Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've been unhappy with the run time your V7 offers. The Dyson V7 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner has a run-time enhancing trigger. Battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool.
When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.

Unit looked dusty like it had been used. Didn't even work out the box. Charged for 5 hours like it said to. Light comes on like its supposed to and NOTHING. Waste of my time and money. going to have to return this and a pray there is no issues in doing so. Dyson customer support sucks too. Only automated service, nearly impossible to get a person on the phone.

Extensive battery testing has shown us that batteries locked into the machine provide a more reliable electrical connection and provide stronger, more consistent power over time. The battery in our cordless models is screwed in and we do not recommend removing unless absolutely necessary.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thanks for sharing your review. We're happy to share that use of the dock is optional. The wall dock is included with each cord-free machine, however as it does not charge the machine without the charger, it's not necessary to use it.
With regard to the trigger, we know that battery run time is a very important aspect of performance for our owners, so we developed a trigger that helps maximize the amount of time you can clean on one charge. We chose a light-touch trigger over an on/off switch to ensure that battery life is never wasted by letting the machine run when it's not in active use.
