfaces and tight spaces. Overall, the Dyson Outsize Cordless Vacuum is worth every penny. It’s powerful, efficient, and user-friendly, making home cleaning easier and more effective than ever. If you’re looking for a high-performance cordless vacuum, this one is a total game-changer!

The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread (No, Seriously)

The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread (No, Seriously) In the grand pantheon of household appliances, there are vacuum cleaners, and then there’s the Dyson Outsize Cordless Vacuum with 6 accessories in a sleek Nickel/Red finish. I mean, this vacuum isn’t just a cleaning device; it’s a lifestyle upgrade, a conversation starter, and quite possibly the eighth wonder of the modern world. Here’s why we’re absolutely smitten with it: 1. Outsize Everything: This vacuum is the SUV of cleaning appliances. It’s big, it’s bold, and it makes no apologies for taking up space. You’ll feel like a domestic superhero wielding this mighty cleaning machine. It’s so outsize that we’ve started referring to our standard vacuums as “fun-sized.” 2. Cordless Freedom: Gone are the days of being tethered to an outlet like a medieval serf. With the Dyson Outsize, you can roam your kingdom freely, vacuuming as you please. We’ve vacuumed the living room and the dining room and even took it for a spin around the backyard just to see if we could. (Spoiler alert: we could, and it was glorious.) 3. Nickel/Red Finish: Who knew a vacuum could be a fashion statement? This Nickel/Red beauty is more than just functional; it’s a centerpiece. We’ve had guests mistake it for a modern art piece. One visitor even asked if it was an avant-garde sculpture. Naturally, we played along. 4. Six Accessories of Awesomeness: Forget a Swiss Army knife; the Dyson Outsize comes with six accessories that make cleaning feel like an epic adventure. There’s an attachment for every conceivable situation. Dust on the ceiling fan? Handled. Crumbs on the couch? Gone. Pet hair on the cat? Well, we haven’t tried that yet, but we’re tempted. 5. Unparalleled Suction: The suction power of this vacuum is so intense that it’s like it has a personal vendetta against dirt. We’ve found items we didn’t even know we’d lost. Last week, it uncovered a missing sock from 2008 and a family heirloom we’d given up on. It’s practically a treasure hunt every time we clean. 6. Battery Life for Days: Okay, maybe not days, but it sure feels like it. The battery life on this thing is incredible. We vacuumed the whole house twice, took a break to admire its design, and still had juice left over. We’re half convinced it’s powered by some sort of alien technology. 7. Joy of Vacuuming: Before the Dyson Outsize, vacuuming was a chore we dreaded. Now, it’s the highlight of our week. We’ve started scheduling vacuum parties and inviting friends over just to show off. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching this beast devour dust bunnies and pet hair with ruthless efficiency.
