I/they like the ease of pushing it around the hardwood floors when vacuuming. The battery life was definitely showing decline, 20 min when new, Jan 14 to 3 min of use by April 20th. This is now used to vacuum up dust and dirt that has been pre-swept into a pile.

Posted .Hello Robe, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our cordless models feature a run-time enhancing trigger, hygienic bin emptying, and a variety of tools and attachments to tackle varying cleaning tasks. With regard to battery life on our V7, your machine features two power modes, regular and MAX. Right out of the box, the machine will be set to MAX power, which provides a generous boost of suction power to tackle more stubborn messes or larger debris. In this mode, your run time will be up to 7 minutes. For everyday household vacuuming, regular power mode will provide sufficient suction, along with 20-30 minutes of run time, depending on the tool being used.
Battery degradation over the life of the machine would be normal; we do recommend allowing time for the machine to cool after use (especially in MAX suction mode), as charging a warm battery can cause the life to deplete at a faster rate. Also, be sure the charger is plugged directly in to a wall socket, and that you're not using a power strip or extension cord. It was okay but step up a bit

Attachments and portability/versatility is great but not if it keeps dying every 10 mins. Traded up to the v10 animal pro and boy what a difference! Definitely get what you pay for with Dyson. Still recommend if it’s on super sale though.

We can confirm that Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Amazing vacuum

I really like the cordless feature! So convenient. The trigger is a bit sensitive and I'm still not quite used to that. Also can use it basically as a "dust buster" (for those of you from the 80's who remember them), so that is really nice too.

Decided to purchase the V7 for quick kitchen and car cleanups . On a full charge I can vacuum 2 large full carpeted rooms on max setting and tile and hardwood floors on normal setting. I just wish the V7 had a locking trigger to keep it powered on when in use. Love the form and function of all my Dyson products.

Don't waste your time or money buying any other vacuum. Might as well just go with the best and you know you're getting quality. It does everything it supposed to do, and it does it extremely well. I wish the battery lasted longer on high-speed, but it lasts long enough for me to get the job done.
