I have mixed feelings about this one, here is why

I received this as a present. And I was excited to get such a great gift! Normally I would not buy expensive stuff like this for myself, but cleaning the house needs to get done. I thought at first, after seeing the reviews, that the negatives of battery time and small dust cup maybe were just having expectations that were too high. But after using it for a short while, I find those two things to be really frustrating. Why? I have a modest townhouse, with tile/wood floors downstairs. This area needs to be vacuumed each day, and we have a dog with long fur, which makes it even more necessary. My battery vac, which I've bought two of in two years had just broken down again, a motor problem, just out of warranty. And I would use that each night, and I'd fill the dust cup, empty it, and do it again the next day. But with the Dyson, I have to empty the cup 3x for the same cleaning area and conditions. And I find myself draining the battery by the time I'm done - the other battery vac I had, didn't have either issue. Now, I think I'm getting more dirt up, and certainly more dust, it is evident by the amount of stuff filling up the cup. But, while getting the dust up is great, it is hard to get the unit clean. I can remove the dust cup, I can remove the cylindrical filter, but I cannot really clean the mesh/screen by removing and washing it. This makes no sense at all. And I've noticed an accumulation of dust inside of the tube, which is a bit concerning thinking about this long term. Most amazing to me, was when I turned it on, I smelled that dog smell thing. I have hepa filters around the house, and have always had hepa vacs that don't emit that smell, well for the last 10 years anyway. For a pet vac, I found out it doesn't have a hepa filter; come on, really? A pet vac without a hepa filter, and for $300 on a black friday special? The dust builds up on the inside rubber seal, which is also not easy to clean as it stays attached to the area you cannot remove and wash. Then without a hepa filter, and a dirty seal you cannot easily clean, it is making for a long term frustration trying to keep it clean. So, now I'm thinking about the minimalist battery issue, the small dust cup issue, and the lack of a hepa filter, and I'm wondering if it is really worth the money. The problem is that battery vacs are mostly not good. I have had several and they were not powerful - the Dyson is really powerful, while it lasts. It is balanced and not heavy, and even has a way to stand it against the wall so it doesn't fall. All of this is really good, no doubt. But do the negatives outweigh the positives? Normally I use the heavy duty plug in vac a couple of times a week, and use a battery vac each night in between, and for quick pickups. The plug in vac, which you've seen on infomercials, is amazing. But it is big, heavy, and a pain to unravel the cord, plug in, fight with the cord while vacuuming, then wrap it all up - it just adds time to an already short day. The real answer is what Dyson has come out with, a longer lasting battery vac, with a hepa filter. But that is hundreds more. Is it worth it? Is it worth keeping something that on a great sale costs $300? Will this last? I know the suction goes down with the dust in the area that is hard to clean (they say to run the dust brush over it to get the dust out of there, but that doesn't work so well). Good thing Best Buy has a good return policy and I'll give it awhile to see if in fact it is worth keeping. Maybe the other units will come down in price once these are sold out. Dyson has amazing products, no doubt. And this is better than any other battery vac on the market today, because it does really outshine the performance of other battery vacs. But, in the back of my mind is how much this cost and I expected those concerns I've had (and others have had) were not really big deals - but they are a concern. Time will tell, but I thought I should mention these things so you see if you really want to invest the money for something that is already expensive, and if you are, maybe spending a bit more would be the better way to go. I'm not cleaning nut or anything, just so you know. But it seems I've added to my chore list now, cleaning the vac every couple of nights, because of the dust build up and the lack of being able to easily clean it out.

Hi Stevefromtheburbs. Thank you for providing your review on the V6 Animal. We are pleased to hear that your are satisfied with the machines performance. As for cleaning the machine, we do recommend that it is cleaned occasionally to keep the machine working as intended. We do recommend using a can of compressed air to blow out any debris that may build up in the shroud area of the cyclone as we do not recommend getting the cyclone wet.

We would value the opportunity to learn more about your experience, please contact us at askdysonUS@dyson.com and we will be happy to help.

I had always declined to buy a Dyson vacuum -- first of all, because they are extremely expensive, and secondly, it seemed like a status symbol type of purchase -- that people bragged about their Dysons because they paid so much for them, not because they were actually good vacuums. I mean, how good can a vacuum really be to justify paying that price for it? Then I saw the commercial for the Dyson cordless V6 Animal vacuums -- I admit I was intrigued! I still didn't believe they could really be that great, but when they went on sale on Black Friday 2016 I finally decided to purchase one. I got it from Best Buy knowing I could bring it back if it was just mediocre as I expected it to be. How very wrong I was! This vacuum is worth every penny! I've recently retired and am cleaning my house from top to bottom, and this vacuum has made it so EASY! It's lightweight, and easy to keep with me no matter what kind of tight space I'm working in -- the attachments are lightweight and remove and attach easily, and the attachments reach virtually ANYWHERE! The vacuum is weighted for a woman -- so I can easily maneuver it anywhere I need to, just as they showed on the demonstration videos! I have mild arthritis in my shoulder and arm and hand, but it doesn't hurt when I use the Dyson. No more lifting a heavy vacuum in tight spaces, and not being able to maneuver it where I need it to go without hurting myself. I vacuumed under my bed, and the vacuum just laid flat and I could vacuum all the way under it easily and quickly! It's so lightweight and balanced in such a way that vacuuming just seems sort of intuitive, like it "knows" what I want it to do, and it never disappoints! It removes dust and dirt from corners and tight spaces quickly and easily! This vacuum is really NOT comparable to any other vacuum on the market. Its far above and beyond a normal vacuum cleaner. As for the battery life, it's worked perfectly for me! I have a very small house, and only work in a small area at one time, so I just plug it back into its holder when I'm not using it and it charges right back up. The charging wall holder is just amazing and so convenient!! The one con would be that the debris cannister is quite small -- we have three very large dogs, so I end up with a LOT of hair in the cannister every time I vacuum, but it's really simple to empty it out, so it hasn't been a problem. I'm just so VERY glad I bought this vacuum. I never thought I could be so enthusiastic about a vacuum cleaner, but I love my Dyson!!!

    Dyson V6 & V8 Hand-held Vacuum Cleaners

I own several Dyson vacuum cleaners - floor models and handheld units (all purchased from Best Buy) and all of the ones with the lavender top loading cartridge filter are just simply crap, as these filters continuously become clogged; thus, the machine will only run-stop-run-stop, etc. Although these handheld units are very handy and great to use for touch-ups, they do not do well for pet owners...even for those with small terriers which do not shed heavily. BTW, fully charged run time was never an issue for me. Though Dyson customer service personnel had me partially disassemble the unit and clean the additional filters and perform other related tasks, they too were unable to rectify the issue, but did supply me with (free) additional lavender filters; however, these too become quickly and too easily/continuously clogged. Washing/drying them (as instructed) will allow the unit to only run for a few minutes and then once again it's run-stop-run-stop...bah! My older Dyson handheld units (non-top mounted cartridge filter type) always work without issue...aside from the fact that the replacement battery in the oldest unit also croaked and now Dyson has advised that those batteries are now unavailable. I will never again purchase a Dyson V6 or V8 hand-held vacuum (with top loading lavender cartridge filters)...which I always eventually pass-on to those family members without pets...cheers.

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The issue described is what we call pulsating and is a feature built into the vacuum to alert you when an obstruction is present. It is likely this obstruction is not located in the filter.

We would value the opportunity to address this in further detail. Feel free to contact us at askdysonUS@dyson.com and we will be happy to help.

This is not my first Dyson but it may be my last. I have an animal upright, and when I got tired of dragging it to the carport to clean the dog hair out of the car, I went shopping for a handheld. I bought a V6 trigger for about $140 and was proud of the sales price. It worked great in the car, and other places around the house that the animal seemed too big for. I thought about the stairs but wished I had the stick and powerhead that the cordless vacuum had. I called Dyson and they said that they don't sell those parts for the trigger. I would need to buy a cordless vacuum. The V6 animal went on sale so I bought it. It came with the same accessories that the V6 trigger came with except for the stick and the powerhead. The vacuums look exactly alike. But the stick and powerhead fits only one. The attachments are altered just enough that they are not interchangeable. For a company that sells vacuums that are hundreds of dollars, you can afford to have interchangeable parts!

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The Dyson V6 Stick vacuums are interchangeable in that you can use it as a stick vacuum or handheld. However, if you decide to purchase just a handheld, like the V6 Trigger, it is just a handheld as advertised.

I bought this for my wife as a Christmas gift primarily to do quick clean ups on our kitchen and main floor daily, primarily on hardwood and tile flooring. We have two small kids and they make a mess. I got a sweet price and that’s why I was willing to take a chance despite some so so reviews. While I can’t seem to understand why any product doesn’t come with interchangeable battery packs these days, it is what it is. I never had any intent to use it as a primary vacuum or to replace our upright plug in. However, I find myself using this guy for everything. I can easily do each floor of our home on a charge (approximately 900 sq feet). We use the plug in upstairs in our carpeted bedrooms, but the animal everywhere else. It has enough juice to do my 900 sq foot carpeted basement in one charge and I don’t have to carry the big vacuum down the two flights of stairs. Despite being a much smaller motor and not necessarily designed for their work, I feel it does an amazing job of cleaning. The cup is full and I have no idea where it came from. We don’t have any pets, but the amount of hair it cleans up from my wife and daughter is disgusting. I do have to regularly clean out the power heads, but they are designed to be cleaned easily. I really do love this thing and my wife is jealous. It was a gift for her after all.

We were tired of pushing around heavy vacuums so we decided to get a lightweight vacuum. We considered the Shark corded and cordless, but the Dyson passed our in-store tests. We have 2/3 tile floors and 1/3 carpeted floors at our house. It really meets all of our requirements, except for runtime. We were not going to pay an additional $150 for the V8 with its double battery, so that is all the complaining I can give this topic for the V6. Its only other downside is that you have to keep the trigger depressed for it to run, and that gets tiring after 5 minutes; a lock or a palm switch would be easier. It lasts about 20 minutes, or on MAX only 6 minutes. It took a few days with charge cycles and runtime to figure out that we never really need MAX. Either floor type worked fine at the regular setting and we could see everything swirling around the canister while we cleaned, so we knew it was doing its job. So one or two rooms at a time and back to the charger. Because of its small shape a that it is so lightweight it gets right under sofas, beds, and tables; no more missed areas. It is fun to use still after a month. And in dustbuster mode, it kicks butt; I never had anything that could clean the cars so easily. Only the shop vac had more suction, but now I don't have to wind up 50' of extension cord. Because of the ease of use and low weight, we vacuum sofas and seats which were previously avoided due to size and weight of a shop vac. Now the seats are maintained cleaner than before.

I've had my eye on this little vacuum for about a year now. I really wanted a cordless vacuum. Actually, I want everything including all my power tools cordless now these days as well. On that note, I must say that I love the design of the wall mount with the charging cable that fits right in every time you mount it back up. Since this Dyson vacuum is the only contender on the market, the only comparisons I had to make was between the least and most expensive one. I realized that each model of these Dyson vacuums are all the same. They are the same in power and same in size. The only differences are that they come with extra attachment options and they come in different colors. Well, as for me I'm most definitely not getting the pink or purple ones (maybe Dyson should rethink their color scheme since this product also appeals to men). So my choice was between the white one (cheapest) and the red one (most expensive). As I said, the only difference is the attachment handles, so I went with the white one. I don't really need all those extra attachment handles. And if I did want to buy them separately, I'd still be saving money because they're cheaper to buy separately than in the bundle all together with the red (more expensive one). I thought this would be a good point to make for any consumer to read before buying the most expensive one. Most expensive is not always the best. They all work the same. The only thing I wish this product had was a longer lasting battery. Longer battery life with the new Lithium-Ion battery technology they have these days is very important.

This stick vac is really easy to put together and to use. I have used it several times and the suction is still great. Very easy to empty the tank into the waste basket. Sometimes dust and hair get stuck in the tank, but it's super easy to clean out. Very easy to maneuver around corners and under tables, etc... definitely makes me want to vacuum more often since it's so easy to grab this stick vac and go. I can't believe the amount of dust, etc.. this vac finds! When reading the reviews prior to deciding to purchase this vac, I was a little concerned about the 20 minute run time and 3.5 hour charge time, but honestly, 20 minutes has turned out to be plenty of time for me to cover a lot of ground. And the 3.5 hour charge time is really not 3.5 hours. Mine fully charges in a couple of hours tops. I just go do other things when it needs to charge and the time goes by fast. I have all hardwood floors in my house with the exception of my carpeted stairs and this vac does a great job on both! I highly recommend this product.... it's so easy to use/maneuver, much easier than lugging out the big heavy vacuum, and really has enabled me to keep up with my constantly shedding pup with ease : )

This is indeed a powerful vacuum. I did my fair share of research via YouTube and saw that this vacuum was more powerful than the other ones that had a cord. BUT...by no means is this a 5-star vacuum. Stating with the obvious high price point...I feel like you expect more. If I hadn't bought this as a Doorbuster, I would have for sure returned it. Another flaw is that you have to keep your finger pressed on the 'trigger' in order for the vacuum to run. No bueno. I have developed somewhat of an acute carpool tunnel syndrome. My fingers and hand start to hurt after a while. The charging process is absolutely ridiculous for a $500 vacuum! You HAVE to charge it for 3.5 hours in order to JUST get 20 minutes of vacuum time(6 minutes if you're on MAX!). No bueno. Lastly, emptying out the canister that holds all of the dirt and junk can get difficult. I don't recommend this vacuum. There are a lot of flaws for such an expensive vacuum. If you have the extra cash, I recommend looking into the v8 or another one with more running time per charge. Or choosing another vacuum where you indeed get more 'bang for you buck'.

Hi Brian, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson V6 Animal. I am sorry to hear you are less than satisfied with the vacuum. The Dyson range of cordless vacuum cleaners has a battery-enhancing trigger. Battery power is only on when the trigger is pushed – this means that the battery is only used for cleaning, and is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles.

The V6 is great for in between cleanings, quick clean ups or small areas as it does feature 20 minutes of constant suction in standard mode and 6 minutes on MAX power for tougher jobs as advertised.

I am not a fan of Dyson's to begin with b/c of the hefty price tags and the fact that they are completely messy to deal with but my wife desperately wanted a cordless lightweight vac to do our wood floors; we thought that this one fit the bill but were sadly mistaken. The battery lasts exactly 12 minutes (only 6 minutes if using the "max" vacuum feature) and needs to be charged again for 3.5 hours; you can't even vacuum a single room before it quits. This product is definitely not worth the hefty $400 price tag; I was right to not like Dyson's to begin with and I will never buy another one. It does vacuum okay for a few of the minutes the battery works but I am not sure what purpose the vacuum serves for anyone only working a few minutes at a time; seems like cordless technology is still many years away. If you only need to vacuum something for a couple of minutes and can afford to spend hundreds of dollars for the ease of cordless then I guess this would work for you but it is not at all practical for me.

Hi Mike, I am sorry to hear that you are not a fan and we hope your wife was still able to enjoy the machine. V6 provides a 20 minute run time before the battery runs out. That is because V6 has a run time enhancing trigger – meaning that you are only using energy when you really want to be cleaning, rather than leaving it running when you’re moving furniture or moving from one room to the next. In developing the V6, Dyson engineers researched how long people like to clean, and found that the vast majority of people clean for less than 25 minutes in one session. Many people, for example those living in apartments in metropolitan areas, find 20 minutes proves to be long enough. Although if you live in a much bigger home, we would recommend that V6 be used for in-between cleans, rather than deep whole home cleans.

Further, using a nickel manganese cobalt battery pack, V6 releases its charge evenly so there is no drop in performance. Other cordless machines may claim longer run times, but thanks to fading batteries, clogging bags and filters, they can quickly lose up to half their suction power in use.

Please consider emailing us directly with your contact information to askdysonUS@dyson.com and we will be in touch.

This is our second Dyson purchase this year. We purchased a multi-surface Dyson in March 2015. I didn't know how much cat hair and carpet fiber I was missing!. It is heavy and awkward on stairs. We have used an Ergonomics for the past 7 years on vinyl floors but the suction has been getting weaker even with replacing the filter unit. So I looked at Dyson cordless models. I had orginally wanted the Motorhead model but for the same price my husband wanted the more expensive Animal V-6 cordless. I read reviews and agree that the waste compartment is small. This machine like it's big daddy models really extract hair and fibers and dirt and crumbs from the surface it is being used on, so the waste container gets full quickly. It is easy to empty. It is lighter weight than the multifloor model we have. I bought it to do our carpeted staircases (I keep a wastebasket nearby) and cat sand around litter boxes on ceramic tile. Because of the beater bar it is not for use on wood floors. The charge has lasted and I have not had the unit 'die' on me. It is always charged up and ready for me or my husband to use. Instructions tell you to take out the filter and rinse once a month. It needs 24 hours to dry. I however need the machine on a daily-hourly basis so I have found this hard to work-in in a 24 hour period. I do own a broom and dustpan and use these when the Dyson is not available during this time. It works well for what I want but it is not maintenance free.

One of my buddies has the V7 by Dyson and loved it so much, he talked me into buying this guy. The V6 animal is awesome! It’s got the direct drive brush head (like the V7), and comes with a bunch of other attachments. The 20 minute battery seemed like it may be a challenge. I was tempted to get the V7 just because of the extra 10 minute charge time, but determined spending an extra $120 wasn’t worth it. And to tell the truth, 20 minutes of continuous vacuuming is quite a long time. These cordless vacuums, the V6 and V7, have a trigger you have to be actively pulling to power the vacuum, which means any time you set the vacuum down, or pause vacuuming, the unit isn’t using battery. So while the chore may take longer than twenty minutes while you move and shift things and move the vacuum to other rooms, I have never run out of battery while vacuuming my house because of the trigger power button. Other nice uses: Vacuuming stairs takes a quarter of the time now I can vacuum my car by removing the pole attachment It’s great for cleaning air vents It’s a great vacuum.

I was skeptical when we saw this vacuum in the store. It's odd looking and expensive. I'd had 2 inexpensive stick vacuums that didn't last or work very well on our hardwood floors and rugs. We have 4 dogs, so we needed a good vacuum. This Dyson is amazing and worth the money. We've only had it 2 weeks; but I've used most of the tools and used the vacuum most every day. I've cleaned the sofa with the hand held portion and mini motor tool, the car interior as well, and the full vacuum on hardwoods; rugs and steps. We have a Kirby, but I don't like to use it. It's heavy and awkward so we keep it downstairs for the basement carpet. However, I used the Dyson on that downstairs carpet and it did a fantastic job. It's very versatile and goes under the bed all the way and into tight areas. Quick and easy to use and no cord! Plenty of suction for pet hair. I do empty the cup out often as its not very large, but not a big deal as its easy and quick to empty as I pass by a trash can. It easily goes from hardwood to rug without missing a beat....then to the linoleum in the kitchen....and to the deeper carpet downstairs. * lightweight * plenty of suction * versatile -goes around corners and tight spaces * detach wand from motor and you have a hand held cordless vac for sofa or car or stairs. Downside: small cup, but not a big deal compared to the great features of the vacuum.

I would highly recommend this Dyson Animal V6. It is an expensive vacuum but it's worth it for quick jobs. I use this for spot cleaning so I don't have to use my regular Hoover vacuum. Let me tell you, I used my Hoover and then tried my new Dyson and it was amazing at what this cordless vacuum picked up. I was in shock. This cordless vacuum has so much suction and power it will blow your mind. The only downside to this purchase is, it takes about 3 hours to charge and you get about 20mins of run time using the sweeper attachment, less time if you use the max vacuum function. If you use the attachments, you will get more run time. I haven't used the attachments yet to see how long it will run though. It comes with several attachments and an upholstery brush. You can also mount the vacuum to the wall or just store the vacuum in the closet, which I do. The wall mount doesn't come with screws, so you're on your own if your choose that route. I also like the fact that you can go from carpet to hardwood and tile without having to stop and change settings. You can even get under couches, beds and dressers. The Dyson does come with a 2 yr warranty if you register online. Over all I would highly recommend this vacuum and I'm very pleased with this purchase. My next purchase will be a Dyson vacuum to replace my Hoover.

We've had the Dyson for almost two years. It's been great and is very convenient for a quick vacuum. Much easier to use than the standard bulky corded vacuum. We have two shedding dogs so we are constantly vacuuming. I am giving 4 stars for two reasons that may not be an issue for everyone depending on pets and size of home. We wish the collection tank was easier to empty/clean and/or larger. An extra inch in circumferance would make a big difference. All of the dog hair gets so packed in that I usually have to use a knife to remove the hair. The opening in the tank is so tight that is difficult to even stick a knife all the way around. The second issue is battery life. A single full charge will sometimes not make it all the way thru all the rooms in our 2200 sqft house. It will often die right when we're almost done. The pros outway the cons, but we often end up using the "old" vacuum when the house needs a deep clean

I was very happy with my first purchase for almost 2 yrs, but then the motor died. Thankfully I purchased the warranty. The second one lasted just over a year. Now I am ready to go get a Third one, because my second one lasted just over 2 months!! I use this vacuum about 4 times a week, mostly on hard floors and on a couple of low pile throw rugs. I have 2 dogs that shed, and 2 cats, so this place gets pretty hairy. I purchase the Pet vacuum, knowing how much hair I vacuum, each time, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm not very happy with how long the vacuum lasts. It seems to be getting worse and worse each time! I used to run it a good 15 minutes each time (not on max) and this last time, it ran for 2 minutes. I will try one more time, but next time, if it stops running again after just a few months of owning it, I will be switching to a Shark cordless vacuum. Make sure you purchase the warranty! You will need it!

Wow. This vacuum is so good I had to write a review. We purchased the large stand up Dyson Animal Ball vacuum in 2012 and to this day it still dominates any vacuum on the market. The downside to the animal vacuum is it has a cord and overall it is pretty bulky to try to carry up and down the stairs. The whole design and functionality of the expandable tube is extremely flawed. I was actually relieved to see others saying the same thing bc i had actually thought mine was defective. That brings me to this vacuum. I was mostly hesitant to buy it bc I kept thinking the battery time wasn't worth the high cost. Well. Let me tell you this vacuum is more than enough. It sucks up more than my stand up and is so easy to use and mount. My house has 2 small kids , 3 dog-like cats, and a wife who almost sheds more. My rugs look fluffy and new again after using this. I have yet to run out of battery and like everyone said unless you are the slowest person ever it will be more than enough time. I now vacuum almost every day like I should have always been doing and this has replaced my large stand up completely.

Read a bunch of reviews and a lot of people had mostly only positive things to say. I've gifted two dysons in the past but hadn't bought one for myself, so when I saw that this was on sale I figured why not give it a shot. Plus it is a good size for my living space and Is cordless. This vacuum is very powerful for being as small as it is. Has plenty of handy attachments, it's light and picked up everything - the tiniest of dust particles - my old vacuum couldn't. Dual power levels means you can run at max suction power for a shorter amount of time or on the lower setting for much longer.. I can't wait to see how this works out over the next few years but for now I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a light cordless handheld vacuum for an apartment or smaller living space.

Your get what you pay for. First purchased a Shark stick (corded) vacuum. Does a good job, but when the wife saw the animal cordless stick vacuum on sale she wanted to try it. Ended up being more powerful and with the extra accessories it was a better choice, more expensive, but worth the extra after using both. So if you want the best cleaning, the most choices on accessories and you can afford it, the Dyson is your best choice. One wish, one complaint. Wish it had the HEPA filter, I couldn't justify spending the extra $$ to get the unit with the HEPA filter. The complaint is the battery life. You're lucky to get 10-15 mins in high suction mode, 15-25 in normal mode. Dyson should create a system with removable batteries like cordless drills have. Also it's not a fast charger, takes a few hours to fully charge. For me this is a second vacuum, to do the things my Dyson upright is to bulky to do. Spot cleaning, furniture, stairs, AC vents, tile floors and some carpets. When I want to deep clean I bring out the upright.(Also a Dyson animal) I have four dogs :-)

This has got to be the lightest vacuum cleaner I have ever used! Using it is effortless, weighing little more than the broom we keep in the closet. Since our other vacuum is a Kirby and is extremely heavy, this is a welcome feature and results in us using the vacuum cleaner more often. Having three cats, we really appreciate its ability to pick up cat hair and help us keep our home clean. We haven't made use of most of the attachments, but what we have used has worked well. Due to our cats, we do have to keep an eye on the dirt collected in the machine to ensure that it is emptied when needed, but this is an easy task with the clear container and easy access door for emptying it. The battery life could be much longer, as we rarely are done with vacuuming chores before it runs down, and is the main reason for not giving it a five star rating. For quick or smaller jobs though, it works like a champ. We still use the Kirby from time to time, but this Dyson vacuum cleaner is much more pleasant to use due to its light weight and strong motor.
