    Excellent Performance,App Features are Paywalled

**⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4/5 – Excellent Performance, but App Features Shouldn’t Be Paywalled** I recently purchased the **eero Max 7 Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 Router (1-pack) in White**, and overall, I’m extremely impressed with its performance. The speed, stability, and coverage are easily among the best I’ve experienced. It delivers incredibly fast Wi-Fi throughout my home, handles multiple devices with zero lag, and sets up in just minutes. If you want strong, reliable Wi-Fi, this router absolutely delivers. That said, I do have one complaint: **the app’s advanced features are locked behind a paid subscription.** If you want content controls, activity monitoring, or any parental-type features, you must subscribe to **eero+**, which costs **$99.99 a year**. They give you two months free, but for a router in this price range, I feel like some essential controls should be included without an additional subscription. It would be great if eero offered at least a **basic free version** of monitoring or content management, especially considering this isn’t the cheapest router on the market. **Bottom line:** The hardware is fantastic and the Wi-Fi performance is top-tier, but the paywall on important app features holds it back from being perfect. If you’re looking for unmatched speed and coverage and don’t mind the subscription model, the eero Max 7 is an excellent choice.

Hi Dustin. Thank you for providing feedback about your experience with the eero Max 7 router. While I’m glad that you’ve been satisfied with the router’s performance, I also understand your frustration with the optional eero Plus subscription. eero Plus is a collection of premium networking features designed to enhance security and functionality of your eero network. In addition to offering several exclusive features that further upgrade your eero experience, eero Plus also includes access to services from our partners, such as password storage protection and VPN support. Much like eero, eero Plus will evolve and expand its feature set and capabilities over time. Your feedback is valuable for both potential customers and our product team. Have a great day! This router pretty much does everything that it list it can do on paper. I'm running two gaming PCs, consoles, and many other devices without any issue. The app is very intuitive and simple to use. Unlike the other eeros, this does have multiple of Ethernet ports on the back so you may not need a splitter. Only gripe with eero as a whole and the reason I'm not eating it 5 stars is because eero doesnt make it simple to split your 2.4 and 5ghz bands. This is a bit annoying especially with some smarthome devices that only run on 2.4 but despite that, no real issues on my side.

    Most Stable Mesh System

I’ve tried every other brand of mesh system, and by far, eero Max is the most stable. We have a 2,500 sq ft single story house with over 100 smart devices, cameras, tvs, laptops, phones and tablets. While no system is perfect this system has been stable and reliable. I would prefer more options to ‘tweak’ but I’m thankful for the stability. I have gig internet with Spectrum and I consistently get speeds over 900 on an iPhone and MacBook. In order to have the best coverage, 4 units were used throughout the house - moving then to different areas to balance the number of units per node. I like to keep 25-30 devices attached to each mode for best results.

    Best Router Ever

The EERO mesh system is by far the best on the market. I had the EERO PRO 2nd gen which I purchased seven years ago and it still worked really good, but I upgraded to fiber and I wanted a router that could give me those speeds plus more. When I added the new EERO 7 MAX I called the customer service and they told me all I had to do was add the new EERO 7 MAX nodes and then connect one of the new nodes to my modem after adding the new nodes to my existing network, it would then become the new gateway node. That was how I was able to replace my router without having to change my network, I get about 1.2gbps upload and download from the main router (Gateway node), and I get about 800mbps upload and download from the extending nodes.

As a tech guy that likes getting into complicated stuff to setup, this is way too easy. Added this as the third unit to my other two. At first I didn't have a cable to it connecting to the others so it setup via Wifi. Once I connected the Ethernet cable to it, it switched to a wired connection. Speed on these are good except I don't have anything WiFi 7 to test it.

After extensive research, I chose the eero max 7 3-pack and my only regret is not getting it sooner. I live in a 9,000sf old brick & stone 3 story house and the plan was to get a 4th max 7 to assure full coverage but I don’t think it’ll be necessary. These 3 units mesh seamlessly all throughout and it was very simple to install! Highly recommend it

Really robust for medium to large homes. Meant for gigabit speeds+, this really gives you great coverage and the speeds are consistent at a reasonable distance. If you add other mesh nodes, (at minimum any of the 6e models) you should have no dead zones and speeds are extremely consistent at every corner of your house. Every house is different so you’ll have to figure out the best coverage for yourself. Having one of these is great for a decent single family home. If you have 3+ floors recommend getting one of these, and the cheaper 6E nodes and put on centralized on each floor. If you got the money to spend get all WiFi 7 nodes and go all out.

I purchased this mesh system after upgrading my Google Fiber to an 8g package - with the understanding that it would be capable of reaching higher wireless speeds than the pack-in Google Fiber router I received. Overall, the speeds have not been faster (both routers hitting 1,400-1500 Mbps in close proximity to router and hub units, but I was expecting faster with some of my higher end (Apple) devices. Still, the range is more consistent than what came from Google. I rarely dip below 400 Mbps and most areas have at least 700-800. The only other minor annoyance is that I'm not able to distinguist 2.4, 5, 6 bands like I have with other routers. Overall, this was really easy to setup and I imagine I'll eventually see the full power these units promise as devices advance.

Hi Gstaff. Thank you for your feedback on the eero Max 7 system. I’m sorry to hear that you're not getting the speed that you expected. Strategically placing your eeros is the single most important step you can take to ensure your system provides fast, reliable WiFi to every room in your home. Here are some tips to follow: 1. Place eeros where they can talk to each other. 2. Place eeros on a hard, flat surface. 3. Keep your eeros out in the open. 4. Whenever possible, aim for direct line of sight between eeros. The fewer the walls between your eeros, the better. If this information doesn’t resolve your issue, call eero customer service at (877)659-2347. They’re available Monday-Sunday 6am-8pm PT. I hope this helps. Have a great day! AmazonDevices

I've gravitated toward Eero products for the past few years thanks to their ease of use while offering good set-and forget wifi performance. I am on gigabit fiber and I used a 3-pack of Eero pro 6 for the last 2 years with great reliability. The pro 6 gave me around 300-600mbps download speeds depending on location. My ISP recently offered 2 gig speed at a reasonable price and being the tech guy I am I decided to jump on it. I replaced my Eero pro 6's with these max 7's and I now get 600-1500mbps depending on location, and thats only on 6 or 6E devices. Once we get some native wifi 7 devices, we should see even faster speed. I also really appreciate the 2 10gb ports and the 2 2.5gb ports. Finally we have an Eero wifi device with ample wired options. You can have the satellite units (which are technically identical to the main router) wired or wireless. If you use wired ethernet to connect the other units, make sure you wire the other two units "downstream" of the main router unit. As with previous Eero products, these are very, very easy to set up. They use an app for everything and it uses the amazon cloud to provide continual data about your network that works the same regardless of if you're at home or not. You can see how much data each device is using and set various parental controls if desired. The app is well designed and easy to use. There aren't as many advanced wifi options as some expert users might want, but for those who want an easy option that works well, Eero is great. They are incredibly reliable and the max 7 appears to be no different. My main complaint about Eero systems have to do with the subscription to Eero plus. I used to have a $3/month one from them that provided extra functionality such as ad-blocking and other protections as well as more detailed data consumption and analytics. They had a $10/month tier as well which adds things such as 1password and a VPN service. Sadly, Eero discontinued the $3 tier and you now have to pay the $10/month even if you never want to use 1password or the other services. I wish Eero would bring back a cheaper subscription tier which doesn't have the extra services most won't use. For most users, the max 7 is overkill. If you have gig speeds or less, the pro 6 or pro 6e is good at a much lower price. But for those with a super fast fiber connection looking for an easy to use friendly app based wifi system, look no further.

Upgraded to the Eero Max 7 after owning the 6 Pro and the performance was night and day. I’m getting 1 G on Wi-Fi throughout my house on my Wi-Fi 6E and 7 devices. 5 and 2.4 GHz performance still leaves much to be desired, but overall worth it if you’re looking for a simple and reliable Wi-Fi setup.
