Customers recognize the V11 Outsize Cordless Vacuum's extended battery life, powerful cleaning capabilities, cordless convenience, and user-friendly design. They appreciate the inclusion of two batteries and useful attachments. On the downside, some find it to be on the heavy side and expensive.

Excellent Vacuum, with great suction power.
Very easy to use. Does a great job cleaning.
Don't like that I have to hold down the button.
EZ fix, I ordered from Amazon a gizmo that takes
care of this and give me a locking mode to give
the hand a break from holding down the button.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is the golden nugget right here y’all!!!! I purchased this after wasting my money on the bissell crosswave cordless max (that machine was a total bust) and after borrowing a friends cordless shark and YES the dyson is totally worth the money!! I have epoxy covered concrete floors and lvp flooring upstairs, 2 large dogs (choc lab and black Great Dane) and the dyson v11 outsize has picked up all the dirt and dog hair my guys can trek in. I also use it on some throw rugs that get washed regularly and WOW I had no idea they were still so full of yuck until I ran my dyson over them. My home is 300sq ft and I’ve never had to use the backup battery. It comes with great attachments that are super easy to change out! My favorite feature is the suction power and second favorite feature is the dust bin size/ease of emptying. The dust bin is quite large and doesn’t fit into some tight spots but hey I got it because I wanted the bigger size. The only downfall I see is having to keep the “throttle” button pushed while vacuuming and I do think future versions should have a locking feature but don’t let that hold you back!! This machine is AWESOME!

The Dyson 11 Outsize improves over the other V11 models in having a larger bin and it now has removable batteries.
While previous models required a screwdriver to swap batteries, this model finally comes with swappable batteries (Like a power drill). It comes with two identical batteries and two identical power chargers. The battery can be charged in or out of the vacuum, and with the two chargers, both batteries can be charged at the same time.
The larger dustbin, while doesn't require emptying the vacuum as often, also makes an already large and heavy vacuum even more so.
Performance:
The vacuum engine is really amazing and very powerful. So much so that the vacuum has three speeds, and most times one would use it in either Eco or Med/Auto modes, or about half power or so. The Boost mode runs the battery fairly quickly, it's much louder and I found it mostly unnecessary, while making the vacuum heavier. In Boost mode this vacuum should exceed the suction power of most wired household vacuums.
The Med mode changes to 'Auto' mode when attaching the cleaner head, which senses the type of floor in use, and adapts its speed and the vacuum speed accordingly. If found this to work fairly well when going from hardwood to an area rug or floormats.
Battery:
Comes with two swappable batteries, 7-cell each. In Med/Auto mode, each battery provides from 30 min to 45 min runtime and 1 hour or mode in Eco. The runtime in Boost mode would be around 10 minutes. On a couple occasions, after continuous use, the battery went into protection mode and shut down for a few seconds. If this happens, wait 5 to 10 seconds and everything goes back to normal.
The battery can be charged in or outside the vacuum and has a charging indicator LED, in addition to the screen of the vacuum. It comes with two identical chargers which do no have any lights on them.
Cleaning:
- Hardwood: This is where this vacuum shines. It has plenty of power and about 2 hours of use (2 batteries - In Eco mode) is more than enough runtime. The 'High Torque' cleaning head works well: It has two sets of bristles. The softer is slightly longer and is used on hardwood. The firmer set of bristles are shorted and get in contact with rugs.
- Floor mats (or thick, shallow rugs): Using the 'High Torque' head works very well, and the Auto sense feature adjusts suction speed very well.
- Rugs: Using the 'High Torque' cleaning head works fine on thin or worn rugs, but fails to work at all on slightly thicker area rugs: While the vacuum has plenty of suction, the roller is driven by an independent motor housed inside the roller. It either doesn't have enough power to push the larger roller or it falsely senses that it's stuck and stops rotating. This works a bit better when setting the feet of the roller in less suction mode, and at the same time, setting the vacuum in eco mode. What it does is to let more air in, so it doesn't create too much suction. It's slightly better but it still gets stuck, and unlike other vacuums, I cannot recommend this for cleaning thicker rugs.
- Upholstery: This model comes with a smaller roll, that's also independently powered, and it's great to clean upholstery or car seats.
- Accessories: Plenty of other accessories including a soft brush, a hard brush, a crevices head and a standard head with a retractable brush. This last one would be the go to for almost any cleaning that doesn't include the powered brushes. All of it can be used with or without the aluminum extension rod.
Dock:
- It comes with a wall-mount dock that requires two screws into the wall, and once mounted, a clip in the dock hides the screws. Unfortunately, this design makes it very hard to try unmounting the dock without breaking it, which can be done with something like a long flat screwdriver and lots of patience. I don't know why they think this is a good design. If you like me don't want to make holes into the wall, there is an optional pedestal that like other Dyson products is priced accordingly and costs more than other vacuums.
Emptying and maintenance:
- Really easy by removing the accessories and lifting a lever. Note that unlike previous designs, the barrel can break if one forgets to detach the accessories. This was not a problem on previous designs. This is because the dust comes from the from of the vacuum, where the accessories go. On previous models, it had a separate latch to open the dust bin.
- The rollers have only two sets of bristles to make is harder to catch hair, and the roller can be removed from its enclosure making it easy to clean.
- Most of the vacuum can be taken apart. The dustbin assembly can come off with a series of latches and is very easy to maintain.
- It has a washable cloth filter and a HEPA filter. The HEPA filter is the last in a series of filters and should last from 6 months to a year.
Overall:
- Great suction, swappable batteries would make it an excellent choice. Very long runtime and extra battery. Great assortment of accessories included within. It's great if you don’t mind the larger size and extra weight. Excellent for hardwood, cleaning cars, upholstery and anything that does not include a thicker rug.

---- Review ----
Design:
The Dyson V11 Outsize is a hybrid between a full-size corded and a compact cord-free vacuum. Compared to the Dyson V11 Torque Drive cord-free vacuum, this model has a 150% bigger bin capacity and a 25% bigger cleaner head for increased floor coverage and debris collection. When I compared the bin and cleaner head size to my current full-size corded vacuum, the difference was almost unnoticeable. With the V11 Outsize, you get the coverage and capacity of a full-size vacuum but with cord-free convenience. It is also very light and easier to maneuver compared to a full-size vacuum. The top of the vacuum has an LCD display that I have found to be very useful, as it shows the current power mode and a precise countdown to the end of the battery life. It also has filter maintenance reminders and video tutorials that show how to care for the vacuum. Operating this vacuum is simple, thanks to the click-in and go battery and tools, as well as the power trigger. Each tool has its own benefits, so a variety of messes, surfaces, and crevices can be cleaned. I am especially fond of the mini motorized tool that has worked great on my couch and stairs. The whole-machine filtration captures 99.99% of particles, and the point and shoot bin emptying design makes it easy and hygienic to empty. As long as the contents are dry, everything comes out with ease, and there is no need to touch it. Also included in the box is a wall-mounted docking station for easy storage and retrieval. One of the two included chargers can be hooked up to the wall dock so that the battery gets charged after each use. The V11 Outsize is a masterfully designed cord-free vacuum.
Features:
A standout feature to me is the Dyson Dynamic Load Sensor, which automatically adjusts the power based on floor type. This means that power consumption is reduced on hard floors for longer run times and increased on carpet for a deeper clean. No need for a different cleaner head or manual adjustments. I tried going back and forth across different floor types and was surprised by how quickly it adapts when transitioning from one floor type to another. This automatic power adjustment occurs when the vacuum is set on auto mode, but another nice feature is that you can switch to eco mode for maximum run time or boost mode for intensive cleaning. Eco mode is useful for dusting or lighter messes, and boost mode is useful for occasional larger messes. Up to 120 minutes of run time can be achieved when using both batteries, depending on power mode, floor type and attachments used. With some hard floor and some carpet vacuuming, I averaged about 40 minutes per battery, so a total of 80 minutes. The features of this vacuum make for a great experience.
Performance:
The main question I had about the performance of the V11 Outsize was how does it compare to full-size corded vacuums? Well, it certainly delivers an impressive amount of suction, and I have noticed that it picks up just as much, if not more than the full-size corded vacuum I own. I think I could swap the V11 Outsize with my corded vacuum with confidence that I would not be sacrificing performance. The V11 Outsize delivers the most efficient and convenient vacuuming experience I have ever had. Shed hair and food left behind by my cat is no match for this vacuum. Neither is dirt or dust, even when they are embedded deep in the carpet. With this being a pricey Dyson, my expectations were high, but I am happy to report that those expectations were not only met but exceeded.
Verdict:
I do not think a cleaning tool has ever brought me excitement, but the Dyson V11 Outsize does just that. The price is steep, in my opinion. However, I think that the performance, efficiency, convenience and longevity compensate for that. If you are looking for a cord-free vacuum that can compete with a full-size corded one, look no further.

Dyson V11 Outsize
Let’s start out by saying it is a Dyson, so it has great power and cleans great.
You can clean with 3 different power settings: Auto, Eco and Boost. The LED display will tell you the remaining battery life based on your selection.
I use auto mode as the vac will adjust the power based on the type of floor.
Again, the power is great.
The V11 Outsize does pick up dirt and pet hair better than any other vacuum I have used.
We have ¾ carpet to ¼ hard floor.
Pushing on carpet is not real easy. It does help to hold it lower when pushing.
I think if you have mostly hard floors, you will find it easier to push.
I found myself looking for a handle for my second hand when doing carpet.
It was also too powerful to clean the bathroom throw rugs.
You also must hold the trigger down the whole time you are vacuuming. Even though the trigger is easy to depress, my wife and I found it annoying and a little cumbersome having to hold it in.
I have used other vacuums that give you a choice, i.e. when you double press the button the unit stays on. I recommend Dyson do the same.
I really wish these style units had a way to stand on their own. You will have to set it on the floor or a piece of furniture when not in use.
Attachments –
Love all the attachments. You have a tool for every need.
The power head is great for stairs, furniture etc. You also have on-board storage for 2 tools.
Th V11 comes with 2 batteries which is great, you won’t run out of power no matter the size of your home.
Cleaning –
The roller is easy to remove. Simply pull up on the red tab, grab the roll and slide it out to clean.
Another nice feature is the process of emptying the canister. Simply remove the cleaning wand, hold the canister over a trash can and push down on the red handle. The bottom door will open and the dirt falls out. No need to touch the dirt.
Pro’s
Cordless – Yeah, no cords!
Powerful –more power than many corded uprights
60 minute run time per battery
Large canister
Nice accessory tools for those hard to reach places
On board washable filter
Converts to handheld version quickly
Picks up pet hair great with the powerful dual action head (it has a row of standard bristles and a row of carbon fiber bristles that break the static bond)
Digital display
Full size wide cleaning head
On Board tool storage
Con’s
Heavy
Hard to push on carpet
Have to hold trigger to keep power on
Overall, I will say this is the best cleaning vacuum I have used but is a bit heavy. My wife wont use this as it is too hard on her arm. So now I get to do the house ..Yeah me.

So much power can be in the palm of my hand and that happens every time I’m using the Dyson V11 outsize. With the new Dyson V11 outsize you get extra suction power and the dust bin hold much more. You can see the picture that I included to show what it picked up from my carpet the first time I used it. I like that the V11 outsize is that more powerful and don’t limit your cleaning because of a cord. As I’m spending more time using the V11 outsize I do notice it’s learning capabilities.
My favorite feature besides leaving my floors clean is the LCD screen. I now know exactly how much time I have left before it needs a recharge and if it goes dead I have a backup battery to finish my vacuum cleaning.
Performance:
I decided to clean my carpet using the boost mode and within minutes the bin was filled. That shows me the suction power the V11 outsize have. That mode gave me about 30 minutes of vacuuming so if you need more time with the boost mode have the other battery charge so you can switch. There are also 2 other modes; auto and eco that will give much more time if the extra power is not really needed. I was able to easily change the attachment to the intelligent piece to do my floors conveniently. The bin is easy to empty like all of the other Dysons.
Quality:
The V11 outsize is made very well but the shiny coating may get scratched if you are not extra careful. The first day I used it I had paint marks from the wall. Small issue but I want to take care of this investment for years to come.
Storage:
I followed instructions and mounted the V11 outsize on the wall but I’m hoping the anchors that they provided are strong enough for the weight. I noticed it doesn’t have room to store the extra battery and bigger intelligent attachment. I would of love to have everything stored together for more convenience.
Conclusion:
Dyson is known for great technology especially in vacuums and I now have there newest technology with features that makes my cleaning easier to live a healthier life. I know I will get a lot of use with the V11 outsize. Everyone may have a different reason but the one thing we all want is cleaning power and with this Dyson you get it and more.

Full disclosure: I used the Dyson V11 cordless vacuum after my Roomba had already run daily throughout my house. I was completely shocked and embarrassed by the amount of dirt and dog hair the Dyson picked up. I literally thought the Roomba was keeping my house "clean" ...NOPE! OMG! I feel like I found out I've been living in filth people.
Let me tell you what I liked from the beginning. This was very easy to put together. The battery comes charged 20% - so you can try it out right away - but it recommends giving it a full charge before using it. It is easy to charge with an adapter that plugs into the unit - there is no battery that you take out and sit on another charging unit. This is a big plus to me compared to other cordless vacuums. The LCD face of the unit always tells you how much battery is left depending on which power mode is being used.
This vacuum is cordless and has the best maneuverability of anything I have ever used. It can go into any room and into any corner or crevice with ease. It automatically adjusts the power level when you go from tile to carpet to throw rug.
The bin that collects the dirt and hair is large and very easy to empty. I don't make a huge mess when I empty it.
It comes with several attachments that are easy to put on which make it easy to get into small spaces, use in cars, on furniture, stairs, etc.
If I had to say one negative comment about the Dyson V11 - it would be that I wish you did not have to hold the button down the whole time to make the vacuum run. When you are cleaning a large area - it gets to be tiresome holding the button for that long.
This is definitely my favorite vacuum that I have ever owned - replacing my Roomba as my favorite. They were similar in price - but I feel the Dyson V11 does a better job cleaning the dirt and hair even if I do have to push it around.

Dyson is getting closer. I own the V6 and the V10. The V11 Oversized is getting closer to ideal for me. The wider brush bar makes it better for larger areas of cleaning. The increased bin size is only natural given the wider brush bar gives you more debris to suck up in one swoop. They’ve even made the battery replaceable. All awesome. I enjoy this vacuum. All our uprights have been retired and we now run strictly cordless stick vacs. Given we have mostly hard floors (tile & wood), this is great for us. The run time has been fantastic so far and the extra battery helps nudge that along if you’re planning to cover a lot of ground. The smart sensing also helps to ensure you’re using power efficiently.
The second battery is included, with a charge cable. Both scores. My gripe though is that it would be next level if they could have somehow integrated charging of the second battery into the wall cradle. As is, you have to leave a battery kind of just sloppily around and hooked up to the cord. Think laptop or smart phone like. Not what I’d expect for how Dyson tends to execute things.
The brush bar still has trouble dealing with larger debris. The suction control ports are too narrow. If they’re going to stick with this design, some arrows or bars in decals to indicate their location would be helpful. I’ll probably just have to make some on my own with our craft machine.
The power level seems to go wonky on me at times. When I go to vacuum an area rug, it kicks into high suction and then the display shows like the battery is running dead. The vacuum will still operate though and if you put it on the charge it shows the battery level is not depleted. See photos.
Overall, I’m very happy and can’t wait to see what the V12 or V13 might do.

Love it. Some pros and cons to consider:
Pros: very very powerful, long lasting batteries (2), great attachments, easy to use, easy to empty, easy to clean, super easy to set up, extra large bin, auto mode which determines optimal motor setting based on floor type, display indicating remaining battery time etc is great
Cons: very very very very heavy - I used it twice In 24 hours and my arm really hurts a little (I need to work out so this does not continue!), for the extremely super high price, should also include a head light and floor stand. Should also include a separate hardwood floor motorized tool (I do know the motorized tool that comes with it is for both carpet and hard woods). Also - took me quite a while to find And then buy this, they have been out of stock at BB and even on the Dyson website.
In addition, should have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi so u can check operational and Charging states with your phone.
Overall, I really like it.
This is my 5th Dyson stick, I also have a new LG cordzero (much much lighter, but not quite as powerful, and much more quiet). LG cordzero also has Wi-Fi and phone app for remotely checking charging status, etc.
The Dyson outsize seems almost as strong as my corded Miele full size vacuum!! I like my new Dyson v11 outsize and hope Dyson includes some of the above mention features in future model designs.

Where do I begin!? Let's first say this machine is AMAZING!
My family was in need of a new vacuum, because we noticed our previous one would spew out dust and make us sneeze non stop while vacuuming. With one large dog (Doberman) and a new baby on the way, investing in a good quality machine was in the works for us. The thing was - cost. We were ready to dish out some money for a vacuum, but the thought of spending $700+ on a vacuum to me was pretty crazy. After tons of research and many hours online reviewing Youtube videos, reading reviews, asking friends we decided to go with the Dyson and boy are we glad we did.
This vacuum is such a pretty looking machine. The color is vibrant, and modern, which is up to par with the cost invested. You don't want to spend so much money on an eyesore. Let's be honest. Second, it has an digital screen which gives you real time battery life in minutes remaining, battery percentage, clogging/blockage issues, language selections, and filter information. My husband was so excited with that feature. The dust bin is huge, and super easy to clean. We can clean the entire house and empty it once at the end. The battery is removable with a click, and since this particular Outsize (red) comes with two batteries, if you decide to use it in the boost setting, which is the most battery consuming mode, you still have another fully charged battery to swap into, and finish your task effortlessly. I love the fact that I can finish my floors with one battery, and use the second charged one to do the upholstered furniture, and even our cars with. The vacuum comes with several attachments for corner use, soft dusting brushes, a mini motorized head to use on stairs and smaller hand held uses... awesome!
I was afraid that with the size and weight of this machine, after reading many reviews of people mentioning a wrist soreness, I'd feel the same. Not at all. I will admit it is a bit heavy, but nothing you can't handle. The constant push down button isn't annoying at all because you barely realize you're holding it. The first few times we vacuumed our carpets with this, we were honestly disgusted over the amount of dust, dirt, and hair/fur it removed.
We couldn't believe how much it suctioned. It really made us realize that our previous machine wasn't really doing anything at all. The air in the house seems cleaner, and lighter once we began using this vacuum. The HEPA filter does a great job at filtering the air it blows out, no more sniffles and sneezes!
Over all this machine is top notch, it looks and feels high quality, it's incredibly easy to use and go from carpet to hard floors with no effort whatsoever. I'm really happy with our purchase, and gladly will say I'm a Dyson customer for life.

I looked at cordless vacuums for over a year before purchasing the Dyson v11 outsize. We have two large German shepherds with a doggy door who generate a lot of dirt and fur and, although we’ve replaced most of our carpets with laminate flooring, we still have two carpeted rooms. It was the larger canister and the exchangeable batteries that finally intrigued me enough to check out the outsize. I spent some time in the store trying both the v11 and the v11 outsize because of reviews that said the outsize was heavy. I was concerned that we would avoid using it if it was too unwieldy and we already have a corded vacuum we don’t vacuum enough with because it is a pain to use. The outsize is definitely heavier but I found that it is really maneuverable so I don't mind. The larger head covers more ground faster and I definitely appreciate the larger canister. I have to confess we filled the canister 8 times the first night and used almost a full battery because I had been procrastinating vacuuming. It was super satisfying to watch the canister fill up and we cheered each time we emptied it because we knew there was that much less dust and fur in our house. Since that first night though, we have yet to use a whole battery even though we have a 2400 sq ft house. As the vacuum uses more power on carpets, I imagine someone with more carpeted rooms could use a full charge. It does come with an extra battery and charger though, so you can just pop one out and the other one in and keep going. Vacuuming is so much faster and easier now and I also appreciate that it switches power levels automatically when going from carpet to hard floors. As we have multiple throw rugs scattered about, it is just one more thing that speeds the process. Since purchasing this a month ago, we have not had to use the corded vacuum at all and our house is actually cleaner because I’m not avoiding vacuuming. This vacuum is super quiet compared to our corded one and I love being able to grab the vacuum and run it around quickly without fighting cords. I can now make it through my whole house and only fill the canister once so I’m finally getting ahead of the dirt. Yay! I will probably eventually order the extendable hose as the weight of the machine makes it a bit unwieldy to vacuum anything above waist level with the straight attachments. I’m hoping the extension hose will help extend this vacuum’s usability for dusting and such. Vacuuming still isn’t my favorite chore but I now think nothing of just grabbing the vacuum and running it through a few rooms just for the satisfaction of watching the canister fill. I gave it four stars on ease of use just because it is a bit heavy but overall I’m really glad we spent the extra money. It really has replaced our corded vacuum and our house is much cleaner because of it.

I'm a 35 year old man who has 0 interest in vacuuming. I find excuses not to and leave it for my wife. Not anymore.
Now, I feel like I have been sent from the future to eliminate dust and dirt. This is what would happen is Apple created a vacuum.
Everything that I used to hate about vacuuming has been fixed with this amazing piece of machinery:
-"That pesky cord"
See ya!
-"Emptying is such a hassle"
Couldn't be easier!
-"I hate carrying around the vacuum and attachments all over the house"
Not a problem anymore!
Also, all of my concerns about a cordless vacuum were quickly dispelled.
-"No way a battery powered vacuum could be as strong as my corded upright"
Wanna bet!
-"No way I could vacuum my whole house on a single charge"
Well you can now!
-"The price is WAAAAAYYY too high for a VACUUM"
I thought that too.... before I used it.
Gentleman, if you're on the fence know this, when I got home with this piece of art and surprised my wife by actually vacuuming, she gave me a look as if I just rescued a litter of kittens from a burning house.
Ladies, if you are on the fence know this, if you are like my wife and married to a man who is allergic to vacuuming, trust that this is the remedy.
P.S. - It makes a really satisfying sound when you release the trigger.

I had been wanting a stick dyson for some time but wasn't able to make myself get one because of their small size. I have a decent size home with a husky and long hair cat. Once the outsize came out, I knew it was what I was hoping for in a vaccume. Big canister, big power, and the best part is it comes with 2 batteries! Its so much more quiet than my upright. The weight is something to get used to though, but I don't spend a long time cleaning now anyways. The quality is with the price you pay. I'm not rich enough to buy garbage year after year.

The Dyson V11 outsize is a beast. Unboxing the outsize I was surprised by the size of this monster compared to my trusty V10 animal. Though I don’t have a Dyson V11 to compare, the 150% larger bin makes this vacuum physically larger than a V10. I immediately noticed the weight of the vacuum without any attachments. Without weighing it I would estimate it to be 2 pounds heavier than a Dyson V10, which is considerable when most of the weight of Dyson cordless vacuums are near the handle compared to traditional uprights that keep the weight lower to the ground. Fortunately, when using the vacuum I never found it to be unwieldy and it transfers most of that to the cleaner head. The outsize also includes a new High Torque XL cleaner head that is over 2.5” wider, creating a larger cleaning path but also managing to squeeze in between my dinning room chairs and any other tight spots I could think of. The High Torque XL includes a Dyson DLS (Dynamic Load Sensor) which provides instant feedback on load allowing the V11 to adjust to changing floor types automatically. The interactive display even shows you the current cleaning mode (Eco, Auto/Med, Boost) and expected run time in real-time. It even adapts the battery icons to estimate charge level and informs you if Auto mode is available when a torque head is connected. I found the Auto mode to perform flawlessly, automatically transitioning between floor types. I was able to get 40 minutes out of a single battery, cleaning a 1700 sqft home consisting of tile, hardwood, rugs, and 3 carpeted bedrooms. The amount of dirt and hair it pulled was comparable to a full size corded upright! If that weren’t enough cleaning, the outsize features click-in interchangeable batteries doubling the run time. For me, this is by far the best feature of the vacuum. Dyson even provides a second charger to allow simultaneous charging of both included batteries. One nitpick is the chargers do seem dated and less refined relative to the overall product design (having to plug in the battery over having it integrated into the provided dock or wireless charging or even a magnetic cable). Owning a cat that comes inside periodically, I am glad to have a larger vacuum that can handle the cat hair that always seems to fill my V10 bin. The bin is physically longer and wider, which can make it awkward getting it into tight spaces when using the crevice tool. For me personally, I wish there was a model in between the V11 and V11 outsize but I imagine that would be a small market. Regardless, the V11 outsize is a beast but that isn’t bad because it can replace you upright and your cordless with a single device.
