Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the ease of use, coverage, and setup of the Pro Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System. Many appreciate the improved range, performance, and signal strength, resulting in a better overall experience. However, some customers find the price to be expensive, and a few have noted that the units can get warm. While some buffering issues were reported previously, the system largely resolves these problems for most users.

Great speeds and performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me first start with my incoming internet speed. I have Comcast Xfinity Extreme Pro internet (600 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up). I switched from Xfinity cable to Youtube TV recently because I live in Richmond, VA (the best beer city in the world) and the only cable/internet option for my area of Richmond is Comcast and they do not carry the ACC Network. I have never rented Comcast equipment, so I packed up my Tivo Roamio and TV minis and am now watching TV through Apple TVs and Rokus. My house is a 3000 sf - 2 story colonial with a 2.5 car garage. I was running a Netgear R7800 (X4S) hidden in a cabinet below my wall mounted TV and my speeds at the far corners of the house were in the low teens and I was getting around 500 Mbps in the middle of the family room 5' from the router. I think having the X4S in a cabinet for years probably degraded its performance, but it is not something you want out in the open in the family room, which is where my cable enters the house through the most direct route and my modem is set. My need for fast internet at all corners of the house had me buy and compare the 2 mesh systems that received the most favorable user reviews - Google Nest WiFi and Eero Pro 3 Pack. The Google Nest WiFi test results and my thoughts on set up and user experience… I had the Nest setup for 3 days and setup through the Google Home app was simple, yet I was not a big fan of the user interface with the Google Home app. I would appreciate a stand-alone app for the Nest WiFi system to more easily track system performance, settings, and device management. That being said I’ll share the most important information - performance. My incoming speeds to the main router were around 700 Mbps down and 18 up on average. I set the main router in the first floor family room on the cabinet below the wall-mounted TV (slightly off center for the house layout), one point router in my upstairs office (almost directly above the main router), and the other point router in the bonus room (down the hall above the garage). Speeds - Family room 5’ from main router (575 Mbps down 16 Mbps up), Master bedroom far corner of the house upstairs (475 Mbps down 15 Mbps up), Office upstairs slightly off middle of the house (334 Mbps 14 Mbps up), Bedroom upstairs on the other side of middle of the house (232 Mbps down 14 Mbps up), Bonus room above garage at the far end of the house (125 Mbps down 14 Mbps up), Garage (119 Mbps down 14 Mbps up). That was all good performance relative to the poor speeds I was getting at the far corners of the house from the X4S. The Eero Pro 3 Pack test results and my thoughts on set up and user experience… I’ve had the Eero Pro 3 pack set up for 2 days and am returning the Google Nest WiFi. Eero setup is a snap through the app and was done in 10 minutes. The app is straightforward and slick and you can easily see all of the devices connected to each pro router. I set up all of my Eero pros is the same spots I set up the Nest main and point routers. I like that you can easily turn off the LED lights on the routers so they are even more incognito. As with the Nest, my incoming speeds to the main router were around 700 Mbps down and 18 up on average. Now for the important part… Speeds -Family room 5’ from main router (601 Mbps down 18 Mbps up), Master bedroom far corner of the house upstairs (595 Mbps down 18 Mbps up), Office upstairs slightly off middle of the house (498 Mbps 17 Mbps up), Bedroom upstairs on the other side of middle of the house (378 Mbps down 17 Mbps up), Bonus room above garage at the far end of the house (334 Mbps down 16 Mbps up), Garage (278 Mbps down 16 Mbps up). I love the aesthetics of the Eero Pro routers and the Nest are also nice. I chose to keep the Eero Pro 3 Pack and return the Nest WiFi because of the performance and ease of use of the Eero app. I know the system is more expensive, but for me the difference is worth it to get consistent speeds at points farthest from the modem. One other note. If you have any devices that can only connect to 2.4 ghz… I suggest renaming your current router SSID and setting the password to whatever you want to use for the Eero or Nest and connecting those to your 2.4 ghz band before setting up your new mesh system. That’s what I had to do for my garage door opener with MyQ and my LG washing machine and dryer. They are successfully connected to my Eero network now. Hope this review helps.

Finally!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried the linksys wrt1900ac, tried the netgear, the asus, the new linksys gamer. The Apple was actually the best but coverage at the other side of the house defied RF physics... not the fault of the AirPort Extreme. It was the best but lack of features at that price :-( Now to the EERO. Phone app? Simply awesome! The coverage is 5 out of 5. Most impressive I can get the EXACT same speed from my furthest AP as from the closest to the modem. Reassociation to another AP is QUICK. Zero lag. I’ve payed for the beta ad blocker. All the rest need to borrow this feature. Expensive but I find it well worth it... they do give a 30 day trial which I will not cancel. Just too awesome. New features to come in Dec they say. I’m sincerely LOOKING for something to complain about after about 45 days (except that darn sticker price) :-)

Expensive - but, Wow!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently had to switch providers due to customer service issues. The geek squad guy at best buy recommended the eero products after convincing me this wireless would be faster than my old wired setup. Set up was a breeze - the cable installer had never seen the eero, so we walked through it together. It took about 10-15 minutes to get all three working, They have been running solid for about a month. I've noticed no slowdown, no dropping, no need for reboots. Better than any router I've used. Coverage is great - we have one eero staggered on each floor of the house. I have two 8 port switches wired to two of the nodes. The amount of cable I was able to get rid of was amazing.

Choppy and not worth the $$
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It did well for one month, but has been choppy after that. The internet connection drops and comes back every 5 minutes or so. Mobiles and laptops are particularly affected. For other devices like tv, etc., it takes multiple attempts to connect. In order not to disrupt all the devices. I connected some devices directly to lan and they worked fine. I was working with folks from support who did a diligent job in analyzing this but things didn’t improve. Came here to start the return, but looks like I missed the window by 10 days. So putting this review here. Definitely not worth $500 I shelled out for this.

AWFUL RELIABILITY AND STABILITY !!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK !!!!! I've owned this for 4 months. The speed, performance, reliability, and stability are just not there. Multiple reboots every single day just to check emails. I just now reviewed the Software Update History (I'm only allowed to attach 6 photos) and nearly every single one of the updates from 1.0.2 all the way to 6.4.0 involve "Stability" and "Performance" improvements. How many updates do they need in order to get it right ???!!! DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK !!!!!

Amazing Router/Wifi that improves itself
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the tri band system for 2 or 3 years. It is over the top awesome. I used to have to reboot modems, routers, etc., but new ones every two years (very expensive ones) and still had issues. The eero updates itself every night and I have not ever had to reboot. Twice i had issues with it, called their incredible support and did not wait long on hold, and they showed me it wasn't the eero, it was my device i was trying to connect. And they were nice enough to help me set up these new devices. I read about all of these people asking if they have Spectrum, ATT, North State etc. which one works, which one does not. In my opinion, they all work, you just need a Eero hooked up to them. I used to have 5 or 10 people over and people complained they couldn't get on the wifi i paid a lot of money for. with eero, i'll have 25 people, plus 30 to 40 home devices on it and no one complains. It also blocks a lot of threats etc. Updates itself, and has great speed and coverage. I have a 4,000 square foot home, two levels. I have one at each end of the house, one up, and one down, and one in the middle of the house. so get great coverage in my house and yard. I would normally be looking to buy a more upgraded router by now, but not with the eero, it just keeps improving itself. I also have it test the speed of my connection once a day and it keeps a record i can use with the carrier if i ever have an issue. Great app that allows you to control all kinds of things. It has guest access, etc. The newer ones allow you to use Alexa to turn guest access on and off, and do other things.

Great Product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Eero Pro Mesh equipment is fast, reliable, secure and easy to setup. It also can be remotely managed, via the phone-based admin app. If you have setup questions, the Support Staff is easy to reach (located in Texas), fluent in English, well informed and helpful. I'm an integrator and install allot of Eero Pro eqmt for my residential customer-base. I use it because it's good equipment AND because it is small in size, with an attractive design that blends well with house hold decor. The only residential product that is as good (IMHO) is the Orbi AC-3000 Mesh. The Orbi product has a slightly better range, is more configurable and also offers an outdoor rated WiFi range Extender. I believe the Orbi AC-3000 range is slightly better because the Orbi devices are larger in size than the Eero Pro devices and may have a slightly larger antenna array Eero, if your listening, you need to immediately add an outdoor-rated range extender to your product line or Orbi will eat your lunch! The outdoor range extender should operate in either wired or wireless mode and include an Ethernet Jack that can be disabled for security reasons, through software settings, when the device is configured for wireless operation.

Now Getting Network Throughput I am Paying For
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The eero access points are indeed delivering a solid 60 MPS (which happens to be the network speed I am paying the cable company for). While the setup for eero is simple enough. However, I did need to call tech support. I (and tech support) did advise that when installing the second and third eero, have those devices in the same room as the first eero that is hooked to your modem or cable modem. I live in a single story home that is long (about 80 feet). Routers/extenders proved quite troublesome as the number of devices grew and the type of devices were added (Amazon fire stick [multiple TVs], Wii -- viewing NetFlix, etc.) Buffering or just plain stopping, dropping, and rebooting the router was happening all of the time. Since the installation of the eeros, no buffering and no drops.. The eeros: -->One is a gateway -- connected to your model/cable modem -->The other two are access points -->my eeros are running on 192.168.7.xxx -->This network is where the DHCP addresses are originating My Arris SBG6900ac is issuing DHCP addresses using 192.168.0.xxx. I could have turned this off - but I did not. While an excellent cable modem, the SBG6900ac just did not provide a strong signal in the 'back' bedroom (about 60+ feet away). I was seeing 5, 10, 12 MPS. I cannot understate how disappointing it was to experience the drops / buffering / reboots.... Now with the eeros, multiple streaming devices can run without any sign of a 'blip.' Other devices (ipads, iphones) perform without any 'hitches.' Yes, this eero arrangement is expensive ($465); but I was looking at more powerful routers which would have been (probably) approaching $300 - $400. So, for an 'additional' amount, network signal strength is consistent throughout the house.

Excellent coverage and operation, VERY expensive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a huge coverage problem with an 80 year house, 2200 sq feet, lathe and plaster walls, some walls with wire mesh for the plaster, with 2 floors. Read all kinds of reviews online for the last 6 months and had a neighbor recommend this unit. Got the three-unit Eero Pro package in case I needed to use Ethernet cable for the back-haul. Bought and installed this (making sure I could return it if it did not work out ok) I am somewhat tech savvy. VERY easy to install and set up. Used all three of the Eero Pro units in the package. Remember, placement is critical for best reception, you may have to move units around for best connectivity. What works in my house may not work for you. I am awed by the difference in performance. I now have GREAT reception in all the corners of my house where I had none or 1 bar before. I am now getting full use of the speed from my AT&T fiber service. In the corners of my house, getting 300 Mbps up and down (yes, that was 300 Mbps!). I am just using the tri-band wireless reception between the Eero units, NOT using an Ethernet cable to connect them for the back-haul. Spouse and kids are HIGHLY impressed, can stream to 4 laptops, 4 cell phones and 2 smart TVs at once with no issues. Have had it up and running for over a month now. The Eero app on my iPhone works great. Loved the set-up, love the operation and performance, only issue I have is the cost. Zowie, 500 smackaroos for the three-unit Eero Pro package! (then add CA state sales tax of 10% on top of of that!) BUT, it does work great and completely resolved the WiFi reception issue in my house. Glad I made the purchase, just wish it was WiFi 6 capable. Would give it 5 stars if it were not for the expense for a non WiFi6 unit, so only gave it 4 stars.
