Great vacuum unless you have pets in the house. Doesn’t do too well with a lot of hair. Works great for hardwood floors but might want to look for another option if you’ve got a considerable amount of carpet.

For years I have been wanting a Dyson because they have supposedly been known as the best. After a couple of months I can honestly say that they suck.... Half the time it doesnt even pick up stuff from the floor, on fill power and when empty. I have already had issues with the empty mechanism getting stuck and the connections seem to loosen up pretty quick as well. I like the versatility of it. However I can get the same versatility in a Shark that will clean 10x better. So as the title says. Buy a Shark instead...

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm happy to hear that you've found the Dyson V7 Fluffy to be so versatile, in your use. It's very unusual to hear that you've found the machine to leave debris behind on your floor. While regular power is suitable for most household messes, you may find that some debris is more stubborn to pick up and does require MAX power mode. While in MAX power, your unit will receive a boost of power, making suction more powerful. When fully charged, you can expect run time from 7-30 minutes, depending on which suction mode and tools you are using. We would value the opportunity to ensure that your unit is performing as intended as we are committed to customer satisfaction. Please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected]. We are keen on providing support.

This vacuum was purchased in June. It was easy to assemble, and light to carry and use around the house. However, the battery life for this vacuum socks. It would run for about 10 minutes or less and then it stops. Initially I thought it might need more time to charge but still. I am so disappointed as I feel I got an item with bad battery. I am hoping that best buy or Dyson will do the right thing and send me a new battery asap.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're happy to hear that you found the Dyson V7 Fluffy so easy to assemble, appreciated how light in weight this machine is. Our cordless models feature a run-time enhancing trigger, hygienic bin emptying, and a variety of tools and attachments to tackle varying cleaning tasks. With regard to battery life on our V7, your machine features two power modes, regular and MAX. Right out of the box, the machine will be set to MAX power, which provides a generous boost of suction power to tackle more stubborn messes or larger debris. In this mode, your run time will be up to 7 minutes. For everyday household vacuuming, regular power mode will provide sufficient suction, along with 20-30 minutes of run time, depending on the tool being used. If you're only getting about 10 minutes of run time, it does sound like you are using the machine in MAX power. We would recommend fully charging your machine, and switching the slider to regular power to obtain the longest run time with your vacuum.

We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your Dyson as we'd like to help ensure you are having a 5-star experience. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected], and we will be in touch.

Vacuum works well, but battery weakens and only holds a ~10 minute charge, after a couple of months. I bought a backup battery for longer use time. Battery is not a quick swap! I bought the Jet 70 Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with Turbo Action Brush in Violet, by Samsung . Great machine and battery is quick swap and last a full charge time.!!!

Love how lightweight the vacuum is. Very satisfied with the suction power and the fact that it's cordless. All the attachments are given fit to reach any corner of the house. Good for hardwood and tile floors. It's lightweight because the waste canister is so small. I find myself having to dump out the canister very often. It's a little annoying but there is not a lot of trash on my floor so it's ok. I still enjoy the convenience of a cordless vacuum.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review of the Dyson V7 Fluffy. I'm happy to hear that you've had such a positive experience with your Dyson product. We speak to our owners frequently and they tell us that cordless vacuums have changed the way they clean. We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean. The bin is a smaller size than what you'd find on an upright or canister, in order to keep the weight of the machine low and maintain the easy maneuverability of the vacuum.

Mixed feelings on this one. I like the look of it, the simplicity of assembly, the usefulness of a cordless design, and generally speaking it works very well depending on your use case. But it feels like those use cases are going to be fairly limited by the battery itself, which is probably the main reason to buy this thing in the first place. For starters, you're lucky if you get 30 minutes on a charge and really that's not long enough to do much more than basic tidying of a surface. I have a hard time imagining how this could possibly replace any corded vacuum, and perhaps it's not supposed to, but then you have to ask yourself if it's worth spending $300 on something you're only going to use occasionally. My answer: I don't know. I just used this to clean my car, which is a mid-sized SUV. Nothing huge. It's great to be able to just pop out the handheld part, grab the crevice tool, and go. But I found I had difficulty using the vacuum (with or without the crevice) on the lower energy level to clean a modest amount of crumbs and debris from the carpet and rubber cargo mat of my car. I put it in the maximum suction mode and it worked great... until the battery died right before I could clean the last floormat. I don't think it lasted much more than 20 minutes tops, in this mode. Also, there was no indication the battery was going to die (unless a light blinked and I missed it). It just stops and you're done. Two final things. Using the crevice tool and on maximum suction makes a very loud whistling noise that feels out of place for a premium device such as this. Ditto the fact that after cleaning the car I have a red mark on the top of my thumb where it rubbed up against the hard plastic. I'm not sure how else to hold it to prevent that. It would be nice to see Dyson tweak the design to eliminate this. I'm not going to wear gloves while vacuuming, nope. So, there you have it. Some pros, some cons. Battery life is the biggest and most obvious concern that won't be an issue for everyone. But it feels like it shouldn't be an issue for ANYONE at this price. That needs to improve.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review of the Dyson V7 Fluffy Cord-Free. I am happy to hear that you found this vacuum so simple to assemble, and easy-to use in your use, up until this point. We speak to our owners frequently and they tell us that cordless vacuums have changed the way they clean. We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean.

The Dyson V7 Fluffy, like with all of our other cordless vacuum cleaners, has a run-time enhancing trigger. Battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool. When using your machine in MAX with the Fluffy head, run time will be approximately 7 minutes.

Summary: A great overall vacuum, just know its use cases first. Well worth the money. Unboxing / first impressions: The device has a very descriptive box. Upon opening you will find the vacuum, charging cable, a charging dock (if you choose to use it), a bunch of vacuum heads, and the typical documentation. First impression of the device is quality. It feels very well built and has great color paint all over. The phone does not feel cheap even though there is a lot of plastic. I charged it first after unpacking then went to trying it out. Use: I first tried out the hardwood floor brush. It is hard to say a lot other than it works great! The roller pivots nicely around corners and the device does a wonderful job picking up the kid’s crumbs on the floor. I tried a few other attachments, with the small nozzle and max vacuum power, spider webs didn’t stand a chance! There is an assortment of smaller nozzles for furniture and curtains, they seem to do pretty well but to me I just use what looks like it makes sense for that situation. There is also a small motorized roller that I intent to use for the car. This brings me to my next point. In addition to being a great hardwood floor vacuum and wonderful for nooks and crannies, it is also perfect for use as car vacuum! It has enough power to suck out all the hard to reach items, it has a nozzle for every use case and it is simply versatile! Know in advance, this is not a vacuum that is best used for carpets. I highly suggest a different vacuum or that use case. As long as you know that this is no issue. If you are expecting a vacuum for every type of floor, you will be disappointed. Battery: Charging is supposed to take about three hours I believe. If you place it on high power, you get less than 10 minutes or so of vacuum time based on what attachment you are using. If you place it on low suction, you will get 15-30 minutes depending on the attachment. I didn’t find this to be too bad but just know the times based on the settings so you don't loose battery in the middle of vacuuming. Dislikes: I did not have many issues I could find. If I have one complaint, I would like to have a “lock” to leave the device on when in use. It uses a trigger in the handle to turn on the vacuum, this is comfortable for most use cases, but when vacuuming the floor, it can be a little weird. A switch might have made more sense than a trigger. The trigger makes the most sense when using it as a dust buster. Also, make sure to read the instructions as the brush heads need routing monthly maintenance as does the filter. It is easy but if you never do it you might lose effectiveness of the product over time.

Dyson - V7 Fluffy Cord-Free Stick Vacuum - Iron/Blue. I have used cordless vacuums in the past and they were so much easier to use then dragging a cord around. But somewhere along the way Dyson must have thought 30 minutes of battery life would be enough. Well I am not getting anything like 30 minutes. I have not actually timed it but it could be as much as half that much time. It does seem like the battery maybe getting better with use and I sure hope so because after four full charges and discharges it’s still a big disappointment. Also, when the battery is used up the vacuum just stops without any warning. Just bam your done even if you not and the vacuum just shuts off. So, take off the next three hours so you can go again. The vacuum itself has plenty of suction so the power is here. It comes with a large selection of attachments and can be walled mounted. Just be sure you mount it close to an electrical outlet because you are going to need it. This is my second Dyson product and I was impressed with the first one. But even though there is a lot of good stuff here the battery life just ruins it. I have a two-story house and it’s all wood downstairs and carpet upstairs. Don’t bother using this with carpet. It will go over my downstairs floor rug but tying to use this on carpet will certainly kill what little battery life you get. I cannot recommend a cordless vacuum that cannot get through one use on a wood floor of a small two-story home with no downstairs bedrooms. Let’s hope the battery life does get better otherwise Dyson needs to go back to the drawing board. One final comment. All of the weight is in the handle and although it is comfortable it does tire the hand. But with such a short run time maybe that won’t be a problem for most.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review. The Dyson V7 Fluffy comes equipped with our soft roller head, which was a tool designed to be used on bare floors. This tool is not designed to be used on carpeting, which could be a reason why you are finding the machine difficult to use. The Dyson V7 Fluffy also has a run-time enhancing trigger. Hello Arta, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've been disappointed with your Dyson V7 Fluffy, and have found the quality of this machine to be so poor. I’m happy to inform you that Dyson cord-free machines are made from polycarbonate ABS - the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to hours of testing, including drop and impact tests. Dyson machines are built to withstand years of residential household use. We have hardwood floors that I was anxious about trying this stick vac out on. At first, I was thinking it was working very well; it was gliding very smoothly across the floor. Then, came the challenge... We have hamsters, with their cages and bedding. It seems there is always a few pieces of bedding on the floor from the kids taking the hamsters out. For those who don't know, hamster bedding is basically tiny pieces of torn up paper towels. The vacuum didn't pick up the bedding with one swipe. I had to run over the bedding a couple times in order for it to get sucked up. Then I noticed that if I happened to run over the bedding vacuuming backwards (towards me), it wouldn't pick up the bedding. If I vacuumed forwards (away from me), it would pick it up. I also found this to be true with tiny bits of food around the table. I'm not sure if this is because of the vacuum or the soft roller, or both. Whatever the reason, it makes vacuuming a little less efficient, which in turn will provide you with less area to vacuum before the battery runs out. All the other tools worked well for picking up debris. I really liked the motorized tools for vacuuming my car interior. Very convenient. It's also very easy to clean out the container. Overall, it's a fairly good stick vac. Not the best I've used before, but also not the worst.

There are several things I like about this Dyson hard wood floor cleaner. The first is that it is a Dyson and has superior suction power. The design is powerful and also very sleek and modern looking. The second great thing about this vacuum is that it is much quieter than any vacuum I've used. Even compared to other stick vacuums it is much quieter. Again, part of the great Dyson design. The third thing I like about this vacuum is that it actually pulls the dust off the floor. Pure vacuums only use suction, but that is not enough to dislodge all of the dust. The "fluffy" cleanerhead on this vacuum spins quickly and dislodges the dust. The strong suction pulls the dust into the tube. The other design function I like is how easy it is to operate. Pull the trigger to turn it on. And steer it by turning the handle left and right as you push and pull. The only negative I can think of is the storage and charging of the unit. Normally I would hide the vacuum in the closet but because there are no outlets in my closets I needed to find alternative storage. Overall, a very solid built, well designed, high quality stick vacuum for hardwood floors.

Package came nicely packed- appears no extra packing material so easy to recycle. Vacuum looks great- nice color and wall hook looks compact. The attachments are probably all you would ever need and the vacuum itself is light. I plugged in the charging cord and it was fully charged in 2 hours. So, I vacuumed. Cobwebs, plant dirt (darn cats), cat fur, and anything else I could find. Worked pretty good...for abut 28 minutes. Oh, does edges nicely! BIG issue I had was the exhaust. So, I take the attachments off and do my wooden stairs going from top to bottom and the exhaust was blowing on the stair above-dust, dirt, and cat hair everywhere. New rule- start at the top. I put the thin attachment on and get underneath things, behind things...and same issue- the exhaust was blowing stuff everywhere. New rule- just use the long extension. On my floors (non carpet) it works great, again for a 28-30 minute time. I have a 3 story house- this is not a vacuum meant for regular cleaning. I may have to assign it to a room and use it for spot cleaning. The price for this is outrageous for what I can use it for. If I was back in my 500 sq ft apartment it would be perfect! I just don't think it is practical for the cost. My opinion. The exhaust and the price brought it down one star for me.

I have never owned a Dyson vacuum before but they have always interested me. I would say my favorite feature of it is the portability. Being that it is battery operated you do not have to worry about dealing with a tangled chord. The second best thing is mobility. It is extremely light which makes it easier to vacuum in hard to reach places or places that you could not normally get a vacuum. I also love this vacuum because it breaks down into a small handheld vacuum that I can even use in my car. The battery life is its only downfall but it has plenty of battery life that should last to clean whatever you need and then you can charge it for the next use. It comes with a convenient docking station which you can mount to the wall and it will not only hold the extra brushes, but it also hold the vacuum and can be used to charge it. Overall this is a high quality and well built product I would recommend to everyone. It also comes with a bunch of different attachments and even more are sold separately which makes it the right vacuum for any job.

In the box, the dyson vacuum, charging port with two attachment spaces, charge cord and additional attachments for different types of cleaning, to include a carpet, extender, angled hose, etc. The best part about this vacuum to me is the portability, the hardwood floor attachment, and the suction. I love being able to actually hold this vacuum in my small hands and carry it around the house or outdoors in my car. The way that the trigger power button is set, I am able to naturally vacuum with my index finger. The hardwood floor attachment is one of my favorites because it picks up the dust and small particles. I no longer have to walk around with a dust mop or broom and dust pan. I can finally see with my own two eyes, how incredible the suction is with a Dyson! I have been having a lot of rain in my area, which of course means mud in my car, I used the Dyson and vacuumed the floor mats and the carpet interior carpet and I almost filled the dirt catcher to the max. It was pulling dirt from deep down in the carpet and it also help bring back the new car smell. The cons for me are battery life, no place for the additional attachments and the comfort of the vacuum. The battery life is the main reason for my average overall rating. I highly recommend if you are using this for quick cleaning, then this is the vacuum for you! If you are looking for something to clean the whole house with one machine, then opt for the machine with the cord. I currently have my Dyson in a temporary place where I have all of the attachments where I can see them but once I hang the vacuum on the wall as intended, I will have to figure out something for the additional attachments so that they don't get lost or broken. After vacuuming for 15-20 minutes my hand did start to hurt a little from holding the vacuuming, but it did also depending on what attachment I was using, in this particular case it was the carpet cleaning one while in the car. So just beware that after a certain amount of use, your hand may hurt a little. Overall I do love this vacuum. It will definitely be used for my car and when I clean up my hardwood floors and simple messes. I will definitely recommend to friends and family that have hardwood floors or are looking for a specific vacuum for their vehicle.

The Dyson V7 cordless vacuum cleaner has a run-time enhancing trigger, so battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. All of our cordless units do come switched on to MAX mode out of the box, otherwise, when not set to MAX mode, a full charge gives 30 minutes of fade free power or 20 minutes when using the motorized floor tool. When using your machine in MAX, run time will be approximately 7 minutes.

We'd value the opportunity to assist you, to make sure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected]. We're keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience.
