Purchased these to be able to adjust temp from an app. Office in lower level, and keep temp low. Can warm up the space by turning up heat before I head down to work. Work well

The product is good but there are some bugs that need to be fixed. First is if you are using google home when the thermostat is in auto mode it will not work correctly when talking to google assistant or adjusting via a home hub touch screen or the google home app. The bug has been there a while and no reason it shouldn’t be fixed already this brought me to reinstall my nest. Note also compared to the Nest the interface of pulling down on a touchscreen vs turning a dial is just not as natural. And cheaper materials.

I’ve been a Nest customer for a few years and have slowly escaped from the nest ecosystem. Since the HomePod minis have come out, I’ve been slowly making my smart home built around the Siri ecosystem and HomeKit. That was my main reason for purchasing the Ecobee. Now that I’ve been using Ecobee and can provide a detailed comparison. First, I love the Home Screen a lot more on the Ecobee. At a quick glance you get an accurate time (you can pick time zones on the Ecobee. Nest always has me on Central when I really live on Eastern - we are close to the lines that swap over). You can also see a quick (larger view) of the current weather as well. The sensors that come with the device are better as well because they detect motion and not just temperature. They end up being cheaper than nest sensors as well. The app is much better for the Ecobee than the nest due to a lot of options to play with. It makes the Nest seem very basic compared to all of the options and features of Ecobee. Of course, home kit integration is great without the annoying work around and programming you have to do for the Nest (yes I tried that too through a hub on Amazon but it was very glitchy and not reliable). Go with the Ecobee if you like personalization, features, and a longer period of tracking your use. Their website account management is awesome!

I had owned an earlier version of the ecobee at my home that I had sold a month ago. My new home needed an upgrade so I chose to stay with ecobee. This new unit works great and the installation and setup is so easy. I love the new remote room sensor too. Funny, my new home actually has two separate thermostats so I had to purchase a second ecobee and they both work great together.

Loving this smart thermostat. I hated having to get up an constantly adjust the temperature now I can do everything from my phone! Plus Alexa is very helpful too.

Screen could be a little easier to use, but I do have fat fingers. Alexa works great but the speaker isn't made for more than responding, don't plan on playing music on it. App works great. Overall a super solid product.

This thing works well and saves you a ton of money in auto mode. Easy to install as long as you have a C wire.

Easy installation as long as you have a "C" wire present at the current thermostat. This thermostat includes a device to use if the "C" wire is not present. I did not have to use it. It has the bells and whistles other thermostats have. Your online Ecobee account will show HVAC operation and interior temperatures. The app does not provide that information. It has been hooked up for three weeks now and has been working well.

I really like this thermostat. Originally I thought it would be awesome to have the voice control but I am thinking I could have done without it.

I bought and installed this thermostat for my parents home and they love it! It is a pretty affordable smart thermostat with a color screen and Amazon Alexa built-in. Was fairly easy to install but you will want to watch out for the mounting surface and make sure wiring in your home is compatible.
