It was so not worth the cost. I much prefer the Oreck that I was replacing and will now be going back to that brand.

FULLY-CHARGED BATTERY ONLY LASTS 15 MINUTES

I can’t vacuum my small NYC-sized apartment with it, even! The battery only lasts about 15 minutes and then dies every time! I’m very unhappy with it and it was a waste of money, I have to get a new different vacuum now and this one is almost brand new.

Limited Warranty is EXTREMELY Limited

Over $300 and they don't even warranty their product for a year. Most parts of this thing fall under the "normal wear and tear" clause within the limited warranty. They are not covered for any length of time and they obviously don't last. I thought Dyson was a reputable company that made quality products. I was wrong. Overpriced piece of junk.

Really disappointed!

Hoping to buy one that would work really well and last a long time. We were so excited to get home to try it. We have three cats. At first it worked really well on my laminate floors AND carpet. It picked up tracked kitty litter and did an amazing job on carpet. Slowly it has seemed to lose power and/or suction. It doesn't pick up all the litter and sometimes dust and litter fall out of the floor unit. I love the fact that there is no cord, the charging station where you hang it is awesome. I am just so bummed it stopped working well. Really wishing I had stayed with Shark.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. You are right to note that Dyson V6 cordless is a great machine for quick pickups. That is because V6 has a run time enhancing trigger – meaning that you are only using energy when you really want to be cleaning, rather than leaving it running when you’re moving furniture or moving from one room to the next.
In developing the V6, Dyson engineers researched how long people like to clean, and found that the vast majority of people clean for less than 20 minutes in one session. Many people, for example those living in apartments in metropolitan areas, find 20 minutes proves to be long enough. Although if you live in a much bigger home, we would recommend that the machine be used for in-between cleans, rather than deep whole home cleans.
Further, using a lithium ion battery pack, the V6 releases its charge evenly so there is no drop in performance. Other cordless machines may claim longer run times, but thanks to fading batteries, clogging bags and filters, they can quickly lose up to half their suction power in use.

Dyson did replace the battery as a one time courtesy but said the battery is NOT included in the warranty. That's ridiculous for this expensive of a vacuum. It did work pretty well until the battery died, hopefully the replacement battery lasts longer.

Getting a replacement battery from Dyson takes 3 weeks. For a product of this price, I'm truly disappointed. My sister has had the same thing happen with her V6 machine as well. Oh well, at least it comes with a 2 year warranty, just be prepared to wait 3 weeks for the replacement battery to arrive.

Avoid at all costs - Battery life horrendous

I get less than 30 seconds out of it. They are trying to get me to buy another new $400 machine, instead of simply sending a battery pack. They used to sell the battery pack on their website but its not available anymore. Customer service is pretty bad. I would avoid at all costs. I was warned before I bought mine, but decided to be my own judge. Learned my lesson. Stick with another brand, these are powerful but don't last. For the amount of money they cost you want more than 2 years, and you want a company that will honor warranty with a little grace period of a couple days. Thats what good customer service is

Initially not happy with product

It took a week to arrive and when it did the battery would not hold a charge. I called Dyson. They told me they believe the battery is dead and will send me a new battery. Another 10 days. If that does not work I will need to work with Best Buy and return it. So it could be a month before I actually get a vacuum that works. I am glad I went through Best Buy and not Kohls who actually has them in Stock. NOT!!!!!!!! I am extremely frustrated. For the price of a V6 Animal the quality checks should be TOP Notch. You should never receive a dead battery. It is key to a customer satisfaction. Even if after 3 weeks the product works excellently.

At first I thought it was the angle I was holding but that's not it. So I would stop and then start again and it would spin and I have to stop and start constantly.

You have to have a chopstick to get the stuff out of the canister. It's constantly clogged. Would have expected more for such a pricy item.

The canister does feature a MAX line. It is recommended to empty the canister before debris goes over. However, in the event that debris does go over, the canister can be separated from the cyclone for easier cleaning.
