I have used a Solano professional dryer for the last 25 years and when the motor died I didn’t have a back-up dryer handy I had to scramble. It takes Solano repairs about 10 days to repair & return dryers when you send them to their repair facility and I had to get something locally. I had read the Dyson reviews when it first came out and they were inconsistent - many people were “reviewing” the retail price vs the performance but when they only offered the fuschia color I wasn’t particularly interested in it. When I started researching I saw that Dyson has a colorway that was primarily white I decided to try it and I planned on exchanging it if I wasn’t thrilled with the results. $400 is a lot for a hair dryer but saving 5-7 minutes a day in drying time is worth that to me. I have straight fine hair that is very thick and with the Solano it took ~ 15 minutes to get my hair 85% dry. I can get my hair 90% dry in ~ 8 minutes with the Dyson. That works out to ~ 36 hours a year if I use it 6x week. That is so worth it to me. My hair doesn’t look much different but because I’m shaving 5-7 minutes of my drying time I am much less rushed in the morning which makes for a great start to the day. If you don’t mind spending time drying your hair then it may seem frivolous to spend $400 on a hair dryer and I don’t think this is a good value for you but I really love it and I was skeptical.

I bought this because with the cold months approaching I can’t be wearing my hair out the house wet. I have been using my tool science and chi hair dryers but they take at least 1 hour to defuse my hair dry. But they still leave my hair frizzy and unevenly dry. So I decided to take the plunge and pay the hefty price tag for the dyson. Let me start off with saying I L O V E I T!! The copper finish is beautiful! The travel bag is a soft velvet material that fits the hair dryer and attachments nicely. Now, I’ve only used it to defuse my hair so i can’t comment on its other attachments. For reference, I have fine but thick curly hair. Which basically means I have very fine hair but A LOT OF IT. I’m not sure if that makes sense but if theres water in the air or I slight spray my hair... BOOM FRIZZY MESS! It takes forever for my hair to dry especially if it has styling products in it. I styled it as usual and I dried it as usual and it only took me about 35-40 minutes!! That’s about 20 mins off!! And I took my sweet time too. I used every combination of settings to see what I liked best. It’s definitely quieter than other hair dryers even on its loudest setting. It still is a hair dryer so don’t expect it to be silent. It’s light weight and easy to handle. It’s definitely worth the price and met my expectations! The only reason I’m taking a star off is because I wish it would’ve came in a presentation case. The hard case is much better and practical for keeping it safe from water damage or dropping it. The hard case would also be begged for storage for when it’s not on use. The travel case is great from traveling but I would’ve preferred to have the hard presentation case to store it securely.

The blower dries faster than the others and the way is made it doesn’t damage hair because the air comes out in a way that doesn’t burn hair. I hope it last me years

It's a very nice product. It's quiet and I like that it comes with accessories. The handle is a little slippery, and I end up holding it over the filter a lot. The magnet is not too strong, so I knocked off the attachment several times by now. I do find the price point probably double of what it's worth but I missed the return window...

My husband purchased this for me for our anniversary and I thought it was a little crazy to spend so much money on a blow dryer but after using this after using a Conair blow dryer for decades, I will never go back! My hair is no longer frizzy, I now just blow dry my hair and can go about my day without needing to straighten my entire head! I used to hate blow drying my hair because I would be sweating like crazy after blow drying it, but that's NOT the case with this blow dryer, I'm a little warm afterward but I am not sweating like crazy! Dyson's quality is always amazing so I know that this will be an investment that will last me years! Again, it's so worth it! I can't stress it enough!

I have very thick, wavy hair. This blow dryer works great for my hair! It dries much faster and my hair doesn’t get frizzy like with other blow dryers. My hair also still feels very healthy and not lifeless. Definitely worth splurging on!

Superior to any other hand held blow dryer. Fast and quiet. Expensive for a hair dryer. Wish it was priced lower.

This dryer dries you hair so quickly, it is extremely powerful! I wish it came with some more attachments like the other ones do but I got it on a good price so I guess you get what you pay for!

The Dyson hair dryer is truly a game-changer—if you know how to use it. Let me start by saying this is one smooth hair dryer. It is quiet and very powerful. The heat/cool air settings are very simple to select. Lastly this one very well built unit.

Quiet and fast drying without destroying your hair. Much easier on your hair than a traditional dryer and cuts the drying time in half. Definitely worth it besides the price tag.

If you have the finances to spend on it, definitely worth it. Dries hair very well and fast, and leaves my hair looking nice and no frizz.

Defiantly worth the money! The Dyson-Supersonic Hair Dryer is the best at drying my thick hair. It takes me less time to get ready now! I love all the attachments that come with it.
