Dried my hair out BADLY, BEWARE!

I was very disappointed, however, with the results. It dried out my long, curly hair horrendously; my hair was like a haystack after use! I only completed one section of hair and decided to stop and use my trusty Babybliss to finish the job, which always makes my hair silky and smooth. I was expecting the same or better results from the Dyson Supersonic. I packed up dryer and returned to store same day. For the price point of this unit, I was shocked. I love Dyson's household appliances (vacuum, fan, ie) but their hairdryer is NOT GOOD. The dryer is awesome looking, lightweight and impressive to see. I really wanted to love it!

Thank you for your review. This is Miella from Dyson. We're sorry to hear of your experience with your Dyson Supersonic hairdryer. We designed the Dyson Supersonic with the Air Multiplier technology to provide faster drying but with an intelligent heat control to lessen heat damage and provide smooth hair with minimal product.
The use of product may cause a straw-like texture because of this, so if this is the experience you're getting we always using minimal to no product to change the result. With conventional hair dryers, product may be needed to avoid heat damage but the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer eliminates this need.

However, I saw no difference compared to my babyliss blow dryer. Overall it’s still a great blow dryer but definitely not worth it when I saw no difference compared to my $80 blow dryer.

I would have kept it...but the attachments magnetically stick to the dryer and this design didn't work for me the way I use a diffuser. It's a heavy dryer but with the way it's designed, you don't feel it once you're using it.

I have naturally curly, frizzy hair and I do not see a difference in using this hairdryer compared to the $20 hairdryer at the drugstore... except the price tag. I would not spend the money on this hair dryer

Mixed emotions

I hear a lot of good reviews but I also hear that they just shut off on people after a year. I want to purchase this item in the future but only if they upgrade the technology and make it actually worth $400
