First of all, I love this vacuum!! It has plenty of suction and battery life for what I use it for - hardwood floors and low pile carpets. I've read complaints about how some people hate the trigger button, but I love it, and I suffer from muscular skeletal/repetitive stress in my hands. The trick to the trigger is not to squeeze it hard, you only need to gently squeeze it - it only takes a very light touch. I think my only complaint might be that it can get a little heavy after awhile and because of the way I hold it, the handle tends to dig into the skin between my thumb and index finger, but I have small hands and when they start to ache, I probably let the vacuum slip a bit which puts added strain on my hand. It has great suction - a little too much for some throw rugs and I have to strategically vacuum those. I love that I don't have to get my hands dirty with 'helping' the dirt out of the canister - great improvement from the V6. I wish I could carry the crevice and dusting tool on the vacuum, but I suppose it helps to keep the weight down by not lugging around attachments. The price tag is a bit steep, but I think it's worth it and would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a powerful vacuum without the added expense of purchasing bags.

Very easy to use. It comes with so many different kinds of vacuum heads that fit into any environment. It is super easy one step to throw away the anything that inside of vacuum container. The weight of the vacuum is so light. It is easily maneuvered. It doesn't take much room for the storage. In terms of charging the battery, it does take some time to charge. However, overall it has good suction!!! so clean after I run the vacuum.

Finally no longer tethered by an aggravating and always leg/foot Boa constrictor cord!! The V-8 does have good pick up on my rugs. Battery time is ok if you work in 40 minute time cleaning strategies to complete the tasks needed for your home. A second charged battery backup would expedite cleaning itinerary. Light weight is a welcome and terrific treat!! Personally I would like to have seen another small grip handle attached away from the trigger assembly, so I could use both hands to guide and support the path and height while cleaning with the vacuum. Arthritis in hands/wrists is problematic but the V8 has made things easier.

As many reviews have said, the V8 is a true corded vacuum replacement. It is worth it for the convenience. Likewise for the quietness. While it is light, for some applications it is a two-handed job. But that doesn't detract from the portability. The battery is also great. Dysons are pricey, and the vacuum is not perfect (trigger guard, Dyson?) - but all in, we think it has been worth it.

I hate dragging out a heavy vacuum, long hose and accessories every time I need to quickly clean up a spot. Therefore I vacuumed less than I actually needed to. Cleanliness of the house suffered. I saw this Dyson V8 Absolute advertised on TV and thought that it looked like it would help me quickly and easily keep the house a lot cleaner. It is lightweight, has very good suction when not even on the max setting and is very easy to use. The accessories were designed very well and are very useful. The trigger is outstandingly easy to pull, not hard as reported in other reviews. I can quickly spot clean or vacuum the whole house in record time. It helps to be able to see what dirt it accumulates in the clear canister. I clean a little each day and don't feel obligated to do a whole-house vacuuming. This Dyson V8 Absolute has certainly made my vacuuming a whole lot more pleasant and less tiring. Yes, the cost is high for a small vacuum but to me it is worth every penny for the improvement it has made in my work.

I love my new stick vacuum and the suction is awesome. It’s hard to believe how much better this model is compared to the older one. There was always fine dust left behind on my wood floors but not with the new one. It’s lightweight, the suction is remarkable, comes with great attachments and it glides across the floors. Very easy to use. Thanks Dyson!!

It’s the best vacuum I ever used. It’s quite, light, and powerful. It is expensive, but I think it worths every penny. Highly recommended.

Finally a cordless, lightweight, powerful vacuum. A little pricy but all Dyson products are. Powerful suction. The only thing is, i just wish you can use the maximum power for a longer period of time instead of just maybe 15 mins. of use before charging it again. But overall I think it's a good product because it can really suck up dust particles as well.

This is my first cordless vacuum, but I used my old vacuum over the bedroom before using the dyson, and the dyson picked up tons of dirt my old vacuum has been missing. Biggest concern was that it only lasts 40 minutes on a charge. It is plenty of time to vacuum an 1800sqft house with carpet, hardwood, and stairs; and still have juice left over. The biggest drawback is the price. The only reason I purchased this was because it was on sale. Overall: I’d say this is a great vacuum. Definitely has replaced our corded one.

I wish I would have bought this years ago. I have a german Shepherd that I could knit a quilt the hair that comes off of this dog. Its a paid hulling my previous vacuum up the stairs. Not anymore because this baby is so light its wonderful. It is literally fun to vacuum with this. I can get it done so fast. If you are worried about power dont. This thing has so much suction I cant even use it on max because it sticks to hard to the carpet lol. This might feel a little expensive, but trust me its worth every penny.

I was was not sure how well a cordless vacuum would work. I watched many many videos over and over again. This was an expensive item so that added to my hesitation. Then my current vacuum decided to act up. I guess this was a sign to make the purchase. I did make the purchase and I am very happy ( not about the price though). It works just like advertised. I was amazed at how much dirt I was leaving behind. I have hard wood floors and an area rug. It got the dog hair up nicely.. Next I will try it in the car.

I read many reviews before buying the Dyson V8, it looked promising, and so I purchased it. I have used it many times, and it has pleased me from the start. The running time from the battery is very good, I like the clear debris holder, so it's easy to see when it needs emptying, and it empties easily. Cleaning the filters is also easy. I do have two complaints though - it is expensive, and I wish the battery were removable, so I could have a fully charged one in reserve. However, I am glad to have purchased it, and the vacuum with the many attachments is very useful, and is much easier to use in various areas of the house and car than a conventional vacuum.

I researched the Dyson Absolute V8 throughly before making my purchase. Am delighted with this vacuum. Light weight, holds a charge remarkably (still have battery half charged after vacuuming my home, over 3,000 sq. ft.) Suction is great, so easy to use. In other words, I absolutely love my Dyson Cordless Absolute V8 Vacuum Cleaner.

Recommended by my son. Performs well. Easy to use and light weight. We have a cat and does a great job with cat hair.

I was tired of lugging around my corded upright upstairs, downstairs, basement etc. I am all about cordless devices that make my life easier, and this Dyson does just that! I never use the high section setting that drains the battery in about 7 minutes, so I cannot speak of its battery runtime - I’ve never had to use it. In the normal setting the battery lasts just under 40 minutes with the motorized tools. I can vacuum my entire 2603 square foot home that consists of hardwoods and carpet on a full charge. This also includes vacuuming my couches, and stairs. Emptying the dirt is easy, too. Now the negative point I would like to bring up doesn’t involve its performance, but it’s build quality. I’m a sucker for really nicely designed products that feel of quality. This product as a whole doesn’t feel cheap exactly, it is where the pole connects to the vacuum. The pole wobbles at its connector. This lends a bit of a cheap feel to the Dyson. I understand they have to watch the materials they are using so the vacuum stays light. But all-in-all it is nice. I recommend.

I love this vacuum! It has just enough battery life to clean all my floors in my entire apartment on Max suction (large living room, kitchen, my bedroom, bathroom, and hallway with entry). I have all hardwood floors. It does have a little juice left over after my floors to do a quick clean on my couch, but if I want to do the entire couch I have to charge it a little more. If you have carpet and want to vacuum on Max I would advise leveling up. When I tried the difference in the stores I didn't notice any difference in suction, but the battery life is the difference. I love all the attachments. I totally love this thing and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone considering it! Also, I love the fact that it picks up more that what you see! My roommates and I are very clean people, so the floors only have little things on them every week, but every time I always get a full canister of dirt. It's amazing!

I couldn't be happier with my Dyson's performance. I have long hair, and this model has no trouble getting it off of the carpet. Yet it's fairly easy to grab my scissors and get the strands that stuck to the rotating brush off after I'm done. (My previous vacuum kind of wadded my hair, so I would follow behind and grab the clumps myself. Then I just had to let what was tangled remain on the brush forever more, so this new process is a revelation for me.) It is very lightweight and easy to maneuver, and since I live in an apartment I haven't needed to use it for longer than the charge lasts. Aside from the product itself, I ordered online with the option to pick up at my local store, and this process was quick and convenient. I could see it was in stock near to me when I placed the order, and later that day I got the e-mail informing me my vacuum was ready to be picked up. It was easy to swing into the store while out running a couple errands and collect my item from customer service. Since I'd already paid, I just had to prove I was the purchaser and sign that I'd collected the box. It took no more than 5 minutes.

I got the new Dyson as a replacement for my five year old model. It was getting difficult to use the trigger on that one but other than that it was good and I gave it to my daughter. The new one is even better. It pulls up everything from my carpets and area rugs and the special hard wood attachment gets dust much better than the old one did. Much easier to clean as well. Spendy yes. Still I believe it will be the last one I’ll ever need as it’s just that good.

This is a wonderful device to have at home. Light, efficient and extremely useful. I love the wireless fester, it means that it can go with me anywhere. The power suction is great. The device is easy to clean and I'm always amazed at the amount of hair and dust it pulls from my floor!!!

Very happy with this vacuum. Quick swap of heads and accessories makes this our go to vacuum for our home. Obviously won’t last battery-wise to vacuum a 4000 sq ft house in one go, but that’s not what it’s designed for. Perfect for grab and go and does a great job on both hardwood and carpet. And converting to car vacuum takes a few seconds which we love. Hanging storage/charger is solid and quick in and out as well. Love it!!!
