I have used it several times and the suction is still great. Very easy to empty the tank into the waste basket. Sometimes dust and hair get stuck in the tank, but it's super easy to clean out. Very easy to maneuver around corners and under tables, etc... definitely makes me want to vacuum more often since it's so easy to grab this stick vac and go. I can't believe the amount of dust, etc.. this vac finds! When reading the reviews prior to deciding to purchase this vac, I was a little concerned about the 20 minute run time and 3.5 hour charge time, but honestly, 20 minutes has turned out to be plenty of time for me to cover a lot of ground. And the 3.5 hour charge time is really not 3.5 hours. Mine fully charges in a couple of hours tops. I just go do other things when it needs to charge and the time goes by fast. I have all hardwood floors in my house with the exception of my carpeted stairs and this vac does a great job on both! I highly recommend this product.... it's so easy to use/maneuver, much easier than lugging out the big heavy vacuum, and really has enabled me to keep up with my constantly shedding pup with ease : )

Battery has died three times in two years

Performs well when it’s working but every six months the battery dies. Clearly a known issue as they quickly sent us a new battery the first time and a whole new unit the second. This time they are trying to claim the 2 ye warranty is up even though our receipt shows 4 more weeks to run. Even if it were up you would think Dyson would be embarrassed about multiple failures but they don’t seem to be. They did offer bizarrely to replace the motor for more than we paid for the whole unit! Shame on you Dyson! Stay away from this product and company. They look and operate really great but vacuum repair shops are full of them!

Posted .Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered a short run time with your Dyson V6 Animal. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. The total run time will be up to 20 minutes.
In Max power run time will be up to 6 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 16-20 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using.
