I bought this capture device for a few different reasons. I wanted to be able to stream Xbox One, PS4, and Switch gameplay while using a green screen and higher quality mic. I also wanted to convert some old mini-DV and VHS-C tapes to digital so that I could preserve the memories. A friend gave me their RCA to HDMI adapter and I was able to use that to capture video.

Works well, easy to set up, and really easy-to-use software. No complaints whatsoever.

Simply a must have for streamers!! Works great and pretty simple to use! Has great quality! I have had a budget one and it did crash so many times before I was able to purchase the Elgato one)! I purchased this so I could hook up my Panasonic GH5 as my streaming camera instead of using a standard webcam. After downloading the streaming software it was as simple as plugging in the camera via HDMI and I was up and running. The software is pretty decent but I preferred OBS instead - it's tricky to get this to work with OBS on a Mac but there are some good YouTube tutorials out there on how to do it.

Works as intended with my PC. I use it to play my consoles on my PC with the occasional streaming. It definitely is plug and play and I love it, makes things super easy. I would highly recommend this to others who either want to start streaming there console gaming or just want to have the option to play their consoles at their desk. 5/5

I originally wanted to mainly stream my Switch onto Discord to share with friends. Upon installing the drivers and software for this device, I was amazed how I could play straight from the software screen, instead of having to swap between display modes on my monitor. Playing through the software means the beautiful mix of the Switch and PC audio. I can minimize the Switch window if I need, and when I'm ready to play again, I can adjust the software to go full screen. The main website states that you can't play through their software due to latency and delay, but this may be an oversight on their webpage since it plays just fine. I don't notice any delay and my button presses are instant and accurate on screen. If you've been debating on this product for a while, give it a shot. The mix of audio between the PC and Switch is a dream, I don't have to reach to my monitor to switch display input, and the software treats the switch like a separate program that you can freely move across your screens and adjust the size as you like. No need to adjust the display cables to another monitor! Yeah sure, you can stream, but it does so much more.

This product was great and worked as advertised, but keep in mind that if you're planning to play the PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series at resolutions above 1080p, you will not be able to because the passthrough in this device only supports 1080p at the max. If you want to play at 4k and stream/record, buy the Elgato HD 60S+...that's what I did.

This device is good for beginners and easy to understand instructions. The recording is is very good as well

This capture device does an incredible job of capturing high-quality video, however there is a down side. Make sure you have a very good computer. I use it with my laptop that has an Intel i7 processor with 8 GB of RAM. It is able to handle the capture of 720p video, but it takes a couple of minutes to render it. The sound works with an adaptor I had to buy from Amazon, but it doesn't work with my headset. I have to use an external microphone.

Purchased this for my wife to update her streaming. She was able to connect the ps4 to her laptop and use a obs system to share her game play. She was also able to use it with her Nintendo Switch and share her game play with it. There was some issues with audio but nothing some youtube video searches didn't help with.
