Great Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Retired my 8 year old Ecovac with this T9 model. Absolutely love that it mapped to house effortlessly, can vacuum and mop at the same time. Battery level is amazing for my 2200 sqft home. Transitions from hardwood floor to tile to bathroom carpets effortlessly. Also ablento clean underneath the beds with ease. The auto cleaning and aroma feature is also very convenient. Excellent product for the price.

A large leap over my previous robovacs.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've gone through most of the major robovac manufacturers. While I loved Neato's robot shape and performance I needed more and landed on the Ecovacs N8+. Between the self-emptying and the dust mop, I thought most of my needs were met. The Ecovacs mapping app can use quite a bit of work when it comes to separating rooms out but it was livable. Eventually it was time to replace and while the T8, when I got the N8, was out of my price range I decided to go a little further and instead of the N10, I picked up the T9 and I haven't been happier. It's a lot better than my N8 in almost every respect but balance demands Pros and Cons. - It got a 4/5 from me because when I bought it the T20 and X1 existed but were a little more expensive than I wanted to spend and they were objectively better - AIVI does a better job detecting objects on a solid floor vs carpet. It ate a 2x1 LEGO brick on medium pile carpet, but consistently drove around an M&M on the tiled dining room floor. If everything is picked up and I want to make sure it gets *everything* then I turn off object detection. - The rubber flap at the front of the rotating brush can actually prevent small and lightweight object, popcorn, from being picked up. But the suction is incredible. - The air freshener stopped being noticeable after a couple of weeks. - The vibrating mopping pad is beyond awesome.

Needs a push back home

Amazing! Well worth the investment.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Life changing. My living/dining/kitchen would take a very long time to manually vac or mop. Huge time saver. More actuate than I could do with the mapping technology. The only caveat is the moping function isn’t for deep cleaning, but more for touch ups in between proper manual mopping. It also says only to use water but that’s not really suffice for disinfecting floors.

This is DEE!! robot for hard floors!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS… Is Ecovacs Debot 9+ and it is around the middle range when it comes to Ecovacs portfolio of cleaning robots, but that doesn’t mean it gives middle-of-the-pack results! Wrapped in white plastic, the Debot 9+ (we shall just call it Debot moving forward) is quite the multi-use robot, being able to both Mop and vacuum at the same time! As always there are caveats and pitfalls, but let's see how it stacks up to the competition and see JUST how well the Debot 9+ will fit into my cleaning regimen. How Private is your data with Debot ============================== Debot has said that all the information regarding your house and your robot NEVER leaves the robot, and with cameras/sensors scanning your home when you are and are not there it is important to make sure your data cant be accessed to compromise your home so it was nice to see that Debot is keeping all the data inside of your home and none is, at least according to Debot, accessible to anyone else but you. Setup =============== The setup for the Debot 9+ was relatively routine, find a place that you want your base station (where your robot will always return to) fits and is near an outlet (the power cord is about 5’) and plug it in! If you are placing it on a carpeted surface (which I do not recommend but we will get into that later) then it has an attachment for the station that allows the Debot to move easier from the docking station off. Once you get the docking station placed as well as the robot placed on the docking station, then the app guides you through a setup for an account where you have to scan the robot and send it on its first mission! To map your house! After that, you have pretty much set it up, nothing glamorous but also it didn’t need to be. Appearance =============== I have to say, when I typically buy robots and the likes I am more of a black finish type of person (matt black everything gang, however, the white on this is really nice and hasn’t shown dirt or wear at all like I would be worried about. The plastic is a really nice feel and everything fits and feels like it is meant to last. I would say it is absolutely comparable to my (double the price) iRobot vacuum cleaners as well. I am quite surprised and happy with how this is built. Obstacle Avoidance =============== As with every cleaning robot, it is going to have to avoid the obstacles of everyday life! Shoes, dog toys, ottomans, and everything else moves around your house… so your Debot should move around them! My experience with the Debot was very pleasurable and I can say for sure that the only issue I had in terms of obstacle avoidance was that some of the clumps of string from my dog's ropes are still going to get sucked up and tangled… but no cleaning robot has been able to solve that riddle so I can’t fault my Debot there. The execution on everything movement has been really well executed by the Debot! App =============== This…THIS is where it gets interesting. There are things here I have seen before from other brands such as scheduled runs, adjusting the power and whatnot… and then there are some really interesting things I have seen featured on the Debot that I haven't seen anywhere else so I will highlight them. -Ability to double clean on the same job -tells you when it is tanged -tells you when to replace the mop pads (pre-set time that is adjustable) -shows the wear and tear on the machine and what needs to be replaced (pictured at the end) -On higher-end models you can use the camera on the robot to go around the house looking -a ‘deep clean’ mode that REALLY works the floors up -Can clean an individual room or adjustable zone on the map it makes. The Debot app is just absolutely well executed with one minor caveat - if you change WIFI names, you kinda have to ‘reset’ your Debot and it is super quick (less than 5 min) but when I did it, it was somewhat more nuanced than it should have been, or at least was for me. It was also a very well laid out process so I was never confused, just a few more steps than it could have been. How loud is it =============== Mine never got louder than 64db at my house, even on MAX and when it was emptying the waste bin. This was my biggest issue with my iRobot is that on its docking station, it sounded like a jet taxiing for takeoff in my living room, whereas this is just a mild rumble that I could easily not hear a few rooms over. I still keep my vacuum off the MAX setting and just to the second highest, this way I can still carry out a conversation should it come into the room. Easily a very quiet machine. Magnetic Boundary Strip =============== This is something that I did not test, however, wanted to point to it as I find it really interesting! Ecovacs offers a magnetic strip to keep the robot away from some areas altogether which really intrigues me with dogs. I will be purchasing this and leaving a comment under this with my thoughts on it, but the ability to keep it away from my pets food/water is phenomenal and I am sure you can find a reason to throw this down as well! Mopping Performance =============== I have to say, for also being a vacuum I really enjoyed how well this mopped. It was on accident either, it vacuums first and then sprays the water down and then mops in a 3 stage ordeal which I like substantially more than my iRobot M6 on the premises that my M6 sprays out in a very uncontrolled manner around my dog's water and toys and I always worry that they consume the chemicals, whereas this sprays it straight down to the floor. Yes, there are tradeoffs and you certainly get less spread with this method but I just turn up the amount of fluid it is putting out and have accepted this uptick in cost in terms of safety for my dogs. This was a huge +1 for my Debot. Outside of HOW it mops, it mops a little bit better than a Swiffer but nothing deep clean. I can say that I never walked into my house and saw dirt that it couldn’t tackle as well. I would say that this mop can hold its own against all but those that use steam and I would rate this in the upper echelon of robot mops… and it also Vacuums! Vacuum Performance =============== Now, we can get into the numbers on how well this sucks and blows, but lets skip the formalities and get straight to the meat here. This thing SUCKS… I don’t have much carpet but it left some CLEAN lines on my carpet when it does. I would say it has almost completely replaced my dyson, unless I need to deep clean and I need that extra sucking power, otherwise the vacuum really holds its own and on my hardwood floors it is simply the all in one solution. Truly makes me rethink why I spent so much on my other robots! How well does the Scent Pod work? ============================== This was something that I was quite disappointed in, the scent pod was quite the gimmick. I couldn't smell it, not even kinda! I tried to huff the fumes that my beloved T9+ was spitting out and unfortunately, it was a lot of things that didn’t resemble Cucumber & Oak. I hardly use the regular vacuum attachment regardless so I am not really missing out, however, was a bummer to see it not work at all. Things to know =============== You cannot use the scent and the mop at the same time, the back of the robot has a slot where the vacuum is either mopping or vacuuming and you can switch it out at any time. It can vacuum while it mops, just only on hardwood and not on a carpeted surface. The Robot Vacuum comes standard with a voice that will guide you, you CAN turn it off should you not like it. Ecovacs have made this setup very modular in the sense that should anything need to be replaced at any point in time, it is really simple to swap it out. Conclusion =============== I want to leave off with this as a special +1 for products that deliver in such a great method, this is the perfect home cleaning robot for hardwood/laminate type flooring. Unless you have really high (like high enough you have to think about it) transitions between rooms then there is really no reason to not purchase this. Yes, it is somewhat annoying to swap out the mopping for the vacuum for the carpet and personally, I would just recommend you look elsewhere if that is going to be a hassle because this is meant for more hard flooring areas and homes in my opinion. It does what it does really well, and the switching between one and the other would simply be too much for me as I would have to decide if I was to vacuum my floors or carpet and this is meant to take the thinking out of cleaning. I had almost given up on cleaning where my dog door is as my dogs are constantly in and out (and also big dogs too) and it was just constant mopping and vacuuming and the Debot has literally saved my sanity as I can just tell it to go clean that ‘room’ individually a couple of times a day on the double clean setting and I come home like I just left! Cost of replenishable =============== Vacuum bags pack of 3 and 3 Air Freshener: $35.98 Vacuum bags pack of 6: $35:98 Cleaning Solution 2L: $44.98 Mop pads (disposable) 25 pack: $29.99 Mop pads (reusable): $34.99 Scent refill pack of 3 - $19.99 Air Filters 2pc: $14.99 Estimated Cost Per year to run (I will not be taking into account the air freshener): -Mop pads (reusable): $34.99 (one-time purchase) -Vacuum bags pack of 6: $35:98 (I have estimated mine to be one per month so this is x2 -Cleaning Solution 2L: $44.98 I use about .5L per month on the cleaning solution (I use more than avg, mostly hardwood flooring) -Air Filters 2pc: $14.99 Ecovacs recommends changing these every 2-3 months so that's 4 times a year My FIRST Annual cost to run: $271.87 (235.89 if you take the mop pads out) This is an estimate and you can always swap out different things that are cheaper, personally I use the swifter hardwood fluid for their jets in all my robot mops with zero issues. Open the top and it is all the same :)

One of the better SmartVacs I've used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a couple robot vacuums and each of them, while convenient and good, lacked something that either made them not quite good enough or had some design flaw that I just didn't like. After trying this EcoVacs Deebot 9+, pretty confident in saying that this is one of the better ones I've used. It's versatile in that it vacuums and does light mopping as well as auto-empty features and a usable companion app all make for a really nice "smart" vacuum. I live in a condo so my place is limited in terms of square feet. That said, this little vac can handle cleaning for my place without me so much as lifting a finger which is nice. Like most other smart vacs, the footprint on this is relatively small. Doesn't take up a whole lot of space and can fit just about anywhere really so no concerns about that. Included with the packages is the vacuum, base station as well as some accessories. I would like to shout out EcoVacs here for a really nice job on the packaging. Everything is very well packaged in its own little box and just looks really nice. Setup is fairly straightforward. Download the companion app on either iOS/Android to begin the setup. There are QR codes everywhere in the box/packaging so simply scan that and you can get started. After charging up my vac, I let it run an "auto" job to get the lay of the land in my place. One of the big negatives I have is that I wished the companion app had a VR capability where you can visually scan the floor of your place with the phone and then have the vacuum follow those boundaries. I've seen it on other vacs and thing that's a really convenient feature to have. That said, after about an hour or so, the vacuum job was done. I have mostly hardwood floors with carpeted bedrooms but the floor was much cleaner after the first run. That and you could see the vacuum lines in my carpeting which was pleasant to see as well. One of the bigger surprises for me was how quiet the vacuum was. On average, it was operating around the 60-70db mark which is about as loud as a normal conversation. When working on carpet or sometimes navigating around, the motor will kick into higher gear making it a bit louder but, overall, it was quiet and I barely noticed it while it was running. Once completed, the vacuum auto-emptied itself into the base station and that was it. I will say that the process of emptying the vac is pretty quiet comparatively. I had one smart vac that sounded like a jet engine whenever it emptied out its bin. This one is loud but not too annoyingly loud. After a few hours, the map the vacuum had generated, converted itself into a 3D map in the app. From here, you can save the map, carve out specific rooms where you can tell the vacuum to clean just those rooms. You can even modify the map with icons of furniture or other household appliances to better aid the robot in cleaning. Here was an issue I noted with this feature in that editing the map is a cumbersome and inaccurate. You're able to extend walls, for example, in the map but it's very tricky to do so and it doesn't always work. Seems like you need a stylus to do this as the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as one would've hoped. I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I had lots of trouble trying to edit the map so eventually I just gave up. The mopping feature on this is pretty good. In the app, you can specify a normal vacuum run or a mopping run. Once you've setup the map then you can simply highlight which areas to mop and you're good. The vacuum comes with the mop attachment which snaps onto the back of the unit as well as some wet pads to use. In terms of mopping, this isn't going to get that deep down mopping like you would with a mop/bucket. This mopping is pretty much just wiping a damp rag on your floor. That said, it's good at that since it did do a pretty good job with wiping down the floor. The mopping attachment has a reservoir where you can pour in cleaner to maximize the cleaning the mopping does. Overall, I think this is a great little auto-vac. It does a great job at light vacuuming on carpets and works well on hardwood/tile surfaces, is relatively quiet and can mop your floor as well. Really, the only things I didn't like about this vac were minor from the functionality of the app to the robot sometimes getting trapped on small obstacles. I have one of those adjustable height laptop stands next to my couch and the legs on that are just metal bars. The vacuum tried to go over them but got stuck throwing an error message on my phone. Not major but just kind of an irritation really.

Solid among many competitors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This robot vacuum has been a great addition to my cleaning equipment at home. I have used other robot vacuums and know what I like and dislike and this one is definitely one that checks all my boxes. One thing that is a must vs other models I have used is the self emptying capability. An other older I had did not have this function and since having this capability I would not have it any other way. Its a time saver too as the internal bag that fills as it empties seems to be pretty large too, and I havent had to empty it yet since setting up the vacuum a little over a week ago. The set up is quick and easy too, by simply scanning a QR code and pairing to your wifi. One thing that I do wish that this model had is the video manager feature, in other words the capability to see video of where the unit is in your home when its cleaning. Nevertheless, this model is still an awesome add. It does not run very loudly either vs other robot vacuums which was a pleasant surprise. All in all if you are looking for a quality robot vacuum with an easy to use companion app then I would highly recommend this model as it certainly checks all the boxes!

Hassle-free floor cleaning from a tech heavy robot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new ECOVAC DEEBOT T9+ automated robot vacuum and mop is a big leap in technology compared to the previous N8 model we have been using, and loving, for the past couple years. We recently moved and wanted to get another DEEBOT since we were impressed with the automated robot vacuum we already owned and had another area we preferred to keep on an automated cleaning schedule to avoid the hassle and lack of time in our busy schedules. Our new house has mostly hard floors with several area rugs so finding the right robot vacuum for the job landed us with the new DEEBOT T9+ series which has several features we would need for the job which I will go over. Once out of the box, the assembly of the base station and vacuum/mop was simple to set up with minimal reliance on the instructions other than syncing the new vacuum/mop with the ECOVAC smart phone app and figuring out where to install the fragrance cartridge contained in the packaging which was new for us and this model. The rest of the setup was similar to the previous model and probably wouldn’t need much explanation even to those without previously using a robot vacuum. After the initial set up, charging and filling the mop reservoir with water and cleaning solution it was off and mapping the new area and cleaning. One of the selling points for my wife was the overall look of the vacuum/mop as it would be sitting against a wall in our house and she didn’t want to take away from her decorating skills, which I don’t have. We both liked the aesthetics of the new model with its mixture of gloss and matte white finish which blends better with our décor compared to the previous black model we were using. Perhaps the biggest upgrade from previous or lesser models is the true detect 3D obstacle avoidance that scans for objects before bumping into them and helps map the area it cleans and saves it to your smart phone app to show where and when it has cleaned. We have had robot mops in the past that had a similar feature but the T9+ already appears to do a better job at identifying obstacles and perhaps that is due to having multiple sensors around the vacuum/mop. Not only that but it also is able to determine when it changes flooring from a hard surface to carpet or a rug to provide more vacuum power and it will not attempt to mop when it detects carpet or a rug. After several uses, the other thing I noticed is this model has not gotten stuck during cleaning the same area(s) our previous model was cleaning and perhaps this is due to the obstacle avoidance sensors or just overall better power and traction. Another significant upgrade is the motorized mop that scrubs back and forth while it’s cleaning to pick up dirt and spills better than just going over them once. As in their previous model(s), there are two fan style sweeping brushes underneath that will catch debris against walls/surfaces and push it into the vacuum suction. You can use disposable or reusable microfiber mop attachments for scrubbing and moping. The area we have our new T9+ cleaning is approximately 700 square feet due to splitting the workload with our other vacuum/mop therefore a single charge is plenty enough to clean a time or two before running out of power. Once the vacuum/mop is done cleaning or begins to run low on power, the T9 will automatically return to the base station for charging and empties the debris into the auto-empty station which seals away the dirt and debris to avoid having to constantly empty out the cleaning container on the vacuum/mop itself. We noticed this model is much quieter than the previous model which is great for the scheduled middle of the night cleanings to avoid waking anyone up. As a bonus to this model, the T9 has a fragrance cartridge option you can add to the vacuum plate to spread a little air freshener around while it’s cleaning and rid some of that nasty vacuum smell you’ll get after using any vacuum for long enough. The one gripe I have with this model is you have to switch between the vacuum and moping front plates and am hoping in a future upgrade they can incorporate both into one to avoid having to change them out between cleans. Overall, we are, again, truly impressed with our new DEEBOT and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a robot vacuum and mop.

Don't buy this trash.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer Beware. We bought a Shark robot vacuum several years ago, and (to avoid the pun) it wasn’t great. It worked alright, but after a while it became more annoying to deal with than anything else. We replaced it with a generic stick vacuum, and it still works great. My wife broke her knee, and I’m admittedly terrible at keeping up with vacuuming, so we started talking about giving a robot vacuum another try. Even as she healed it was difficult for her to be on her feet for long periods of time, and I remained more willing to be the focus of her ire than push that stupid stick all over the house every day. I have reaped what I have sown. After tons of research, we decided to splurge and get an Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni back in May. Worked like a dream. Loved it. She was happy. I was happy. Then around the end of November, this thing started to lose its absolute mind. It began with small things like randomly not being able to find the dock or just stopping in the middle of the floor and giving up, and is now not vacuuming, mostly unable to dock properly (finds the dock, backs in, comes back out, adjusts, backs in, comes back out, adjusts, backs in, repeat until battery dies), and the dock leaks water all over the floor (empties every drop of water in the reservoir onto the floor). I have bought replacement parts, cleaned the entire machine several times, and tried every troubleshooting guide for this robot that I could find. Nothing helped. So I reached out to Ecovacs. I originally called and explained the situation. I was then told that they were going to send me an e-mail and I needed to take video of the robot to prove that it was doing what I said it was. Honestly, I have never been told by a company that they were assuming that I was a liar until I proved otherwise, so I got pretty grumpy. I did what they asked, begrudgingly, because I am currently the owner of a $1000 paperweight only good for watering my floor. I sent them my receipt, videos of it not vacuuming and being generally useless, pictures of a giant puddle, and a description of everything that has been happening. I also said I wanted a new one or my money back (a long shot, I know, but worth trying). In this email exchange I have been told that they will only “try” to fix my vacuum “if” it’s actually doing what I’m saying it is. They will give me a label to send it to them after I resend my receipt that was attached to the original e-mail labeled Ecovacs Best Buy Receipt that they couldn’t find attached to the email that it was (I checked) definitely attached to, and asked me to write them a review (which I would, but Best Buy doesn’t sell this thing anymore, so I guess I’ll just post a review wherever I can). I replied with my receipt attached (again) and asked what happens if they “fix” it and it just breaks again in another six months, and if they were going to send me a box to ship this giant thing in because I don’t still have the original box. The next reply completely ignored my first question, but then assured me that I shouldn’t worry about the box because I could just go buy one myself and then fill it with whatever trash I have laying around the house to keep it from getting damaged during shipping. “For the box, please don't worry. We suggest you buy any box that can put the machine into it. But please make sure that the machine won't be damaged. So, we advise you can find some old newspaper or foam to protect it. That will be ok.” Even if I did buy newspaper or foam for some reason, I don’t have the habit of hanging onto garbage just in case I end up not appreciating spending $1000 to have my floor kind of cleaned for six months. Also I need to send the serial number, which seems like something that should’ve been asked for initially, and ASKED ME FOR THE RECEIPT AGAIN. I am perfectly capable of buying a box and packing materials, but that’s not the point. I have spent an unbearable amount of both money and time on an issue that, after six months, I shouldn’t be dealing with at all. My wife and I are both nurses, and both work 50-60 hours a week. Our free time is valuable and we are both easily insulted when it is wasted. I have contacted Best Buy on the off chance that they’d be willing to stand by the products that they sell, with no response. You would think that a company would at least act like they care when a customer that has spent over $13,000 in their store over the last two years is having a problem, but I guess not. I’ll just go ahead and post this review everywhere. Along with pictures of my puddles and my wife’s broken knee, since I have to prove what I say. Have fun with that. Don’t buy this trash.

Great map and vac, but with one huge catch!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am comparing this with a Roomba j7+, which also features a vacuum and mop. Well, this Deebot does a comparable job of vacuuming, but it does a better job of mopping! The mopping tank is also larger, and the mopping pad “wiggles” to do a better job of scrubbing. Note that it still does not do a “great” job of mopping, as a human could put pressure on the mop to get up stubborn spots. This device is not heavy enough to put a lot of pressure on the mop pad, so you have to keep realistic expectations. But still, for what it is, the mopping action is as good as can be expected for a cleaner such as this. It does a decent job of mapping and planning a path, and the app is relatively easy to use. You get to choose how much suction, what kind of mopping action, and how much mopping fluid to use. The lidar map does a great job determining the room layout, and it does a good job finding it way back to the base to empty and recharge. But I mentioned a catch, and boy is it a big one, especially when compared to the Roomba j7+. The robot cannot choose NOT to mop. The mop is a unit that you can detach from the back. The issue is that when it is installed, it is going to be used. If you attach the mop, it will mop the ENTIRE floor. If there is an area that cannot be mopped (welcome mat, area rug, etc.) then that area will be SKIPPED ENTIRELY! This is the fatal flaw. The Roomba can actually deploy the mop when needed and retract it when going over carpet. The Deebot, on the other hand, cannot retract the mop. I installed the mopping unit, and it refused to go over the welcome mat in front of my front door. In fact, it seemed to get stuck. It would reach the mat, and then try to back up, pushing its rear end into furniture. If you want to just vacuum, you can remove the mopping unit and replace it with an air freshener unit (Ecovacs will happily sell you refills). Then I expect that it would happily cover the entire area. The bottom line is that this might be a great purchase if your area has very little or no carpeting. On the other hand, if you have a mix of carpet and plain floor, either get a robot that can retract the mop, or get a unit that lacks the mop entirely. Paying for this unit that has a mop that you won’t use seems a waste of money.

Posted .Thanks for your review - great to hear the scrubbing mopping is working well. The T9+ features carpet detection and will automatically avoid carpets when mopping to prevent carpet from getting wet. As you noted, to vacuum all surfaces - hard floors and carpets - remove the mopping module and replace it with the included air freshener module.
With the mopping module attached, it would avoid a carpeted welcome mat and might need to back up to avoid it. If you continue to encounter issues with how the T9+ cleans around the mat, please reach out to us at customerservice@ecovacs.com or 1-844-326-8227 so we can assist.

A Feature-Packed, Reliable Robot Vacuum

In the box, you’ve got the auto-empty base station, the robot vacuum with air freshener and mopping attachments and additional accessories. Everything was packaged well and quite intuitive and easy to unpackage for setup. BUILD: The T9+ is a well-built and well-designed robotic vacuum—which has been my general experience for ECOVACs robots thus far. Visibly on the top of the robot is the main sensor, in addition to the run button. Lifting the top lid of the robot shows the power and reset switch, a multi-function cleaning tool, as well as the dust bin that you can easily remove if it gets too full or if you need to replace/clean the filter. Fortunately, this shouldn’t be necessary since the robot will auto-empty the bin into the base station after each run. On the bottom, you can attach the two replaceable side brushes and access the main brush, wheels. I once had to access the main brush and get a cable dislodged, and was glad to find it was intuitively easy to access without needing additional tools or having to reference the manual. SETUP: If you prefer to get started hands-on, you can get started pretty quickly just using the app, but you can also reference the instruction manual which has diagrams and labels to make sure you know how each element of the vacuum works. It’s important to note that the app isn’t really optional if you want to get the most out of the T9+ and other ECOVACS products. You’ll need to set the base station against a wall where it has appropriate clearance on all 3 sides. The power cable has an organizer on the back to keep your cable management nice and clean. Switching between the air freshener module and wet mopping module is very easy, although some caution needs to be taken to ensure you don’t wetten any metal contacts on the mopping module when you fill it up with water. It’s important to mention that the T9+ will only function over a 2.4GHz wifi network, but not a 5GHz network. So be sure that whatever network you select has a 2.4GHz channel option. The app does explicitly warn you about this. Once you have it setup, you can send it off for the first mapping of your floor. CLEANING FEATURES: Once you have performed a mapping of your floor plan, you can then view a 2D map and set up cleaning zones. You can divide and merge zones, assign names to zones, and set up virtual boundaries if there are areas that you want the T9+ to avoid. For example, I have an area where I have cables on the ground and I prefer that the T9+ avoid that area altogether since it might otherwise get tangled in the main brush. Once I set up that virtual boundary, the T9+ has respected the boundary and hasn’t had any issues. You can also view a 3D map of your floor plan and select from a common list of furniture items and roughly lay them out on the floor plan. However, unlike the higher-end X1 Omni, I’m not sure there’s much practical benefit in this since you can’t use any special voice commands or tell the T9+ to “clean under the dining table”. For me, this felt more like building my home in The Sims—maybe a bit fun for visualization purposes, but doesn’t really seem to serve an obvious purpose otherwise. Also within the app you can choose specific zones to clean or let it clean all the zones. You can specify the order in which you want each zone to be cleaned if you have a preference, and you can control the water flow level and vacuum power, and even set different levels for each zone if you have a preference for deeper cleaning or perhaps need quieter cleaning in certain zones. And a feature I never would have thought of—you can enable/disable the air freshening fragrance. The included fragrance cartridge claims to last for around 60 days, and I thought it was overall pleasant without being too harsh on the nose, but others may feel differently. But thankfully, you don’t have to use it. And as with any good robot vacuum, you can set schedules for it to automatically run throughout the week. Another thing one can appreciate is that if you move the robot and base station to another floor, it will create a new map for that floor and remember it so you can seamlessly switch between floors should you decide to use one robot for multiple floors within your home. At any given time, you can edit any of the floors it has mapped and also delete a floor should you need to have the T9+ re-map a floor after a significant layout change. ROBOT PERFORMANCE: Performance-wise, The T9+ is sure to please many—especially for those who’ve never used an ECOVACS robot before. The T9+ can still get caught on cables and cords if you’re not careful, but if you keep them tidy and organized, it’s usually not a problem. Even so, the virtual boundaries can help you prevent the T9+ from entering some of those problem areas. After setting up virtual boundaries in areas that were likely to be problematic, I have not encountered any issues with the T9+ across numerous runs throughout my first week. It’s important to note that the T9+ has a primary focus on its vacuuming functionality. And while it does have a mopping feature, it’s not a set-and-forget kind of feature since you will likely need to refill the mopping reservoir and eventually dispose of the mopping pad. For those looking to mop regularly, the X1 Omni or newer T10 Omni is the star of that show. But the T9+ is certainly no slouch if you need it to do some occasional mopping. While it won’t use the quantity of water that the X1 Omni uses, the T9+ uses an S-shaped oscillating motion for quick scrubbing or a back-and-forth motion for deeper cleaning—and it does a pretty good job at it. When the mopping module is attached, the T9+ will avoid carpet, but it will still vacuum while simultaneously mopping for a thorough clean. While it might not get the stickiest messes off the floor, it certainly helps prevent any small messes from getting worse, and it’s overall efficient in doing so. The T9+ vacuumed 431 sq ft of my basement (all carpet other than a small bathroom) in 54 minutes, and it mopped+vacuumed 474 sq ft of my main floor in 80 minutes using the Quick Scrubbing pattern with Medium water flow. But it’s important to note that these numbers represent its first mapping of the area, and in the case of the main floor, I watched it obsessively clean a couple small areas that gave me the impression that it might have been “stuck”, but it never triggered an error message, and it eventually found its way out. My X1 Omni usually mops+vacuums the same floor in around 60-70 minutes. I’d expect there to be a run-to-run variance, but the results speak for themselves. My floors were cleaned, nothing was damaged, and I haven’t had to intervene once I set up virtual boundaries for areas that I found to be problematic. This is the kind of experience that any robot vacuum owner should want. And best of all, if it’s just vacuuming, I hardly ever need to do any maintenance since it auto-empties the dustbin into the base station. So unless I want it to mop, the vacuuming experience is autonomous and hands-off. CONCLUSION: The Ecovacs T9+ is another solid entry into the ECOVACS product line. And even though it’s been great for me, I do find that ECOVACS has a lot of other options that might achieve most of what I like from the T9+ at a lower price and without some of the extraneous features like the air freshener. I’d encourage anybody considering the T9+ to consider this as a recommendation since it’s overall a good product, but know that there may be other ECOVACS options that will be more convenient or perhaps even more affordable based on your needs.

Some nice extra features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had another programmable vac for a couple of years. I was interested in trying the Ecovac for two aspects that my other unit doesn't have- an auto-emptying station and a mopping feature. I am very pleased with these two features. The mopping oscillates and really scrubs the floor. I am including a picture of the pad after it finished. (I had recently cleaned the floor with a wet mop.) I was surprised at how much more dirt it picked up! The auto emptying station is a really nice feature. I had to frequently empty my other robot vacuum and it was kind of disgusting. It is very noisy when it empties, but it seems to be very thorough. The app is not quite what I was expecting. I have not found a way to program cleanings while I am at work. It does let me create boundaries- so it can stay out of a room with a floor full of legos. It is not quite as sensitive as my other robot vac and gets caught up on cords and other things that might be on the floor. I usually go around and do a "pickup" before running the vacuum. It talks to you which is kind of cool. It tells you when it is stuck, or needs to return to charge. It is fairly large- 14.5" in diameter vs. 13.5" in diameter for my other robot. An inch may not seem like much but that is an inch all the way around. It does have little sweeping brushes in the front that help collect dust and debris. Overall, I really like this vacuum. I do hope a future update for the app includes a programmable feature. Perhaps it's available but I just haven't figured it out. If it is there, they should make it easier to figure out!

Posted .Thanks for your review - great to hear your T9+ is performing well. For this model, initial mapping takes place while cleaning. To prevent disruptions to the first mapping:
- Fully charge to 100% before starting so it can map out the floor in one go
- Keep all doors open so it can find all the rooms and areas you want routinely cleaned
- Leave it running and don’t pick it up or move it unless instructed to, otherwise it will lose its map and may need to start over, as you experienced
Glad to hear the mapping worked with these steps. If you have any other questions or comments, please reach out to us at customerservice@ecovacs.com or 1-844-326-8227.

How was life before this beautiful robot joined us
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of Deebot. It does so much and is so customizable and smart. The T9+ has a low profile (height in CM is just a little over 9) when it cleans which means that it has no issues when going under the bed or chairs. It is a god send especially under the carpeted bed getting all the cat hair that is so hard to get to. The app is excellent for so many reasons. Just to name a few from a pet owner. You can set areas you don't want the robot to go to (water bowl+food bowl, heavy carpeted area or area with a lot of cat toys etc). What if your cat decides to be a cat and a toy ends up in the cleaning area? no problem usually the deebot will just bang it around with its brush and move it like a soccer ball but if it does accidentally get sucked in you will get a message that in needs attention and something is stuck. I also love the large collection tank for the trash collection, (app) it will let you know if it needs to be replaced. Water tank is huge as well. One other thing is it will automatically decide and change to a different setting for instance if its on a wooden floor versus carpet but what I like to do is just customize it myself, some features you can customize are : clean 1 time or have it go over everything 2 times, vacuum power Quiet, standard, max, water flow level low medium or high, scrubbing intensity and so much more. It is so awesome and the best investment! Also its so easy to buy more brushes and whatever you need to refresh it if you have to (I had one brush head that got tangled on max setting on carpet and had to replace it, it just pops out so easily and you can replace it in 2 seconds). This thing is so worth it 1000 times!

Dream machine!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum has been life changing - you can turn it on before you leave the house and come home to clean fresh floors and even turn it on and off from the app while you are away. I don’t know what I ever did before this little dream machine! With vacuum setting, there’s an air freshener that gives your house just a perfect hint of freshness and with the mop setting - you can scrub messes or just every day wear/dirt/dust.

Not bad for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It effectively fulfills its purpose and adequately maps out your home. The only downside is the limited flexibility in performing both mopping and vacuuming simultaneously; you can only choose one function at a time. Despite this limitation, considering the price, it proves to be a good product. The absence of scheduling capabilities is a drawback, but you can conveniently control it through your phone or by using voice commands with Google or Alexa.

Unfinished product design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our 5th Robo vacuum in 5 years. for the purposes of this review, I will be comparing this Ecovacs T9+ to laset years RoboRock S7MaxV. - The T9+design is Wonderful and its elegant in a way that makes it fit in any environment. - The build quality is wonderful and sturdy, while making cleaning and replacing the different parts that will go through wear and tear very easy, I would even go to say that an 8 years old can trouble shoot this T9+. - Software controls are OK, a bit busy but you can find anything you need and it has some features that are not available in other high end Robo vacs. like the freshener options and scheduling multiple cleans for the same surface and 3d mapping. unfortunately this is where the ROBO part ends, because it was very disappointing to learn that the T9+ CANNOT vacuum and mop at the same time, it CANNOT work on hard flooring and carperts at the same time. it order to use mopping, you will need to detach the vacuum part from the puck and insert the mopping part. this is anything but autonomous. this means it needs at least daily attention and you will have to swap modular parts if you want it to mop and vacuum daily. this means scheduling is useless for it because you have to be present to swap them. I can't stress how annoying this is for a Robovac that is $799 There is a big price difference between the 2 Robot Vacuums, but to be completely honest, the Superior RoboRock S7MaxV's price is totally justifiable because it is completely autonomous, it requires care once a week only. that is for filling the clean water tank and emptying the dirty water tank. and I do clean it once a month to take care of untangled hair, clean the washable filter, etc. conclusion: the Ecovacs Deebot T9+ is a great concept that is not finished yet. I personally cannot justify paying the retail price for this product as it stands right now.

Really great robot van
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this little device, mapped put my place with lidar, so it intelligently knows where to go and what room, I can make it do a single room if I want or the whole apartment. The mopping attachment is also a great feature and it actually does a good job. Helps me keep my place clean between deep cleans.

||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good vac for the price. It does require regular maintenance and cleaning if the scanners. The mop does a decent job, you will still need to manually mop afterwards, but certainly makes the job a whole lot easier
