I kept it but I should have returned it to be perfectly honest because I feel misled by Dyson 30 minute operating banner!

Posted .Hello Adam, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've been unhappy with the run time from your Dyson V7 Animal. Having 8 minutes of run time sounds like you're using the machine mainly in MAX suction mode. While this mode does provide a boost of suction, it's more ideal for larger debris or more stubborn messes. For your everyday vacuuming, regular suction mode should be sufficient.
All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool. Dyson Animal variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.

The Dyson V7 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner has a run-time enhancing trigger. Battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool.
When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.

Love this Dyson so much has to buy this for my grandma. Great for hardwood floors, carpet (low carpets no shag) sofas with the small attachment. This is also great for technology too, as it’s easy to get behind monitors, TV’s, game consoles.
