It’s not a bad camera. Cons. Needs a usb 3 port. The image can be good but in optimal lighting. Good camera overall I probably wouldn’t recommend it. I would probably go with the Insta360 camera.

    Best Webcam On The Market

Hands down will be better and look better than any other webcam out there. You get software control like you can’t with the others. The most popular being the Logitech C920, which I also had before upgrading to the Elgato facecam. I have it as backup/secondary webcam. The colors are so much accurate, the focus, the way you can make lighting work for you. It really is a world above. Just make sure you have lightning because other wise this cam won’t bring the picture it’s capable of. I dock one star because this facecam was causing my PC to entirely crash. I have a Ryzen 9 3900X, and B550 Gaming Carbon WiFi. What was happening was that with all other things I had plugged into my motherboard (Keyboard, Mouse, Stream Deck, Astro MixAmp) it was over loading the bandwidth and it would freeze, and then shut down my PC. IF YOU ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, a bios update for my motherboard fixed it. Never had it again after that which was a relief I really didn’t want to return it. I don’t agree with the price though, it should be around 120, 200 is a big ask. I got mine on a discount when Elgato had a sale going.

    Best I've tried

Fantastically clean video. A little harsher than my taste (I'll probably end up gaffer-taping a quarter black promist filter in front of it... wish it had filter threads). I'll be interested to see the next software release for the control panel. Like many reviewers have talked about, it would be nice to have a tint option, but that's nitpicking. It's the best quality image I've seen from a home webcam. I've previously hooked up a couple of mirrorless cameras through a camlink, and that's still a better image, but they're a pain to have to reset everything when I want to use them as cameras instead of webcams. The field-of-view is a bit wider than my taste (I'd prefer a 27mm or 35mm equivalent inseat of this camera's 24mm), but for what it is (a webcam, not a broadcast camera), it's pretty darn great. Also of note, it's fixed focus distance means no hunting autofocus, which I love.

Elgato creates great products for live streaming, video calls, etc. Great products for such a great price. Obviously there are better products out there, but for someone who just needs the basics or is just starting out, these products will suffice. These are so easy to set up, as well. Highly recommend!

Image quality and lighting is very good. Note that there is no microphone so you'll need to use headphones or pick up a mic. I purchased this with the Elgato Wave 3 to keep it all in the same family. Very pleased with the quality so far. It's a little big compared to others.

Really needed to upgrade my old HP webcam 3110 so I can have better quality video @ 1080p and 60FPS for video chatting and streaming. It has a wide angle view to show a lot of your area, the video quality is great, and gets better after you adjust it with the application. Highly recommend this webcam!

I'm very happy with the ease of use and quality of this webcam. It is a little pricey compared to other ones but less than others so a really good upper-middle price with excellent quality, software and control of settings.

As a webcam, this is top of the line. It's unfortunate that a top of the line webcam is this pricey though, but you get what you pay for. It works right out of the box but also has software included that you can use to fine-tune settings. It also integrates well with a streamdeck.

Pretty great camera for streaming, it has a separate hub for setting up the camera. The only annoying thing is it launches when the camera is on so I have to close it down before I stream in obs. But overall great quality and picture also the bottom of the camera clip unscrews so I can mount it directly to my tripod. Which I really needed for art streaming. The camera hub software is easy to navigate.

I bought this to start streaming on twitch. And as far as software and ease of use are concerned it is a very easy to setup and use camera. I'm able to get the zoom, exposure, and anything else you can think of all setup in the camera hub software and just save it and forget it. So I don't have to tinker with it constantly. However this camera doesn't do all that great in low light. I have the Elgato Halo light to go along with it. Which is a great and clean way to mount your webcam, but without addition lighting the picture can be rather grainy. And I feel for the same price as the logitech brio which can do 4K where the elgato can only do 1080p, I was expecting more. But, I got this in a bundle deal and think for the time being this is a good starter webcam. It does basically everything else right that it's hard to fault it at a discounted price. But if you're buying at full price I'd pass on this one.

The Elgato Facecam has been a delightful addition to my streaming setup! Having tried multiple brands, I can confidently say that this one stands out for its clarity, ease of use, and reliability. The Full HD resolution delivers crisp and vibrant images, making my content look top-notch. For its price point, the performance truly exceeded my expectations. If you're diving into the world of streaming or content creation, the Elgato Facecam is a stellar choice that won't disappoint. Highly recommended!

Physical build quality is nice. It would be nice if it felt a little heavier for $200, but it's a nice design. Installation was easy. The Elgato Camera Hub app is decent and has the controls you'd expect. Ultimately though, I returned this because every 30 seconds or so, I would see lines of red, green, and blue flicker in the lower third portion of the video. It was distracting to me and to people on the call. I was using the supplied USB cable plugged directly from the FaceCam and into my M1 MacBook Pro (via a dongle of course).

      Hi mdotdub,

Sorry to hear that you were getting lines on your video feed, were you able to try with a different dongle? Or were you able to try on another system with a direct USB connection just in case there were any issues with the dongle?
