It does blow dry the hair and has good blowing power but it’s known to shut off if it senses too much heat. So if you have thick hair it can shut itself off if it feels the heat has been used too much. Honestly a cheap Con-air dryer would do the same job and not shut off at least. I do not recommend this. I’ve had to get it replaced twice because they are so fragile and break so easily.

Didn't live up to expectations

Reinvents the hair dryer for good
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this blow dryer, it's by far the best I've ever used. There are few draw backs but they are far outweighed by the pros. It's really ergonomic, the balance and grip are both really comfortable. It feels lighter than other hair dryers, but not drastically - the fact that all the weight is in the handle instead of behind your arm makes as much of a difference as advertised. Due to the lack of coils it doesn't get clogged with hair no matter how close to your scalp you get. The temperature regulation is really good, I never feel like I need to adjust settings while in use unlike with other blow dryers where I need to turn them up and down as I work my hair. The air intake and filter are at the base of the handle, this could be a little problematic for some as you may cover it up with your hand during use, but the handle is long enough that it would be a uncommon problem. The micro mesh metal filter with lint trap is much easier to clean then other models. The magnetic attachments are super nice and stay attached well during use. The cord is kinda bulky and heavy, probably because it's thick and well insulated to make it durable. It doesn't wrap well like traditional models. I would've like trigger buttons on the front of the handle instead thumb buttons on the back. If there were ridges and other tactile indicators on the buttons so you can install by feel which button your pressing that would also be nice. The final thing to talk about is price, it's cost 4 times more than traditional models. It's hard to really say at this point that it's durable enough and that my hair is improved enough to really be worth it. With the vacuums (which I own a cinetic ball and v6) you can tell the first time you run them across the floor that they're superior and worth the money.

Not as great as I had hoped

It has a very high pitched noise when on the lowest fan setting that is very irritating not just to me but to my pets as well. The force of the air (which is great to a point) ties my baby fine long hair into knots. Drying time is not that much shorter than my older hair dryer. For the price I don't see the draw.

I appreciated the design and the speed/heat fine control. But it kept shutting off. I spent time troubleshooting; I tried different outlets in my house; I made sure I was never holding the dryer too close to my hair; nothing kept it running for more than 2 minutes at a time. I'd unplug, re-set, re-plug and test. It would go on again ... for 2 more minutes.
