Can't get Elgato support to respond.
No passthrough video, stand alone record doesn't work, computer doesn't even recognize the HDMI device is plugged in.
Best Buy only gives 2 week return period so I'm out $200?

It's not worth the high price to have the same performance as the HD60S+ and it doesn't meet 120FPS on the PS5.

Dead on arrival. I wouldn't normally write a review for such a thing, but this seems to be way too common for a 400 dollar device. I plugged it in, and I get a single RED led light to flash once. It's in between the sd card slot and the circle. I guess this means this device is a dud. There is no on and off switch, which, to be honest, I feel like is a serious misstep in its design. I think what occurs is that the device got overloaded somehow from me merely plugging it into the wall, with the USB already being plugged into the Elgato.

I've used it on my Nintendo Switch with OBS and haven't had a single issue so far. Yeah the price is high but it does the job so I can't complain.

Horrible experience. No signal - did all the troubleshooting only to have exceeded the return deadlines. Now I have to go through the warranty process for a replacement, wouldn't recommend! 10 days after sending it back I still don't have my replacement!

This device is awesome. It does have a little latency from your device to whatever you are sending the signal to. But it is very little and stated in the specs.

Not a Mature Product

Not a mature product. Oddly there are many positive video reviews posted elsewhere, I could never get this unit to work. No video pass through, constantly blinking red LED error, inability to connect device to a PC with the Elgato software. Slow support. The good thing is the return process went well. I attached it to a Sony gaming console, a camera that outputs 60i, 60P & 4K in several wrappers and formats and then to a 4K HDR Sony TV with only a blinking red LED. All products before Corsair took over still work fine. I have an MSI gaming laptop I can plumb an Elgato Cam-Link 4K into and record from almost anything that has an HDMI output, but with no 60P and no HDR. I would avoid this device. Tech service may reach out to me now, but way too late.

After 2 months of use, here is my expierence.

I should start this with saying I have a Mini ITX computer. So I NEEDED to get an external capture card if I was going to use one at all.
When I first started using this device I was capturing my laptop (Macbook Pro) screen and later using the files to instruct individuals of the software program.
It was a simple use case, but the 4k60S+ had no problems with that. It helped my workload when originally I was saving my screen via quicktime on MacOS.
I started finding new reasons to use the Elgato after that, namely for using my Switch/Xbone at my desk, and then some occasional streaming.. Which I know is the main use for this. The fact that I was able to go from never streaming, to now having a high quality stream over the course of a few weeks really speaks for itself. Elgato has the best software to go with their hardware. I use streamlabs for the actual stream, so I assume the whole ecosystem works well if you want to swap out certain pieces. I use this + Wave:3 + a stream deck Mini (I'm telling you streaming is not a full time job for me) If you want a fairly simple plug in play device, that won't overly complicate things. This works wonders, and I honestly enjoy finding new reasons to make use of this. :)

Another great Elgato product!

A great overall capture card for all of your 4K capture/streaming needs both at home and for any capture events thanks to the the SD card slot you wont even need a Laptop with you for some of those more crowded live capture events.
As always with the Game Capture products for a while now you'll find little to no lag with inputs from using the pass through, nor loss of picture quality.
This might be a key piece of kit especially for those who plan on recording 4K content especially in the PS5/XSX generation who just want to capture without worry then edit later on PC from the SD card.
For Streaming/Recording on a PC, third-party apps like OBS Studio, StreamLabs or, X-split might be your best bet however instead of the native software however it will do the job.
Overall, a great product that does what it says on the tin and the capability to take it and record elsewhere is a blessing to those in the industry who will be able to capture lots of content easily with the press of a button and maybe the swap of a SD card through the day with no worry at future press events, recording events and so on.

This card is absolute garbage. Ive changed it twice and i still have the same issue. I talked to elgato customer service. I did every setting and update they ask for and still nothing. 3 months and no solution. I get stuttering and random glitches. I did their firmware update and nothing. I even loaded and checked my usb ports to see if maybe i was loosing power, nope. I Update all my drivers. Switched my saving spots from C to E to f drive and nothing. I changed the power settings to high and ultra to no change. Name the setting and i did it. I went through all of youtube videos on this and nothing. The customer service is horrible and they lag to respond. If you dont call to check up on your status, they will forget about you.

Very expensive, Does not work well. Took forever to get it to even turn on or record after tons of fiddling. Pass through image quality was bad, did not work at all with HDR turned on from the source, issues with HDCP....never managed a single successful recording of high quality. Impossible to troubleshoot because it's not installed in a real computer.

Possible faulty unit or just a bad model

I received this as an early Christmas present and thought it would be easy to connect. I followed the quick setup and downloaded the 4K Utiliity from the webpage. I've tried it on multiple laptops and the connection from the device to the PC doesn't seem to be stable because it goes in and out of Device Manager and the 4K Utility always displays "No device detected". Maybe it is a faulty module but I don't think that I would have had issues with the HD60S.
