FANtastic Fan from a FAN addict FANatic
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fan is essential. I need it in my life - I would be an uncomfortable sweaty mess without it! I had a cheaper model when purchasing the two previous Dyson fans (they are on practically 24-7 so I go through them) but I am so glad I got this upgrade. This TP7A model cleans the air, something the TP-01 or 02 doesn’t do, beyond just having a basic filter for inflow. I can tell it is working when something is cooking on the stovetop, it shows the air is not free from particles. The air smells fresh. When I first bought it, my husband asked me if I had “done something to the air” because it smelled cleaner in our small apartment. The fresh smell hasn’t remained, even with the replacement of filters - I wonder if it is something like the “new car smell” or the “Honeymoon period” where the goodness fades? I’m sure it still works because we have a Corgi who sheds like crazy, and the upstairs doesn’t get the benefit from this fan/air purifier and I can tell. I have a nose like a bloodhound. The cooling is fantastic, also an improvement over their basic fan model. It is much quieter, the fan has decent air movement power. I usually keep it maxed out, but sometimes I wake up freezing, and the remote gets a LOT of usage. I can’t have a fan without a remote. Remote management hack - Before the remote was getting lost in my millions of blankets and pillows, but then I remember that it has a magnet meant to attach to the top of the fan (not sure why anyone would need to do that unless transporting it for a move and still I’d be worried about it getting lost, I digress) so I ordered a pack of smaller round magnets and mounted one on my side table, and it goes back on the magnet whenever I am done using the remote - so I (almost) always can find it. I also mounted a couple other magnets to hold my other two remotes so they didn’t get lost! Another fantastic feature where it helps to have the remote is the ability to rotate the fan position. It practically moves 380 degrees! I think it is like 370 degrees but you can also choose 180 degrees if you don’t want to wait five minutes for the fan flow to return if you don’t get the positioning correctly the first attempt. I think there also may be a shorter rotation like 75 degrees. If I need air flow but I am too cool with direct airflow, I just hit the rotate button and wait for it to move facing enough away and click to stop rotation, problem easily solved. The sound is really pretty quiet, especially compared to the previous basic models. I do like a little background noise when I sleep, and it is just a tad bit too quiet for my preferences for that need, but we have a leak in our dishwasher/sink so a cheap fan is always aimed and running to dry any leaks 24-7 so that gives off enough background noise. When we move, hopefully soon, I may get a noise machine. But I doubt there are many who actually want a fan that is noisy, so the quiet running noise (or lack thereof) is a plus for most people. The price was definitely right when I purchased the fan on Black Friday. Every three years or so I get an amazing deal. I paid the cost of the basic level for what I consider to be an unbelievable upgrade! The filters are expensive. That is the only drawback that I see. But the work it does on air purification makes it worth it to me. Because I run mine so often, I have to replace them more often at $70, probably about every 3 months or less. The manual says it should last 6 months with less rigorous use at lower speeds for fewer hours during the day. I get the filters straight from Dyson and I get free shipping and fewer problems with it being out of stock. I did buy a separate air purifier to try to cut back and re-distribute the stress of purification to try to save on filter costs. I haven’t had to change the filter since I bought the new purifier on Black Friday, but I know the time is coming soon, so I think splitting the duties has helped! Also, my “bed” is a LoveSac on top of my LoveSac couch, so it is pretty high. To give the fan some height and to make it easier to swivel if I am sitting on the other side of the couch, I bought what is supposed to be a plant stand with wheels. It fits perfectly, just do a measurement of the base and check to make sure you have the correct stand that will fit. It adds a little more than 3” to the height and I was surprised how often I do use the shells to swivel or get better aim and positioning without having to wait for the rotation button on the remote. Overall, this is a “FANtastic” Product. I couldn’t go back to the basic model and I could go without this fan one day. Just for a little more background, I was disabled by a car crash over 16 years ago and my pain keeps me basically couchbound. I’m on so many different medications and they all make me run really hot and I get migraines if I overheat and have no air flow, so I have become a FANatic. This meets my high standards. You won’t be disappointed!

Clean air with cool breeze
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had recently did a crawlspace encapsulation. It was a 2 weekend process and the 1st night after removing the little vapor barrier that we had originally the whole house smelled horrible. We went to best buy grabbed this air purifier and within 24 hours the smell was gone! Now we move it from room to room to provide a cool breeze. Even my 13 year old wants 1 just for his room!

Dyson Purifier + Fan
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with this purchase, we decided to buy it to keep the air quality good during the summer whilst keeping us cool at night. It works very well, and my favorite part is the auto-off function so I set it at night before bed. The filter also is holding up well without a need for replacement after 5 months of constant use. I just wish it was slightly cheaper as the material used is plastic which feels cheap but its good for cleaning/wiping the dust.

Brilliant. Beautiful. Bold.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Of all of the things I have had the opportunity to review with this program, TV's, of course cool. Computers, cool. Laptops, cool. High end sound bars, cool... But a fan? Yes, very (literally and figuratively) COOL. First thoughts, the packaging was premium. The fan was well protected and easy to unbox. Inside, pretty straight-forward: The fan, the filter, the remote and the manual and warranty information. Set up was quick and simple. Install the filters, replace the filter cover and your off and running. The airflow from this fan is like no other fan I have ever used. It offers a powerful yet gentle flow where you know you are receiving movement of cool air but it is in no way overwhelming. It's an amazingly smooth flow. You can have it set in a static position or have it rotate incrementally using the remote. One of the things my wife and daughter love about this is how quiet it is. In our house, I am always hot and wife and daughter are always cold. The simplest solution? I have a fan pointed towards. While I previously had another higher-end fan in the living room, it was a little louder than this one and could be heard while watching TV. This one is so quiet (even at higher speeds) that we barely know it's running. Another cool feature is the LCD display on the front. It senses air quality and displays if there are pollutants, what type and level of pollutant it is sensing. End of the day, this is a beautiful, functional and brilliant appliance. I would whole-heartedly recommend it to a friend. I rarely give 5-star reviews but in this case, I can't find ANY reason to give it less than 5.

350° oscillation fan + air filter = awesome
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, it's absolutely awesome that this thing can turn 350 degrees as I've never had a fan that can do a near complete turn. Ok as for the rest of the review, you have to admire how svelte this system is versus most my filtration units. Short of a little tabletop fan the bladeless system allows for a stream-lined package that can easily fit in the corner of my bedroom. Most of my air filters around the house don't fit in the space so I end up setting them against the wall but then they don't double very well as a fan (and nor are they meant to). So from that perspective it's definitely well appreciated that this system can pull double duty. Initial setup was fairly easy and the box just includes a quick guide. Take off the plastic, open up the two 180 degree snap on cases on the bottom and insert the 180 filter on one side and then repeat on the other side. The system started on auto-mode for me and was quick to show my AQ (air quality) score. Auto mode appears to detect the level of contaminants and changes the fan speed to compensate. In terms of fan speed, 1 and 2 are barely detectable, 3 and 4 are comfortable and I can easily go to sleep with them on. 6 really starts ramping it up, 8 moves a lot of air and 10 is straight up a baby turbine but a soft one. I'd imagine if someone in the family likes white noise they wouldn't mind 10, but I settled on about 3-4 if I was using it as a fan but normally left it in auto mode. The remote's pretty cool because it magnetically attaches to the top of the fan and just looks like a decorative piece when not in use. The remote allows you to change fan speeds, switch to auto mode, change oscillation, and the info button lets you cycle through all the info screens. It'll show you a historical AQ graph, different particle size detections that it's seeing, and then also shows the temperature and humidity (which matched well with my own humidity sensor so accuracy seems to be good.)

More than just a fan...of this fan
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been quite intrigued with Dyson products. While they tend to be on the pricey side of things, I do like how innovative their products are. This fan is a perfect example of this. They take a common, ordinary household item and make it much more than what it really is. I have the usual tower fans like most people do in their household. They're great for those hot summer days as well as circulating air in the room(s). problem with these, especially at my place, is that they also move around a lot of dust. There have been times where I wake up and my mouth feels like I've been inhaling chalk dust all night. Usually I try and fix this by pointing the fan away from me and out the door or something. But, when I do this, I don't get the nice cooling breeze. This fan addresses a lot of my issues with typical fans. First off, the fan ln this is bladeless so no moving parts to get tangled up in or break. I use mine of level 7 and seems to work well in terms of keeping me cool at night as well as powerful enough to help get the air moving around as well. On the bottom of this fan is a filter. This helps sucks up and trap all those pollutants and dust and any other airborne particle. I like that the filter is on the bottom as, well, that's where the motor is but, more importantly, once all the dust settles on the ground, the constant air circulation helps move it along towards the filter thus aiding in trapping more dust particles. Lastly, I can't sleep if it's completely silent. Fans were a great way to add some white noise while I sleep. This Dyson fan takes it a bit further in that it's far more quieter than my older fan. You can hear the noise from the fan however, it's not your typical loud, whirring noise you'd expect from a fan. This produces a more subtle, consistent noise which I find quite pleasant. I'm not sure if this was intended however it's a nice little bonus for me. While helping clear my bedroom air of dust particles, this also helps me fall asleep faster. Downsides? It's a Dyson so it's significantly more expensive than your normal box/tower fan. This certainly isn't for everyone but, I'm really glad I have one now. There is a filter you need to replace on this fan. It's recommended you replace every year and they go for $100 so that, also, is not cheap. And from previous experience with Dyson replacements, this may be a bit pricey to get serviced once you're out of warranty. Overall though, if you can get one, I'd highly recommend this to anyone. Really a great product from Dyson and quite beneficial as well

Wonderful
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is amazing! It’s not too noisy at all and I noticed a very big difference in the air quality within the first day of use. It looks great and is easy to use. The replacement filters are kinda pricey but you can’t really put a price on quality of life improvements.

Sleek, clean, quite, & simple to use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was hesitant at first though went for it when it was on sale for a good price, under $400 from the original $600+. At the end of the day it is a good fan and sir filtration unit, not necessarily great at rither, though at the sale price the value from the sleek design, quite operation, overall clean look, and simple yet elegant operation is worth it and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an option thst offers an all in one solution without the otherwise tupicsl bulkinness and overly complex design that dome units can have.

No WiFi controls
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dyson makes an amazing machines, highly sophisticated and smart. This air purifier is a part of family of purifiers (Dyson has several models), however it does feel like unloved child a little bit due to the lack of WiFi and app control. Don't get me wrong - it's a great purifier, it's safe for kids and pets (no blades so no little hands sticking pencils to see what happens), it has a very sensitive air quality monitor that "senses" that I'm frying onions in the kitchen and ramps the fan speed up. But lack of remote control is a killer for me. No way to schedule the machine operation (can't use smart plug either as this fan will stay off if power has been interrupted), no way to check on your home air quality when you are away, no way to tell Alexa to slow down the fan (it does get quite loud on speeds above 5 (out of 10)). Overall - it's a great remote controlled fan/purifier, it moves a ton of air (that said - it does not clean all air it moves, due to it's construction it would only clean air it expels from the air multiplier loop), it's normally quiet in Auto mode but would immediately ramp it up when contaminants are detected, but in this day - I'm so used to Internet of things. My recommendation - don't get this model, get the one with WiFi!
