If you’re looking to record or stream gameplay in stunning quality, the Elgato Game Capture 4K X delivers pro-grade performance in a plug-and-play package. Its HDMI 2.1 support and 4K up to 144 fps capture let you capture crisp, high-frame-rate footage from current-gen consoles like the Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox, or your PC with ease.

This is a top of the line amazing capture card I use for my PS5. The 4k gameplay I record is clean along with the crisp sound. Its easy to set up by connecting 1 HDMI from the source (in my case it was the PS5) to Elgato Capture Card, 1 HDMI from Elgato Capture Card to TV, and the provided USB-C to USB-C cable from Capture Card to PC. Download the 4K capture Utility or OBS and youre good to go. I want to provide a small warning though. Double check to make sure your usb port is compatible with this capture card. My motherboard was my only usb-c port on my PC and it experienced audio problems. My motherboard might be corrected in future updates, but I had to separately purchase a USB-C to USB-A (not included) to connect to my USB on my case. If it doesnt plug and play easily it will be a headache and all cases are different as everyone uses different hardware. Again, just make sure your computer USB can transfer speeds of 10gbps and has a USB-C port. Other than this small detail, its a great purchase.

I recently bought the Elgato 4K X and it has completely upgraded my streaming setup.
Setup was super easy – just plug and play. It works flawlessly with my PS5 and DJI camera.
The video quality is stunning, smooth 4K60 with no lag at all. Audio sync is perfect too.
If you’re looking to stream or record in high quality, this is the best capture card you can get.
Highly recommended for creators, gamers, or anyone who wants a professional setup.

Setup was super easy. I had it running in minutes, no complicated software or drivers needed. Just plug in, and it works.
The quality is insane. I’m capturing gameplay in full 4K at 60fps, and it looks buttery smooth. Zero lag while playing, and the recordings come out crystal clear. I also love that it can record straight to an SD card without a PC, which makes things super convenient when I’m streaming or recording

This Elgato capture card is everything I needed. Super easy setup, zero lag, and crystal-clear quality whether I’m recording or live streaming. It’s compact, reliable, and handles 1080p/4K like a pro. Highly recommended for any content creator!

The card works amazingly, when it works, because setting it up is not the most intuitive and user friendly in the market, and trying to dual setup it with cross-OS (Win 11 + MacOS on M1 hardware) can prove to be both challenging and frustrating at times, if you use a USB headset getting the sound go thru the HDMI is also not the easiest task, but after you finally get everything to run, I recommend don't change the setup at all or else you will have to redo step by step everytime (personal experience because I was testing it on single pc setup, dual setup (Win+Win) and dual (Win+MacOS) and is nightmarish to say the least, but when it is working, it works great! At least for streaming or using a 3rd party software, the hardware is amazing, compact, well built, light, good looking and straightforward, it can run a bit hot so I would suggest keeping it away from other heat sources like too close to a gaming monitor or to the desktop tower, I keep mine off centered on my desk, but the 4k Capture software really really let me down, it uses a lot of resource to run, it freezes often when running, it stops responding and crashes when recording on higher settings like 4K, also for a product that should work with mac and windows, the capture software doesn't have a mac version, so you are limited to features on 3rd party software like OBS when using a mac for both streaming and recording, so if you have some unusual setup and don't mind or is patient enough to go thru making it work with your rig, it's pretty rewarding, if you have a more standard setup it also works amazingly, but know that it's not as a plug'n'play hardware as you may initially think...

Amazing Capture Card! its my first capture card and I have been using it with a dual pc setup for a couple of months now with no issues. Some issues setting it up, but that was because I was inexperienced and was figured out with some troubleshooting. Quality is amazing, being able to record gameplay in 4K/144hz has been awesome!

I couldn’t use a 4k60 pro due to lack of motherboard slots. Fortunately elgato made this and it was released right when I was looking for a new capture card because the quality this records and streams at is 2nd to none. Make sure you have a higher speed usb 3.0 slot or it will not work.

This card is great, 35ms latency and works with USB 10Gbps. The only issue is it doesn't capture 4k60 P010 (HDR), but captures 4k60 NV12 no problem. I have two cameras so I bought two of these for a multi cam streaming setup and they work very well.
If you get audio issues (crackling) then make sure that you use a USB port that's connected directly to the CPU, not through the chipset or controller. Check your motherboard manual to find it.
