The Camlink is definitely the best HDMI capture device. It just works with OBS with no dropouts. I'm continuously impressed with Best Buy's contactless (same day) pickup.

Tinkering around is a must. Tried with GoPro 9 and it was locked at 720p. Tried with my Sony Zve10 and it was crystal clear, but plugged my song in without and it looks the same. Idk I’m 50/50. If you don’t have a nice mirrorless camera that’s maybe over 3 years old this might be what you want. But if you have a gopro just sell it and get the Elgato webcam at 1080. Almost as good as my mirrorless but starts to distortion when you start to zoom in over 15%.

Works exactly the way it should. I use it with a Sony a6400 with no problems.

Trying to stream in quarantine and this is what people told me to get. So far have only been able to figure out how to stream in 720p not the 4K or 1080. But atleast it’s better than my phone.

This thing doubled the quality of my current recording setup and barely even gets warm. A+++

I purchased this product 9 months ago , and unfortunately it just stop working . I mean black screen, no signal , and im very disappointed , because i dont have the funds to replace something priced over $100

I've been wanting to get the Cam Link 4k since the beginning of the year, then COVID hit and it was sold out everywhere. As a substitute, I purchased a Black Magic Ultrastudio Mini Recorder. Although it worked well when it did, it was very fickle and my iMac would not recognize it half the time. When the Cam Link 4k became available, I immediately picked it up. It works flawlessly on both my iMac and my Dell laptop. Just plug it into the computer's USB port and and feed it HDMI signal. So simple and works every time. I use it mainly for MS Teams and Zoom meetings. I've also tried it with OBS with no problem. As for the feed, I've use Nikon Z6 and Panasonic Lumix G7 on 4K setting with no issue. I can also send HDMI signal from my laptop to my iMAC for screen recording. All in all, this is a great product and I'm happy with the purchase!

Pros: -True 1080p @ 60fps output (note: there's a lot of buzz going around about $20 knockoffs being the real deal - I tested 2 of them since I have a couple and they either output 720p or hit 1080p @ 24fps despite advertising them as 1080p @ 60fps) -Future-proof. Eventually, 4K streaming will be a thing (spoiler alert: currently, it's not). But it's good to know this thing will prepare you with that option should you go that route -So easy to just plug, play and go -The latency isn't as bad as the cheap knockoffs -My Nikon D7200 works perfectly with clean HDMI with this despite saying that the D7000 series wasn't compatible (I would check to see if your camera works even if it's not listed on their site, if it doesn't work, then of course return it) Cons: -the PRICE -Depending on your camera, you might have to experiment with the audio offset -the PRICE. $130 for a pass-through dongle seems outrageous. And no thanks to the pandemic, people bought these in batches only to resell them with crazy overhead due to the supply & demand

Works well out of the box to ingest HDMI Video into a USB port. I have used several of these to connect PTZ Optics cameras and ProSumer video cameras to a Windows 10 Laptop and Desktop. I typically input FHD 1080p 60hz. We have used them with OBS, vMix and Zoom with great results.

Its a good one trick pony. If you don't need the fancy loopback output of the regular capture cards this usually will do the trick. Because its small, and older, it has some quirks in order to correctly get working in your programs. Sometimes I have to unplug once or twice and switch to the active Cam Link 4K in the program despite it already being selected. I believe this is due to it acting like an entirely new device each time its connected. Its found every camera I've thrown at it and even a few external devices such as an Xbox or PC.

The Cam Link is fantastic! It delivers excellent video quality and makes connecting a DSLR or mirrorless camera to your computer effortless.
