Right out of the box, it was nothing but problems. It took over 8 hours to fully charge, and only after doing a firmware update did the LEDs finally indicate that it was charged. After setting up the cleaning schedule and placing it in the pool, I started the cleaning cycle – but it was a disaster. The propellers would only spin for about 15 seconds, then stop for 30 seconds, before trying again. This repeated cycle eventually stopped altogether, leaving me with a non-functional skimmer. I tried to restart the setup sequence three times, hoping it was a one-off issue, but it never worked. Honestly, it was faster and less frustrating to skim the pool manually rather than deal with this unreliable product. Buyer beware – don’t waste your time or money on this.

This solar-powered automatic robotic pool skimmer Surfer S2 comes with a 24-month warranty and worry-free customer service from the date of purchase. To further make sure what caused the cleaner failure, please do the troubleshooting steps below to fix the issue: 1. Please check whether the machine is used in a saltwater swimming pool. If so, observe the rotation of the propellers on both sides after turning on the machine. If there is obvious jamming, turn off the machine, manually turn the lower propeller, turn on the machine and let it run for half an hour before testing (if it is caused by saltwater crystallization, this operation can solve the machine caused by saltwater crystallization); 2. If it is not a saltwater swimming pool, please turn off the machine, clean up the foreign objects wrapped around the propeller or impeller, and manually turn the impeller for testing after cleaning. If the rotation is normal, turn on the machine for testing; 3. After turning off the machine, wipe the sensor probe with a clean and soft cloth, and then turn it on for testing; 4. This skimmer picks them all up. It is also solar powered so I can leave it in the pool all day. So far so good!
