Outstanding Power and Efficiency

The Dyson DC58 V6 Trigger Hand Vac is a powerful hand-vac with exceptionally long lasting battery and two levels of vacuum because of it's boost button (shortens battery reserve but significantly boost suction power. In addition to overall brilliant design to optimize efficiency, the reversible attachment eliminates the necessity for several separate attachments to keep track of and carry with the vac. Highly recommend this to anyone who needs a good battery operated hand held for 20minutes or so. Anymore than that and you should consider plug in because longer battery duration will necessitate sacrifice in suction power. Yes, price is hard to accept given plastic housing etc., but that is by exquisite design, which minimizes weight and maximizes efficiency. Super-high quality, extreme efficiency components not visible but definitely justify the price.

Tough Buggard

I'm giving this hand held vacuum cleaner a 4 because it's light weight and tough. Although the sleek modern look and feel it has some very minor draw backs where it does really have a bendable attachment. The recharge time is adequate but holds a charge for quite some time depending on how you use the speeds of suction. It's a bit tricky to empty the canister or to detach it. I guess practice makes perfect. Lastly the buggard is pricey, make sure to register it or take or Best Buy protection. That's all folks.

Worth the money?

I was initially excited about this piece being mobile, which later turned out to be not so great due to its short-lasting battery. If you set this at the maximum power, most likely it would last no more than 20 minutes. Other than that, it is a non-bulky and light-weighted device with powerful suction. Worth the money? Hmm. I am not so sure... Hope you find this helpful.

Handles easily. Adequate power. Would like longer battery life. Would like the ability to have an attachment with a hose to reach difficult to access areas.

suction is superb. this is my 2nd Dyson vacuum cleaner in over a decade and the trademarked technology is why i'll continue to come back to them.
surprisingly, just as my main vacuum cleaner had some head scratching implementation issues, so does this one.
advert claims:
"Hygienic bin emptying
Just push the button to release the dirt."
its anything but hygienic. lever unlocks the bottom door that flops down, but to get anything but fine dust, (like hairs, dust clumps, fur, etc) prepare to get messy. you'll have to arm yourself with something to reach inside the canister and scrape things out. since you cant really do that inside a trash can, a lot of the dust cloud will be right back out on the floor.
the top loading filter has no way of being restrained in place and fall out Every Time that the device is upside down, or sideways enough for gravity to overrule friction.
both these issues are design faults that could easily have been caught by any R&D team actually using these things in home-like test environments.
another, smaller disappointment is that Dyson appears to not be a fan of customization and expandability, as the attachments of this model are not compatible with an upright vacuum cleaner i have from them.
all that said, for suction power Dyson still cant be beat. which unfortunately might be why they are so lack luster in other aspects of a vacuum cleaner design. would i buy this again if there was no better alternative? sure. id rant about it again all the same.

I was skeptical at first but thought I would give it a try when it went on sale. It is definitely a great buy. It has exceptional suction, the battery lasts a good while if not used on Max setting, and the dust cup is very easy to empty. It is light and easy to use for spot cleaning. I have had many other cordless hand vacs, but this one is definitely a winner! It even does better than some corded vacuums.

For small clean ups, this thing is the vacuum equivalent of bringing a bazooka to a knife fight. It's going to literally wipe the floor of anything not attached. I bought it primarily to hoover up my beard hair after a trim and it does that really well. Now sI find myself looking for reasons to use it (and there are plenty because I'm a messy guy!). This includes but is not limited too: Cleaning up after the coffee grinder, sucking up any bugs around the house that have died, And catching one house fly.
One thing I really appreciate is the integrated combo Brush nozzle attachment. There's no way I'm going to keep up with multiple attachments for this thing, so having it built into the vacuum itself is a big plus. The vacuum itself is heavy compared to it's lesser competition, but its well balanced in the hand and doesn't feel as heavy as it is. Dyson did a really good job here.
I will say that this thing is loud and your dog is going to hate it. But vacuums and dogs have been enemies since the beginning of time so that's no surprise.
This is the cheapest vacuum in the line but I suspect it packs as much punch as the rest of Dyson's handhelds. If you buy one of the other ones you are likely paying for other attachments, so look at each one and get the version that suits your needs the best. Then you can stroll about your house with your hand on the trigger and play dust sheriff all day long (well for 20 min at a time or so which is as long as the battery lasts and as long as that game can conceivably be considered fun).

I guess I'm a bit of a vacuum junkie -- I have bought and tried a boatload of them over the years. This is my third Dyson handheld -- the first is still going, I bought the second one because it was newer and better, but then I ruined it when I inadvertently vacuumed up quite a bit of water that I wasn't expecting to be there. In looking for a replacement, I considered a number of alternatives, but Dyson was once again just the best investment to make. And, I would say that this is definitely better than my previous model -- with the new motor and improvements to the design, it's just that much more competent than the previous designs.
Since I had all of the attachments and such from previous models, I only needed the head, so I was glad to see that I could get one without all of the floor-model attachments that I already had. And it certainly works just fine with all of my older attachments.
In the end, I'm very satisfied with it -- I use it all the time for cleaning my car and for quick clean-ups around the house.

This device can be pricey but once you use it. It's worth the money. Great suction, compact. The only slight downside is holding the "power on" mechanism to make it run. Your hand can tire out quickly depending upon the size of the cleaning job.

The performance of this vacuum is great, better than other hand-helds I have owned. It works well both in the regular mode and in the high-vacuum mode, but the high vacuum mode will kill the battery pretty fast.
The only thing I don't like is that when the vacuum is off, the washable filter that protects the motor from dust falls out easily.

This vacuum is a nice and portable. It has a good amount of suction power for grass, lint, small stones. I mainly use it to clean out the cars. The only drawback may be the vacuum's capability to hold a charge for a long time.

The item works as advertised. It's great for being able to clean my car with. The only downsides is that it's sound is different from that of a regular vacuum - specifically, it's whir is higher-pitched than a regular vacuum (and quite loud for its size) in a way that, at least for me, is quite unpleasant for the ear. However, it is definitely quite powerful, easy to clean and charges quickly. It would be great if the battery could be detached for charging, so I could just bring that in the house when it needs a charge. Another plus is that Dyson's product, or at least this one, seem to work a lot like computers in that there is a core piece - like this thing - and then you can "upgrade it" with peripherals...in this case, the motorized brush head and long tube, which can be bought as stand alone pieces, to make it function as an, if small, fully functional vacuum.

I bought my first Dyson a year ago. I love it since. I bought one for my son for his college graduation gift, he loves his too. I bought this one for cleaning my car and my sofas after my cats sat on it. Its DYSON: It works fantastic, handy and very light weight. I'm glad I purchase this one because I don't have to carry my Compact Upright Dyson for a small vacuming job in my house. If you think this one can clean your whole house, you will be disappointed. But if you need to clean a small area, this one is the perfect choice.

This is my 2nd Dyson handheld vacuum, I decided to try it after being increasingly frustrated with the fast draining battery on their 1st model. They got it 100% right with this product! It's got more suction than any other handheld I tried & combined with the variety of attachments, it's my #1 go-to for quick clean ups!

I have dyson DC26. I wanted to buy this product because of easy to use. I liked it very much. One of thing I don't like is air comming to my face while I'm vaccuing. It is very convinient. It is small and light. Power is strong enough. I wanted to buy for my parents but a little hard to use for old people.

This hand held vac is powerful for what it is. It is also limited in its use. I have the large Dyson that has a stair attachment. I can use that on this hand held vac. The only issue is the battery life. If you use the vac in its most powerful setting it only lasts a few minutes before it needs recharging.

I was looking for a handheld vacuum for quick cleanup and this Dyson V6 fits the bill. It's powerful and easy to operate and empty. The battery life isn't tremendous, but I only use it for a few minutes at a time (3 to 5 minutes max).

This is a great little handheld vac. It is great for any small job. I read complaints about the charge time, but have not found this to be a problem. I use it several times a week to keep the dog hair cleaned up outside my dogs crate and any dust that has collected in my kitchen. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a super vac. Love it!

Overall I'm happy with the purchase of our Dyson handheld vacuum, it does a great job with dog hair on out tile floors. The only part we weren't happy with, was while looking at it and talking with the sales person they never mentioned it doesn't come with the charging base all of the Dyson handhelds are displayed with. Went back to the store to find this out. This was a replacement for an older model, which came with a charging base, but that base isn't compatible with the new model. The charging base wasn't available so we ended up getting one through eBay.
I recommend the vacuum, but be aware you don't get the wall mount charging base.
