Stream Deck MK.2 is pretty useful if you are into the ultimate control for streaming. It gives you tons of actions and features in applications that are faster than pressing hotkeys. This instantly makes this one of my favorite PC tools. The software is powerful allowing me to download plugins from my favorite services as well. I can use ShadowPlay, Twitch, Youtube, Spotify, Developer tools and so much more on the Stream Deck. This is a nicely designed unit that will fit in anywhere with your PC setup, The Stream Deck is not initially large in size. Comes with a nice stand as well. The USB-C is L-Shaped angled so that it will easily fit in. Setting up the device was easy as plugging it in, Love that you can create multi-action profiles as making a folder for all the Nvidia ShadowPlay Controls. Using Twitch Studio was a breeze and made my life much easier for streaming. That’s pretty much what’s the SteamDeck is, makes using your favorite streaming programs easy to use at a click of a button with real accessibility. I’ve been waiting for something like this but had no real idea how it can really unleash your creativity and workflow. 15-keys are nice and bright with the screen that is on here. You can also make profiles to give it some color when not in use. There are ways to replace the faceplates which I’m pretty much interested in but haven’t tried. Would love for them to work with gaming companies or streamers for different design. There feels like unlimited personalization for whatever you need your PC for. Great product for streaming online and editing too.

If you’re a streamer, you’re probably already familiar with the Elgato Stream Deck. You might even have one! This is the MK.2 version and although it looks very similar, it does come with a few upgrades and design improvements. This is my first Stream Deck, so I’m only judging this device by its own performance and features. I did read a little about the former model on the Elgato website to get a basic idea of the differences, and it appears that the integrated USB cable was replaced with a USB-C port, and that this edition comes with a desktop stand that tilts the device to a 60 degree angle. The desktop stand has a grippy surface, so it stays nicely in place on your desktop or table. The device itself is pretty simple to explain and understand. There are 15 customizable buttons on a black surface. The unit plugs into your computer with the included USB-C to USB 2.0 cable. That’s it. Where it gets complicated is the programming. When I say complicated, I don’t mean it’s hard to figure out, because it’s actually very easy to get started. You start out by downloading the Stream Deck app from the Elgato website, and it will automatically connect to the device on startup. I’m glad it doesn’t force you sign in to or create an account, although you can create multiple profiles and layouts. There are many programs and options available, so I won’t list them all, but you can do pretty much anything you would want it to do, such as changing scenes in OBS, start a game, mute your microphone, turn your camera off or change lighting. You can even set up a voice changer, but to get the full use out of it, you have to pay for a Pro license. I would generally recommend not to use a voice changer too much anyway. It gets old rather quickly, unless you get creative with it. Programming a button is done by simply dragging-and-dropping an item from the menu on the right side. Once you drop something, you get more options. For example, when you drop an OBS scene selection, you get to select the scene and profile. You can also change the icon to many included graphics or you can design your own. You can also name the button which will show on the button display. If you don’t want to spend hours in photoshop perfecting your own graphics, using the included ones is the quickest way to get started; it doesn’t take long at all. You can also download more icons in the store. If you’re streaming on multiple computers and would like to use the same Stream Deck, keep in mind that your presets don’t save on the device, but on the computer it’s configured on. I prefer this, because I have completely different setups on my two computers, one for music streams, one for gaming streams. I’ve been streaming for over a year on Twitch, and I’m used to doing everything with my mouse and keyboard. Having the Stream Deck definitely makes life easier for a streamer. With 15 buttons, you can have a button for all the most important things you click on during a stream. It’s faster and more convenient than a mouse and keyboard for sure, and once you try one, you’ll start wondering how you made it without one for all this time. If you spend a lot of time streaming, don’t hesitate any longer, get yours today!

    Ultimate Streaming Companion

The Elgato Stream Deck is a fantastic streaming companion, it allows you to control multiple apps, recording, mic settings, PC settings, and hotkeys without having to alt-tab out of your game or break your streaming and recording workflow. Software is easy to install and very intuitive, just drag and drop functions for each app over to the Stream Deck in the PC App interface. If you don't see your preferred app like Youtube or Twitch, you can search for and download the plugins from the Stream Deck Store App. The most-used functions seem to be supported by default, but I'm not sure if there's a way to add them if you don't see what you need. The Stream Deck itself isn't overly well-built as the housing is plastic with a frame that you insert the Stream Deck into which angles the keys at a nice 45 degree angle. The keys and LED display however are very impressive. Bright and pleasant to use with a kind of spongy feel but very responsive and affirmative when you press them. The light intensity also changes when a key is active to let you know if a key has been pressed. I'm not sure if there's a way to add animations to some of the other icons like the default Elgato Welcome icon. Only a few negatives I will note, the Stream Deck is USB-C to the unit and USB-A to your PC. When using USB-C to USB-C it actually doesn't work at all. Also, the instruction booklet (which fell apart at the seam on a few pages) says its easy to change the faceplate to a custom one, but I didn't find that to be the case since there's nothing to grab onto because the unit is so thin once its removed from the housing. Overall this is a great device that will help you maintain your streaming workflow without interruption!

This is an excellent update to the 15-key Stream Deck! The detachable USB-C cable and base/backplate make the physical device more capable, while the constantly improving software experience make this one of the best ways to add simplicity to your streaming setup. The dynamic LCD keys allow for visual macros and visual feedback by allowing you to instantly see that something is enables. For example, I have the various sources I switch between for my streaming setup displayed in a folder specific for Streamlabs OBS that allows me to quickly glance at the number of YouTube or Twitch viewer are currently watching, quickly respond with preset comment responses, and see what equipment is currently active! You are also able to find packs of options that allow you to integrate things like Hue lights and other smart devices to make managing environmental objects easier. Using folders for various tasks allows you to easily keep your current tasks organized for what you need for that particular task, bringing you just the keys and tools you set up for the task you're trying to complete. This is the best part of Stream Decks and was a life saver on the 6-key Mini that I had been using before upgrading to this 15-key! Folders and organization make the Stream Deck a great value add for your streaming setup. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who finds themselves using multiple macros for streaming or editing and especially those who like to integrate other devices into an easy control center! Highly, highly recommend!!!

As someone deeply invested in optimizing my productivity, the Elgato Stream Deck has been a game-changer for me. This sleek little device might have been initially designed with streamers in mind, but its versatility extends far beyond the gaming realm. What I love most about the Stream Deck is its ability to adapt to my needs. With its customizable buttons, I've been able to create tailored shortcuts for all my frequently used tasks. Whether it's launching applications, executing macros, or even controlling my smart home devices, the Stream Deck puts everything I need at my fingertips. Setting up the Stream Deck was surprisingly straightforward, thanks to Elgato's intuitive software. However, I can see how it might be overwhelming for those less tech-savvy. Once you get past the initial learning curve, though, the possibilities are endless. The build quality of the Stream Deck is top-notch. The keys are responsive, and the device itself feels sturdy and well-built. It's clear that Elgato has put a lot of thought into the design and construction of this product. Of course, the Stream Deck isn't without its drawbacks. The price point might be a bit steep for some users, especially considering there are cheaper alternatives on the market. Additionally, while the software is powerful, it does require some time investment to fully harness its capabilities. If you're looking to supercharge your productivity and streamline your workflow, the Elgato Stream Deck is an excellent investment. Its customizable buttons, seamless integration, and solid build quality make it a must-have tool for anyone serious about getting things done.

There is not much say about the elgato stream deck that hasn't already been widely published elsewhere. This is a perfect companion for any streamer and honestly has applications for casual gamers and even potentially in a professional environment as a macro keyboard. From a streamer's perspective, the integrations and additional plug ins available help workflow tremendously. For such a relatively simple sounding product, there is few limitations to how you can apply it to better your everyday life. As far as the changes in this mk.2 version, everything is nearly perfect. I love the idea of interchangeable faceplates for customization, the removable USB-C cord has been a must forever and the new stand is very nice. HOWEVER, if I were to gripe about one thing it would be the fact that the unit does not secure itself to the stand. Comparing it to the Stream deck XL which has magnets in the feet to hold it in place securely, the stream deck simply rests inside of the stand which causes it to easily fall off if you are to move it by grasping just the front portion of the unit (as I do all the time and tried to illustrate in my picture). This really only amounts to an annoyance, but it is disappointing to see and feels cheap when compared to my stream deck XL that is sits right next to. Overall, if you are a streamer, content creator, or someone who is looking for a macro keyboard to speed up your life, you will not be disappointed if you purchase this.

This is an excellent device and the software makes it very easy to program for many functions. I like that as you program, the hardware is instantly updated. The keys are little screens, so they can have words and graphics on them for identification. I have the 16 key version and it fills up rapidly. Fortunately the system has the ability to swap all the key scripts so you can have multiple sets of keys for a particular program depending on what part of the program you are interacting with. One major limitation is that mouse clicks cannot be programmed, only key strokes. Hence if what you want to accomplish does not have shortcut keys you can't program it. Allied to this, it may be difficult to locate the short cut keys. Plugins are available (for free) to supersede some of these limits. I installed the Zoom plugin. My greatest utilization to date is using it for Zoom. I would like to have a key that would share and play preselected music. This sequence requires two mouse clicks in the middle so I have two keys and two mouse clicks. It would be desirable to be able to do this with one key. There doesn’t appear to be a way to open the settings in a context free way. Tools are available for developing plugins using procedural programming languages like JavaScript or objective C ... I don’t know how one could control an application such as Zoom if you don’t own Zoom if the application doesn’t provide a shortcut key.

I use this for gaming and it's been a great product. Whether I use my one keys and bindings, or by pre-made ones it's a great time saver. Having symbols and pictures I can just look at to know what they do let's me have the right setup for the situation I'm in. The software is easy to use and integration with other Elgato devices is simple. One device can change the layout on others. The buttons are a good brightness, and easy to see. The software gives almost endless possibilities in creating what you want to see, and what you want the button to do. From a simple keybind to a macro with series of instructions, you can do commands with a simple push. The stand comes at a good angle to view the device. There are plenty of other stands for these devices to mount multiples ones, and ones of different types together.Build is solid and works great.

Excellent product, extremely useful for speeding up processes, made of good quality. You can automate processes, and make shortcuts for everything you imagine, if there is an option on the keyboard. The screen on each key helps to markedly improve the visibility of the shortcut. Good support from the company and many presets from the user community.

If you game stream, live podcast or edit videos this product can make your life so much easier. I use this product mainly to game stream and produce my podcast. The software is easy to use and I use it for switching scenes, recording clips, keeping track of viewers, spotify control and sound clips. If you have Elgato products like key lights, cameras, etc you can also adjust them using this. I love that you can customize the buttons to what ever image and text you like (even gifs) and the layouts can be infinite. But if you use a lot of buttons you may want to consider getting the XL instead. A must have for any streamer or editor that need hotkeys for tools and production.

If you frequently use a computer on a day to day basis and are thinking about purchasing one of these, just do it. It can control a multitude of of programs as well as execute macros and hotkeys. It has proven to be far more useful than I ever expected. It's designed for streamers but can do so much more. It has actually been so useful that I've been kicking myself for not just picking up the 32 button version. The 15 button is still great, you'll just have to create more folders and profiles. Seriously if you're considering this device at all, just pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed. I bought it to run with bitfocus companion for live event production but have found myself using it with literally every other program I use.

Very sick piece of hardware! I personally do not take full advantage of what this thing can do, but I enjoy using it as a hot key/button box for many of my sim games like DCS World, American Truck Sim, iRacing, and a few others. I do also use it to control some functions for the streaming program OBS Studio and even installed a plugin through the software that allows me to control my Spotify with great ease. Some people like digital artists and content creators use it similarly to bind their hot keys for photoshop or similar programs instead.

Pros: -If using OBS, you can have scenes assigned to keys so you can switch them on the fly -Very easy to assign functions to the keys -Makes most workflows a lot more fluid and you save a few seconds of time using it -It can be used for other things other than streaming. I use it for content creation using OBS. Cons: -No onboard memory. If you have multiple devices, you have to have the software installed in each one of them and reassign everything -Not actually a necessary device. This device was meant to save you a few seconds for things you can do simply with your keyboard and mouse Overall: This is more of a quality of life device. I use this mainly with OBS when creating videos. In OBS, you can assign pretty much anything with hotkeys on your keyboard making this Stream Deck rather overkill. And the fact that this device has no onboard memory is befuddling. I have a laptop and a PC rig and I create videos on both of them. If I were to unplug this and re-plug it onto my other device, it will not remember all the functions I assigned. You must configure each button on each computer separately. That's a major disappointment for a $150+ device. Overall, it's nice to have but I don't really think I actually have to have it. Like I said earlier, you can accomplish a lot of the 'shortcuts' using your keyboard and mouse. You save like a few seconds of time. Now if you're a hyperactive streamer, then yeah, I can see how beneficial this is. If you're gaming simultaneously while streaming, I can see how these quick keys can help you. I just don't think it's truly necessary.

Options for custom button set up and layouts, doesn’t get much better than this! Chose white to match the set up, but also available in black for a more discreet or minimalist look. All in all I can easily say that this stream deck has increased my stream, both from an experience standpoint, but also from a navigation standpoint. This stream deck makes it easy to manage custom transitions, triggers and other effects that a will in turn deliver a satisfying experience for the viewers. I did find it a big tough to initially set up, but once I got over that hump it was smooth sailing moving forward. It easily synchs with most overlays out there too. Although there are 15 buttons to program, I rarely find myself doing so. All in all I would recommend this stream deck to those who are entering streaming or are in the process of changing over from manual transitions/effects to a more mechanical approach.
