The Wash G1 by Dyson is a game changer!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson WashG1™ wet cleaner is engineered to wash hard floors effectively using just clean water. It’s turned an endless cycle of sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping into a quick, effective process that leaves my floors spotless. Yes, it’s pricey, but the time, energy, and money saved on cleaning supplies make it worth every penny. For anyone with pets, kids, or a high-traffic home, I can’t recommend this little machine enough. Here’s whats inportant to know: 1. It’s got mpressive Cleaning Power: The Dyson WashG1 doesn’t just clean—it deep cleans. REALLY deep cleans. Even after running my Roomba vacuum and mop, the WashG1 collected a shocking amount of grime, pet hair, and dirt from my hardwood floors during its first pass. This is an all-in-one solution that combines vacuuming and mopping in a single step, saving both time and effort on a seemingly endless chore. 2. Time Efficiency: With our busy home, cleaning floors used to be a half-day task with the vacuum and mop robots. There was the prep of sweeping, moving cords and shifting chairs, picking up toys, and cleaning spills before the robots could begin vacuuming, and mopping. Now, the Dyson WashG1 handles everything in just 20 minutes, leaving my floors spotless on the first and only pass. There’s no need to prep the floors or touch up after cleaning—it’s a real one-and-done solution. 3. Cost Savings: No more buying disposable wet pads, cleaning sprays, and paper towels to deal with leftover messes. The Dyson WashG1 uses only clean water, cutting out the need for all these extra cleaning supplies. It’s a significant upfront investment, but it quickly pays for itself in terms of reduced expenses and less manual labor. 4. Self-Cleaning Feature: The self-cleaning mode is a standout. After each use, and once it is docked, it flushes the rollers and system, preparing the machine for its next run. Dyson recommends occasionally removing and cleaning the rollers with a gentle detergent to prevent bacterial buildup, which has kept my machine odor-free. I’ve had no issues with odors, even after repeated use. Addressing Potential Drawbacks: While my experience has been just wonderfully positive, here are some common issues I’ve read about, along with solutions I’ve found helpful: 1. Hair Tangling in Brushes and Rollers: With pets that shed, occasional hair tangles in the rollers and brushes are inevitable. Regular maintenance—removing the rollers and clearing out hair—takes just a few minutes and ensures the machine operates at peak performance. Dyson’s design makes this process straightforward. 2. Ofor from wet Rollers: Some users report roller issues, likely caused by bacteria buildup when using only water. To avoid this, I follow the Dyson recommendation to wash the rollers with a gentle detergent. This simple step has kept my rollers fresh and free from odor. 3. Water Leaking Under the Charging Dock: While I haven’t personally experienced this, I’ve seen reviews mentioning water leakage after the self-cleaning cycle. Dyson recommends emptying the dirty collection tray before docking it. This seems to work for us. Following these guidelines should help prevent leaks. Final Thoughts: The Dyson WashG1 has truly revolutionized how I clean my home. It’s efficient, effective, and surprisingly easy to maintain, even in a household with pets, kids, and plenty of foot traffic. While some minor maintenance is required—like clearing hair from the brushes or occasionally hand-cleaning the rollers—it’s a small price to pay for the convenience and quality of cleaning it delivers. If you’re on the fence due to the price, consider the time and money saved on cleaning supplies and effort. For me, the Dyson WashG1 has been a game-changer, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who wants spotless floors with minimal hassle.

Smooth move and good results
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Dyson mop. I noticed it’s not doing so well on marbel tiles. It kinds sleeps off. But thankfully my floor is LVP. So i loke it. The other thing you have to be careful when self cleaning make sure the red tray is been cleaned before and installed properly or you’ll have water all over the floor. I used the cleaning solution from my Tineco mop and it works great. Don’t use other stuff or you’ll get foam all over your floor. Happy cleaning

It works better than expected!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were in the market for an electric mop and found this Dyson WashG1 in the store. My wife and I decided to purchase and give it a shot. We were very pleased on how well it cleaned up our floor with just ordinary water! Using a wet swiffer was just too messy and we were tired of purchasing new pads with the liquid solution. This was definitely worth the purchase for us!

Best floor machine
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing floor cleaner!!! I’ve had multiple other floor cleaners that are like this from other manufacturers and this one blows all others out of the water. Absolutely amazing. Used my other four cleaners that will not be named on the floor multiple times. If we’re testing us out in the water. It pulled out is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe How much my other floor cleaner was missing.

Great machine but make sure to deep clean often!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome device for cleaning hard surface floors as long as you are diligent on the cleaning the machine. The self cleaning mode is only good for cleaning up the rollers between cleans but when you are done for the day remove the rollers and brushes, wash with warm water and let air dry. Check the Dyson instructions for “Deep clean”. If you don’t do the deep cleaning and let you mop head sit wet in the cradle the rollers get smelly very quick and then you are spreading that all over the floor. Yuck

Much better cleaning job than the robot vacuums
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson washG1 is an interesting machine to consider if you have a decent amount of hard floors to clean. Our home has quite a bit of ceramic tile floors so anything that provides an easy-to-use method for floor cleaning is something that catches our attention. The washG1 adds an interesting design in that it picks up dry dirt and wet cleans the floor simultaneously. It is pretty intuitive to put the various parts together out of the box, but I really do wish they’d include a printed Quick Start guide to assist in these steps. Prior to use we went on online and found the user guide to confirm step by step instructions for use. It was noted that prior to first use you should allow the machine five minutes to hydrate the rollers. We used water from our reverse osmosis system to fill the clean water tank and once the rollers were given time to hydrate, we proceeded to clean the floor on the third, highest level of hydration. I felt the online information was a bit conflicting as to whether cleaning solutions are recommended for use in this cleaner. It seems like they mention mild cleaners are fine (nothing sudsy), but a question about this was answered by Dyson to recommend not using cleaners. As we used the washG1 we could see the remaining time displayed on the lcd screen. The cleaner glides across the floor quite easily and can be given a little more speed by applying pressure to push the unit along a bit faster. I noticed the washG1 tended to veer just slightly to the right, but not in a significant way. I was a bit concerned that the 35 minute charge duration wasn’t going to be sufficient to clean all our floors, but I actually ended up having some time to spare. I would say the biggest benefit to this cleaner compared to some of the robot floor vacuums is that dirty water is picked up and retained in its own tank. Often the robot cleaners may have water to “mop” the floor, but it is akin to wiping the floor with a sponge since no dirty water is recovered. As noted in the pictures, I was rather surprised just how dirty the water looked in the dirty water tank. Maybe this confirms we did need a cleaner with a better method for cleaning. Once floors are complete the lcd screen will display the steps for running the machine through a self-cleaning process. In a nutshell, empty the dirty water tank, fill the clean water tank and slide out the debris tray to empty dirt, and rinse and clean the tray. When ready, push the button to proceed with the self-clean process and the machine will flush itself with the clean water and collect the dirty water in the other tank. I would say it takes a bit of effort to do these routine cleaning steps, but it goes quickly and all of the parts are designed for easy disassembly and cleaning. The tray takes a little getting used to in terms of grasping it and simply pulling it straight out to remove. There is no release button for it, but it can feel a little snug, so a bit of a tug is needed to get it to slide out. Do note that the machine takes about 4 ½ hours to charge fully, but an additional click in battery can be purchased for more run time. Dyson notes that the wash rollers are good for about 25 hours of use and the machine will alert one when they need to be replaced. Their website shows two rollers cost $59.99 and two sets of the microfiber rollers offer a bit of a savings for $95.99. Given that the Dyson washG1 is not cheap at $699.99 it’s worth noting that the cost of use is something to consider since the replacement rollers aren’t exactly cheap. I do feel that the Dyson washG1 offers something appealing and useful in terms of its design and functionality. It is providing a convenient, efficient method for cleaning floors in a very quick fashion without the mess of the traditional mop and bucket. I do think we will find it useful for the majority of our floor cleaning, but we will intermittently do a traditional mopping to get baseboards clean and to reach tight places that are narrower than the washG1 cleaning head. Given the investment to purchase this cleaner I hope it lives up to the traditional Dyson level of quality. The color and design of the washG1 is nice and evokes the usual Dyson vibe. I would have liked to see a longer warranty period than two years given the cost and newness of this cleaner. It would be great if the microfiber rollers and other accessory items come down in price in the future to bring down costs for consumers. For these reasons and the lack of a Quick Start guide, I’d rate it one star lower than a perfect five. I definitely recommend the Dyson washG1 if you have plenty of hard floors to clean and it fits within your price range.

It's a Messy Clean
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house has tile floors throughout. I use a Dyson Outsize vacuum to clean up debris nearly every day. But at least a couple of times a month, I have get on my hands and knees and use water and vinegar to thoroughly clean the floors. It's time-consuming and tiring, so I was hoping that the new Dyson Wash G1 would make cleaning my floors an easy process. It does for the most part, but it has some big drawbacks and requires a lot of maintenance after each use. === PROS === - Like most Dyson products, the Wash G1 is incredibly easy to set up and unbox. Everything clicks into place very neatly. The charging dock has a minimalist design so you can easily store the Wash G1 in any room or closet. - The Wash G1 is reasonably light and easy to maneuver around hard floors. If you've used a modern Dyson cordless vacuum, you know what to expect -- it seems to be about the same weight as my Dyson Outsize and glides along the floor just as easily. - With its dual roller brushes, the machine seems to do an excellent job of removing dirt and debris from floors. I first tested it on my kitchen floors which I had just vacuumed and looked very clean to the naked eye. I was amazed to see the black, dirty water that had accumulated in the bottom tank of the Wash G1 after just a couple of minutes. The next day, I used the Wash G1 to clean up some cereal and oatmeal that had spilled on the floor. It easily picked up everything off the floor, but it caused quite a mess in the rollers and debris tray (more on that in the Cons section below). - There are three different "hydration" settings that determine how much water will be used to clean your floor. There's also a "Max" hydration setting designed to remove dried-on stains. I learned that it's best to leave the hydration set to 1 for basic floor cleaning. Anything higher should be reserved for picking up debris or removing stains. - Battery life is very good. The initial charge out of the box took a couple of hours to reach 100%. But I have been able to use the Wash G1 for about 30 minutes straight on a single charge. I think that will suffice for most households. - It's relatively easy to clean the machine, but it has to be done very often (more on that below). The roller brushes slide out quite easily by pressing the red release button. The brushes can be rinsed off in your sink with warm water. The machine also has a self-cleaning feature that you should run after each use while it's on the charging dock. === CONS === - The machine does not do a good job at cleaning grout between tiles. Even after multiple passes, areas of grout in my kitchen remain visibly dirty. - The Wash G1 seems to use water very quickly. I find myself having to empty and refill the water tanks after just a few minutes of use. - The water tanks are awkward to detach and refill. When screwing the lids back on, you have to line them up perfectly so that the nozzles face forward. It's not a deal-breaker, but it adds another step between tank refills. - As I noted above, the machine does not like certain types of debris like wet oatmeal. The oatmeal got stuck all over both brushes and on all sides of the debris tray. It took at least 10 minutes for me to clean up the mess. Dry debris like bread crumbs or coffee grounds don't seem to cause such a mess and go straight into the debris tray without getting stuck in the rollers. - I learned that it's a good idea to empty the debris tray every time the water tank runs empty -- even if you don't think you picked up any significant amounts of debris. Dust and other fine particles end up in the tray, and if you don't empty it regularly, water tends to foam up around the tray and brushes. The foam then ends up all over your floors. - The Wash G1 has a screen, but the information it provides isn't very useful. While cleaning, tt only shows you how much run time/battery life is remaining and which hydration mode you've selected. My preference would have been for the screen to show an estimate of how much water is remaining in the tank, or if the debris tray is full and needs to be emptied. Hopefully that will come in a future model. === OVERALL === I was hoping that the Dyson Wash G1 would be an easy and hassle-free way to clean my tile floors. In some regards, it is. But maybe my expectations were a bit too high. I suppose any wet floor cleaner will be a bit messy and require more maintenance than a traditional cordless vacuum. But the Wash G1 seems like it requires an excessive amount of attention to keep it running smoothly. And if you try cleaning up the wrong type of debris on your floor (or if you forget to empty the debris tray), then you could end up with quite the mess. However, its cleaning performance is generally excellent, and I am amazed every time I use it at the amount of black water in the used water tank. The machine is probably best suited for small bursts of use, like quickly cleaning up a single room or a small mess on the floor. For longer cleaning sessions, you might want to look at other machines.

Want a clean floor this is the cleaner for you
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off i wanted to try this machiene and give it a good runthrough and make sure i was giving an honest and fair review. As you know if it has the name dyson on it well it's not cheap and i dont like spending money on something if it's not going to do the job i bought the item for. I used it for a few days cleaning both my hardwood floor and my lanoliam flooring. I mope my floors at least ones a week so in my mind my floors were spotless and i could eat off them if i wanted. Well after using this machine i would have had second thoughts about eating off my floor. I was actually shocked how much nastiness came up off my floors like exactly just how much grime i was just swiriling around on my floors with a mop. As you can see in the pictures just the amount of grossness that water is. And to be honest i did not have any floor cleaner mixed in with the clean water it was a drip of dish soap just to have something in with the water for cleaning. But i did get some actuall clenaer and re did the floors and was amazed how much more dirt came up. The floor cleaner is a godsend. I love it. It's simple to put together out of the blox. You litterally click a few things together to make it on part. Make sure you charge the batter once you get it before your first use. Also on the battery it last for quite awhile and it has a little display on the handle that shows the charge remainig as you use it. While cleaning i was using the max setting. You press the button on the handle and it puts down more water as you use the floor cleaner. I was having to refill the water every id say about 10 minutes using the max setting. On normal it would go quite a bit longer before having to refill it. All in all if you have the extra money this machiene gets the job done and it does an amazing job. I could not be happier with it.

Its a Dyson
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying the WashG1 is like every Dyson. It has an exceptional feel to it, everything just fits into place perfectly and its amazingly simple to set up and use. The G1 looks/feels and is a premium product through and through. The Good • The G1 is ridiculously light and easy to maneuver. Once you hit the start button the G1 has a little forward pull action so you’re not really pushing it, it’s more as if you’re guiding it to where you want it to go. • The WashG1 does a excellent job with edge cleaning, the rollers go all the way to the end and the shape makes it so you are cleaning all the way to the end. • Removing and cleaning the water tanks is easy, it’s a simple click of a button and unscrew of the cap. The caps are reversible as is the base they snap into so you cannot mess it up. • The tray at the bottom removes easily so you can remove the trash that was picked up. • The soft rollers do an excellent job cleaning, it even cleaned some left-over glue from a sticker that was on the ground in two passes. • The self-cleaning is FAST and not excessively loud. I love the fact that there is not an extra tank for cleaning solution which needs to be cleaned refilled. • The App for the Dyson is great, it tells you everything you need to know about you machine at the tip or your fingers. The app has support videos/documents and updates warranty information. • The WashG1 separates the dirty water waste from the dry waste. Even though the dry waste is wet, it is easy to dispose of. The Bad • The dirty water tank cap does not screw on correctly all the time. Good thing is you will know its not correct because when you go to clip it into the tank compartment it won’t click. • When drying the water tanks, the screw cap for the clean water must be dried outside as there is water inside the filter and the only way to remove it is for it to evaporate or for you to rigorously shake it out. • The self-cleaning function doesn’t dry the rollers, there still a tad moist. The WashG1 is a great Wetvac that not only cleans hardwood floors but vacuums them at the same time. The maneuverability is next amazing as it can reach all hard-to-get places with ease. The rollers do a good job with most stuck-on stains but won’t get everything, there are always stains that need some elbow grease.

The BEST Floor Cleaner ... With a Caveat!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS… Is the Dyson WashG1, and dysons first full fledged product in the Wet/Dry 'vacuum’ space, and the coolest part is that it uses ZERO suction in doing it. With 35 minutes of running time and a claimed up to 3000sq/ft coverage, lets take a look at dysons next $700 state of the art product! Something that shocked me when I was taking the G1 out of the box was, only dyson could make a mop looks so pretty! Dyson does a fantastic job on making the product feel premium, and while it does have a fair amount of plastic on the machine, I never felt like anything was cheaped out on or skimped on - dyson really sat down and made an almost no compromise product (it is $700 msrp after all). The stand for the G1 is… weird. Just like my previous machine, you have to put the G1 in back side first. Meaning, you have to pick it up and set it on its jack backwards from its running position, not the biggest deal, but the stand is just so… simple? While it does show dirt rather easy on the stand, it wipes off just as easy. Ok, so using the dyson G1 as a vacuum but it uses no suction…What does this mean for you? You can now mop and ‘vacuum’ your floors in a much quieter setting. With a peak of 71 decibels on the ‘max’ mode, but averaging around the 50-60 decibel mark when I wasn’t in ‘Max’ or the top water saturation setting, I can now clean and vacuum my floors without waking the house up. I have a Great Dane who is genuinely scared of anything loud, piercing, and well pretty much everything actually. Even she was unbothered by the WashG1, which was a genuine shock to me! So I am pretty confident that the WashG1 is going to be baby approved. The WashG1 has 4 settings or water ‘modes’ that control both the saturation of the floor and the speed of the rollers attached to the bottom. The settings are pretty simple from least to most saturation - One drop, two drop, three drop and a separate button for ‘MAX’ for those dried on dirt and muck stains… but I usually rock at the two or three water drop mode. I have three LARGE dogs that shed both fur, dirt and whatever gets trapped in my Great Pyrenees fur… that then gets deposited to my floor… so my initial worry was that the G1 was not going to either be able to handle all the dirt chunks or the large chunks of fluff that come off my dogs. That being said, the G1 has not only never slowed down, it has yet to meet a fluff, dirt or mystery mush that it couldn't handle in just a few passes. Before I move onto my gripes, I wanted to touch on a few quick things. First, you can absolutely use a floor cleaning solution with the G1, but it can’t be one that soaps up. I use the gallon jug of Bono hardwood cleaner and it works fantastic, as well as the swifter fluid (which I think smells better). The next thing is that realistically, unless you are using the lowest water setting and not doing double passes…the tank will probably last you 800-1500sqft depending on how heavy the water setting and how many passes you need to do. Still really good in my opinion, better than my last floor cleaner and I am sure there will be upgrades available to expand the tanks as they are externally mounted. Speaking of, the rollers on the bottom of the dyson are on an ‘hours’ of use basis, meaning that after so many hours dyson will prompt you to replace them (and new rollers cost about $60, however I cannot find any dyson branded replacements). My last thing is that I really feel like dyson missed the opportunity to attach the laser that they put on their hardwood vacuum attachments, I think it would be cool and help me keep track of my lines/dirt better… and this thing was $700 so I want some party tricks. Now here is my thing with Dyson, objectively, they make the best air and floor care products that I have ever tested, full stop. That being said, they by far have some of the worst warranty support I have also ever seen. It is not based in America, it isn’t based in Europe, and it is exclusively a foreign based call center. If you ever have an issue that needs escalated to a ‘manager’ level position, you have to wait for them to be ‘in office’ (whatever that means) and it is someone I was never able to talk to at a time I was never able to fine (and they can’t give you a time either) even after MONTHS of trying. I mean seriously, I sent in my vacuum for warranty work to dyson… which Dyson lost… and I had to wait 6 months for them to resolve my issue after they tried to blame me for them losing my vacuum. I also had to retell my story to every single agent as I was told I was going to be contacted or ‘followed up with’ several times and never was. Dyson has some of the worst quality control I have ever seen, which is especially shocking considering they also make… the best products? I am 3/9 on DOA dyson products, including my first G1 being DOA, so I wanted to put the PSA out to get another warranty and to make sure your product is working before the return window has expired as you might have difficulty having dyson repair your product. I recommend the Bestbuy Total membership, as that should give you all the help you need right at bestbuy. It really is a shame that dysons after sale care is in the dump, especially considering how good their products are… so I am happy to have found a workaround for dysons lackluster support. While I have said some really negative things about dyson, it is also what makes bestbuy pretty awesome as you can go in and make sure you are taken care of 24/7 with the total care membership. The WashG1 is genuinely a FANTASTIC machine, so I would hate for someone to miss out on it because of one thing or another. I love my WashG1 and even with the warranty hurdles, find that this is still worth the extra $$ and the extra effort. I would have probably given the WashG1 a two or three star rating due to dysons problems, but I genuinely LOVE the WashG1 so much that I am willing to overlook the issues to a 4 star rating given the caveats. Like I mentioned before, Best Buy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… or that doest work! So there is no harm in testing it out to see if the WashG1 is right for your house.

Quick and efficient hard floor wet cleaning
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our hard flooring is Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), and we mostly only clean it by vacuuming. However, if the color of the water coming out of the washG1 is any indication, we would do well to make wet cleaning part of our regular cleaning routine. To call the Dyson washG1 a motorized electric mop would simply be an understatement. While it serves this primary purpose by cleaning hard flooring with plain water, it does so in a way that feels elevated, eliminating many of the pain points of traditional mopping. This machine is ergonomic, making its 11 lbs feel lightweight as you wheel it around. The soft, microfiber roller brushes spin in opposing directions for a thorough clean with less back and forth handling while the brushes clean themselves without manual squeezing and rinsing of soiled water from a mass of soggy ropes. The rollers are color-coded red and blue, so you won’t mix up their orientation when installing them. There’s also a removable debris tray between them for catching and separating solid debris like dust and hair, but make no mistake; this is not a 2-in-1 vacuum/mop combo machine. It doesn’t provide significant air suction nor a large solid debris bin, so I recommend vacuuming first as this will reduce the amount of large bits collected in the tray’s mesh drainage slots, which could get clogged. The device has two water tanks: one for clean fill water on top and the bottom one is for spent, dirty water. Both have a capacity of around 4 cups. All removable parts of the machine detach using clearly marked, press/squeeze tabs that release easily and snap back into place when installing. The bracket for the water tanks is even reversible, so it doesn’t matter to which side you attach the tanks, which I thought was clever. I do feel the tanks detach a bit too readily from the bracket, as a couple times I inadvertently touched a tab and the tank released from the bracket before I could replace it on the machine. The unit comes with 1 removable battery, the floor cleaner, a 2-piece charging station, and an AC wall adapter. It assembles in minutes, though there isn’t a cable wrap on the charging station for excess wire, so I just have a pile of looped cable behind it. You can also charge the battery directly by plugging the AC adapter into it, which is useful if you purchase a spare/backup battery. A full charge lasts around 35 minutes of use regardless of hydration level used. Re-charging a completely depleted battery takes around 2 hours. When powering the machine on the first time, you’ll select the language for the display. You’re then prompted to download and install the MyDyson app via QR code. The app requires you to register the product to your account by entering its serial number found on the sticker in the battery compartment. In the app, you can watch how-to videos, access the user guide and tech support, or shop for new products and accessories, but it doesn’t offer any remote control functionality for the machine. The only other setting, hydration sensitivity, can be selected in the on-board menu LCD. The washG1 is simple to use, and there are four water levels to choose from while cleaning: low, medium, high, and max. To start the machine, you’ll need to tilt the handle back from the upright position by stepping on the back of the cleaning deck and pulling the handle towards you. Then select one of the lesser three water levels with the silver menu button before pressing the red power button to start cleaning. During use, the display shows you the current hydration level and counts down how much runtime you have left. I was able to clean my entire first floor in under 20 minutes with two water changes. The washG1 brightened up my flooring by picking up staining from dirt and dust, but had a tougher time polishing out the recessed grout lines between tiles in the kitchen, which remained stubbornly dark in some spots. Anytime during cleaning, you can press and hold the blue Max button to use more water. When you let go of the Max button, operation will return to normal. Max mode will consume a full tank of clean water within 2 minutes of continuous use, while high hydration mode takes about 11 minutes to empty a full tank. After use, simply place the unit in the dock and run the “self clean” cycle by pressing the Max button while it is charging. The roller brushes will rinse and scrub themselves clean; you’ll remove the tanks and debris tray to clean and dry them separately. Just note in the clean water tank, some water will remain trapped in its lid behind a non-removable micromesh screen; you won’t be able to drain it out, but it should evaporate if left out to dry. Despite our floors looking quite clean after vacuuming, the washG1 showed us that dirt and debris had stained/darkened our flooring so subtly overtime that we’ve simply become accustomed to it. Within a few minutes of running it for the first time, the dirty water tank was filled with cloudy, dark gray liquid and the floors were noticeably a lighter shade. What I like about this unit is that I don’t need to use any harsh chemicals or solvents to pull up a good amount of dirt and stains, though a low suds detergent can be used if desired. It also doesn’t leave a wet trail of water behind; just a slight dampness that dries up after a few minutes. When the dirty water tank is full, the machine stops and displays a message along with an animation that shows you how to empty it. It’ll do something similar if the rollers get clogged or stop spinning. You can also stop the machine by simply returning the handle to the upright position or pressing the power button. The washer can lie down horizontally to get under chairs and tables with a clearance height of about 8 inches. It doesn’t have a tight turning radius though, and when the motor is off it doesn’t roll well, so you have to pick up its 11 lbs to move it. I like that the cleaning deck has edge cleaning on the right-hand side and is slim enough to fit under my bottom cabinets up to the toe-kick, but take care around low clearance appliances and furniture because any sort of pressure on top of the deck can compress the rollers and stop them from spinning. The other thing to watch out for is floor transitions with grooves in them which can inadvertently collect water from the brushes as they spin over them. Overall, the washG1 is a breeze to use. Just fill up the clean water tank and pass the machine slowly over your hard floors or target area. It’ll pick up dry, wet, and soluble sticky messes without scratching your flooring, though tough stains or build up may take more than 1 pass. It can cover over 3000 sq ft of flooring on a single charge. The rollers are rated to last for 6 months or 25 hours of use before they should be replaced and usage is tracked on the LCD. They are also removable and hand washable as there is no built-in drying mechanism, so I would remove them and allow them to dry fully with good air flow between uses to avoid mold, mildew, and odors.

Dyson WashG1 Is A Beast
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is a beast! Over the years I have had the opportunity to use Dyson products and I have yet to be dissapointed. This Dyson WashG1 is no different. In typical Dyson fashion, they are on the premium end in price but also qualty. This WasshG1 most certainly has a high quality feel and build. Setup was simple and use is intuitive. inside, you have the cleaner, it's handle, the base and the charging cradle thagt attaches to the base. From unboxing to use was maybe seven to ten minutes. We have a fairly large house with 2800 sq feet on the main level, half of wich is hardwood. We also have a 2800 square foot basement that is mostly all hardwood, and then the second level is another 1500 square feet with the hall and bathrooms are hardwood. This WashG1 hndled the main and second floors easily on a single charge. To get the basement, I did have to recharge it, but that is not a knock, it's honestly a great endorsement. As for the clean, have no fear. This unit lays a nice layer of water and has no problem sucking it back up. We also have a finicky dog who is quite selective about the kibbles he will and will not eat. This unit had no problems picking those up and depositing into the "dry" bin. Clean up up pretty simple... Remove the dry bin, empty, rinse replace. I will say that it is built to very tight tolerance and removing the tray the first time took some solid handling. Once that is done, empty to dirty tank, refill the clean tank and you can have it run the self clean mode that cleans the brushes and internalportions of the unit. End of the day, this is an exceptional hard surface floor cleaner. It comes with a premuim price, but it is also a premium unit. Great choice.

Wait for the G2/G3.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works and does the job, but half of the time spent using the unit is allocated to fixing, cleaning, or diagnosing the unit. Today I put it on the self clean cycle only to watch water shoot out the side and empty half of the tank on the floor. Pros: -It cleans LVP/Hardwood floors really well -Easy to use -95% of it is easy to clean and maintain (which is great b/c you will be doing a lot of that) -Lightweight Cons: -It leaks if you tilt it the wrong way -The charging dock power cord falls out fairly easy -Puddles form in the charging dock tray after self clean and emptying the clean/dirty water tanks -Used 6 times and clogged? water tank/lines 2 times (vaccumed first) -Cleans tile but can't reach the grout -Self clean cycle CAN leak enough water to damage baseboards

Overpriced
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely simplifies washing hard floors. Not perfect though, doesn’t get very close to baseboards. About an inch or two that it’s unable to clean. Also being that you’re using strictly clean water to wash the floor it doesn’t feel very hygienic. The locking mechanism to hold the vacuum upright is pretty flimsy, for the weight of the water bottles. I’ve had it fall over a few times. For the price point it’s not really worth it.

As good as your other Dyson. Fantastic.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its so much better than the Bissell Crosswave. Easy to use, easy to clean. Easy to fill the water. It separates the solids into a tray mounted in the cleaning head. It's self propelled, as it works like a Segway where you push the handle forward to increase the forward speed, or lean the handle back and it reverses. Super smooth, very intuitive. It meters out the water automatically per 1 of 3 setting. Its so nice. If you like other Dyson products, this is just as nice. Quiet too. Can use soap or no soap. 10/10.

Great performing hard floor electric mop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cleans floors very well and battery lasts for full single story house with remaining charge to spare. Comes apart easily and goes back together in a slew of simple clicks and twists. Adjustable moisture control is very useful and the unit glides across surfaces with little effort. Definitely recommend vacuuming floors first especially with pets since the solid waste portion of the catch tray might become overloaded. That makes this more of an electric mop with constantly washed rollers than a traditional suction based hard floor washer, but it is no less effective. I disagree comments that the flt and finish are substandard - it’s a great machine aside from the dock which is garbage. Happy to have this hard floor cleaner and look forward to years of use.

The G1 is great at cleaning floors But......
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dyson WashG1 The G1 comes well packaged, the Dyson WashG1 comes with a charging stand that also is used for its self cleaning. You download the MyDyson app from either Google play store for androids or apple store for IOS devices. You put the G1 together very easily and put it on the charger. You then add the G1 to the MyDyson app; that has the manual / instructions and videos demonstrating the use. You fill the water tank with water only. Very easy to remove the clean and dirty water tanks. You tap the power button twice to start the machine. You can choose 1, 2, 3 and MAX, then start cleaning the floors, when powered off the Dyson WashG1 is a little heavy but when using the washer to clean the floors, the G1 just glides over the floor, the G1 does not go over rugs at all. When done you empty the dirty water tank and fill the clean tank with water then put the G1 back on the base and press the clean button to clean the unit automatically. You can easily remove the rollers and the filter in between the rollers to clean them. Now the bad Manual says to change the rollers every 25 hours that's about 6 months at $60 for 1 set of rollers or $95 for 2 sets Then the front and back brush bars are $15 each. I believe this is a lot but would believe we should find less expensive options. I am on my second G1 as the first one broke after a week, the first one stopped sucking up water. When i called Dyson they asked me if I ran the clean cycle after every use and used the Dyson cleaning fluid that does not co.e with the G1 or is mentioned anywhere when I got it. Matter in fact when I got the the G1 their was no mention or availability of any cleaning fluid. I have to say Dyson swapped the unit very quickly and easily, all I had to do was bring the G1 to any UPS store with no box, within 4 days I had a brand new one. The very best and easiest warranty exchange by any company. Pros - Best warranty you can get from any company. - Floors are really clean, does a perfect job at cleaning floors. - Very easy to remove rollers and cleaning tray filter. - tanks are super easy to empty and fill. Negatives - rollers only last 6 months or 25 hours. - need to get cleaning solution that does not come with the unit. - Uses a lot of water when you put it in a clean cycle. - Does not do any kind of rug. I am torn between 2 or 3 stars, a 2.5 out of 5 for the G1 would be perfect in my opinion, I am giving it a 3 but know I meant it to be 2.5.
