Great Speakers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is actually for my second pair of Elac B6.2 speakers. My first pair was slated for surround duty, but I liked them so much, I moved them to the front. I purchased the Elac F6.2 speakers for the front, but unfortunately, they ended up being too large for my small home theater room. While I loved the sound of the F 6.2's, I returned them and exchanged them for another pair of B 6.2's. I now have the 6.2's at all four corners with the Elac C 5.2 center channel and two subwoofers and am completely happy with the sound of my system. These are fantastic speakers and deserve to be auditioned if you're in the market for new speakers. They compare well to speakers costing way more than what these are going for. Catch them on sale, and it's no contest . Listen for yourself. Highly recommended.

Good Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had these for about a month now and just did the room calibration with my Pioneer receiver. There was no significant change and since they sounded fine to start that's a good thing. I don't have "golden" ears, maybe silver, so my opinion is just that. Your mileage may vary. The speakers don't seem to have any coloration, the music sounds the way it should - the way the producer intended. I listen mostly to classical and jazz which makes transparency the prime criteria for speakers. And having bought them on sale at half off, they were almost a steal!

What a Great Deal!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two years ago I bought the original ELAC Debut B6 for full price. I got a great set of speakers that sounded even better when played loud. At Christmas time last year I saw that the new B6 2.0 was on sale for half price. I couldn’t resist buying. These are even better than the old ones. More high end and bass. I have them paired with a Pioneer receiver from the 70’s. They love power. I think they are fine without a sub. Great deal at full or half price!!

Excellent and impresive set of speakers
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these to replace my Energy 4" fronts in my living room home theater. I have been quite impressed with the sounds and how these handle even the lows. I have setup the crossover on the receiver with my sub but they truly handle lows almost without a sub. Very impressive! Love these - now looking for the Elac matching sub!

Budget Hi-Fi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During my foray into the world of vinyl, I realized that the Edifier speakers I bought for my budget turntable system wouldn't cut it. After much research, I settled on Elac Debut, and am very happy with these bookshelf speakers. The highs are crisp and the lows are boomy, but still relatively tight for a ported assembly. I've tried them out with everything from Frank Sinatra to Metallica and am very pleased. Sturdy plugs in the back. I would've preferred a magnetic grill, but the supplied ones are still good. If you were going to use these for home theatre, I would recommend adding a subwoofer.

Excellent for Price point
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers are very good. They are rich enough in the Bass even being driven by 30-35 watts. Kudos to Elac for their design and price point achievement. If being driven by a decent source, you’ll hear the highs and most importantly, they are Musical and dynamic. Test them against others and you’ll hear for yourself.

Great all-around speakers!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these for my daughter to take to college. Sound quality in mid and high frequencies is crystal clear. These speakers also have surprisingly strong bass for relatively small speakers so no subwoofer is needed. Would strongly recommend these.

Excellent speakers for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Elac 2.0 6.2 improve on the original sound of the Debut series by having more detail, extended highs with more (tighter) bass. The 2.0 are a cleaner sounding speaker with more detail and a deeper sound stage. Elac speakers are a great choice!

Fantastic for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was on sale for $200 so it was truly a no brainer. It is a larger bookshelf so hopefully you have room for it. The port is in the front, so you do not have to give it as much space from the back wall as the previous version. Give it some time to break in and it will sound fantastic!

Didn't live up to the hype
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a lot of the other reviews here, and even heard good things from a friend. I picked these up on sale at a big discount. I was looking for something with forward-facing ports so that I could actually put them on a bookshelf, and these were the right size. I liked the look and feel of these speakers. Very clean looking, and felt like good build quality. I really wanted to like these, but these sounded exactly the same to me as the speakers they would be replacing. (literally 1990s era AIWA bookshelf speakers - don't get me wrong, these are good for their age!) I have a Yamaha Aventage A660 driving these, and used new 16 gauge cables for the ELACs, compared to the super thin, built-in wires for the old AIWAs. It should have been night and day. At first I thought I must have been missing something, so I pulled my Klipsch RP-160Ms off the wall to test side-by-side. Night and day difference. Unfortunately the RP-160Ms are huge and the ports are in the back. Now granted, I didn't break these in. I played with them at different volumes for a few hours, but in the end I just returned them. The treble clarity just wasn't what I was hoping. I might have kept them if they weren't replacing something of similar sound quality. They're really not bad, just not as good for me as everyone else made them seem in the reviews.

Excellent value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speakers perform and look at a level that exceeds their cost. If they are being used primarily for music bass is quite satisfactory not requiring a sub. For movies a sub would certainly enhance the experience. Vocals are well presented. Instruments are not as defined as higher quality speakers would present. All in all a wonderful value in an easy to live with and enjoy speaker.

Great entry into better stereo sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are called bookshelf speakers but they can function as much more in a small enough room. I use them in my bedroom, the lows tend to roll off at around 45-50 HZ but they are punchy. I get verified 19000KHZ out of them, couldn't verify anything higher because 19K is as high as I can hear. The soundstage is good and the lows, miss and highs are punctuated and not muddy or hard to place. I added a sub to fill out the lower frequencies that were missing, but you really don't need one for every day use. I bought a cheap Sony receiver to power them, which I regret, but have my sights set on a better amplifier in the near future to get the most out of these speakers.

Version 2.0 Is Even Better!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Elac Debut 2.0 bookshelf speakers are better than their first edition, which I also own. Both versions have very good sound with smooth highs and excellent bass for their size. The 2.0’s seem to have an added seamless smoothness that the earlier version does not quite have. They are just a bit better all around speakers than their predecessors. I can easily recommend them to anyone looking for bookshelf speakers without spending a large sum of money for them.
