This game used to be fun to play and entertained. Nowadays the AI is completely wacky, it feels more and more like you are playing NHL, the players seem to glide instead of run, the players check you take the ball away and the ref is like is not even there. Other players go through you like you are not even there. They need to seriously improve that. I remember having FIFA since 1998, and keep buying it until 2012 or 2013 then I stopped for about 4 years, then decided to give them another chance, but what disappointment. I am glad I only paid 30 dollars for this game. if I could have waited a few more weeks I could have bought it for 20, oh well.

So I have been an avid soccer game fan since winning eleven/pro evolution way back in the day! While many of these generation games are fun, this one absolutely takes the cake! A lot more realistic play's. For example, players don't just stop and turn on a dime and continue at fast speeds, they will stop and change directions and their speed at which this happens is very realistic. Only complaint would be sometimes the goalies are ridiculously good, or the exact opposite, so there's room for improvement, but this adds to the realistic feel because you aren't running up the score with double digits. Overall, absolutely love and recommend this game!

Got it for the free world cup update

I usually buy the standalone version of the FIFA World Cup games but this world cup, FIFA rolled the World Cup mode into a free update. While that sounds awesome, there are some pros and cons. The great thing is that as mentioned the update is free and has the basic groups and knock out stages for you to play as. This is really the core of what I wanted. The only down side is that the world cup mode is not as robust as the standalone games were, but you still have the standard Fifa 18 game here so it evens out. I have had a blast playing through the World Cup Mode.

If you have played the last 3/4 Fifa games then you know what you are getting. Presentation is nice, fantastic choice of leagues/teams, a decent amount of game modes but with familiar gameplay and feel which ultimately is its downfall. Fifa 18 is not a bad game by any means, but for EA to churn out the same game every year, its becoming increasingly apparent and frustrating for some fans. Pes 2018 is still infront in terms of gameplay and 'realistic' graphics but Fifa 18 will appeal to the more casual football fan/gamer who prefer a pick up and play style of football.

    Toxic Button delay

I loved playing FIFA games, up until 2016 when there has been a consistency in button delay, specifically with online game. It’s a hit or miss when you get a smooth, playable game. But for the most part I feel like I have to smash the “A” button to pass, and when it final does pass the ball it is poorly timed, because I wanted it passed a second ago. In this game, those seconds count. I returned this game, like I did with 16 and 17, two months after purchasing them. I hope Fifa 19 doesn’t have the same problem. We shall see.

This is by far the most realistic FIFA game offering yet. Each evolution of the game seems to made it play more realistic and therefore more challenging. With the last version (FIFA 17) the breakaways with speedy players were removed and this version ups the ante by making ball control more realistic so players aren't going to have perfect control of the ball when receiving a pass. So bad ball control and bounces can results in giveaways. Also the continuation of the Hunter story plays nicely.

What ever happened to putting game in console, hitting start and your playing the game? I love soccer and my little boys interest in soccer has blown up. I figured the game would help him understand the concept of space, movement with/without ball, marking, defense and attacking. This game has shown him that. My problem is getting to the game and playing. Too much going on and that’s what I don’t like. Once we start playing, the game is quite fun.

Fifa returns again and its a great game, the stadium and the crowd and the players look great. The Journey mode is a great new addition that they continue to build on here. I just wish games felt more special. If I score a go ahead goal in the 88th minute we my players should go nuts. Derby games should be the same. Sometimes the 5th goal in a blow out feels the same as that last second winner.

This game just keep worse with each new year. You still can't play 11 on 11 games with real teams. When playing on line matches there is no way to prevent from playing the same team. They removed the ability to trap the ball for some unknown reason. Even the celebrations are goofy. I bought it on a black Friday discount and now I am taking back. EA has continued to ruin this game. This is the last fifa I will buy.

    Almost as smooth as PES

Gameplay for FIFA is much improved this year, but it is still not quite as smooth as PES. However, the available teams and game modes (like the Alex Hunter story) make FIFA the game of choice. As I said, the gameplay still lacks a little smoothness as compared to PES, but EA have balanced out things a lot. For instance, you can't go turbo/spring crazy anymore. Overall, a good game and as addicting as ever.

This years fifa game is over the top in content. Brining back all the fan favorite modes including so many teams to choose from. The ultimate team experience is still the pinnacle of the franchise. the gameplay and graphics are very fluent and feels so realistic. Love having my buddies come over to start up a nice friendly match. Great for beginners and experts. Best soccer game to date hands down

    Gameplay is same old garbage

I was reluctant to keep giving my money to EA for FIFA. Alas, on Black Friday I decided to give it one more go. The game is full of glitches and is only geared for those who want to spend a ton of money on their FUT platform. Career mode is still full of glitches and when you increase the difficulty the AI only becomes stronger and faster, there is no difference in "skill" level. Never again EA.

The game play took a big leap with more fluid action, and amazing multi angle replays. FUT is as fun as ever and other areas of improvement are ball control and shooting. Finesse shots are a little harder to score on but that’s just being more realistic. Must have for FIFA fans. My only concern is with EA Sports constant online outages. Here’s hoping that’s in the past.

The Journey part 2 is a fantastic follow up to the inaugural story mode. With twists and turns deciding your fate with major choices similar to the 'tell-tale' video games. Also new in manager mode is negotiations for transfers and contracts that, while difficult at first, is more enjoyable than sending an email and much more rewarding when successful.

This release has best game play for the series to date. However, it also has the most glitches of any of the dogs games. Already had a patch released by developers but game play has frozen twice. Many of the skills challenges go crazy and do not let you attempt them. Still a great game though. If not for glitching would easily be a 5 star game.

It's another FIFA title, what do you expect? It's good, the team rosters change and the player attributes change, but we all know its the same old FIFA that's always been here. Just a little reskin and update here and there. I mainly play online and locally with friends so I can't speak much to the career aspect.

This was priced at 24.99 I'm sure to make way for fifa19 but my son wanted it anyway. And with the gamers club another 20% off and unbeatable deal. He loves the game and isnt even a big soccer fan. He wanted to try to play a new game and says the playability on the game is wonderful

Somehow EA manages to get me to buy FIFA every year; this year is no exception. So, is FIFA 18 better than FIFA 17? Sure. Is FIFA 18 a completely new and different experience? Nope, not at all. I buy it for the updated rosters - your mileage may vary. Still, it's a great game if you like your soccer.

Overall this is an excellent version of the fifa series. I like the changes made to career mode, especially the process of buying and selling players. Although i would add the feature of searching players based on their overall score. Fifa is always trying to improve, thats why i buy it every year
