The eero is working exactly like I wanted. I have a small office building that is 22 ft x 124 ft, so my challenge was getting wifi from the front where my cable modem is to the middle and back part of the office. I first tried an extender but it didn't work that well, only covered the middle, and it was like switching to a completely different router. So I bought the 3 pack. Set one unit up front with the cable modem. The second unit went into my conference room about 1/3 the way back. And the third unit is in my second conference room about 3/4 of the way back. Now I have seamless wifi all the way to the back part of my office. Speeds at each unit seem to stay consistent throughout my entire office. The app made set up a breeze. And even though it is recommended that the units are within "sight" of each other, they will work with slight obstructions.

This is so easy, an Adult can do it. No five year old required.
NOTE: If you are a Cable Modem customer and want great WiFi with incredibly easy setup, this is the product for you. If you are a Verizon FiOS customer using a Quantum FiOS Router, better to get Verizon's own Quantum WiFi Extender to accomplish the same WiFi Mesh seamless network throughout your home or office.
The EERO WiFi Router practically sets itself up. The pictographic instructions eliminate the need to understand anything more technical than being able to differentiate between an AC Wall Plug and an Ethernet Cord. Given that the two are not interchangeable, you have 100% chance of plugging the correct cords into the correct locations.
Once everything is connected, you load up the App from either the Apple or Google app store on to your Smartphone and off you go.. The App guides you through the startup and registration sequence explaining what each color light sequence means and what action needs to be taken next.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A SMARTPHONE OR TABLET to set up the EERO. If you do NOT have a Smartphone, (Apple or Android) , iPad or similar Tablet that runs Apple IOS or an Android operating system, you will NOT be able to setup this product. There is no website or embedded web configuration utility in the EERO units.
It even guides you through troubleshooting allowing you to go back just to the point that you need to repeat without having to start all over.
The final step is an Internet Speed Test confirming that all is well.
If you have more than one unit, it is suggested that you configure them all via the WiFi in close proximity to the first one. In other words, configure the second, third and any additional units at the same time right near your first EERO unit for the best possible chance of success.
Again, the EERO App will walk you through everything - including the ability to name each unit so that you know its' location - like Den, Bedroom, Hallway, Upstairs or any custom label you like.
IMPORTANT: If you are using Verizon FiOS, you may need to call Verizon FiOS Support and ask them to restart the ONT (Optical Network Transmission) Unit to release the current IP address assigned to your previous Quantum FiOS or Actiontec FiOS Routers. Once the ONT is restarted by VERIZON, your EERO unit will acquire a new IP address and you can proceed. Restarting the ONT on your own will NOT release the address. If you do NOT call Verizon FiOS Support, you may need to wait up to six hours for the ONT to release the IP address on its' own.
With Verizon FiOS, if you replace your Quantum or Actiontec FiOS Routers with the EERO, you may affect your FiOS DVR and Program Guide Services. Additional configuration is required which may be beyond that of the target market for the EERO.
With Cable Modems, a simple power off for about two minutes is more than sufficient to resolve the release and renewal of the IP address from your old Router to your NEW EERO.
Technical Review and Comments:
On the outside chance that the units are spaced widely between floors or in distant parts of the house, you can also connect the units via a wired Ethernet cable to your existing wired local area network so that they use the wired network to communicate and act more like independent WiFi Access Points instead of, or in addition to a pure Mesh Wireless Network.
For those who are technical: EERO offers absolutely ZERO control of the network. You can set port forwards. You can only set a Static IP by setting a DHCP reservation with the EERO assigned IP. (That is correct: you cannot enter a MAC address nor select the IP assigned only set the one assigned by EERO as STATIC via DHCP Reservation.)
And, there is no option to change the assigned internal Subnet. So if you prefer a 10.10.x.x or a 192.168.x.x network, you are out of luck.
For those who are using SIP Trunks or Hosted VoIP solutions, the EERO allows all outbound registrations and the return paths to proceed without issue. No need to open any ports or create port forwards. Again, this assumes you are using SIP/VoIP devices that "phone home" and make an outbound connection to your VoIP provider from inside your network first.
EERO support is super responsive but not particularly helpful with any technical network questions. In short, if it is not in or supported by the "App", support will have no idea how to direct or assist you. When I called about the ability to change the sub-net or even to know the default Sub-Net assigned, the support person did not know what a sub-net was.

This WiFi system was simple to set up with my IPhone. I have had great speed and perfect performance right from the time I set it up. Previously, I had a room where WiFi reception was always spotty. No boosters would make it better. The EERO performs as if my devices are hard wired.

This WiFi extended was quick & easy to set up & has improved our home WiFi greatly! Streams music, videos & movies much better on our devices/TVs, doesn’t get hung up like it used to. Only negative is that we pay so much for high speed Internet & we still had to buy this device to make it more workable. The price seems too high for this device but our internet is so much better so we are very happy with it!

My download speeds went from 16 Mbps to 125 Mbps after installing only two eeros. Every dead spot we had upstairs has perfect internet now. The setup is supposed to take minutes but for some reason, my set of eeros would not communicate with each other and it was difficult to find any information on what to do online. You shouldn't run into this problem, but if you do, the folks at the customer support center are phenomenal. They were incredibly patient and apologetic. They helped me get everything set up and even sent me a replacement eero the very next day to replace the one that was having issues. It is definitely worth the investment!

Wow this set up is amazing it literally took me 20 minutes to set up and download the app for the WiFi system. First and foremost with my old router I was only getting 15 mbs download and as soon as I installed this it went up to 106 mbs, which is drastic! I positioned al 3 boxes around the house and have no dead spots whatsoever. Highly recommended and if you can find them still you can get it for $100 off

I needed to set up household wi-fi service for a client with a home that was much too large for a conventional wi-fi router to reach the places where wi-fi access was needed most. Unfortunately, even though the home was fairly new, the builder did not include any Ethernet cabling. I'm not a fan of conventional wireless range extenders, because they tend not to provide great coverage (they're really just meant to eliminate dead spots), and they either use half the available bandwidth for extender-router communication, of they dedicate the 5GHz channel for that communication, leaving the lower-speed 2.4GHz channel for your wireless devices. My preferred solution for this problem is to combine powerline networking with an inexpensive, industrial-grade wireless solution such as Ubiquiti UniFi access points. That wasn't an option in this case, either, because the home was powered by four individual electrical feeds from the pole, one feed for each floor, with little or no crossover. So, powerline networking kits worked beautifully on each floor, but could not establish fast connections between floors. I was at the point of telling the client that he was going to have to spring for an electrician to run Ethernet cables - an expensive proposition, because local building codes require metal conduit for this - when I found out about Eero. I decided to give that a try before recommending an electrician.
Eero is supposed to set up easily via the home's wired Internet connection and a smartphone. This part did not work the way it was supposed to, and I'm not sure if that was because of the AT&T Uverse connection (which provides this particular home with a very good connection, but maybe something on AT&T's end gets in the way), less than stellar cellular service or a bug in the Eero firmware that shipped with these units. In any case, I carefully followed the directions for plugging the Eero unit into the Uverse gateway, then got the Eero app on my Android phone, but the app could not find the Eero unit automatically. I ended up having to use the option for keying in the Eero unit's serial number; then, the app found it and set it up with no problem. I had the exact same problem with each subsequent Eero unit - I installed four, one on each floor of the house. As soon as each Eero unit began communicating with the system, the app recommended a firmware update for it, and due to the problems getting the initial connections set up, I allowed the app to go ahead and update each unit.
Once all the units were up and running, wi-fi throughout the house was terrific. The system does sacrifice some bandwidth - a wired connection directly to the UVerse gateway measured (with testmy.net) at just under 20Mbps, a connection to the gateway's built-in wi-fi measured about 14Mbps, and the wi-fi measured at any Eero unit was 10-12Mbps. Note that unlike some other "mesh" wi-fi systems, Eero units communicate with one another, not exclusively with the "base" unit, so bandwidth measured pretty much the same no matter where I was in the house as long as I was in range of an Eero unit. And although the signal degradation from the UVerse Gateway was significant (about 45%), wi-fi speed was still quite respectable, and reliability was solid. Without Eero, the best wi-fi connections I could get anywhere other than right in front of the UVerse gateway were under 5Mbps, and most connections measured elsewhere were spotty and yielded test results in kbps. The improvement was more than enough to make the homeowners happy.
Please note that the house in which I did this installation was of modern construction, which means the walls were made of drywall on wood or metal studs, and the floors were similarly fairly porous to wi-fi signals. The main issue for the owners was distance - the AT&T equipment was installed in the basement, and most of the need for Internet access was on the 3rd floor, and the cost of moving the equipment to a more sensible location was high. Eero might not work so well in buildings where the construction materials interfere with wi-fi signals. It would be interesting to see a test in a home that was expanded, and therefore has masonry blocking wi-fi signals to some rooms.

Great product! Having my modem in the second floor I had dead spots all over the first floor. I was receiving 15mbps downstairs while using my old router. When I installed the 3 eero's I had 50mbps all over the house! Really easy set up and app friendly!

When I moved into my new house, I was concerned about getting coverage throughout. The house is 3 stories and 5,500 square feet. I started off using several TP Link extenders. I spent several hundred dollars on them. They worked OK, but often would just drop the signal. My wife and kids often complained to me to fix the wifi so I had to look for something better. I came across eero and the concept of mesh wifi. It had just recently been released, but all consumer and magazine reviews were positive. The only hold back was the price. I finally took the plunge and bought the 3 pack and a single unit. I have two units on my main floor, one on the top floor, and one in the basement. I have excellent coverage throughout. When I do the speed test, I see no difference throughout the house. Now no more complaints. It's also nice that it automatically updates itself and it lets me know when it does it. If I didn't know any better, I'd expect it was something designed by Apple.

These new mesh wifi systems are 100% the easiest setup possible. Using the eero app was a breeze. The wifi blankets my 3k sq ft house with ease. Each hub has a LAN line out so you can set it up near a desk with a pc and have a LAN line directly to the PC while staying 100% connected to the computer. The ability to lock my children's devices after 9:00pm is worth the money in and of itself. Better and more discrete than other comparable systems. Can't recommend this enough. I don't give 5 star reviews lightly. This one deserves it no doubt.

I have been using the Eero's for about 3 months now. it replaced a router and a wifi extender. my wife and I no longer have any issues as we can seamlessly roam throughout the house from AP to AP (as you would at work!). the system took about 10 minutes to setup and was a breeze to install. would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone on the fence.

I bought Eero mainly to reduce dead spots in my house, but I was very pleasantly surprised by all the added parental features. To be able to control access for each individual device or group of devices has been awesome. Also knowing when the kids arrive home and leave (just looking at the app) has been an effective way to monitor teenagers who push the limits. And being able to do this while away from home is a huge benefit. The system was very easy to set up and has been a breeze to maintain. I finally have awesome speeds in my rec room and far reaches of the house. They keep adding features and investing in their product. I typically don't veer very far from Apple, but this time they made quantum leap ahead of my AC time capsule router. It doesn't even compare. 5 Stars to Eero!!!

This product was very easy to set up for a moderately capable user. A novice should ensure that someone with technical skills is available as a "just in case", but I don't see why even that is necessary as the setup is clear and succinct.
This is an excellent solution for those who are paying for an appropriate internet package with a reliable ISP who want a strong speed and signal throughout their entire house and beyond (depending on sq footage). It is easily a stronger solution than a traditional modem to router with extender option. If your current router provides plenty of speed and coverage for your house, then this is too much probably. But if you have even one extender (repeater), then you're losing out.
