It does not have a compressor and is not an air conditioner. Deceptive advertising got me to buy this item and since it is not what they claim, I returned it without using it. Salesman was friendly and efficient but did not tell me it was not a real air conditioner.

I am sorry to hear that you were less than satisfied with the purifier. Air conditioning units and the Dyson Air Multiplier™ fans/purifiers are two very different products that work in very different ways. An air conditioner refrigerates the air it supplies, allowing the air in the room to be made cooler than the ambient temperature outside. The Dyson Pure Cool Link purifier fan cools a person by moving clean air over and around them.
