I love, love, love this smart thermostat. I was going back and forth between this and the nest and I'm glad I went with the ecobee. The added satellite thermostats come in handy. I can set sleep mode to just monitor the nursery and adjust temperature accordingly since we can add and remove blankets and the baby can't. Installation was easy and I even had a hard to reach furnace in the attic. Amazon Tech support was super helpful when I ran into a small issue.

Great thermostat with an external sensor. Would be more useful with 2 more sensors for more coverage. Look for discounts through your utility company

Very easy to install. It looks very sleek and easy to use. My only gripe is that when it's programmed, my temp is the house is two the three degrees off. for instance if it's set for 74 it will be 77 in the house. If I want to have 74 in the house I need to set it for 72.

It does it’s job. Packaging was sleek and nice, set up was pretty easy. I did have some issues at first with a sensor not connecting, but since then, it’s worked beautifully. My biggest issue is the range that you’re able to keep the temp set. You can’t place at just one temperature, but instead a range. I’ve heard it can be two degrees, but I’ve only been able to do five.

I already have two ecobee 4 (previous model) and decided to test the new model. I'm very impressed with the quality/features of this smart thermostat. I also want to share that the new sensors are amazing.

Great thermostat, having A built in speaker with Alexa is huge for someone wanting to expand their smart home ecosystem. Only bummer is that Alexa can only function in English and no other languages.

My previous home had a Ecobee smart thermostat and I loved it. When I moved I had to get another. I love that I can control it from my phone when I’m at work. Helps me conserve money on my utility bills.

Huge upgrade over my Honeywell t5. I use HomeKit and this one actually communicates with HomeKit effectively. I love that it shows the humidity and can overcool to reach a humidity goal as I live on a body of water. So humidity is always a concern. The remote sensor is another great feature. Our house is much more comfortable with this thermostat. I definitely recommend.

I've had this thermostat in my home for two months now. It was ok to setup, just a couple of issues with the instructions not being clear about which connection to make with the A/C wire. Customer service was very helpful, but it shouldn't take a phone call to determine which connection to use, especially when everything other wire's connection is so explicitly explained. Now comes the fun part. The thermostat recently changed the schedule completely. It went from cooling to 76 degrees to cooling to 74 degrees, without me changing anything. It also started cooling to only 82 degrees during the "Sleep" cycle, again, with no changes on my part. It looks like this may be a default comfort setting, so maybe the thermostat reset for some reason. When trying to change the scheduling, I kept getting a message saying "Ecobee thermostat disconnected", even though I could see it connected to my router. When I tried to change the schedule, by deleting a day, it kept adding a new default setting, so I went into the Settings. Nothing about the thermostat was set, no Thermostat name, no location, home size, nothing. Even though I had done all this initially. So, it really did look like it had reset for some reason. Now, after setting all that info, I went to reset the schedule. The only way to do that is to reset EVERYTHING I had just set. Why the reset everything button is the last thing you see is beyond me. And, why make users reset everything to default, if all we want to do is reset the schedule? I reset everything, and then changed all the default comfort settings to what I wanted, saved everything, and went on with my day. About an hour later, my Wife asked me "Why is it 80 degrees in here?". I looked on my account, and the thermostat was named "Smart (XXXXXXX)", with the Xs being what I assume is the serial number, instead of what I had named it an hour earlier. And, the thermostat was set to "Off", instead of to "Auto". Everything seems to be working now, but I want to know why things keep getting reset, so I called customer service. I have to say, whomever records the voice greeting seems to be a lovely person, but the fact that you can't get customer service for your home thermostat ON A WEEKEND is absurd! I would normally give the unit 4 stars (don't get me started on how ridiculous I think it is that you can only use one phone as an "at home" sensor, even though most households have more than one occupant), but the annoyance of having to set it up three times now, and no customer service except during regular business hours, would make it a zero, so I averaged the stars. Ecobee, I so want to love your products, but you need to get your act together. This is the 4th generation of this product, you should have things sorted by now.

Purchased the ecobee smart thermostat after extensive research comparing it to the nest and honeywell units. While it was working, it performed better than expectations. However, the Ecobee Smart Thermostat stopped connecting to 5ghz network after 5 days of use and after it repeatedly failed to connect to the network automatically and manually, I had to call technical support. That's when the issues started and I had to dock 3 stars off this review. 1. Lengthy wait times waiting to talk to technical support. First instance took 30 minutes to diagnose the issue before giving up since I had to go do something else. Second call took over an hour 2. On the second call, things started to get ridiculous that I had to prove to them there was a hardware issue with the thermostat. CSR was argumentative vs supportive. 3. CSR kept insisting that 5ghz had extremely short range even though I had other devices in the house connected without issues except for the ecobee. The router was merely 15 feet away with line of sight. Additionally CSR claimed that the radios on my phone and other devices were superior hence the better range. I had to resort to dragging the router all the way across the room to less than 4 feet away to finally end the argument once and for all that it was a hardware issue with the Ecobee instead of my home signal and router.

Ecobee Works Fine, Totaltech install nor complete

Had it installed by Best Buy Totaltech and it works well. I took off 1 star due to the presale misinformation provided by Best Buy Totaltech which stated they would hookup the humidifier to enjoy the Ecobee features. I purchased the 5 since it had this feature (versus the less expensive 3 model). Total Tech did not hookup the 6th wire for the humidifier. Luckily, I had the 5th C wire already connected to the furnace and did not require the adaptor for a 4 wire setup.

We decided to buy an Ecobee after we came back from a trip and our current thermostat had quit working while we were gone. We wanted to be able to check on it while we’re gone. So far we are very pleased.

I’ve had nest, GLAS and now ecobee. So far I like this one the best but nest was also a great thermostat too. I moved and left my Nest behind and thought I would try this. I don’t use Alexa so that feature on ecobee is meaningless to me. The feature that I like best about ecobee vs nest is that I can set ecobee to the temperature that I want where nest changes all the time because of the way it learns your routines.

ecobee is reliable and easy to use and install. I think it's the best on the market. We have one in the LL and one on the main floor and I'm about to put one in the garage for a simple Heater Unit (a little more than we need, but like the consistency and it integrates with Apple HomeKit and Siri voice commands very well).

Bought this to replace my existing thermostat as it gave incorrect readings because it was fairly close to the boiler and that area was always hot, which made the thermostat read incorrectly and the room was always cold. Now with the ecobee, I’m able to disable the main sensor and place the remote sensor in the colder part of the room. Now the room is comfortable and has setting for home, away, sleep and vacation.
