    Mini-Review: My early impressions at an hour or two in were mixed. I loved the Max Payne vibe and the intentional low-poly, low-texture PS1/PS2 throwback art style where the protagonist's face is just a blurry texture on a simple shape, but I was less enamored by the short-ish and same-ish levels that didn't feel at all like the adventure I expected. Knowing the praise it got as a PC exclusive, I wanted to stick with it; and now I get it. Ostensibly the story of an addict trying to save the world from the lord of vampires (incidentally, also his ex), the narrative goes places and has subtext that I'd be remiss to spoil in a review. Suffice it to say it's thoughtful and impactful. On top of super-smooth third-person melee and shooting action are a swath of difficulty options. This game is great.
