For the entire house though, the battery will die. I especially liked the mini head attachment. Great for the couch and car.

Only downside is the short battery life when on max power; but it gives me a good excuse to stop cleaning!

I have to be quick and strategic when it is time to vacuum the house ... no dawdling allowed! Then, it needs to be recharged for 3.5 hours before I can use it again :(

It had strong suction on the max setting and very good battery life. After about a month the battery life was significantly degraded, which Dyson customer service said was normal. Fast forward to 11 months after the purchase and the battery totally died. I will recognize that Dyson did send us a replacement battery and it is working well at the moment but for the price and short duration of the battery life I would not purchase again.

Your machine does feature two suction modes, regular and MAX. Right out of the box after purchase, your machine will be in MAX mode, which while providing a boost of suction, does provide significantly less run times. In regular suction mode, you'll get 20-30 minutes of fade-free run time, which is more suitable for everyday vacuuming. It was much better quality than the generic brand I tried (and returned) from another online retailer. Good battery life for our small home. No problems running out of juice so far. Had it a couple weeks and still working on getting to know the best attachment for each job. My biggest complaint: The largest attachment with the rotating head misses the big chunks. Namely my pine cat litter. So I can't just jet around the house with a single attachment and get all the problem areas. I have to keep changing out the attachments, which is kinda a pain. Will see how my opinion changes as I get more acquainted with the vacuum.

The Dyson is very practical and has an adjustable suction control for light and heavier vacuuming. I would highly recommend it!

Whenever I don't want to pass the vacuum I tell the kids to. Surprisingly, they have fun cleaning because of this.

On low power mode, the battery lasts long enough to finish the whole house. It's also light enough to do the stairs, and not break our backs!
