Customers are pleased with the ease of use, coverage, and setup of the Pro Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System. Many appreciate the improved range, performance, and signal strength, resulting in a better overall experience. However, some customers find the price to be expensive, and a few have noted that the units can get warm. While some buffering issues were reported previously, the system largely resolves these problems for most users.

Great mesh system for my Ethernet-wired home

I was an early customer of the first gen eero system and jumped at the chance to upgrade to their new system. As you would expect, it's faster than the first gen, the hardware feels nicer (even though it looks the same), and it was really easy to set up. I love that im able to Ethernet wire the gateway and a satellite eero, but also have another eero connect wirelessly to cover a dead spot in our master bedroom. Great product, beautiful, highly recommend. I wish it had VPN and IPv6 support, but I suppose it's possible to add those later.

This was the easiest router I've ever set up in my life. The app is absolutely user-friendly and allows you to throttle or turn off devices as needed when your kids spend too much time on the internet. The three different modules provide Superior coverage in your residence and property. I have one of my basement my main level and the upstairs and each one acts independently so that all these devices are not funneled into one router. With all the devices in the house connected to the internet this system actually helped with speed and lag. It is pricey but the Simplicity the connectivity and the ease-of-use makes it all the better then your normal Netgear or Linksys Standalone router. I dumped by Netgear Nighthawk for the system and have not regretted it for a minute.

For me, a mesh system was the right choice.
Yes these are a bit pricey, but when you rely on your WiFi for all your devices including your security cameras, it's well worth it.
With the Eero Pro Mesh WiFi System ( 3 Eeros ), I now have strong signal both inside and outside my house. This system covers my entire property and beyond. I am able to move anywhere on my property without any lagging or dropouts. It also resolved my video / audio sync problems I was having with certain streaming services.
This system was a breeze to install. It took longer to unpack the box than it did to set up.
I read many reviews on many other mesh systems and unlike other systems reviewers reported , I have never had to reset this system, even after power outages. This system has always come right back to working without any problems.
If you are looking for powerful, stable and dependable WiFi, this is a great system.

After much research, I finally bit the bullet and bought the eero Pro WiFi System. I had done a lot of research, and even more waffling, about moving away from my many-years-old Apple Airport Extreme setup. It has served us well but was behind the times, both in technology (even with two Extremes and a couple of Expresses (Expressi?) we had dead spots) and software (which the Airport App could administer updates & restart the base stations, as well as show connections, it couldn't do anything else, really).
(FWIW, I went with the Pro (three full eeros) rather than the other options (eero + 2 beacons, eero + 1 beacon, etc.) as I have a two-story house with a lot of walls and distance, and knew this'd offer the best coverage for the size/shape of my home. Incidentally, if you get a "lesser" system and need more, adding more eeros (for more coverage) is quick & simple.)
The eero system offered everything I was hoping for from an Apple Airport updated release: a mesh-based wifi setup (no more dead spots) and exemplary software (administerable via iOS app for me; of course there's an Android app as well). It also features a very minimalist design & profile (something I very much liked about the Airport, tall though it was), and looks quite nice wherever placed.
Setup was quick after downloading the eero app, and walks you through each step. I don't remember much about it because there wasn't much to it. About 15 minutes after opening the box, I was pretty much done.
I did have a hiccup in that my initial speeds after installation were quite slow -- but slow enough for me to realize it was likely a software issue. Sure enough, a software update followed a day later, and my speeds were up to snuff. (I am on Comcast's 150Mbps tier, and I routinely show high volume speeds just above that, with overnight tests showing about 180Mbps.)
Parents will like the Profile feature in the app -- I set up a profile for each member of the household, and added their respective devices to it (anything that connects to the eero can be added to the profile; computers, handhelds, game systems, etc.). If someone needs a break (for whatever reason), you can pause their access to the network.
There's also a "Guest Access" option (which I've not had call to use yet) to allow someone to temporarily access your network.
eero Plus is something I'm investigating next; it's essentially a digital security suite, offering VPN, 1Password (great app!), and anti-virus, ad blocker, ability to create a kid-safe network, etc. It's a $9.99/mo or $99/year service. More info at the eero site.
All in all, though a big outlay cost-wise (thanks BestBuy for the 12 mos same as cash option, though!), the whole household is very happy and data is streaming along. No more dead spots, no more slow downs (except those caused by Comcast themselves), and easy administration.

I have spent considerable time and effort in numerous venues, tech sources, online raters, tech journals, Consumer Reports, Best Buy, and Amazon, researching routers and particularly mesh systems.
I have over the years used different brands and grades of routers, and while some perform fairly reliably, others have not. I had one that was advertised with a “lifetime guarantee”, so at the time I thought that I could buy with some degree of confidence, however, when it died within a year, and the company refused to honor their guarantee, i found that their guarantee was worthless. To me, that meant that the company itself was worthless.
The router that I had currently was working okay, but although our home is not particularly large, 2600 square feet in two levels, even though it was centrally located, the router’s range was a bit lacking, and its app proved completely unable to connect with the router. That meant that when I had to restart it to its original factory settings, that I had no way to ensure secure settings, and in addition the default password was “password”, certainly a less than desirable security setting. But given that that app refused to connect, I could not access the router or its settings to make any changes. Finally, the manufacturer’s customer support was nonexistent, and even the community was of little if any help.
So, given the situation, it was time to look elsewhere.
My objectives and priorities were as follows starting from most important:
1. Service & Support
2. Reliability
3. Performance
4. Range
From my research I found that there were numerous manufacturers that had routers or mesh systems that performed well to varying degrees, some with performance that were rated very highly.
Many had good range, again to varying degrees, although for some, performance dropped off drastically as you got farther away from the router.
Some seemed reliable enough, but again to varying degrees, many seemed to be plagued with various bugs and othe issues.
But perhaps the most important thing was that most companies really didn’t give much support, if any. And often, if they did give support, it was lacking in timeliness, sometimes taking days, weeks, or even months before responding to their customer’s concerns. Things can go wrong with any product, it happens, and it can’t be expected that everything will always work perfectly 100% of the time. But when the inevitable happens, will the company stand with their customer, and do everything humanly possible to help.
That is the kind of company I was looking for, and I believe I found it in eero. Their mesh system performs very well by all accounts, and I have found that to be very much so, it has excellent range, again confirmed in my experience, and all reviews show it to be a very reliable mesh system. But most important of all, the company stands with their customers when the inevitable glitches happen, or even if it’s just a matter of technical help needed by the novice. I am very competent technically, not at all a novice, but eero’s customer support is there, they stick with their customers, so I’ll stick with them! Awesome is the word!

I was using the traditional router and WiFi extenders, which would fail a lot of the time. I did do a lot of googling for research to get the best system. Every article writer had the favorite, but from everything that I was finding was leading me toward this system. The price is high, but what I learned was I get what you pay for. This is by far the best system. Set up was easy, they walk you through it, assist with the placement of the routers. There's a lot of features from parental control, to the speed test for downward and upward. There routers are neat and not bulky like some other systems, they use tri-band so the routers can talk to each other with no issues. 3000 sq ft house never had internet like this prior. MONEY WELL WORTH SPEND.

After previously having an Asus router and a Luxul Router (without any additional access points), I decided I wanted to try something new, especially since my family was saying stuff about the 5 GHZ band dropping on both of those routers. I decided to get this Eero pro system and have not regretted it. One of these units covers almost my entire house (about 2600 square feet) with one other finishing the job. The third went into my brother's room so he could hardwire his xbox into it. I'm even getting a signal further out into the yard than I was before.
I have noticed no decrease in speeds between the access points, and we have been able to stream on either end of the house without an issue. With my computer hardwired into the main one, I'm obviously having no issue with connection. My dad's and brothers' computers are connected to wifi and they have no problem gaming online or watching videos/netflix at the same time.
If I had to choose again, I would definitely go for another Eero system (unless I had the money and ethernet for a Luxul or Rukus system).

This is the second eero system that I have set up. I first installed it at my parents' house to facilitate their TiVo mini's need to have an ethernet connection no where near the computer. It worked very well for that - although, it took me a couple of tries to get a couple of the boxes to connect, I eventually got the white light. Since then, I added another module in the garage quite a ways from the house and it worked well to extend wi-fi to security cameras out there. I was surprised that it works as well as it does since the garage has steel doors. I've since installed a setup at my much smaller house to get better coverage out on the porch and, again, it worked well - the modules connected much more easily this time. I would recommend to anyone looking for a mesh system.

The eero routers have been working flawlessly for me after having router troubles with at least 3 different router brands for many years. I purchased the pro router after installing 3 of the regular eeros because I needed to move one of them to the garage for better coverage to cameras and door opener. The pro replace my gateway eero router, since it is the one with more power. (Follow steps in support article to replace the gateway.) In hindsight it may have been better to get all pro models, but it works well this way, and the pro is more expensive. Also note that eero is soon releasing another even faster version. I recently upgrade my speed with Xfinity. Now I'm consistently getting speeds of 250 to 300 Mbps! Love the eeros!

The Eero Pro mesh system does a fine job providing good signal strength and total coverage both upstairs and downstairs in my 3100 square foot home for all my devices. It’s definitely a more reliable setup compared to the wifi access point system I previously owned. The setup process was a breeze with all the step by step instructional videos. I highly recommend this system if you’re on the fence. The only downside is the price, but once you see your internet speeds, you’ll forget about it quickly.

I cut the cable and began to just stream television. I have a 1900 square foot bi-level home. I now have 26 devices connected to my wifi.
I had a Netgear Nighthawk AC1700 that was struggling a bit to keep up with all the devices and usage. My internet speeds are 200 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload. So my internet speeds were just fine.
I went to Best Buy and bought a bigger, faster Wifi router to handle more devices and streaming. I bought a Netgear Nighthawk X6S AC4000. I wasn't impressed after hooking it up. I was having connection problems and the signal actually seemed worse than my older Nighthawk I was replacing.
I called Netgear and after some adjustments to the channels the stability got a little better. I still was having some stability issues but paying $317.00 total for the router I felt this should be holding it's own much better.
So I called Best Buy in home support and spoke with Ezekiel. He suggest I look into the EERO PRO MESH WIFI system. He spoke with me about it and gave me a little education on it. So I looked into it more researching it on the internet and Best Buy site.
After looking into the EERO system I decided to take back the Nighthawk X6S AC4000 and try this EERO PRO MESH system. All I can say is WOW! SUPER easy to set up. As soon as you open the box, the few written directions to get you started then download the EERO App. Once this is done you plug the EERO and the cable modem back in and the rest is history.
I'm by no means an I.T specialist, but I am a little tech savvy. What I can say is even someone that is completely ignorant to tech can set up and work this system. Also the signal and speeds of the router is OUTSTANDING! I've never had a wireless system work so perfect and seamlessly.
I would definitely recommend this system to family, friends, coworker's and anyone else I would speak with about a Wireless Router and Mesh Net system.

Don't let the price tag of this system discourage you, it is worth every single penny. We recently upgraded our internet speed from 100mbps to 1GB. Our company supplied both a new modem and router, but we substituted their router with this Eero Pro Mesh system and it consistently gives us 940-980mbps download speed. The beacons can be placed around your home to give you a consistently strong Wi-Fi signal and it is a smart system...it will also switch your signal from beacon to beacon as you move around the house to maintain the best signal strength for you. The Eero app is very user friendly and easy to understand and use. You can name each bacon and personal device that you want to connect to your WiFi network and monitor its usage. You can make Profiles for each family member and group their devices together and make blanket restrictions for them, such as using safe filters for their internet viewing. This system will also run scans for threats and viruses and malware and automatically block them and alert you if a website you click on is not secure. This has been one of our best purchases we've ever made, and has proven to be able to withstand the download demands of our household...from 2 units playing World of Warcraft at the same time, while having the XBOX on and our phones connected and our Amazon 4K Firestick running. No lag issues, no disconnect issues, and everything loads so quickly, it's unbelievable. This will be a WiFi system that will be sticking around for many years. It's a wonderful investment if you can get past the sticker price. I highly recommend Eero and their WiFi system.

I have had 3 of the first generation Eero for years and things didn’t seem right so I decided to try Googles WiFi. That was a mistake and returned Google WiFi and went back to eero.
I bought one pro (this unit) and one of the cheaper eero’s. Wow! They worked great. Easier to set up then Google and faster then Google.
Eero also has great customer service. I am happy with eero. By the way I have subscribed to the eero plus service mainly for the OnePass family subscription. You don’t need eero plus but I have had it for years and use OnePass all the time; so I find its worth the extra money.

Most of my family now has these in their home. Super easy to use, if you have less than 350 Mbps internet, the cake functionality helps keep the latency down. Devices transfer from node to node with no issues. Each node has 2 ethernet ports that work flawlessly. We literally get 300+ on any device throught the 2500sq ft of my house and well over 100 outside on the patio or in back yard.

I have 2500 square foot house and I had a router at one end and the signal would intermittently drop at the other end. I tried new routers, extended range, nothing work. I setup the EERO and 10 minutes all my problems were gone. I am an IT guy and this was the easiest thing ever to install. You don't need any technical skills other than plugging the device in to your cable modem and outlet. I am also using a NETGEAR ethernet switch wired into the EERO for my hardwire connections.
I have had it for 1 month and NO problems. I have a strong signal in spots were I use to have barely any.
You won't go wrong purchasing the EERO and you will throw away your old router in a few minutes.

We replaced the existng Asus AC1900 with this setup and now have excellent coverage upstairs and downstairs! I did not realize how much the router setup held back the internet speeds all over the house.
This is the second gen unit which has the dedicated backhaul for wireless connectivity. The dedicated backhaul allows the units to communicate at the highest speed without using any the 2GHz or 5GHz bands reserved for our devices.
Setup was relatively quick and easy. As a techie, I wish the configuration presented more options. You can have only one name and guest network that covers both bands. Typically, I limit the guest network to the 2.4 GHz band to limit speed and minimize traffic for all our devices on 5GHz band. These units self-manage which band the devices are on.
I do like the grouping feature that allows you to control different sets of devices by groups. For example, we put the childrens devices in one group to control when the internet can be used on them. We put the streaming devices into another group.
In one area we plugged multiple devices into a 5 port gigabit switch that plugs into the eero’s ethernet port.. All devices have fast internet connections when used at the same time.
We have a VOIP phone setup and the eero does not currently support QOS. That’s okay for now as we don’t use it a lot; it was simply cheaper than maintaining a landline.
Glad we made this purchase. We did not pay extra for the eero subscription to access some advanced features that we don’t need. I hope more configuration options are exposed in future firmware updates. If we need to use the VOIP phone more, than I will have to look into one of the other Mesh networks that do support QOS... or better support sitting behind a router that can give us QOS.

Was debating between Eero Pro Mesh and Orbi 3 channels and settled with Eero pro mesh. No regrets. My home total space is about 3400 sq ft, split into 2.5 floors + basement. With this system, at least through now (3 weeks since purchase), I have full signal in most commonly used spaces. At the edge of my backyard, which is approximately 50ft away from the closest Eero, I get 3 strong bars still. No regrets so far. My internet speed is 200mbps down and 6 mbps up and across all 3 Eero, my speed is ~140-150mbps down and 6 mbps up. Time of testing is usually midnight for me.
The app has very nice finishing touch. It let you know what's connected, and to which Eero. You can also assign a name to the connected device and assign an Eero profile if you want to. This really helps me organize and control things.
Installation, a breeze. Took me about 20 minutes including firmware updates for each Eero.
Special setup which worked well for me, is I configured my old time capsule to broadcast 2.4ghz wifi as some devices like my older ring doorbell will not connect on 5 ghz. The time capsule was configured as bridge and wired ethernet to the main Eero. Works like a charm, and I can still continue to perform my automated backup to time machine without any changes required.
Hope this helps.

Purchased this to replace three Linksys Velop extenders that is had for four months. The Velop system worked great until I updated my iOS, which blew away login credentials and made the Linksys app unusable. Customer service is practically nonexistent, which led me to the eero.
The eero system was a breeze to setup (about 10 mins out of the box). Haven’t experienced any of the periodic disconnection issues I had with the Velop system (which has some known stability kinks). Speeds are consistently a bit faster than I had with the Velop system (with the extenders in the same placement as the old Velop units) and the coverage is fantastic. The app appears to function well. Much more aesthetically pleasing than the bulky Velop towers. They do run a little warm, so I elevated each unit using silicone feet I purchased for a song at Bed Bath & Beyond. Glad to relegate the Velop system to the attic... this is a perfectly competent replacement. Highly recommended.

My home is two-story, 3,400 sq. ft. and the modem and router are in the upstairs master bedroom closet in the rear of my home. I had a wifi extender in a front room on second floor to extend wifi coverage to both upstairs and downstairs front rooms. The coverage worked fine but once I bought a Ring floodlight camera for my back driveway, I could not get signal to that area. I thought I was just going to buy another wifi extender, but a very helpful salesman at Best Buy directed me towards a mesh wifi system. He patiently answered all my questions and the eeros pro is the one I purchased.
I am very happy with it. It was extremely easy to set up. I am not tech savvy so this was important to me. One unit replaced my previous router and the other two are in other rooms in my upstairs. I now have excellent wifi coverage throughout my house and also outside. I especially like that I do not have to select a different network such as 2ext or 5ext when I move around my home with a mobile device. I also no longer experience buffering on a couple smart TV's that were connected to the extended network with the previous wifi extender.
It also offers some protection. Using the eeros app on my iPhone, I can see what devices are connected to which eeros unit, if the signal is good and I get notified if a new device has connected to my network.
