Ive had lots of routers over the years, this is the first i have felt that i didnt need a computer science degree to operate. Ihe Eeos 6 pro is much more consumer type user friendly. Setup was a breeze, well designed steps that walk you through the process. No lenghty manual needing an acronym translator to get through. A neat feature I appreciate is no more big long MAC address access tables, instead when a new device connects, you get an app notification. Way cool!
The 6 pro was a bit pricy, but i feel its worth it

I had the cox pods about nine of them but they didn’t work as well as the eero mesh system. Since i have installed them my internet has works 100 times better. My security system is working and not dropping the internet on them.

Upgraded from an earlier EERO Mesh system. The upgrade took less than 10 minutes, and I didn't need to change passwords or anything. Coverage rocks. Love this product line!!

I had two sets of expensive Netgear Orbi mesh systems fail on reliability working on occasion that I decided to leave that fan base and try another product. I was skeptical at first with EERO not having a web page interface and all being done with a phone app, I quickly realized this was certainly best for my needs for a modern era and most importantly, it just works and is reliable. All the speed boasted by others is no game if it is not reliable. The EERO Pro 6E mesh system is great and extremely fast with a set it and forget it mind set. Very easy set up and I can reliably tell who is connected to my system without the hassle of a web page interface. I will certainly upgrade to WiFi 7 when I have more devices that support it but for now, the EERO Pro 6E is a clear Winner !!! My entire network just works now, and I have no more problems trying to figure out if problems I previously had were device based or router based. Now, I know... I simply needed a superb router mesh system and EERO is it !!! Excellent !!!

We bought this system to help boost our existing Xfinity connection. Since moving to a more rural area our wifi connection became spotty and slower. The reviews were great for the Eero - Pro tri-band mesh system so we figured we'd give it a try. It has not disappointed. I work from home and since getting this system I haven't dropped my connection again. Much faster than we've ever had. We are very glad we bought this. We previously had the Nighthawk system which worked ok but this by far is much faster and dependable. I highly recommend it.

Totally fixed my intermittent disconnecting problems with my devices. Speeds are now downloading at the rate in which I pay for. It came with three devices and I’ve only used 2 and I have complete coverage over my whole house. I have centrally downstairs and the other centrally located upstairs and works perfect! EASY SETUP AS WELL!!

Future Proof Gigabit WiFi

I have used several mesh network setups over the last few years. The one I’ve been using has treated me well but it is a few years old so upgrading to the eero Pro 6E was intriguing since it supports 1.6 gigabits per second wifi connectivity and supports the 6GHz wifi band. Inside is a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 4GB flash storage. This eero also supports Zigbee so you can also use it as a smart home hub.
In the box you only find the 3 mesh nodes, usb c power adapters, and a setup card. The card simply instructs you to get the eero application to complete setup. A few seconds later I was ready to go after setting up an account. You can also use your Amazon account if you so chose. The app suggests shutting down your modem before connecting the first node via ethernet cable to modem. Then you just power on your first eero node and then your modem and then the app guides you through the setup. You have the option to name your network. If you have a bunch of devices it’s a huge timesaver to simply use your prior network name for eero. My first node was up and running in no time. The other 2 went just as smoothly as I placed them through my home. Total setup may have taken 20 minutes. I did get a firmware update notification once setup was complete. The eero nodes are sleek, fairly low profile and look unobtrusive. The eero Pro 6E with 3 nodes should provide coverage for 6,000 square feet. In my case this setup is more than adequate. One immediate disappointment during setup was that each node only has 2 ethernet ports, one 1 gbe port and and one 2.5 gbe port which is nice but other mesh systems I’ve used included more ports. You can alway add more with a switch but I’d prefer not having to resort to one.
The eero app is quite nice and user friendly. Here you can view all your connected devices and you can block devices if desired. You can also view connection speeds and see which nodes each of your devices are connected to. There are advanced networking setting too for port forwarding, DNS, DDNS, and DHCP & NAT. There is a parental control feature called Eero Plus but it is a monthly subscription service that costs $99 a year. When viewing each node in the app there is a great setting which allows you to adjust the brightness of each nodes status light which can be quite bright in a dark room.
After completing setup I was of course interested to check my WiFi speed. I currently have no wifi 6E devices but my devices are wifi 6. I have gigabit internet service so after a few speed tests I was thrilled to actually realize gigabit wifi for the first time in my home! Much better than my old setup. This was excellent but this was in the same room as the main node. As I moved to my second floor I was somewhat less impressed. When connecting to the third node I got about 300 gbs and I was not even that far away from the main node. Oddly worse than my old mesh setup. I’ve played with node placement without much improvement. Still quite fast however. With the eero Pro 6E I do feel future proofed as more 6E devices become available such the new iPad Pro which arrives next week. eero Pro 6E also supports over 100 connected devices so I’m covered as my network grows. Overall I’m quite pleased with the eero Pro 6E.

I upgraded from the Eero 6 Pro. I also updated my cable modem to get 2.5 GBPs. I liked that the app transferred my settings to the new router and additional access point. It was a truly seamless upgrade. The wireless speeds I’m seeing on my iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad Pro m4 is 1500 Mbps. The Black Friday sale at $259 made for an affordable upgrade. If you don’t have 6E devices, you could always use this hardwired or be ready for when you do.

This system replaced our previous mesh Wifi system which we were having issues with. With 4 kids all with their own electronic devices and a smart home, we have upwards of 80 devices connected. This system handles it all with ease. It's very easy to set-up via the intuitive app. The app is great as there is so much you can do with it such as monitoring your system, shutting off access to individual devices and monitoring new devices coming on to the system.

Best 6E Mesh System

The eero Pro 6E is the best mesh system out there. I used these to replace my ISP’s router and the range and speeds far exceed what was offered. They’re simple to setup, troubleshoot, and having Thread and smart home features makes it easy to integrate into my home. Checkout eero+ for some additional security features and apps as well!

The Eero system is very easy to setup and use. Just plug in and follow the steps on the app. My previous router kept going out. The Eero has improved the Wi-Fi coverage and speeds in my house tremendously. Being Wi-Fi 6E the 6ghz back channel is less crowded allowing the Eeros to communicate with each other better and free up bandwidth on the 5ghz and 2.4ghz channels for my devices.

Great wifi rounter. I know 6k sq ft of coverage sound like over kill but having no dead spots ia worth having more than you need. Speeds are great. I enjoy having 2 ethernet ports on each node. No lag when streaming or gaming! The app is very easy to use and you can easily manage your network even away from home.

Great Router, but Big Holes in Parental Controls

If you don’t have kids, this is a great mesh system at a great price point. Just buy it! It’s easy to set up and provides reliable connections. It gives you access to the uncongested 6GHz WiFi band at ¼ the price of a WiFi 7 router which 95% of folks will never need. Finally, it is super easy to configure everything in the app.
So, I was disappointed when I started setting up the parental controls and found two gaping holes. In fairness, I’ll say that this isn’t the only router with these problems. TP-Link’s routers have them and the Verizon router I tried was far worse. My old Netgear router didn’t have these holes, so I’ll likely return the eero and get an Orbi.
First and most importantly, there is no way to block VPNs. These days, most anti-virus software comes with a VPN utility. This is essential security when connecting to public WiFi networks, but on your home network, all a kid needs to do is turn on the VPN and they’ve bypassed all content filtering.
Second, there is no way to set default parental controls for all devices. Any device added to the network or joining with a different MAC address will have unrestricted access until it is manually assigned to a more restrictive Parental Control Profile. It’s ridiculously easy to change the MAC address on PCs and Macs, there is an app to change Android MAC addresses, and iPhone’s Private Relay creates a new MAC address every time it reconnects to a network. Also a visiting friend’s computer will default to no parental controls.
The parent should be able to set a default level of restrictive access, then move specific devices to less restrictive profiles as warranted. Most folks will not want to have to constantly monitor and assign devices on their network.
In the end, no amount of technology can replace actual parenting. However, the companies enabling the internet need to provide effective tools to help parents, especially those who don’t work in tech and wouldn’t know to even ask these questions.
I like sooooo much about this great mesh WiFi system. I just would like to see improvements to the parental controls so I can keep it.

The router gives us more speed than we need but we love it anyway! It gives us plenty of range for a decent sized house and we can now take full advantage of our internet plan through Xfinity/Comcast. It is on the pricier side and I would only recommend it to people who need a lot of speed or has a lot of gamers in their household.
